Calculate time difference in Labview from excel file
I am reading in values from a excel files, the file contains date and time data in one cell, then either an On or Off value in the cell next to it. I would like to find the time difference between the on and the off cycles. The VI I have so far brings in the Excel file but I don't know how to subtract the dates. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached the vi and hopefully I can attach and example excel file.

I made a small VI (in LabVIEW 7.1) that converts to strings (of your format) to timestamp datatype and then subtracts them resulting in a difference measured in seconds. There might be a more optimal way to do this in your application, but I thought I'd at least try to contribute. Also, notice that there is a Y3K bug in there :-)

Error while uploading data to ztable from excel file
Hi,
I have a requirement where i have to upload data from excel file to ztable.I have used the fm 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE' for reading the excel file.After reading the excel file i have used INSERT zrb_hdr from table t_zrb_hdr for updating the ztable with data .
here it is giving error as the data base table zrb_hdr and the internal table t_zrb_hdr should be declared of same type .
I got this error b'coz i have changed the date and time fields in t_zrb_hdr table to char type.so the structure of zrb_hdr and t_zrb_hdr are not same.If i don't change the date and time fields,in the o/p i am not getting proper date and time formats.
now how can i upload data into ztable?Hi,

Store data in mysql after reading from excel files
i am trying to make o program where i will read the data from excel files and i will store them in a database. I am using eclipse as editor and mySQL. I am using APACHE POI to read the excel files and JDBC for the connection. The excel files have the structure as shown below:

I have of course plenty of such files which contains many more rows and columns. The purpose of my program is to read the data, create table named as the name of the excel file and the fields of each table to be the first rows of the excel file. Afterwards the values will be the rest data of the excel file. In the code below i have managed to read them, show the data in the console. Afterwrds i am trying to call a database with JDBC but there i have problem when i create the table.

Hello.
Is anybody can help how to import data from excel file to the form created with designer 7.0. Originally there is a script inside the form to populate drop down list and depending from data selected in the ID number drop down list, there will be filled out the description and the prices text fields. But now I have to modify this form with data from excel file, which has more than 30000 lines and put all this data to script is too much.
So, can somebody know how can I after filling the ID number field , populate the description and price text fields with data from excel file corresponding to this ID number ?
This form is used in Adobe reader.

if you are using data ware house as the source for OBIEE,
you know that when ETL is done, so just create iBot to purge cache automatically at that particular intervals,
So that report runs freshly at that time

Hi everybody,
I know similar questions have been asked lots of times but while searching the forum didn't find an anwer to my problem.
I created an exe file (using exe4j) of a java application which reads form Excel files. Although it works when I run it from my editor, when running the exe file it cant find the Excel file. More specifically I have this error:
"java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified"
In order to read from excel files I use POI. I used it so as not to use ODBC driver and make it possible to run in every computer. When adding the driver, the exe works.Do you know a way to make it work without having to install the Driver?

What you can probably do is, perform a consistency check on your data in the internal table and segregate all those rows that have inconsistent data (in your case, the field NEWBS containing albhabets) into another temporary internal table. Display the temporary internal table in an editable ALV grid saying that these data have not been inserted to the database, coz they have inconsistent data in the field NEWBS. Allow the user to edit and then save the data which will consequently refresh the internal table contents. -

Salil...When you call it the first time, it new Shell() constructs a new Display for you (the default).
The second time, it gets the default display, but you are in a different Thread now. Since you have to create your widgets in the UI thread, it gives you that error.

Please note Iam using ECC5.0 and it is not allowing me to declare wl_# as x as in your code.
Also if Iam using text mode I should use extension encoding etc.( Where as not in your case).
