CA - Year End 2011 Planning Question

I am planning to do a Stack Upgrade for this year on ECC EHP4 to Stack level 8. But I am wondering if I should wait until Stack 9 is released at the end of this month. The main driver for the stack upgrade is component SAP_HR & EA_HR.
Last year, we got to SAP_HR level 23 and then applied the CLC. If I apply Stack level 8 it only gets me to level SAP_HR 26. Looking at the releases for SAP_HR it states that #42 will require stack 9 and is listed as a sycnchro point for 2011 and also #36 will be synchro point.
I don't want to do 2 stack upgrades in one year. Will SAP_HR #36 be the synchro point ? or will SAP_HR #42 be the synchro point.
What is the best approach - apply stack 8 and then go to SAP_HR 36 and apply CLC from there ? or apply Stack 9 and go to SAP_HR and either apply CLC or all other releases required for SAP_HR & EA_HR for year end.

Hi Andrew,
I understand there are two synchro points: one at stack 8 (which requires SP 36) and other at stack 9 (which requires SP 42). The decision about which one to apply is yours. If you go to stack 8, afterwards you will be required to apply more CLCs that going to stack 9. On the other hand if you apply stack 8 you will be up to date with your system earlier and will be able to avoid eventual issues.

  • CA - Year End 2011

Recently we applied the required year end payroll patches to our clients DEV and QAS systems. The requirement was to patch SAP_HR from level 64 to 74, including all the SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, PI_BASIS and all other prerequisite patches.
After applying year end payroll patching, it was noticed that in table view V_512W_D the validity period of many standard wage types was changed.  For the wage types affected, the new validity period starts on 01/01/2012.  While this in itself is not a major issue, we have some concerns about other standard SAP objects that may have been affected by the year end payroll patching.
How can we find out about other tables that may have been affected in a similar fashion?

It is normal to have some WTs delimited at the beginning of the fiscal year to respond to the Legal Changes, as they require changes a Processing Class or Cumulator.  Look into the Master Canadian Year-End Note (and the related Notes) for all the information.
Furthermore, the same happens to some constants (in V_T511K) and to some Tax parameters.

  • Asset Explorer -- Acquisition Value Year-End

    Dear all,
I'm looking on how to fetch a certain value...
If you access transaction AS03 You'll see th master data for a certain asset.
Now... if you click on the "Asset value"-button, you'll be redirected to transaction AW01N, "Asset Explorer".
In the asset explorer (under the "Posted values"-tab) there is a table. This table contains a row "Acquisition value" and a column "Year-End".
My question is, how to get this value (which table.field and/or which Function module)?
It looks like this (png screenshot)

    Dear Kiran,
Thanks for the advice on the BAPI function.
It seems it doesn't contain this value.
    Thank you.
    Dear Gautham,
    Is this ANLCV a structure-table?
I cannot browse this table with the data-browser [SE16].
Can I only browse/fetch data from this table through creating a new function module, or is there an easier way?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • End of contract questions (Data plan and upgrade eligibility)

    Hi All,
I found another thread also titled "End of contract questions" and it was very helpful but I want to make sure I'm not mistaken in any way.  Here's my scenario:
    2 Line Plan
    ME (primary): 2-year contract, unlimited Data (10/15/10 - 10/15/12)
    WIFE: 1-year contract, unlimited data (10/15/10 - 10/15/11)
I signed her up for a 1-year contract on the advice of the Verizon rep that was helping us.  It ended up netting an additional cost of $70-100 (I forget exactly) but it was worth it in my opinion because I knew that one of us would be able to get a new phone in 1 year as opposed to 2.
So here are the specific questions:
    1.  Verizon has done away with 1-year contracts.  This means that whenever my wife goes in to renew her contract (and get a new device), she will need to sign a 2 year contract, correct?  All further questions will be posed based on a "yes" answer to this one.
    2.  Assuming she has to sign a 2-year contract, will she still be able to retain her unlimited data plan?
    3.  Assuming she signs up for a 2-year contract, will she still be able to get "loyalty" pricing or whatever they're calling it now (used to be "new every 2")?  Is she even eligible for anything since she's not the primary on the line?
    4.  In the other thread titled "End of contract questions..." it was mentioned that "The loyalty discount expires 6 months after it becomes available -- so 2 months after your contract ends".  Is this correct?
    5.  Currently, if I go to MyVerizon and hover over the "?" next to my number and "Eligible for a discount" it says:  "You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing. If you upgrade on or after 6/15/12 you are eligible to receive an additional loyalty discount. "  I intend to wait for my line as it still has a year on the contract however when I do the same for my wife's line it says:  You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing."  Does it not mention the Loyalty discount because it's not applicable to a secondary line?  Or perhaps because it's implied since she's technically out of her contract period?
I'm trying to make heads or tails of this.  At the time, it sounded like a great idea (her on a 1-year, me/primary on a 2-year).  I'm hoping it will work out for us so that every year, one of us will be eligible for a new line.  I'm only concerned with the unlimited data aspect being that she's going to be going from a 1-year to a 2-year and also the actual loyalty/discount aspect.
Thanks in advance for anyone who helps!!

  • Back up plan for Asset year end closing

    Hi,
Do you have any back plan prepared for Asset year end closing especially t.code AJRW and AJAB (running this in Background).
what back up plan we should recommend if it fails for already happened activities.
    Regards
    Shanu

    Hi Shanu,
    there is a Test-run modus.
If it fails for some reasons, you will get a error message. Then you solve this error and repeat  AJRW or AJAB.

  • Time series questions - how to do AGO function for prior year end

Question on how to perform the following calculation in OBIEE:
I need to create a time series calculation that will calculate a metric as of Dec prior year. For example, my users will select Mar 2010. I want to show the amount for Mar 10 as well as the amount for Dec 09. If the select Jun 10, I will show them the amount for that month as well as Dec 09.
Is there a way to do an AGO function that will give me this value? I can't use a filter calculation on my column because filter on the period will exclude these records

Thanks John. Your suggestions seems promising but I'm having issues when I tried it out. I am receiving the following error message:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 22046] To use AGO function, the query level ('Fiscal Period, Prior Fiscal Year End Date') must be a static level. (HY000)
What I did was create a new level off my Fiscal Time dimension which is a child of Total. I tried creating my AGO calculation using this level but received that error message in Asnwers. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

  • Re - Process asset accounting year end process

    Hi,
Case- XYZ company is already on K4 fiscal year variant, they want to switch from K4 (calendar year) to V3 (Non- calendar year).  Standard SAP process is to create shortened fiscal year for 3 months. But this is only allowed if no entries posted in new fiscal year. This XYZ company is already in the month of Feb. How can we manage this situation in SAP. Asset accounting is implemented in the system. Planned depreciation has already been calculated for 12 months, how can we rewrite planed depreciation? and depreciation has been posted for one Jan 2011.
Plan 1- Keep K4 variant as it is and control this with the help of OB52 to restrict posting. This will allow them to run their day to day process with out any errors in fiscal year 2011
Plan 2 - Maintain K4 as shortened fiscal year and update table T093C to allow system to identify that this 2011 fiscal year is shortened fiscal year. but in both cases question remains what to do with planned depreciation of remaining 9 months?
    Waiting for your feed back.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sany..

    Hi
The system will show you the list of Assets which are incomplete.
I think for the incomplete asset you have not assign the group asset.
Hence in AS02 transaction enter one by one the incomplete assets and complete the same. then run the AJAB transaction which will allow you to close the asset year.
if the answer is helpful kindly assign points

  • Asset Fiscal Year End Closing - Depreciation not posted completely in 2010

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue concerning AA 2010 year end closing, since there is one asset which depreciation in 2010 was not posted completely, meaning that we cannot close 2010 fiscal year.
This happened because of the following situation:
Vendor Incoice was posted in 30.12.2010, with a document date 31.03.2010 (meaning that for this asset the depreciation calculation start date was 01.03.2010). Then, in 30.03.2011 someone post the reversal document, with posting date 31.12.2010.
So for this asset I donu2019t have any depreciation posted in 2011 and no values in depreciation book, for the asset, meaning that even if I change the depreciation calculation start date for 01.01.2011, it will still be necessary to run depreciation in Dec.2010.
However I cannot run depreciation for this asset for 2010 because it will have impact in 2010 balance sheet, which cannot happen.
Do you have any ideas to solve this problem?
    Thanks!
    Best regards,
    Andreia Nascimento

    Hi,
As i have already suggested you for the [SIMILAR THREAD|Re: Asset Fiscal Year Closing not possible], which you have only posted in FI forum, there is no other alternative than running the repeat dep run for FY 2010 for period 12.
Please do not cross post your questions.

  • Asset year end closing issue

Hi, I run ajab to close year 2010 (not 2011)and encounter below issue:
Asset 004110000555-0000 in company code 0000 (depreciation incomplete)
    Message no. AU070
    Diagnosis
The planned depreciation was not completely posted to Financial Accounting for asset 004110000555-0000 in company code IN00 in depreciation area 90.
    System Response
Year-end closing cannot be carried out for company code IN00.
    Procedure
Post the depreciaton using the appropriate posting program (Periodic processing) in Financial Accounting. Then start a repeat run for this asset, if necessary
My depreciation area 90 is "Post assets periodically in General Ledger", what should I do?

    Hi
Is depreciation fully posted for the year 2010. Try to run AFAB in repeat mode for the last period of 2010 in test run to see if any values are coming for posting.
If depreciation values exist, then same needs to be posted before you close the Asset fiscal year.
Also please note for posting the depreciation your Fiscal year and period should be open in accounting.

    Hello community,
The Year-End 2014 webpage is available on Service Marketplace.
The following content can already be accessed and SAP will continue to update it during the year end period:
    - SAP Note 2053757: U.S. Tax Reporter Year End 2014 Announcement
    - Year End 2014 - Customer Letter
This letter contains important information on the delivery schedule, enhancements, training, communication and support planned for Year End 2014.
Pay special attention to the Minimum Support Package levels required to apply the year-end legal changes.
    - Other documents/checklist/guidelines related to Tax Reporter under Year End Reference Materials section (you may need to select “display all documents” to see all)
New SAP Notes relevant for Year End 2014 will be published on this page, and we will update this thread with this information too.

  • Turkey: year end close RFSUMB00 / fiscal year variant

    Hello guys,
I am wondering if anyone of you have had this requirement before.
Running RFSUMB00 on a Turkish company code will blow away the balances from all G/L accounts so that each individual account has a balance of 0.
    Questions:
    1. How do you manage revenue accounts (cost element categories 11 and 12). A pure cost centre is not enough as CO account assignment. You can switch off error message KI 166 (so that no COPA documents are then created), but is this really wanted?
    2. If each individual account has a balance of 0 at year end, how to create a B/S and P/L for that year? Especially, for previous years? The only thing that comes to my mind is using special periods (13 to 16), but....   -->
    3. ...in our system, the FI fiscal year variant is not K4, but a custom variant. The fiscal year (of the group) does not end on 31st December. I have a small FI-SL application running in the background (with K4 assigned there), and I could change the FI-SL period to 13 during the document transfer easily, but I ask myself why I do not post all of these funny closing documents directly in FI-SL then? This would save me from the usage of dummy assets/customers/vendors and the continous changes made to the "automatic postings only" flag (SKB1-XINTB).
Turkey experts, any hints welcome. What are your best practices?
    Thank you,
    Csaba

    Yes frank,
GL closing should be carried only after all the sub ledgers are closed
    for asset closing
you should open the new fiscal year first (AJRW) and then close the existing fiscal year. (AJAB)
otherwise FI-AA and Fi-GL may not reconcile (use tcode ABST2 to check this)
