BW Workspace in Analysis Office

Hello fellows,
I am evaluating the workspace function for Analysis Office. AO Client is on version 1.4.8.3163.
I have already a BW Workspace defined and tested successfully the upload of a Local Provider and combination of a Local Provider with the Central Provider by creating a local CompositeProvider via the Workspace Designer (NW Business Client). Everything works fine so far.
In my scenario I want to define texts (descriptions) for a certain InfoObject (Pay Method), that has only KeyValues. The local Provider looks like this:
ID
Description
0
credit card
1
cash
2
bank transfer
3
bill
In AO Excel client the upload of that local provider works, if I select the for both columns the type "texts". But if I want to select the Type Dimension (InfoObject) I get an error, which states that the local provider XYZ could not be created, without further explanation. I also traced the error via BW-Trace in rstt, but the error was described the same short way like in AO Client. I suggest that selecting Type Dimension is just an indicator to define the column with the data type of the InfoObject (like a template). It isn´t clear to me why this error occurs.
In the next step I want to create a CompositeProvider, via AO client by adding the respective query on top of the central provider of the workspace to my workbook. After selecting the cell of the the query result the "Add" Button becomes active an I want to add the data created beforehand with the local provider. Now I don´t get the local provider for selection. Only the CompositeProvider I created via the NW Workspace Designer. The CompositeProvider has the same dimensions and key figures like the Query (based in central Provider) in the workbook.
If I add the CompProv I get an error which states "Der Index lag außerhalb des Bereichs. Er muss nicht negativ und kleiner als die Auflistung sein." I use the german Client... Its something like: the index is out of range of the cross table.
Can somebody help me on this?
Thanks for the help!
Regards
Waldemar

Thanks for the hints, but I tried already to format the the ID Column before like the following table, I just didn`t make that clear in my first post, sorry for that.
ID
Description
00
credit card
01
cash
02
bank transfer
03
bill
I also tried to set the same columnheader like the InfoObject, but the same error occured. I just did the same steps like in this tutorial Analysis 1.3: Upload local data to an SAP BW Workspace
I also tried to log the error by using the support options AO providing. Like BW-Tracing, Error Logs (logs only the error related to the index out of range issue, described for adding the CP in AO), NCO-Tracing ( even this makes no sence, since it tracks the .net RFC-Calls)
For me this looks like an error in the interface of BW and AO. Because the BW-Trace states it is an OLAP-Message Handler Exception:
My BW-System is on version 7.40 SP7 on HANA 1.00.74.01. Maybe someone had the same Issues with this system Configuration. If I Add the the local provider, with texts Datatype, like a "normal" DataSource from the BW Workspace, everything works fine. But If I want to cobbine my query result with this local Provider by Adding a CP from AO the local Prov isn´t shown, because the LP is not realted to dimension, I guess. Searched all SAP Notes already related to the topic Workspaces in Analysis Excel

  • Analysis Office vs Webi report ---Bex query Data mismatch

    I have one Bex query.
I insterted the query in Analysis office for Microsoft edition, and its pulling 985 records, but when i inserted the bex query in Webi report its pulling only 27 records. Any body faced similar problem, explain the solution..?
Using BICS connction for webi report development.
    Environment: BI 4.1 SP5
    Anlaysis office version :  1.4 SP10

    Hi Ingo,
If we make it database delegated then the Webi query returns no results. (Blank results). Moreover there is no exception aggregation
We have tried the following and getting the result correctly,
In the Bex Query We had a Time variable which was based on SAP exit. We removed the SAP exit variable from Bex Query and restricted the period for atime range.
Then created a Prompt in Webi report for the time
    The result is matching.
But still failed to undrstand this because other queries which have SAP exit variables works fine.
Still working around for a convincing solution for this.. Will let you know

  • Reg: If changes done in SAP BO Analysis office, then Changes can be done in SAP BW in respective targets. But, is it possible to do the same changes in SAP ECC? How?

    Hello Everyone,
If any changes are done in SAP BO Analysis office, then the change can be done in the SAP BW in the respective Targets.
But how can we do the changes in the SAP ECC ? Is it possible to do the changes in the tables ?
    Any answer is appreciable
    Regards,
    Karteek

We are using the "Input ready Bex query", in order to modify the values in "BO Analysis office".
    ECC               BI               BO Analysis office
    1  ------------->   1   ---------->         1   ------
                                                                            |
                                                                            | (Now Data is changed in Analysis office from 1 to 2)
                                                                            |
    (?) <--------------   2 <----------         2 <-----
(Will it be updated in ECC)
    (Diagram Explanation)
From ECC we can load the data (Consider Value-1) to SAP BI and from SAP BI we can load the data to BO analysis office.
So, now if we change the data in BO Analysis office (Value-1 changed to Value-2)..
Now the data is changed in SAP BI to Value-2.
So what about the data in ECC ? Whether it is changed or not?
Please provide us a real time business Scenario..
    Thanks,
    Karteek

    Hello Everyone,

    Hi
    Thank you for your post.
The reason why your contacts didn't display is currently the Tamil language is not supported by the Windows 7.5 OS and we do not have any information if this language will be supported in the future or not. The current list of supported languages are:
Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Swedish.
In regards to being a smart phone, these come from a variety of manufactures using a variety operating systems each having there own unique way of functioning and features and as such it is the responsibility of the consumers to make an informed choice on what device would suit them based on specifications of the device which includes hard ware or software. There is no unified smartphone requirements as each use's different operating systems.
So when purchasing a new device it is advisable to do some research on what device would suit your needs and if need be to speak to your local authorised mobile phone retailers for there expert advice. If at the point of purchase you were mis-advised and told that the Windows OS did support the Tamil language then this is something you will need to go back to the point of purchase otherwise it is your responsibility to make sure you choose a device that fully suit your needs.

  • Integrated Planning data entry via Analysis Office 1.4 SP7

    Hi folks
I am following your blogs on Analysis office and have a simple question
We run at customer site analysis 1.4 SP7
I try to use it with a SAP BW IP query
In Bex and web my query works fine..
Data can be entered and changed
Opening the query as datasource in Analysis excel
( planning is turned on in settings of Analysis Excel) will not allow me to interact with the ribbon button for planning
    All buttons are inactive
Any idea... Am I missing a step to use IP entry ready queries in Analysis excel?
    Any help is  highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Joerg

    Hi Jorg,
Once you insert the data source and do some planning on it, say change the input enabled fields. The planning ribbon should get active then.
    Did you try this already?
You could also check the thread : SAP Advanced Analysis for Excel - Writing Back & Update and make sure that this is not the case for you.

  • Differences between Hyperion Workspace, Web Analysis and Financial Reportin

    Hello,
Can anybody explain me the differences between Hyperion Workspace, Web Analysis and Financial Reporting?
    Thank you

    In real simple terms....
Financial reporting - Perfect for producing standardised monthly reporting such as P&L, balance sheets etc. Highly formatted, print well in PDF format.
Web Analysis - Highly graphical, web based analysis tool more suited to dashboards, pinboards etc with slice and dice capability.
Workspace - Common environment where reporting content in deployed. Users can access web anlysis, fin reports, Interactive reports plus other content through the workspace. It was the start of the 'log on to one place for all reporting' concept instead og logging on to multiple products.
    Hope that helps

  • Is it possible to group the dimensions and measures into respective folders in SAP BO Analysis office - excel?

    Hi Guys,
We can group the similar dimensions or measures into folders in Universe which can be further consumed in other BO reporting tools.
Is it possible to do the same while connecting AO with HANA?
I want to group similar dimensions and measures so that it comes as respective folders in AO and makes the experience for the user better. Is it possible?
    Regards,
    Krishna Tangudu

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply. If this feature is not present or not in the roadmap too then i might have to follow the same solution as well.
Hoping Tammy Powlas has some answer for this.

  • BO Advanced Analysis - Office Edition  / Switch off key suppression

When connecting directly to a DSO/cube. Where it the option to switch off the repeated key value suppression?
Thanks for all replies in advance,
    Axel

Well.... I don't want to hide the values. It is the other way around .... the values should be on all rows displayed and not "grouped". In a BW query it is called suppress key display with same value and you can switch it on and off.

  • Currency Translation in BO 4.0 Analysis Edition Office 1.1

    Hi,
We are using Analysis Edition Office 1.1 for reporting and SAP BW system as source. After I create the report, I would like to change the currency for USD instead of report currency which is CAD. We have an option of Currency Translation available (in Measures), however when I try to use this option to convert the values to USD, it throws an error message:
    An exception occurred.
Send the attached log file to your administrator.
SAP BI Addin will be closed.
If you want to save the data in the document, you must save a copy of the document because the data needed for  the addin functions cannot be saved correctly. (ID102001)
I also checked 'Advanced Options' in User Settings, so that in the Currency Translation window 'Use Currency Translation from Query Definition' was enabled. But this option is greyed out in my reports.
Now, if I run the same report for testing in BEx Analyzer, the currency translation works as expected. This would mean that it may not be a problem in the BEx query settings.
Is there something I am missing or some settings in Analysis Office 1.1 I need to configure to get this working ?
    Thanks,
    Prasad

Have you downloaded the latest version of Analysis Office, version 1.2, which has been GA since January 31st?  It is now on SP 4.
I would download the latest version of Analysis Office to see if that works.

  • BOBJ Advanced Analysis for Office patch SP10

I imported the analysis product into my existing SAP Installation Server.  When I import patch 5 or patch 8, no problem.  But when I import patch 10 and then check server, it says I'm missing 12 files.  If I try to install to a workstation I see the same errors (11 files).  If you just apply patch 10 directly to a workstation without using the installation server, it gives no errors.  It seems that the install script for the server is just wrong.  Some of the files it is looking for are actually missing.  Others are there in the AAO folder, but they're not in the subfolders that it's looking in.  Has anyone else seen this and is there a solution?  Thanks.

    Hello Jurg,
First, try to uninstall what you have and restart the workstation installed. Download the latest version of the Analysis Office, for the 1.0 is the SP12 and for the 1.1 is the SP4. After install it and check how it will work.
Pay attention if your are trying to install the 1.1. We have 2 files, the 32 and 64 bit.

  • Analysis for Office - Security

    Hello,
Our Basis team has deployed 'Analysis for Office' in our BO 4.1 system.
However, I am unable to see this Application in CMC in teh List of all Applications..
I need to configure Secuity for thsi Applciation. How do we do that if the applicaiton is not in CMC?
    Thanks.

    Hello tammy,
I did check the Admin Guide for Analysis Office: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/AMS13/en/13_aaoffice_admin_en.pdf
    From what I understand:
    - Analysis for Office software needs to be installed on the individual PC of the users who want to use it.
    - This will enable an option on the MS Excel/MS Word/etc. called Advanced Analysis
    - The user can directly connect to the BW system. The data available to the user depends on the Authorization that the user has in BW system.
    - There is no additional Security needed for "Analysis Office" itself.
Please correct me if I have missed anything.
