Calendar Categories on the IPad

I have an Ipad and I love it, however I would like to know when in the calendar, can I choose or create categories for my appointments? Or at least select a different colour depending on what the category is?
Thanks

  • When I select Mail, Contacts, Calendars in settings the ipad will lock up and not display setting options.

When I noticed my mail not being delivered to my IPad I wanted to check the settings and make sure there wasn't an issue.  When I click on the settings option nothing will display on the right side and the Settings screen will lock up.  I can restore the IPad to original settings and this will fix the issue, but I need to restore all my apps to this IPad.  Any suggestions of how I can delete the mail settings and set them back up?

Try a simple Reset - hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons together for 15 seconds - and try again!

  • Syncing mobileme calendar beta on the iPad

Anyone else having a problem with selective syncing using the Calendar beta? Whatever I do only 7 of my 8 calendars show up on my ipad - the others refresh promptly. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the CalDAV following the instructions - i've tried turning on and off fetch/push settings. The calendar is called "important" so not having it show up is a bit of a pain...

  • Why does my full calendar not sync with the iPad?

Why do only some entries on my computer calendar syn with the iPad calendar?

Did you set up iCloud on it as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html?

  • How do i share a calendar between iphone and ipad

I have an iPad 1 and my wife has an iPhone4.  Both devices are running iOS5.01.  I want to share the calendars so that we can both see each others' calendars.  In iCloud we are using the same Apple ID for both devices to facilitate a storage account.
Calendars are turned on in iCloud in each device.  The iPhone can see calendar entries from the iPad but the iPad does not see calendar entries from the iPhone.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?
When I go into iCloud Calendars are ON for both devices.  But how does this relate to calendars in Settings-Mail, Contacts and Calendars that are listed under iCloud and also under all email accounts on the device.
Am I the only one who finds this very confusing?

A couple of more points.  When I log into icloud.com I only see the iPad calendar entries, not the iPhone entries.
Is the calendar tied to the Apple ID to an email address or what?  The iPhone did have a Mobile Me account but I deleted that since it wasn't being used and that didn't change anything.
Note that Photo Stream is turned on and works perfectly between both devices and also Windows PC.

  • Why do all my Calendar events on my iPad 2 disappear when I try to edit an event?

Ever since I updated my iPad 2 to iOS6, a strange quirk occurs with Calendar. If I try to edit a Calendar event on the iPad (no matter what the event is or when it is), all the events in my entire calendar disappear from iPad. They don't actually "delete" themselves because I can then click on Calendars and add my Gmail calendar back. This is extremely annoying, though, and I'd hate for it to decide to wipe them all out food good one day. Has anyone else experienced this bug, and have you found a solution?
    Thanks!

You can sort Events manually, but you cannot sort within Events manually. So I'm not sure what you're asking here.

  • Calendar on iPhone 3GS & iPad 3 is nog syncing with iCloud

Since a few days I have problems with my iPhone 3GS & iPad 3 syncing calendar with iCloud. Everything else is syncing except for my calendars. On the iPad i see all previous events, but new events are not displayed.
On my iPhone I can't see any calendar nor event. I can't even see the '+' button to add a new event. It is driving me crazy. My wifes iPad 2 & iPhone 3GS are syncing perfectly.
Strange thing is, it worked before and it stopped like beginning of 2013. My iPhone 3GS & iPad 3 are on iOS 6, wifes devices are on iOS 5. Mac OSX is 10.7.
Anyone can help me with this? Thank you in advance.
FYI: I tried deleting and resetting my iCloud account on iPhone & iPad, i tried reinstalling iPhone as a new device, I double checked all settings on my iPhone, etc...

  • Everything but calendars sync on my ipad!?

After I upgraded to IOS 5.5 on my iPad (1) my calendars dissapeared on the iPad. Everything else syncs just fine, and the calendars is available on my other computers/iphone/icloud.com. There is no errors or anything else that I can find - its just like if the icloud-calendar-sync-switch was set to off. But it isn't.
Just to be clear - everything else syncs just perfectly (contacts, to-do's, bookmarks, notes, pictures, find my ipad and so on...).
At first - I didn't even have the Calendar-button up in the left corner of the ipad-calendar, but when I logged out of iCloud I got back the calendar-button and when pressing it it showed me the default, internal calendar. Then I logged on to my iCloud-account again and from now on I do have the calendars-button available. But it only show the default calendar...

  • Calendar not syncing on iPad

    Hi folks!
I rcently updated all my iOS devices toIOS 5 and all my Macs to the latest Lion release.  All iCloud functions are working GREAT with the exception of the calendar on my original iPad...
None of my iCloud calendars are syncing to the iPad.  I am also unable to add a new event within the calendar app on the iPad.  Mail, Contacts, Photo Stream, etc. all working fine.  Not so good with the calendar.
Thanks in advance for any assistance in resolving this perplexing issue.
    ~Bo

Finally resolved this issue by deleting my iCloud account on my original iPad (choose to remove all account content) and then recreated it.  All content (mail, contactes, calendars, etc.) pushed right through.  iCall working as expected - can edit, add, etc. events.
...and all is well with the world once again.

  • Calendar not appearing on iPad after MobileMe to iCloud upgrade

This is weird. I was having some calendar synch issues under MobileMe, but it just got a lot worse under iCloud. No events appear on my iPad, and now there don't seem to be any calendars at all on the device.
    1. My MacBookPro and iPad1 are set up with iCloud, following a migration from MobileMe.
    2. Contacts, bookmarks etc. synch just fine between MBP and iPad
    3. I have 7 calendars under my MobileMe/iCould e-mail address on the MBP
    4. The MBP calendars synch fine with icloud.com. I create an event on one and they appear on the other
    5. No events at all appear on the iPad.
    6. In fact, no calendars appear on the iPad! I can't click to add events!
    7. iPad > iCloud > Calendars = ON
    8. iPad > Mail, contacts & calendars > <mobile me account> > Calendars = ON
This is after lots of hiccups tryng to navigate having two Apple IDs and so on. What happened to "It just works"?
Any suggestions for lines of investigation would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Simon

News about the Calendar Syncing problem with iCloud!
First of all: Now it works! Yeah :-)
    What I did:
    1. Kill my iCloud account just on the iPhone. Not on the iMac, just on the iPhone. And I told the iPhone to kill all contacts etc. JUST on the iPhone.
    2. Activate iCloud on the iPhone with my Apple-ID.
    3. After about 3 Minutes all was back again! :-) Including all my calendars now! Yippieh...
That worked for me, I hope, it will help you.

  • My new icloud acct on my imac is duplicating entries in calendar from my ipad; how do I get rid of the duplicates and how do I get one calendar to be the main one to start with

I've just installed Mavericks on my iMac and now my calendar has duplicate and now sometimes tripled events by syncing with my ipad mini regardless of whether the item already existed in the iMac calendar already. How do I remove the duplicates? It was being able to sync calendars and contacts which was one of my reasons for moving from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and now it's a mess.

Crista70, What is happening is you now have 2 calendars with the entries in them. If you go into View, then Show Calendar List, you will see all your calendars. Uncheck the ones listed as "From My Mac" or uncheck the ones listed as "iCloud" and they will no longer show as duplicates. Personally, I prefer unchecking the "From My Mac" calendars so that my calendars are all synced across the devices.

  • Why does iCal and Calendar on the iPad do not search before year 2000?

I have used for many years with great pleasure the agenda of the Psion MX palmtop computer with GUI and touch screen, dating from 1998. All applications (Office apps, WAP internet plus agenda) on this machine are faultless and this Symbian 50 computer never crashes, uses only two AA cells a month and for me it is almost the perfect mobile companion. But Psion has closed down many years ago and the flexible cable between the moving screen and he mainboard breaks down after 8 years of daily service. Spare parts are hard to get by nowadays and so I decided to switch over to the iPad. My agenda covers data from 1980 on and for me it is a the book of my personal and working life after 1980. So I exported the data from the Psion to my MacBook Pro and synchonized these with my iPad 3. I was a bit shocked to discover that iCal on the mac can *not* "Go To" dates before the year 2000. You have to click by hand every month to reach e.g. 1980 (there is no year tab). Searching on data in history works fine on the mac (backward at least until 1980) But on the iPad somtimes the data in these ancient times is not shown at all, you have first to select your calendars 'off' and 'on' again. Searching for old dat doesn't work either, so again you can only visit those data by tapping by hand, hapily here for previous years. It seems that Apple is not very interested in history, where both the iPad and the Mac don't support looking back more then 12 years. Having programmed myself some financial applications in the 1980th I assume these are vey small missing points in the two applications. Didn't anyone at Apple use these calendars for more than any weeks or did they never tested those for serious use? The calendars both function from 1900 on, so even Einstein could have used them som time of his life. Please do some fixing of these apps (it is *really* a small job) and make these applications more coherent to the excellent hardware of Apple

  • To whom do I complain about the calendar on the iPad 2 with iOS 7? I can no longer read my appointments. Is there an adjustment I can make? Larger text size doesn't help.

To whom do I complain about the OS 7 calendar on the iPad 2? I used to be able to read my appointments. The new small font is horrible. Text size doesn't seem to change it. Can I change it?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • How can I restore a desktop iCal calendar from an iPad backup copy? The iPad is routinely backed up to the computer and still has the calendar on it but I cannot get it to display on my desktop.

One of several calendars was accidently deleted from the desktop. It is still present on the iPad and backed up to the desktop. Additionally, the iPad version can no longer be edited, copied or moved.

    Thanks for confirming my approach.
I have tried your approach. I have a calendar with the most recent and future events; it is visible on all appliances; and, it syncs to the cloud without issue. I think I will wait for a very rainy day to transcribe five years of past events.
BTW, the corrupt calendar cannot be deleted from the iPad using any normal appoach; additionally, the events cannot be edited or modified except as described above. I will follow up with Apple but this calendar predates the iCloud and apparently there are known issues in moving those calendars to the cloud.
I tried restoring the calendar folder from Time Machine. It loaded initially, at least for the month I was watching as it loaded, and then deleted it again. So, the calendar I want to display still exists but is not accessible.
Thanks for your time and help. If I learn any more from Apple, I will pass it along.
    Cheers, ...

  • I have updated to lion. Set up an iCloud so contacts and calendar are shared between iMac iPhone 4s and iPad 1. But iTunes is telling me to update the software on the iPad and iPhone, but it just gets stuck contacting the software server. What should I do

I have updated my iMac to lion so I can use iCloud to share contacts and calendar between iPhone 4s and iPads 1.  Somehow it seems to have worked although still not sure how to move stuff in and out of iCloud.  iTunes is telling me to update the software on the phone and iPad. When I try to do this it just gets stuck with a box saying connecting to software update server. This has never happened before.  I cannot update or restore either the phone or the iPad in iTunes although I have synced the info.  What should I do?

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.
