Calculating the depreciation pro days instead of periods

Hi All,
I've to calculate the depreciation pro days instead of periods.
Is it possble? How to do it?
Thanks
G.Rossi

Hi Rossi,
you have to make a transfer the values to a asset with a daily calculating depreciation key. You can not change the depreciation key from normal depreciation to daily depreciation on a asset which has already values.
If you are interested in technical details: If you create a asset ANLB-PERFY is set according to the depreciation key (T090NA-XDAILY). ANLB-PERFY can not be changed in the standard. If you change the depreciation key from normal depreciation to a daily calculating depreciation key (T090NA-XDAILY = initial to T090NA-XDAILY = X) you will get the AA 662.

If APC value is 10000 and salvage Value is 500 then the depreciation will be calculated as net of these two values and calcluates the depreciation.

  • Calculating the number of days based on transaction in Query

    Hi friends,
I would be greatful if u can help me out. I have got a situtation where in i need to take the day when the transaction has occured otherwise i dont need to take that day. For example if one transaction occurs on 1st , i need to take that day and if the transaction dosent occur then i need to ignore it. If there is one transaction or multiple transactions i need to take the day only once.
Like transaction has happened on 1st Jan so it will be considered,
on 2nd the transaction dosent happen so i need to ignore it
on 3rd there is a transaction so its taken.
    So its like 1st - 1
                   2nd - 0
                   3rd - 1
    So total will be 2.
Transactions are being taken from a cube. Kindly let me know as to how to do this in query.
    Thanks,
    Kapil

PLease give us some more inputs.. requirement is not clear.
Do u have 0calday in ur Cube?

  • Determine the number of days in a False period in a Temporal Boolean

    Hi all,
I need to determiine the number of days based on a condition that lies on the gaps between the periods.
My input consists of multiple periods. The length of the gap is the condition to determine the start date for summation. However, there can be multimple gaps between my instances that satisfy this condition and I need the last one that satisfies it.
    For example:
    period 1: 1-1-1990 until 31-12-1992
    period 2: 1-1-1994 until 31-12-1996
    period 3: 1-1-1998 until 31-12-1999
    period 4: 1-6-2000 until 31-12-2009
The condition for the start date is the last gap greater than 1 year. In this example, the start date should be the start date of period 3: 1-1-1998, because this is the period after the last gap >= 1 year. Period 2 also has a previous gap of >= 1 year, but this period should NOT be selected.
My first idea was to use a TBR function: to determine relevant periods (based on the gaps before and after), calculate the amount of days per relevant period and add those up. However, if I want to do that I need to calculate the number of days in the gaps and I don't see how to do that, since I cannot determine a day difference across periods (end date period 1 until start date period 2).
    Any help/ other solution ideas?
    Kind regards, Els

This was an interesting puzzle which you can solve from a couple of different angles.
Firstly, you can use inferred relationships to infer a relationship "the following periods" (ie. the periods that follow the current one). My rules looked like this:
the period (the other period) is a member of the following periods if
the other period start date > the period start date
the period’s next start date = InstanceMinimum(the following periods, the period start date)From here it should be easy to see if there was a gap of more than a year, and find the most recent period after a year-long gap. Of course you need to deal with the situation of the last period, when there is no 'next' period, presumably you would use the date of assessment in that case, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.
A completely different way of doing it is to use the TemporalConsecutiveDays function to find a date where a gap of 365 days exists, then select periods in which there is a gap immediately before the start of that period. Here are some rules that :
there is a period that applies if
       ExistsScope(the periods)
          TemporalOnOrAfter(the period start date) and
          TemporalOnOrBefore(the period end date)
there is a year-long gap if
TemporalConsecutiveDays(365, 365, there is not a period that applies)
the period starts after a year-long gap if
ValueAt(the period start date, there is a year-long gap)
the start date for calculation = InstanceMaximumIf(the periods, the period start date, the period starts after a year-long gap)Hopefully one of these is suitable for your needs.
    cheers,
    Steve.

  • How to get the MTBR value in days instead of in hours

    Dear Sir,
Please help me to get the MTBR value (T-Code MCJB)  in the units of days instead of in the units of hours which is coming as default unit at present.
Looking for an early reply please.
    THANKS AND REGARDS,
    RN SABAT.

hi for this you need to change the formula in the std sap
    as per sap's formula
    suppose start date is 01.01
    breakdown date is 10.01
    downtime = 10 hrs
next break down date is 20.01
    downtime is 5 hrs
    mtbr =19 days X24 hrs-10/2
the above is how sap calculates
if 24 hrs is removed from the formula all the data will be in days
    i hope iam right .

  • Adjust the depreciation amount in posted period

    Hi Experts,
I've changed one of my asset depreciation key from 20% to 10% straight line method. The changes is done in period 6. I have run AFAR for this changes.
Let say my planned depreciation was 1000 (for 20% dep. key) and now the new depreciation would be 500 (for 10% dep key). I would like the depreciation to be recalculate in period 1 (i.e 1000 minus 500) and distribute the amount evenly throughout the period (period 1 to 6). Is it possible?
I've run AFAB in planned mode and the changes (lump sum) will only take places on next period (period 7). When i execute AFAB in restart mode (period 1), the error says restart is not possible for period 1.
    Appreciate your advise.

    Hi Nana,
Have a look also at KBA 1534331 - RAPOST2000 - How to post 'planned depreciation' for
subsequent posting or depreciation change in same period
This knowledge base article describes the situation how the system will pick up the depreciation adjustment when a change in depreciation terms (e.g. change of depreciation key) has been made.
As Mukthar is pointing out, if you have run depreciation already (ordinary planned depreciation run in AFAB), and afterwards you make a change, you can start a repeat run for that very same period again and it will adjust the value equally to all periods going forward.
You find in this KBA also an attachment which outlines an example.
I hope this helps further in understanding how depreciation is adjusted after a change of depreciation terms.
    Best regards,
    Brigitte

  • How to calculate the depreciation for an asset under repair for a month

    Hi,
I have placed an asset (Laptop) into service 01.01.2013 and I have calculated the depreciation for the 1st period and in the second period 01.02.2013 the laptop is broken and which was sent to the service center and for that entire month no depreciation is calculated. I wanted to start the depreciation for the same asset on 01.03.2013.
how to process for the depreciation for 3rd period and for the 2nd month what should be the activity of the asset?
    Please explain in detail.
    Thanks,
    Santhosh.

    Hi,
If you do not want to post depreciation for an asset, then assign depreciation key 0000 for the asset.
    OR
Use the asset shutdown option in field status group in time dependent tab.

  • Calculation of Depreciation on Sub Number.

    Hi,
Pl. provide your valuable remarks for the below 2 points.
    1. What is sub number? In which cases we should use this.
    2. In cases of heavy repairs & maintenance of assets, when amount will be capitalized, whether it will be treated as a separate asset or sub number.
As I have tried, the Sub-Asset calculate depreciation from the date of capitalisation of Main Asset rather than calculating the depreciation from the date when it is actualy capitalised because thereis no option to change the any field in Depreciation Area when creating Asset Sub-No. vide T-Code AS11.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Go to below path
SPRO->IMG->FA->AA->MASTER DATA->SCREEN LAYOUT->Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data
Choose Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data
Select your screen layout rule, which is assigned to your asset's asset class.
Double click on ligical field groups, and then select 2 Posting information and double click on field group rules
There for field group 10. capitalisation date deselect check box for mn no and select check boxes for SbNo and Copy.
    SAVE
And now go to transaction AO21 and select screen layout 1000 and double click on field group rules and there for FG 03 (ord dep start date)  deselect check box for mn no and select check boxes for SbNo and Copy.
    This will resolve your issue.
    Thanks,

  • Calculation Based on Previous Day's Figure

    Hi all,
This is a solution I implemented several years ago, which is now causing problems and must be rectified.  The intention was to compare a single field across two days and calculate the difference.  The only way I could figure out how to do that
back then was to go back and loop through the whole table, calculating the difference each day until the present day.  This obviously isn't very efficient and now something has gone wrong.
    Here's the code:
// Calculates Nett Oil Volume Increase
double previousNettOilVolA = 82433; // value on 2/1/13 which is the live value on the day before this system begins
double previousNettOilVolB = 51347; // value on 2/1/13 which is the live value on the day before this system begins
    foreach (DailyTankData tankdata in DataWorkspace.ApplicationData.DailyTankDatas)
if (tankdata.NettOilVolume15TankA != null)//otherwise will crash if null value
    tankdata.NettOilVolumeIncreaseTankA = (double)tankdata.NettOilVolume15TankA - previousNettOilVolA;
    previousNettOilVolA = (double)tankdata.NettOilVolume15TankA;
    tankdata.NettOilVolumeIncreaseTankB = (double)tankdata.NettOilVolume15TankB - previousNettOilVolB;
    previousNettOilVolB = (double)tankdata.NettOilVolume15TankB;
This is run on the _Compute event of another property in the table.  It seemed to work for a long time, but now is occasionally giving wildly inaccurate numbers.
What's a better way to solve this problem?  Failing that, can anyone explain exactly how the above works and why it might be going wrong?
    Thanks,
    Liam

Start by looking at your data. Any unusual spikes or negative values?
A better way to handle it is to let the database do the calculations via a stored procedure.

  • Calculation of no of days in the period

    Hi,
    We have a requirement....
    1. Calculate Daily material consumption for a period?
Daily material consumption = material consumption for a period / no. of Days in the period
    We are using 0FIGL_C01 InfoCube..
My Doubt is How to consider no of days in the period...
    Please suggest me...
    Thanks in advance..

First you will have to create two customer exit variable for fiscal year/ period(0FISCPER). one for the no of day in the current month and another for the cumulative no of days.
now you would have used a user entry default value variable on 0FISCPER for getting the material consumption for the month. also you would have used another user entry default value variable on 0FISCPER for getting the material consumption YTD.
Then go to t-code CMOD -->select your project --> select enhacement RSR00001 and function exist would be EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001. Double click on include within Fucntion exists.
    3) In ABAP screen, you need to write your code
now take the help of an ABAPer and ask him to write the code in the above exit.
the logic for no of days in the mont would have to calculated in the code for the month that user enters for the variable used for current month material consumption.
similarlly the no of days YTD will have to be calculaed by writing the code from the starting month of the fiscal year till the current month. based on the value of the variable that user enter for the YTD material consumption.
There would be some function module available to calculate the no of days, the ABAPER would know that.
    Regards !!!

  • When the asset is sold in the mid of the period, how the depreciation is ca

when the asset is sold in the mid of the period, how the depreciation is calculated as you can not run AFAB in the mid of the period.

Adding to the above reply, when the asset is sold in the mid period, during such sale process, based on the period control, depreciation till the date will be computed by the system and adjusted.

  • Dunning interest calculation - taking 360 days instead of 365 days

    Dear Friends,
I have done the dunning customization and forms are generating properly including the days in arrears.  But for the dunning interest calculation, it is taking only 360 days instead of 365 days. Because of this, there is a difference in interest amount in dunning (F150 tcode) and interest calculation (FINT tcode).
Please guide me how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Calculation of Depreciation on pro rata basis

    Hi,
i had posted aquistion of asset on 1.1.2008. and a subsquent asset aquisition on 1.4.2008 the system is calculation depreciation for the new aquisition from 1.4.2008 but the depreciation calculated is for the full year i.e. the date of original capitalization of the asset.
Can any one suggest a solution so that the system calculates the depreciation from 1.4.2008 and not from 1.1.2008.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Praveen.

    Hi Ramesh,
i did try the period control, this only controls the start date for calculation of depreciation. The system calculates depreciation from the date of original capitalization date  and not the susequent acquisitions date, and it posts from the start date mentioned in period control.

    Praveen.

  • Calculating the planned delivery time in calendar days or working days

    Hi,
It seems that there is a way to calculate the planned delivery time in calendar days instead of working days.
When I use the "Planned delivery time calculation" (WPDTC), in Evaluation Options, I got the message :
"Note that follow-on applications are currently interpreting the planned delivery time as calendar days.
If they should be interpreting the planned delivery time as working days, you need to modify these applications. If the planned delivery time should be calculated in working days, there needs to be a factory calendar in Customizing with the calendar ID Country of vendor."
When MRP create a PR -with MDBT, MD03 or MD01- I want my Planned delivery time to be in working days.
I can't manage to make that "If the planned delivery time should be calculated in working days, there needs to be a factory calendar in Customizing with the calendar ID Country of vendor."
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    PYR

    Hi,
I understand that it makes sense that vendors calendar has to be different (compared to my plant).
But, I still don't understand why in the SAP help, they say "If the planned delivery time should be calculated in working days, there needs to be a factory calendar in Customizing with the calendar ID Country of vendor."
It seems that planned delivery time may follow a calendar.
    Thanks,

  • Set the broadcaster to email out on work days instead of daily

    Hi Friends,
Any one can help me to set the BEX broadcaster to email out on work days instead of daily?
    Regards
    Vishwanath

    Hi Viswa and Pravender
I have a similar issue here:
I'm working on BW3.5 module and I'm trying to scheule a report in BEX broadcaster with a predefined time. Eg: Every Wed day after Fisc quarter ends. I created a job with name TP_BROADCASTING_**** and included the ABAP program in step :RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT.
Now In the start condition I selected start date as wed day after fisc qtr close and put the period value as every 3 months and restriction in cal Id as factory calendar.
Now I have two questions...How can I select just wed nesday after the fisc quarter close ? Is there a std SAP exit variable exist for this ? Or do I need to create one and write ABAP code in Exit ? I tried with Event and other ways but its not showing in scheduler...
Second one is I logged in to Broadcaster and created new setting for query and filled all recipents etc...now When I tried to schedule this I can not see my Quarterly pre defined time here...But if I change this time to some other calender time period I can see that in scheduler...
Is there any other way of scheduling the reports at a specific time period ?thanks inadvance
    Sam
