BW Statistics 0BWTC_C10 in BW 3.5
We have the BW Stats multi cube(0BWTC_C10) which currently consists of six cubes.
1. BW Statistics OLAP 0BWTC_C02
2. BW Statistics - OLAP, Detail Navigation 0BWTC_C03
3. BW Statistics - Aggregates 0BWTC_C04
4. BW Statistics - WHM 0BWTC_C05
5. BW Statistics: Condensing InfoCubes 0BWTC_C09
6. BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes 0BWTC_C11
We have the data in all except 0BWTC_C02
Now I want to load the data in to it and want to develop some queries on the MultiProvider(0BWTC_C10)
Can any one help me in how to load the data to 0BWTC_C02??
Any help much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
BH
Hi Sesh,
1)
0BWTC_C02 is replaced by 3 cubes: 0TCT_MC01, 0TCT_MC02 and 0TCT_MC03
(here each mulitprovider is based on 2 cubes, one basic cube and one virtual cube.
For ex, 0TCT_MC01 has basic cube 0TCT_C01 and virtual cube 0TCT_VC01, the naming convention is same for rest 0TCT_C* and 0TCT_VC*)
Hope the above is clear
0BWTC_C03 was referring to RSDDSTAT table before, but this table has become obsolete in BI 7.0. Corrections have made to the extractor in BI 7.0 SAP_BW SP 9 such that the extractor refers to RSDDSTAT_OLAP. So you can use this cube as the way you were using in BW 3.x if you are above or equal to SP 9.
0BWTC_C04 - no migration is required, technical content 3.x is still valid.
0BWTC_C05 - is replaced by 0TCT_MC23 (0TCT_C23 and 0TCT_VC23)
0BWTC_C09 - no migration is required, technical content 3.x is still valid.
0BWTC_C11 - no migration is required, technical content 3.x is still valid.
2) There is virtual provider for all the replaced cubes, but the old cubes for which migration is not required dont have virtual cubes.
3) The new multiproviders have virtual cubes alreday.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Rajani

If I want to build a query which shows the relationship between workbooks and there queries is the best way to activate BW Metadata (0BWTC_C08) InfoProvider and include it in the BW Statistics (0BWTC_C10) multicube or is there another way? Thanks
Hi Niten,
The BW metadata cube is already part of the BW Stats Multiprovider so you can chosse it if it has not been selected in the multi-provider.

Dinesh -
We currently use BW Statistics (0BWTC_C10) to build queries. However, the multicube does not by default have 0CalMonth as a time characteristic. I have the option of selecting this and moving across. What are the consequences and is this okay to do? Thanks
Hello Niten,
you can go ahead and selct the time characteristics. you can have reporting done on this additional time char too henceforth.
Nothing which exists would be affected by this.

Frontend Trend Monitoring - Monthly trends for queries
I am currently working on a front end, to get result for the Top 10 Worst Performing Queries.
I need to get the query for each and every month as per the user specification, in a Descending order for every month.
I think, it is not possible to get the results for all the queries, for all the months at one go.
Please let me know, if it is possible.
The important thing is that, I need to present the above obtained data, in a graphical manner, for trend analysis.Hello Hitesh,
Better to install Technical Business content, BW Statistics - 0BWTC_C10 is the multiprovider . To get reports on queries you can install 0BWTC_C03 cube- BW-Statistics OLAP,Detail Navigation.
Hope this gives you some idea....

BW Statistics vs. BI Administration Cockpit
Hi to All,
A question for all the guru's out there.
I'm new to 2004s (who isn't). I used to work with BW Statistics on 3.5.
We received our first BI 7.0 system last week.
As a general prep i want to activate BW statistics on this 2004s system.
I got the following question:
When i look at the BI Content i see that most of the content of BW statistics (part of the multiprovider 0BWTC_C10) i know (not all) is in the infoarea named "BW statistics 3.5 (No longer install)"
What part of BW statistics is useful to install, just the BI statistics (without the "old" 3.5 elements) so these can be used within the BI administration cockpit?
Thanx in advance!Hi Rene,
All the 0TCT* stuff.
You can check all the steps to take in SPRO > SAP NetWeaver > Business Intelligence > Settings for BI Content > Business Intelligence > BI Administration Cockpit.

Bw statistics- technical cubes
Hi
I hav a question on BW Statistics. I wud like to know as we hav 6 basic cubes , is it necessary to install all of the basic cubes or we can install only few among them. if so plz let me know as which cubes r most important.
2) i wud like to know if we install all of the cubes, wether it needs lot of resources to maintain them.
3) my client has asked me to design technical specs as which cubes might be useful, and which reports r necessary.
so , can anyone help me on dis....
Thanks in advance..
kumarHi
The most important cubes are: 0BWTC_C02 and 0BWTC_C03 and the multi provider 0BWTC_C10, as they provide basic user statistics.
But my suggestion would be to activate all the statistics content at once, as the installation of objects itself doesn't take much resources. After installation, you can choose not to load data to certain cubes, if you find it not relevant.
hope this helps. -
ST03, RSDDSTAT and 0BWTC_C10
Hello,
I wonder how the performance data of table RSDDSTAT, transaction ST03
and statistics cube 0BWTC_C10 relate to each other.
When I check what kind of SQL statement ST03 -> BW System Load produces
I get a simple query for table RSDDSTAT. When I perform the query myself,
I get different results than what I see in ST03.
For example, ST03 shows 205.126 navigational steps in November 2007.
Checking which SQL statement was executed via ST05 and performing
exactly the same select myself on Oracle I get 218.171 navigational steps
from table RSDDSTAT.
To make things really complicated, when I create a SAP Query
and select the data from InfoProvider 0BWTC_C10 I only get 182.477
navigatonal steps in November 2007.
How can such differences be explained?
Regards,
MarkHi Mark,
Difference in the performance can be explained in ST03.
ST03 clearly explains you about how much data transfered and how many records retried in the query.it also tells you how much time it taken to open a particular query.
You can also check in the table RSAGGRRDIR

Difference: BI Statistics 3.x to 7.0
Hello All,
we want to implement a cost sharing model regarding our different InfoAreas.
Therefore, we want to use BI Statistics.
In the old BI Statistics 3.x I find a multicube 0BWTC_C10 which provides all key figures that we need and additionally the navigation object InfoArea.
But as we migrated to 7.0 I read that certain InfoCubes have been replaced, for example
0tct_mc01 replaces 0bwtc_c02
0tct_mc02 replaces 0bwtc_c02 and so on.
However, I cannot find a multicube which combines all of these new InfoCubes.
Here my question:
Do I have to use the new infocubes or can I also load my query statistics (new 7.0 queries) into the old infocubes and use the old multicubes?
Can I also use the old infocubes for data loading statistics also I use new technology - I still use infopackages and DTPs?
Thank you in advance.
best regards,
IlonaThe old Statistics related targets are obsolete and have to go ahead with the new COCKPIT targets.
So if you want to read the earlier statistics information you can use RSA1OLD and then you can check the information of the historical data. In Bi7.0 the earlier data is not been migrated and hence you need to work with the new data flow.
In terms of DTP's its optional.
Hope this helps.. -
BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes.
Hi,
I want to see data in BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes.
I am working on BI 7.
I have set the infoprovider in Tcode RSDDSTAT.Marked 2 Infocube statistics ( X) and OLAP(2).
Already activated the BI Statistics.
I am deleting data from one of the cube . But when I go to cube 0BWTC_C11(BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes)
It is not showing any data .
I can't see any data in RSDDSTATDELE table also
Do I need to do any other setting ? Am I missing any steps?
I need to dislay the log for deleted request /deleted data ?
I need to display the log for deleted infoobject/infopackage also? Where can i get this ?
Pls guide .
Regards
NileshHi Venkat,
I can not able to see in the report also . I have tried 0BWTC_C10/0BWTC_C10_Q251 to 254.
Whenever I am doing to delete it individullay it goes to table SDDSTATDELE .But whenever I am deleting whole data from cube or request ID it is not updating table RSDDSTATDELE.( which is further used to get data )
<b>I got this from SAP help .</b>
The characteristic can have the following characteristic values C,N,D and T:
C (Choose): The system automatically chooses the best delete mode. This is N or D.
N (Create New): If over 10% of an InfoCubes data records are to be deleted, the system replaces the InfoCube fact table with a table with data records that are not to be deleted.
If you want to delete more than 10% of the records, the system creates a new table, copies the data records you want to keep to the new table, deletes the old table and then renames the new table.
D (Delete): If you want to delete less than 10% of the data records, the system deletes these individual records directly from the InfoCube fact table.
<b>T<b> (Truncate): If you want to delete all data records, the system deletes all data records from the tables, but retains the tables in the database.</b></b>
So how to see these records? I am doing full upload to cube 0BWTC_C11(BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes).
Before this do I need to extract data for other CUBE also.
Pls suggest .

BW statistics cube "BW Data Slice"
Hi,
What is the use of the Statistics cube "BW Data Slice(0BWTC_C06)". I see that same datasource used for both the datargets BW Data Slice and Requests in the InfoCube (0BWTC_C07) but the standard infopackage selects only 0BWTC_C07 for update.
Also can anyone point me to some documentations where I can get the defination/meaning of the key figures for the Statistics multiprovider (0BWTC_C10). I have a requirement where I have to create custom statistics queries to report on overall BW performance, so I need to know what those key figures represents.
Thanks a lotHi BW,

Statistics Currency Error while posting Sales Order (No: V1453)
Hi Sappers,
I am in process of making a company in SAP ERP SD - IDES, and while posting Sales Order, after I input Sold to Party, PO no, Del Plant and Incoterms and I press ENTER: The error comes up as:
Statistics: The currency from in INR for date 25.11.2011 could not be determined.
Kindly suggest a possible solution.
Thanks
Rahul TikkuHi,
Just go to "OBD2", select the Accounts group of your customer and "Double Click" on it, then "Double cliick" on "Sales Data" > Further goto, "Sales" and check if "Currency" field is suppressed. if so then change it to required or optional Entry. save and update you customer master in XD02. Then try your process.

How oracle decide whetehr to use index or full scan (statistics)
Hi Guys,
Let say i have a index on a column.
The table and index statistics has been gathered. (without histograms).
Let say i perform a select * from table where a=5;
Oracle will perform a full scan.
But from which statistics it will be able to know indeed most of the column = 5? (histograms not used)
After analyzing, we get the below:
Table Statistics :
(NUM_ROWS)
(BLOCKS)
(EMPTY_BLOCKS)
(AVG_SPACE)
(CHAIN_COUNT)
(AVG_ROW_LEN)
Index Statistics :
(BLEVEL)
(LEAF_BLOCKS)
(DISTINCT_KEYS)
(AVG_LEAF_BLOCKS_PER_KEY)
(AVG_DATA_BLOCKS_PER_KEY)
(CLUSTERING_FACTOR)
thanks
Index Column (A)
======
1
1
2
2
5

5I have prepared some explanation and have not noticed that the topic has been marked as answered.
This my sentence is not completely true.
A column "without histograms" means that the column has only one bucket. More correct: even without histograms there are data in dba_tab_histograms which we can consider as one bucket for whole column. In fact these data are retrieved from hist_head$, not from histgrm$ as usual buckets.
Technically there is no any buckets without gathered histograms.
Let's create a table with skewed data distribution.
SQL> create table t as
2 select least(rownum,3) as val, '*' as pad
3 from dual
4 connect by level <= 1000000;
Table created
SQL> create index idx on t(val);
Index created
SQL> select val, count(*)
2 from t
3 group by val;
VAL COUNT(*)
1 1
2 1
3 999998So, we have table with very skewed data distribution.
Let's gather statistics without histograms.
SQL> exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats( user, 'T', estimate_percent => 100, method_opt => 'for all columns size 1', cascade => true);
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed
SQL> select blocks, num_rows from dba_tab_statistics
2 where table_name = 'T';
BLOCKS NUM_ROWS
3106 1000000
SQL> select blevel, leaf_blocks, clustering_factor
2 from dba_ind_statistics t
3 where table_name = 'T'
4 and index_name = 'IDX';
BLEVEL LEAF_BLOCKS CLUSTERING_FACTOR
2 4017 3107
SQL> select column_name,
2 num_distinct,
3 density,
4 num_nulls,
5 low_value,
6 high_value
7 from dba_tab_col_statistics
8 where table_name = 'T'
9 and column_name = 'VAL';
COLUMN_NAME NUM_DISTINCT DENSITY NUM_NULLS LOW_VALUE HIGH_VALUE
VAL 3 0,33333333 0 C102 C104So, Oracle suggests that values between 1 and 3 (raw C102 and C104) are distributed uniform and the density of the distribution is 0.33.
Let's try to explain plan
SQL> explain plan for
2 select --+ no_cpu_costing
3 *
4 from t
5 where val = 1
6 ;
Explained
SQL> @plan

I have disabled cpu costing, so selectivity does not affect the cost of FTS.
cost of Index Range Scan is calculated as
blevel + (leaf_blocks * selectivity + clustering_factor * selecivity) = 2 + (4017*0.33333 + 3107*0.33333) = 2377.
Oracle considers that it has to read 2 root/branch blocks of the index, 1339 leaf blocks of the index and 1036 blocks of the table.
Pay attention that selectivity is the major component of the cost of the Index Range Scan.
Let's try to gather histograms:
SQL> exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats( user, 'T', estimate_percent => 100, method_opt => 'for columns val size 3', cascade => true);

3 1000000ENDPOINT_VALUE is the column value (in number for any type of data) and ENDPOINT_NUMBER is cumulative number of rows.

Cost of the FTS is still the same = 300,
but cost of the Index Range Scan is 4 now: 2 root/branch blocks + 1 leaf block + 1 table block.
Thus, conclusion: histograms allows to calculate selectivity more accurate. The aim is to have more efficient execution plans.
