Calculating the percentages

Hi Experts,
Im working on BI7, i have a scenario in which i have to do some calculations.
I have ODS and a realtime Infocube, from ODS we are getting one KF and from RT Infocube we are getting 3 kfs and 3 more KF's have to be calulated based on the Calculation factor which is comming from RT infocube.
We are loading RT infocube 1st into the target.
Now my question is if i have to write the code to populate the 3 KFs where will i write the code? in 3.5 we will write in the start routine or in the field routine. im not sure where will we write the code in BI7.
Can someone advise me where to write this code?.
Your help is very much appreciated
Regards
BN

You can either in the start routine while your loading from your Real Time Cube to InfoCube or in the Rule Details in the transformation for those KF's

  • Calculation of percentage

i am new to abap. how to calculate the percentage of some amount field. and i want to pass that value to smartform. how to do that, and how to conver amount to discription i mean i want to display 3000 as three thousand plz help me .

    Hi,
If you want the calculated percentage to SmartForm then you have to create the structure and then pass that structure to the SmartForm Import parameters.
The logic for calculating the percentage remains the same as we have been doing so far in other Pro Languages.....

  • Why I can not find the percentage calculation %ct

    Hi,
I m trying to use the Percentage Calculation %ct for a calculated KeyFigure. There are only two Functions: %  and  %A
Can anyone explain why it is so?
    thanks and regards

    Hi,
    Percentage Variance (%)
    <Operand1> % <Operand2>
This gives the percentage variance between operand 1 and operand 2.
    Percentage Share (%A)
    <Operand1> %A <Operand2>
This gives the percentage share of operand 1 and operand 2. It is identical to formula 100 * <Operand1> / abs(<Operand2>) , if <Operand2> is not equal to 0 and the character for u201CDivision by 0u201D if <Operand2> is equal to 0.
    Use
You use the following percentage functions as operators when you define a formula or a calculated key figure.
    Features
NULL values are displayed as empty cells, not as 0. For more information about when NULL values occur and how they are displayed, see Technical Notes About the Formula Operators.
    Percentage Variance (%)
    <Operand1> % <Operand2>
This gives the percentage variance between operand 1 and operand 2. It is identical to:
    Formula 100 * (<Operand1> - <Operand2>) / abs(<Operand2>) , if <Operand2> is not equal to 0 and the character for u201CDivision by 0u201D if <Operand2> is equal to 0.
Plan Sales % Actual Sales specifies the percentage difference between the plan sales and the actual sales.

Percentage Share of Overall Result (%GT)
    %GT <Operand>
This shows how high the percentage share is with regard to the overall result. The overall result is the outcome of aggregating the highest results level. Dynamic filters (filters that were not specified in the Query Designer) also play a role in calculating the overall result.
Percentage Share of Query Result (%RT)
    %RT <Operand>
This is the same as %GT.
Unlike the process for calculating the overall result, dynamic filters are not used in the calculation of the query result. This means that the calculation always normalizes to the same value, irrespective of the filter status and the navigational state.

    FAN

To summarize - you want to see what percent of the maximum datafile space is free.
If the maxbyes <= bytes (size of the datafile) it will never autoextend. So, the max size is the current datafile size.
If the maxbytes >bytes, the max available space is the maxbyes.
    So, the calculation would be:
    max_percent_free = (max_size - used) / (max_size)
where max_size is either maxbytes or bytes (current datafile size).
In the first case, where datafile is 1900 meg that would be:
    max_percent_free = (2000-1637) / (2000) = 18% - we use maxbytes since it is 2000, greater than the file size (1900)
After increasing the size to 3000
    max_percent_free = (3000-1637) / 3000 = 45% - we use file size, 3000, since it is larger than maxbytes (2000)
If you would set maxbytes to 5 gb
    max_percent_free = (5000-1637)/5000 = 67%
    Does that make sense?

  • How to calculate the percentage of free space for a table in Oracle

okay, I am a little confused here. I have been searching the web and looking at a lot of documents. What I basically want to find out is this, how do I calculate the difference between the number of bytes a table is using and the total bytes allocated to a table space (going that way to get percent free for a particular table). So I need a byte count of a table and total table space and the percentage difference. I have been looking at the DBA_TABLES DBA_TABLESPACES and DBA_SEGMENTS views. I have tried to calculated the space as num_rows * avg_row_len (if I am wrong, let me know). I have been trying to compare that calculation to the number in DBA_TABLESPACES and DBA_SEGMENTS. I am just looking for the total space allocated to the table space that the table sits in (seem logical right now) to make the percentage value work. Thus I want to be able to track the table as it grows as compated to the table space it sits in to see a value as it changes over time (days, weeks, etc.) each time I run this script I am working on.
Can someone get me straight and help me to find out if I am looking in the right places. Any advice would help.
    Edward

You can use a little modified version of dbms_space from Tom, show_space. Have a look,

I use this to find the space allocations.
Just read your post again, this is not going to show you the percentage of the free/used space. This is going to be the number of blocks which are free/used. For the growth trend, you can look at (in 10g) Oracle EM. It has added now,Segment Growth Trend report which can show you for each object, comparing to the allocated space to the object, how much space is being used by it.

I was after a similar calculator to the one supplied as standard, but with the percentage button,

  • Is there a way to remove the percentage complete display?

When a user is completing the form a 'percentage complete' is displayed.  In my case, the way this is calculated is misleading.  Is there an option to edit or remove this?

    This is the logic:
For multiple page forms the first page always shows 0% and we don't show progress on the last page. For the pages in between we take the number of questions completed on the previous pages and divide by the total number of questions in the entire form to get the percentage for the current visible page.
The percent doesn't include what is on the current page because it hasn't been filled out yet. The user may only fill out a few questions and leave the rest so you can't say they completed 90%. We don't know what the completed until they hit Next.
We've never found a better way to do the math that makes sense in all cases.

  • Error:  The percentage of requests that resulted in internal errors

I am using grid control with a 10.2 database and I keep getting this error with my http server.
    Currently the error says:
The percentage of requests that resulted in internal errors is 55.1%
The metrics are set as warning = 1% and critical =1.5% so obviously this is a little over what we expect.
I have done some searching and cannot find any info about this metric or the resulting error. I guess I am looking for any help in understanding what this error means and if there is a way to fix it. Any info about how this percentage is calculated would be of help as well.
    thank you

I've raised an SR on this, asking for more information on the following two Oracle HTTP Server metric alerts:
The percentage of requests that resulted in failures is 69.09%
The percentage of requests that resulted in internal errors is 409.09%
I have found a reoccurring error in my apache logs:
    File does not exist: /app/ora/product/EM10GR2/oms10g/Apache/Apache/htdocs/favicon.ico
This seems to be something to do with IE 5, so not sure its related.
I will keep you chaps updated with what oracle come back with.

  • Forms, Calculations and Percentages

I am using Acrobat XI Pro. I am trying to calculate some items for an order form. It will be the (Quantity * Unit Price)*(Discount*-1). The discount it a percentage. However, the form keeps turning the percentage from 20% to 2000%. Then when it does the calculation in the Savings field it comes out as a negative number in the hundreds. How would you do this type of thing? I have tried both simplified and custom script. Neither have worked. The TOTAL field will be (Quantity*UnitPrice)+(Savings)
So it should read across Quantity=2 UnitPrice=$50.00 Discount=20% and Savings=$10.00
Thank you in advance for any help
    Ellen

Percentages are entered in as decimal values and the formatting of a field makes the adjustment of the decimal place and adding the "%" symbol. If you want to try and do the math yourself, you will be doing a non-standard operation and need to write more scripts and more debugging to handle your code.

  • Grand total level of the percentage column giving value from the first row of column

    Hi Guys,
I have a requirement like to show the percentage value which the calculation of two columns , in the grand total level .
I think it can be achievaable by giving the aggregation rule for that column as Server complex Aggregate .
    eg.
Fiscal Year  Department  subdepartment   Total cost     Sub Department cost     % cost
    2011           Edu             Books                 500              50                               10
    2011           Edu             Note Book           200            100                                50
    2011           Edu             Furniture             300             30                                 10
    2011            Edu                                      1000           180                              18
    Grand Total
Ideally it should come like as above ..but the problem with me that ,it showing correct value for  all the rows ,but at the grand total level it's taking the value of % cost from the first row . like below..
    2011           Edu                                   1000                  180                         10
    Grand Total
I have calculated the % cost column in the answer itself  as (Sub Department cost /Total Cost )
    where the
Aggregation rule for the columns given are
Total Cost - Sum  ,Sub Dep Cost -  Sum, % Cost - Server Complex Aggregate
So plz suggest me any Idea to achieve this ..Thanks in advance.

Give the agg. as avg for % field.
    Best of Luck,

  • Suspension employees payment on the percentage basis

    Dear All,
Request you to please help me with below issues:-
    1) Suspension:- My client requirement is that, when any employee is suspended than for 1st 90days employee will be just getting 50% of his/her BasicDA (all other salary allowance will not be applicable) and after 90days employee will be getting 75% of BasicDA (no other allowance).
How to map this thing is SAP, i believe we can do it through PCR stating that when this WT Suspension is entered in employee master data, than only above logic will be captured and paid accordingly in salary, But i have never written PCR so far for payroll.
    2) Benevolent Fund:- As per company policy, incase of death of any employee during employement, all employee contribute one day salary BasicDA towards benevolent fund. What i will need to do for the same, so that whenever benevolent fund WT is enter system should capture 1day basicDA salary.
Request you all experts to kindly guide me on the above issues as how to proceed and work on the same.

  • Microsoft`s definition of 「All Instance」 for calculating average percentage of CPU usage is a mystery for me !!!.

Hi, I was looking up in the 「How to Auto Scale」 document
      http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cloud-services-how-to-scale/
and got stuck in the below paragraph, the part that describes how to calculate the
     average percentage of CPU usage.
    ==========
All instances are included when calculating the average percentage of CPU usage and the average is
based on use over the previous hour. Depending on the number of instances that your application is using, it can take longer than the specified wait time for the scale action to occur if the wait time is set very low. The minimum time between scaling actions
is five minutes. Scaling actions cannot occur if any of the instances are in a transitioning state.
    ==========
Does any one know the microsoft`s definition of 「All Instance」 ?
Whether the virtual machines that are shut down but has been set into auto scaling group count as one of them?
The question is that the response time, the data shows up in the management portal delays a lot comparing to the
real time. I was wondering if the definition of the calculation described above is truly what the user`s want or not.
I`m all ears to any information. Thanks in advance !!

    Hello Tomo Shimazu,
Instance is a presence of a service eg :- VM is an instance. Copy of VM is another instance which is 2 instances of VM.
Although Microsoft’s pricing model is readily available and even offers a simple calculator (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/pricing/calculator/advanced/) to assist
in the process, it may be difficult to know how much of each resource you will need to get an estimate.
To understand on calculating the compute instances and the VM size, let’s first take a look at the VM role sizes offered by Microsoft.
The prices per month for each, at the time of writing, are $30, $90, $180, $360, $720 from ExtraSmall to ExtraLarge respectively. So with the exception of the
transition from ExtraSmall to Small, going to the next size VM is exactly twice the cost, which, is mirrored in the increase of resources you get at each level. With each step, CPU Cores, Memory, Disk Space, and Bandwidth are all doubled from the previous.
If this is the case, then, is there any advantage to any one of these over the others? The answer is yes. In the majority of cases, the best bet will be to go with the small instance, with the reason being that because all of these resources scale equally
to cost it is possible to achieve the exact equivalent to a larger VM simply by increasing the number of instances. For example 8 small instances is equivalent to one ExtraLarge instance, with the advantage of the fact that when not needed these small instances
can be turned off and will cost nothing.
By hosting the application in this manner, it increases the effectiveness of the number one reason that a business would transition to the cloud anyway – Scalability.
Obviously 16 smaller instances can be more finely adjusted to the application’s usage than 2 ExtraLarge can. If traffic gets higher or lower than expected, two Small Instances can be added at $180/mo for the time that they are running, versus adding another
    ExtraLarge for $720/mo.
The only exception to using the smallest instance, is in the case of the ExtraSmall, which offers only 1/20 of the bandwidth of the Small, making it only feasible
for very lightly accessed applications or, more likely, a QA environment.
From this point, it becomes much easier to estimate the compute instance requirements of migrating the application to Windows Azure. Take the current server(s)
total resources (CPU, RAM, etc) and find how many Small instances it would take to recreate it. This gives a good starting point, however, remember that these instances can be turned on and off to meet demand, and beyond the first instance, there is no charge
when the instances are off. This can lead to significant cost savings, and is the primary incentive to migrating to the cloud.
    For azure pricing information, refer
    pricing details.
If you still unclear about pricing and billing, you may raise a service request with billing team
    here
    Hope this helps.

  • How to calculate the percentages

    Hi Gurus!!
I am having a key figure(say suppose KF1) which had undergone currency conversions in query designer level to USD.
Now i want one more field(KF2) in my report in which i should get the values of percentages based on KF1 and its overall result.
Means i have 1000,2500,3400....under KF1 and the total is 25000. Finally under KF2 i should get as mentioned below
    KF1----
    >KF2
    1000----
    >(1000/25000)*100
    2500----
    >(2500/25000)*100
    3400----
    >(3400/25000)*100
So like wise i shold get the percentages based on KF1 and its total.
I had tried SUMGT and %GT functions as mentioned below:
kf1/sumgt(kf1)  and  kf1/%GT(kf1)  and for both of them the query is showing errors like you cannot use these functions in the query. correct the query.
    Pls suggest me the solution.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
in Lion I was able to display the time passively in the top bar. Now I only have the chance to display the percentage. Anyone has a solution for this? I do not want to click always on my battery button just to see something I used to see in the past at a more prominent place.
Actually this bug really ticks me off!
