Calculate age & auto select result from picklist

Hi all,
I understand that you can calculate a person's age using Timestamp but how would I then auto-select the age bracket of the person from a picklist (19-25, 26-40, 41-55, 56+) once the DoB has been selected?

create a Repository variable called Current_date and in the init sql
write
select trunc(sysdate) from dual
After this create a logical column Age in BMM and in the column mappings tab of the Logical table source.. in the expression give
timestampdiff(SQL_TSI_Year,birthdate,VALUEOF('Current_date'))

The info you have been given is correct: Today()+[<CustomPicklist>].
I think the key is to be sure you check Post Default. This will populate the value after the user picks the correct number of days in the picklist and then saves the record. If the user doesn't pick a day in the picklist, it will resolve to Today().

As well as what Gary has suggested, you should always
validate the input
being submitted via a form. This can be done client-side with
Javascript, or server-side with whatever language is
available. It
sounds like you can't edit the CGI which processes the form
data and
sends it, so do as Gary suggested, or use some client-side
form
validation. There are loads of examples online if you google
for
"javascript form validation"

Display User Selection Results on Cover Sheet of the Crystal Report

How do you display the result of a multi-level dynamic parameter that the user has selected on the cover sheet of the crystal report.
Or Display the Start & Ending selection results from a dynamic parameter on the cover sheet of the crystal report.

Replace the code with:

This should hopefully fix the error, but I don't think it will solve your problem as it might keep assigning the same product id to each element of the array.
Have you tried just join({?parameter},', ') as suggested by RG?

Auto selection of file from folder during uploading??

Hi all friends,
Iam facing with one problem I am developing one uploading software for that i have used swing and servlet.Now my problem is i want to give auto selection of file from one folder means user just copy the files from any computer on network and paste it in predefind folder.And when they click on upload button it should start uploading of file one by one and after completion of uploading it move that file into another folder one by one.Now my software doing it perfectly but if user copy and paste any file in that predifined folder from network computer during uploading then they have to click upload button again after completion of first queue of files(for example if user first copy 10 files and start uploading and inbetween uploading of that 10 files if user copy another 10 files from network computer then they have to click on upload button again after completion of uploading of first 10 files).But my user requirement is they want to click on upload button once only at the time of starting my application and my application automatically select the file one by one from folder and send it to destination.Means if they copy the file from network machine inbetween uploading or any other user from network send file in that folder then my application should select those file automatically and start uploading means they don't want to click on upload button again.Can any one plz guide how I can slove this problem.Below r my codes:-

Calculate a result from a variable input

Hello,
I want to get a particular value for a characteristic when I run the query. I have a query that will return actual results for the month/year (MTD) that the user enters at the beginning. It will also show actual results for two months prior to the current month, budgeted values for current month, actual values for the year, budgeted values for the current year.
I want to calculate the number of patients from an invoice for the current month (MTD), and for all the other fields mentioned above. I want to restrict them to a particular code and their recipient ID. Do I have to write a customer exit and then include it in a formula variable? Ive dont have much experience in doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Strange result from insert into...select query

Hello guys,
I need your preciuos help for a question maybe simple, but that I can't explain by myself!
I have a query of "insert into...select" that, as I have explained in the title, returns a strange result. In facts, If I execute ONLY the SELECT statement the query returns the expected result (so 2 rows); instead If I execute the entire statement, that is the "insert into...select", the query returns 0 rows inserted!!

And I've created the table TITOLI_ORI2 as create table TITOLI_ORI2 (a number); to contain the number result of the query.

Upon startup Firefox says "Proxy is refusing connections." When I select "Auto-Detect Proxy" from Advanced settings and solve problem, changes are not saved and upon next startup I must select again...!

Firefox 4 was working fine. Then one day, when I started up Firefox, it says "Proxy is refusing connections." I solved this by selecting "Auto-Detect Proxy" from Advanced network settings, but my changes are not saved and upon every start-up I must select it again! (I even completely removed my webroot antivirus protection, as it as hindering many proxy related programs, but this seems to not be the source of the problem)

In what order are results from gather_database_stats 'LIST AUTO' returned?

11.2.0.1.0. The results from the following seem to have some order to them (groupings of objects returned alphabetically). Didn't see anywhere in the docs to indicate what's getting returned in what order (empty stats, stale stats). I looked at table stats for one at the top of the list and it looks like the table had stats gathered recently, so i'm confused. I ran this from sqlplus:

The report was run on a database that doesnt have any auto stat collection occurring. There are 4000 items returned in the list. One of the items looks ok when you look at dba_tables (row count correct and last_analyzed recent). Just trying to figure out why this table was included in the list. Might be the way stats collected for it isn't updating some mechanism that gather_database_stats is utilizing. From what I can tell the order is 1) tables with no stats, 2) indexes with no stats, 3) stale tables.

Count the number of rows resulting from a select statement

Is there any way of counting the number of rows resulting from a select statement. i.e I have a select distinct statement and I then want to perform an IF statement on the number of rows resulting from the select statement.

I have the exact the statements running on Oracle 9i and 10g, why do they return different results?

Both columns returned as follows...

Only one column returned, the column with unique keyword was missing...

yes, the table structure... actually the CREATE TABLE statement...
with some sample data (INSERT INTO)
and the actual queries (both of them - copy-paste them from each separate environment)
you can use tags around the statements this will format it to a fixed font - making it easier to read

How to filter results from 4 dynamic list menus depandant on how many of them are selected

I have a search page with a form with 4 list menus and 1 submit that post the results to the results page. I can create a record set that either retrieves the correct data from my database if a selection is made from all four menus Or i can create the recordset if only 3 menus have a selection or the same for 2 menus and 1 menu. However i want the user to be able to make a selection from either 1, 2, 3 or all 4 of the menus and the exact data be retrieved. At present if i try to combine the recordset using AND and ORs the results are not specific enough, for example the 4 menus are Location, Type, Price & Style if a user selects from all 4 i only want to retrieve data that matches all 4 criteria, but at the same time if the user selects only 2 of the menus the i want it to retrieve data that matches specifically those 2 variables. I´m not actually sure if i should be creating a more advanced sql query of if its the php side of things that i need to look at. This is my first dynamic site so please be aware i´m still a learner where php and sql is concerned. Please can anyone help?

I too am using Dreamweaver recordset, my local server is XAMPP ( apache php mysql), i´have pasted my sql recordset below to give an idea of what i´m trying to do, however this does not work as i´m trying to select the exact data based on 4 menus PRICE TYPE LOCATION and BEDS, and also want the search to work if the user only selects options from either 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the menus, with the code as it is if the user select only two options from 2 of the menus the results don´t just find (for example) all results for location AND price they find all results for the location varibale OR the price variable rather than a match for both, if you see what i mean?

I'm just doing my first dynamic site too, and am at a similar level to yourself.
Can you give us more info re the site. What software, eg Dreamweaver etc are you using, and is your server using PHP or ASP etc?
For what I've used, I amended the SQL side of things in the recordset in Dreamweaver. That way, you can test the SQL as you're setting up the recordset.

ManuThe reason for the question about the format of the column is because the simplest solution only works on DATE columns. Others have mentioned this here, but if you want the difference between two date fields, you can use this formula:
TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_DAY, date_column1, date_column2)
The above being said, you still didn't tell me what you did, or what error message you received. So again, if the above formula didn't work, what did you do? Where did you put the formula? What was the exact syntax you used? What was the error message you got?

Generate update statement from select results

I'm trying to generate an update statement based off select statement results. A very basic example,
SELECT ListID FROM DListing WHERE Status = 2
Results return 3 rows.
1234
2345
3456
How can I take those results and turn them into WHERE criteria for UPDATE statement?
Generated UPDATE statement should look like this.
UPDATE DListing SET Status = 1 WHERE ListID IN (1234,2345,3456)
I have started by creating a temp table to hold my SELECT results, but I don't know how to get those results into format for IN condition. Right now I get 3 UPDATE statements with 1 ListID in each IN condition.
CREATE TABLE #TempStatusUpdate(ListID INT)
INSERT INTO #TempStatusUpdate
SELECT ListID FROM DListing WHERE Status = 2
SELECT 'UPDATE DListing SET Status = 1 WHERE ListID IN (' + CONVERT(VARCHAR(30),ListID) + ') AND Status = 2'
DROP TABLE #TempStatusUpdate

So what wrong with
UPDTATE DListing
SET Status = 1
WHERE ListID IN (SELECT ListID FROM #TempStatusUpdate)

Calculate age from a date on numbers

I am trying to calculate age from a given date in the application numbers. The dates are all in the same column but i need to convert them to ages. I have not been able to find any formulas!
