BW iview security

Hi,
     Requirement:
When the portal user copies the URL of the BW report iview and pastes to a new browser after logging off, logon prompt should appear before the report is displayed.
     What I did:
Changed the Property Category - Load; Cache level to Session, so that whenever a new browser is opened, it should prompt for userid password.
     What happened:
It is a 2 step BW report. It displays the input variables in the first page and execute button. After button click, the report is displayed in the 2nd page.
After changing the cache level to session, on clicking Execute, i get a 404 resource not found.
     Other information
NW04 - SP16, we are using SSL and logon certificates have been configured to establish EP-BW connectivity.
Please let me know what needs to be done so that the BW report iview can be made secure.
Thanks
Sumathi

Hi Sumathi,
Without loggin into portal, open the browser and give the url for accessing the BW query
http://<WAS>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?query
and check if it is asking for the user id and password.

Arun

  • How to stop HTTP Security warning message in transactional iview

When I am trying to access ECC through transactional iview then I am getting HTTP security warning message i.e. This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?
I think it is because portal is accessable using HTTPS protocol and when we access ECC then it uses HTTP Protocol.
    Pl help to resolve.

    Hi AshuGrover_in,
    First, welcome on SDN!
    > I think it is because portal is accessable using HTTPS protocol and when we access ECC then it uses HTTP Protocol.
    > Pl help to resolve.
This might very well be the root cause of the issue, and if it is, you know the resolution - make all systems accessible via https.
Anyhow, to examine the exact cause creating this message you could use tools like HttpWatch or something similar and record the client accesses to the server. If you originally have a GET to a https address, the first http request caused by the original request will throw this message.
Theoretically, on client side, you can switch off this message: Search for "switch off http https warning" on google and you will get all possible instructions for the different clients. Anyhow, a clean landscape design with complete https connections is the aim you should have.
    Hope it helps

  • Security on iViews

    Friends,
I have created a workset "X" and add an iView "A" to this workset, Now for this workset added to a Role.
The Role is assigned to 15 groups.
Now I want to replace an  iVIew "A" with iVIew"B"
Do i need to assign the permission again to take effect to the groups to see iView "B" or the same permissions which I assign to the Groups will be ok.
    Please advise.
    Krish

    Hi,
I think you are confusing things here..
If a user has assigned a role (no matter if directly or by using groups) there is no need for additional permissions to be set on any level.
The role assignment gives permission to see all content (worksets, pages, iViews) from this role.
If you now replace some content in this role (workset A with workset B or page C with page D or iView E with iViewF) the user immediately will see the new content (maybe log off and log on is required).
So you just replace in your workset the iView by the new one and all users will see the new one.
No permissions need to be maintained for this.
What permissions are you talking about?
If you talk about setting permissions at Content Administration -> Portal Content, or System Administration -> Permissions you don't need this to do for this scenario.
Those permissions need to be set to delegate the content administration. They are relevant during design time.

    Sascha

  • Security issue concerning BW reports as an iView

If certain BW reports were to be hosted in an external portal, is there a possibility of external users getting the source (via View Source in the web form) and then alter some key parameters and then be able to obtain information not accessible to them??

    Woon,
well, even if the users can get thier hands on the code, in all cases the BW's authorization concept (if properly defined) should prevent them form accessing illegitimate data.
Remember, that when working with portals, the authorizations should still be maintained (and checked!) in the respective backend systems.

Maybe there is approval set up on this folder. Order time based publishing. Both can cause the read users to see nothing.
The first means that read users can only see published documents. If no document is published the result is a empty folder.
Same for the second feature. If timebased publishing it can be that all documents are hidden for the read users because the documents are out of there time interval.
Hope this helps. Check both in folder > details > settings.

  • SSO to ITS through WebSEAL gives secure/non-secure messages

    Hi
    We running the following setup:
    EP6 SP14
    Stand-alone ITS 6.20 patch 18
    4.7 R/3 Enterprise
    TAM/WebSEAL 5.1
We are running SSO through WebSEAL to the portal and everything seems to be working just fine.
But when we try to access a transactional iView or an IAC iView running on the ITS server I get a pop-up message saying "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items."
We are accessing WebSEAL through HTTPS, we are running HTTPS between WebSEAL and the portal and HTTP between WebSEAL and ITS.
I have tried to access the ITS through WebSEAL without using the portal, and I still get the message. So it must be something between the WebSEAL and the ITS server.
Does anybody have any ideas what is causing this?
    Cheers,
    Jacob Vennervald

The "secure and non-secure" message, displayed when accessing ITS through WebSEAL when using IE and HTTPS, is caused by an empty source reference (<IFRAME ... SRC="" ...>) within the ITS menu page (...d_menu.html).
The integration guide, available on the <a href="http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24003605">IBM website</a> and the <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/ibm">SAP SDN</a>, contains the information on how to stop the message from appearing.
The message should not be displayed when accessing ITS through WebSEAL using HTTP.
    Regards,
    Peter Tuton.

    Hello,
We are working in SAP EP 7.0. For our portal application we have developed a HTML File and upload it to the content management.that HTML is editable with the help of HTMLText Editor. That HTML file contains  some user's name, the requirement is clicking on the User's Name it will open the <b>User Details iView</b> which is basically the deatils of the USER what is stored in the backend. If  Who's Who section is configured in Enterprise Portal and  we search by giving an user's name then it listed down all the relevant names, and clicking on each name a new window opens up with that person's details, the same thing needs to be done from that HTML file .. so how to proceed for that?

  • How to get the URL of an iView using AbstractPortalComponent

    Hi All,
I need to get the URL of an iView using AbstractPortalComponent using the following code.
But i am unable to open the URL from the Browser
This is the following code snippet
    public class AbsClass extends AbstractPortalComponent
public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)
    IPortalComponentURI componentURI = request.createPortalComponentURI();
    componentURI.setContextName("pcd:portal_content/LOG_Viewer/LogViewer");
    String URI=componentURI.toString();
    response.write(URI);
The output i got from the browser is:
    /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fLOG_Viewer!2fLogViewer
    Actual Path: pcd:portal_content/LOG_Viewer/LogViewer
    Output Path: /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fLOG_Viewer!2fLogViewer
Why some extra numerics are embeded in the output path when compare with the Actual Path.
Can any one send me the modified code and your suggestions, how to achieve this problem.

Landscape:We have both BW 3.5 and EP 6.0, SP 16 on the same instance in
same physical machine. EP 6.0 works on J2EE engine as an add-in installtion.
Steps we followed for the integration of EP with BW:
1)Create RFC Destination in J2EE Engine:
    Parameters:
    Program ID: xyz
    Gateway host: abc.ad.company.com
    Gateway service: sapgw00
    Application server host:abc.ad.company.com
    System number: 00
    Client: BID
    Language: EN
    User: sapjsf
    Password: ********
2)Maintain RFC Destination for SAP EP 6.0
    Parameters:
    RFC destination: SAP_EP
Connection type: T for TCP/IP connection
    Description: SAP EP RFC Destination
    Technical Settings:
    - Type of activation: Registered server program
    - Program ID: xyz
    - Gateway host: abc.ad.company.com
    - Gateway service: sapgw00
    Logon/Security:
    - Send SAP Logon Ticket: Activated
    Special Options:
    Unicode
3)Maintain Portal Server Settings for SAP EP 6.0 in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL
    in BW 3.5
    RFC destination: SAP_EP
    System name: BIDEV
    Default: Checked
    Portal URL prefix: http://abc.ad.company.com:50000
RM prefix for BW metadata: <empty>
    KM service URL: <empty>
P.S.:We have maintained one more dummy entry as per the SAP Note 815044
    in the table RSPOR_T_PORTAL.
4)Maintain Single Sign-On in SAP BW
In transaction RZ10, We have maintained following settings:
    login/create_sso2_ticket=2
    login/accept_sso2_ticket=1
5)Export BW Certificate to SAP BW and
6)Import BW Certificate to SAP EP 6.0
We have followed the above mentioned two steps.
7)Create BW System in SAP EP 6.0
    Parameters:
    Log on methods: SAPLOGONTICKET
We have created the BW system and the Connection test in WAS Connection
    is working fine.
8)Configure User Management in SAP EP 6.0
This step is not maintained as our scenario does not demand it.
9)Export Portal Certificate to SAP EP 6.0 and
10)Import Portal Certificate to SAP BW
This step is also maintained as per Performance Assistant guidelines in
    SPRO.
The user that we are trying to log into BeX Web Query Analyzer is
Amarnath_rr who has 'SAP ALL' rights and the same user in EP is assigned'Super Admin' as well as 'Content Admin' role.
Can anyone throw any light on wat the error might be??

    Ricky,
    a couple of clarifications :
    1. Does the report execute independently on the web - when you execute in Query view over IE or through a web template
    2. Check if SSO is properly configured - you can check if SSO is enabled by using TCode STRUST in BW. - the status of PSE should be Green.

  • Access denied error for BW Report iView..Please help :(

    Hello All,
I have created a BW Report iView..containing a Bex query.
Have created the required BW system object too.
When I preview this iView, it asks me for BW system authentication....since am not mapped to this BW system.
    Its alright till here......
    Problem:
Now, when I copy paste the URL (URL generated when you preview this iView) into a new browser window, I get an error saying:
" <b>An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    Access denied (Object(s): <<i>iView path</i>>
    Exception id: 02:57_13/02/06_0034_6204550
See the details for the exception ID in the log file</b> "
I checked tha bove mentioned log and it says:
<b>Permission check failed - Object <<i>iView path</i>>  Pcd.Use Principal: Information not available with current trace level#</b>
Changed the iView authentication scheme to every value present but it did not resolve.
    Please help me resolve this.
    Awaiting Reply.
