BW queries on Solman Blueprint

Hi friends,
How can I map my BW queries on Solman BBP ?
Here we have an webpage that calls if I´m not wrong some Bex functions ( I didn´t participate of the implementation project but I saw at the url something like this :
http://???????????????:8000/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&infocube=0FIGL_C10&query=Q_0FIGL_C10_RESULTADO_ACUM&sap-language=PT
I created the structure like this :
Business Scenario : Business Inteligence
Business Processes : Projects
Step : Display results
So, my question is in the transaction tab, what is the type of my logical component to map BW queries?
Is there some way without the use of URL ?
Thanks in advance
Thiago Scaranto

Hi Cedric,
This feature is available in BO XI 3.1 SP3 as per below documentation.

  • Import Project Structure (Business Blueprint) into Solution Manager

    Hi,
we are searching for a way to import a project or process structure from external formats like MS Visio, BPML, XML into Solman SOLAR01.
I think there should be a possibility via XML.
Anybody knows how to import xml-files into SolMan Blueprint and which structure the file has ?
    Thanks for any suggestions !
    Steven

    Hi Satish,
It would create a project that can be see in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, SOLAR01, SOLAR02 just like any other project.
The BPR is something entirely different. I think you meant Business Process Structure. Correct?

  • SolMan queries

    Hi SolMan Experts,
We are in the implementation project and we are going to use SolMan in the near future..
I know that it can be used for storing Documents, maintaining business scenarios and generating blueprints,.
I have few things to clear about SolMan,like
How is BPM (Business process monitoring) handled in SolMan?.
Are there any alert systems in it..then how would it be used ..
Also do we face problems if we do NOT use SolMan in implementation ?.
like is a Solman key is required for installation of a SAP systems?,etc..
    Appriecate for quick answers.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Umesh Karane.
    SAP SD consultant.

    Hi Umesh,
Let me attempt answering, thought it may take more than one post to cover !
How is BPM (Business process monitoring) handled in SolMan?.
This is handled under a separate Scenario called 'Solution Monitoring' There are distinct steps that you have to acquaint yourself with, and carry out setting up BPM
Are there any alert systems in it..then how would it be used ..
There are indeed many possibilities - details can be found within BPM documentation (I'll try to attach a few links in next post)
Also do we face problems if we do NOT use SolMan in implementation ?.
If you use it for Implementaiton, it is far easier to copy those Business Processes. If you don't, you can still set up BPM using Processes from Business Process Repository (BPR) provided by SAP.
like is a Solman key is required for installation of a SAP systems?,etc..
These are more meant for 'Delivery of SAP Services' - a distinct scenario by itself. Of course, it will have an impact on BPM. Still, it is not related to your decision to use/not use Implementation project.

  • Blueprint from SOLMAN

Can anyone tell me how was his / her experience of preparing and maintaining business blueprint thru SAP Solution manager

    hi,
Well -my expereiance has been mixed.
For one- I __could not say that simply__ "generate" the blueprint, once i have maintained the various business and it would give me a BIBLE with which i could leverage on change management.
This i have seen happening since Solman has the ability to Regenerate the Blue print as and when required in the process of "Progressive Elaboration" after the signing of the Blueprint itself!!
Yes- there is a option of having the baseline Blueprint and its progressive versions- but then the trick is to FREEZE these progressions at some point - else- even on the go-live date- we have with us a unfinished Blueprint.
The ideal way to have the Blueprint Frozen would be - on the date when the Change Advisory  Board members are identified and sooner this happens - it works out best for all.

  • Generate customer specific Business Blueprint in SOLMAN

    Hi there,
i tried to establish a customer specific layout for the business blueprint that is generated by solution manager. starting off with the document header i replaced the logo in the solarblueprint.dot and .doc and uploaded both files to solution manager. after generating the blueprint there is the customer specific logo on the first page. on the other pages, there is still the sap-logo.
does anyone have a quick solution?
    cheers
    art

i won't get any points beceause it is my own question... but who cares
the problem is that the template-document has a new chapter starting after page one, which then is relevant for the rest of the document. so, the solution is pretty easy. for both, the .doc and the .dot document:
    1. Adjust the template header at page one.
    2. Click on the normal text field.
    3. Click a couple times on enter until page 2 shows up.
    4. adjust the header on page 2.
    5. save the document.
    6. upload the documen.
    7. create your bbp from solar01.
    Hope it helped you guys
    cheers

  • Documentation in SolMan of Non SAP Implementation.

    Hi experts,
Is it possible to maintain documentation, blueprints, etc. for an implementation of a NON SAP system (CC&B of Oracle)?
If possible, what would be the correct scenario of SolMan?
    Best Regards,

    Hi Gustavo,
In my view, the right transactions to hold documents for Non-SAP systems are SOLAR01 & SOLAR02 or the Solution Landscape.
The questions you would have to answer yourself are:
    (1) Are these Non-SAP systems part of the 'overll' solution landscape in terms of interacting with SAP in one way or ther other  OR are these meant to carry out certain Business Processes that are totally standalone and have no 'interface' or cross-dependency on SAP
          - If these Non-SAP systems actively interact with SAP, you may be better off getting the structure definition as well as documentation in the same Project
         - If some elements interact and most others are standalone, you may like to have a different Project to manage those standalone elements
    (2) Do you plan to undertake any 'Project' that may end up using these Non-SAP system documentation OR is it primarily for the support team that manages an existing infrastructure, to have access to these documents from one place ?
    - If no projects are foreseen taking shape, you may be better off defining the structure as Business Scenarios or Interface Scenarios in Solution Landscape as opposed to Project side
Please feel free to ask any further queries.
    Best regards,
    Srini

  • Service desk: Hide links (queries) in the work center view

    Hi,
we are using the service desk towards our customers.
Basically we have to sets of roles: one for consultants (ourselves) and one for our customers.
Our customers are entering the service desk through a web-interface.
If the consultants enters the web-interface, they can see reports and queries to the left, and they can open and edit tickets.
If the customers enters the web-interface, they cannot see queries and reports in the left navigation bar, and they can not open and edit tickets.
Now we need a third possibility:
A customer need to open and edit tickets, but they should not be allowed to define (or even execute) queries.
Because when they can define queries, they get access to see all other customers tickets. And that is not good.
    How to obtain this?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    / peter

Based on your comments, I take it that you may not implementing a formal first level support who can perform these tasks as recommended by solman standard. If you are, your customer can request reassignment using their reply option, and the support tech performs the task. You can implement some sort of email notification process to inform the new BP.
Alternatively, I can suggest two modifications if you have a developer at your disposal:
    1) in your solution manager system, clone the incident create web dynpro to ensure population of the required fields to the customer and to suit your requirement. Here you can also remove the SU15 text id checks.
    2) in your satellite system, modify the function group which triggers the create incident process and have it launch the cloned web dynpro above.
My apologies, I don't have access to a solman system immediately to give you the exact object names for the above suggestions.
    Cheers,
    P

5)Because of the inconsistencies in java version in our System, The installation shows the Error " Import directory does not exist  "?
6)Please tel the cause of the Error
Kindly assist to proceed with the installation
    Regards,
    Gayathri.K

    Hello Gayathri
The import_monitor.java.log says the JRE used is 1.6 - java version "1.6.0_45"
There must be multiple JRE's installed on the system.
Run the below command and check the output
    ls -lad /usr/java*
    Few things I would try.
Is the '/cddumps/Solman_Export_Cds/51042607_1/DATA_UNITS/EXP1' an NFS mount ? If yes use a local file system.
Create a directory called /SMINSTALL and move all from /cddumps/Solman_Export_Cds
    It should look like /SMINSTALL/51042607_1/DATA_UNITS/EXP1
    Start the installation.
Try to use Java 1.4 or 1.5 and see if that helps.
You need to set the environment variable JAVA_HOME before starting the installation.
    export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java14_64/jre
    Are there any files/directories under 51042607_*/DATA_UNITS/EXP* ?

  • Error in Integration of Defect Module of HP QC with SolMan Ehp 1

    Hi,
We are using QC version 10 patch 12 and connected with SolMan Ehp 1 for testing.
We are facing a problem in integrating the defect module of QC with Service desk of SolMan.
The required settings are done in SPRO -> SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Third Party Integration -> SAP Quality Center by HP -> Integration Defect Management.
SPRO -> SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Third Party Integration -> External Service Desk
We have also implemented the SAP note 1289155.
We are not using the Standard message type SLFN instead we have ZLFN.
See the bellow error message in QC during field maping.
The number of required defect fields in Quality center is different from the number of required support message fields in Application: u201Ceclsh112; WAS; 100u201D. Make sure the number of required fields is equal in both systems before you continue.
Can any one suggest on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
Try this it should solve the issue.
It seems that there is something wrong with your configuartion for the external service desk.
If possible could you remove the external service desk from in
Transaction ICTCONF and redefine it again?
Once you have done that please do the following steps:
    - Go to the Solution Manager project
    - Open the dialog to connect to a QC project
    - Confirm the dialog.
This will update the assignment with all technical details.
You can check the results in the Site Admin. There navigate to the corresponding QC project and check the content of table BLUEPRINTS. There should be exactly 1 entry with the relevant information for the service desk integration (see attached "BLUEPRINTS(QC).doc").
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Raghavendra.

  • Solution Manager 7.1 upgrade or configuration in Solman 7.0 EHP1

    Hi,
We have a Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 and there is a project now to configure several functionalities on it such as Charm and Services desk among others.  We have the option of configuring all the functionalities in SOlman 7.0 EHP1 or upgrading to 7.1 and then configure the functionalities in the new version.
I would like to know if anybody has implemented an upgrade of Solman 7.0 EHP1 to Solman 7.1 with some functionalities implemented.
I would like as well if in the fact the the Solman 7.0 EHP1 has several functionalities implemented complicates the upgrade to Solman 7.1. The fact that the upgrade is more complicated due to all the functionalities configured, would be important factor  to upgrade to 7.1 instead configure it in 7.0 EHP1.
Any information about this would be appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance!
    Raquel

Newer functionality and more holistically speaking, an ALM Tool, arguably one of the best in the market should be more than enough to take you to 7.1
if all you have is EWA, there is no major risk associated, the new 7.1 has new transaction types for ChaRM and Service Desk, the functionalities of which are better rounded and can support more enterprise wide processes.
Graphical Business Blueprint tool, my favorite feature in 7.1 and enhanced features in Project Implementation tools will only help you manage your implementations/support projects better.
If all you have is EWA, I have half a mind to ask you to do a fresh install, and not bother with the upgrade. Saves you time and lot of effort as well.

  • In need of Blueprints template

    Good day SAP gurus/ veterans
I have just entered a project which has just moved into the blueprinting phase and I am to assist the functional lead on the blueprint preparation. I am not experienced in the blueprint design phase so any assisting documents would be very helpful. I was hoping whether someone could share with me a blueprint template and/ or QA examples to go about in the preparation.
Will reward points for all useful help provided.
    Thanks.

thanks for effort azam but it wasn't really what i was looking for.
i was looking forward to a sample of blueprint template. we are to start getting into making (or use solman) for Q&A db. I was looking for tips on some help to get started on that then continue forward from our client requirements.

  • Queries on Business Process Monitoring (BPM) & Interface Monitoring

    Dear all,
I have got a few queries on the subject and would greatly appreciate any valuable inputs.
Before I proceed, want to clarify that I have downloaded all overtly available  documents (PDFs, SIMs) from the following URLs:
    http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman
    http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager  Media Library
    http://service.sap.com/bpm Media Library
I may not have read them all though since I come from a Functional angle.
Kindly reply to whatever query you can please. Not all of them are sequential.
    Queries:
    (1) How are Interfaces with External Systems (beyond the firewall of the enterprise) monitored ?
    (2) Is it really worth listing all such External Systems as Logical Components in their own right ? I guess this makes sense if at a Process Step level, one wants to list a 'specific' Logical Component involved instead of 'generic' term like External System. However, it would benefit only if Interface Monitoring is feasible; isn't it ?
    (3) There are Interfaces which are built between SAP and External System and serve various Business Processes under various Business Scenarios. In such circumstances,  it is not easy to list which Process 'owns' the Interface. Therefore, under a normal Implementation Project structure (SOLAR02), choosing a particular Process Step, getting into 'Development' Tab and listing the Interface Program name may not be feasible, since there is no particular place where it belongs.
Is it therefore a good idea to create namesake Scenario for capturing all interfaces and list a library of all interfaces and store documents right there ? If so, will these namesake processes be of any use in BPM at a later date ?
    (4) If my primary objective is to accomplish Interface Monitoring and not Business Process Monitoring per se, is it a good idea to create a new Solution Landscape, and manually create Business Processes that are suited to list Interfaces than to assign Template or Implementation Project to the Solution Landscape, and inherit those Processes ?
    (5) What is it that a SAP Competence (Support) Centre will find as a 'major' gain in activating BPM to monitor Interfaces alone - is there something that SolMan's BPM based Interface Monitoring gives more than what PI level reporting may provide them with ?
    (6) In Interfaces with Non-SAP Systems (some of them are old/ proprietary legacy systems with Credit Card companies; some of them are like 'Active Directory' servers), is it possible to define Metrics for BPM that such systems will contribute to SolMan, for reporting purposes ? Or, is it too much to hope for
Thanks again, for your patience and advance thanks for your kind responses.

    Hi,
    Welcome to BPM
You have asked too many questions in a single Post, Please read rules of engagement before posting
You can monitor the following without any trouble.
    ●      ALE/EDI
    ●      qRFC
    1) Its obvious, if your firewall blocks all your request to external enterprise, it is not possible to monitor.
    3) These interfaces are not the one related to development tab in SOLAR02, you have to map them from BPM.
    4) Yes, you don't have to depend on any project for your processes, you can add it in your Solution Landscape.
    5) Post a Separate Thread!!!

  • Monitoring Related Queries - BPIM

    Dear All,
We are planning to implement Business Process & Inteface Monitoring - first phase mainly involving application specific mointoring and interface monitoring. I have few queries on the same. Would be great if you can help in same:
    1) Our present DB is about 35TB. If we implement BPMon in SolMan then how we can make sure that performance of monitored systems like ECC, SRM, etc are not impacted while data collection by local CCMS and then passed to SolMan Cental CCMS. There could be possibility of thousands of open sales order globally at various loc. so that data when collected should have some impact on system performance.
    2) What are the Best Practices & recommendation on BPMon side, specifically for cross application monitoring like ABAP Dumps, Update Errors and Batch Files. I have links for SAP Standard slides so please dont share those one from mkt place.
    3) Any strategic document from your side to show how it was proposed /implemented in some project/clients with real time examples as that will give more clarity.
    4) Escalation Mgmt / Corrective Measure procedure - Any standard facility available for escalation management. Also we are looking for some task assignment kind of feature where alerts action can be assigned to various project team members by process experts for needful, etc.
    Thanks in advance.
    SM

    Hello Suchit,
    1. There is no guarantee that the collector will not influence the performance, however they are written in a way which should not drastically affect the system. If you are in doubt I would suggest running a chosen TBI report (in ST13), which more or less illustrates the data collector and tracing results (especially performance trace).
    2. If you have SAP slides you should be able to find best practices, I believe that the goal of BPMon is to monitor application/process specific errors. That's why also for example ABAP dumps monitor has a selection on what is dumping, so you could search only among errors belonging to your process. In my case we created a separate BP calles cross-process monitoring and we monitor there things that are critical but not possible to assign just to one process.
    3. The only "strategic" document is a technical documentation of BPMon, as SAP will not identify your critical business processes and tell you how to monitor them (at least not for free ).
    4. That depends what kind of tool you are using for the incident management. You can utilize email notifications if you don't have a specific tools, otherwise you might consider building your own BAPi to support your IM tool.

  • Configuring HP-Openview to monitor alerts of CCMS in SAP system via SOLMAN

    Hi All,
I need to configure CCMS in SOLMAN and then monitor the same alerts via HP-Openview because thats what is used in my company to monitor alerts.I have a few queries regarding the same:
    1. Is it possible to configure CCMS in SOLMAN and then monitor the same alerts via HP-Openview.
    2. How actually does HP-Openview work regarding picking up monitoring data from CCMS in SAP.
    3. Does it work like CCMS would be generating logs of the alerts and stored some where and we could congigure HP-OV to look for a keyword in the logfile by giving HP-OV the path of that logfile and as soon as it comes across that keyword it would generate an alert.
    4. Do we need any addon to be downloaded ( also want to know whether its free or cost is involved) and configured in SAP under CCMS that would help Hp-OV to detect alerts.
