I plug my iPod touch into my new macbook pro and the iPod icon shows up in iTunes, but does not show up anywhere in the finder or on my desktop...?
I need to transfer the music off of my ipod onto my mac but i cannot do that when my macbook will not recognize my ipod touch in the finder.
This is correct. It will not show in finder. It is not an external storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases

There was a promotion that 'buy a Mac u may get a free Ipod touch'...A specialist told me that i will receive $259 with in 2 weeks. But it has been over 2 weeks since i send receipt and product codes to repay centre in Sydney but i haven't receive it yet. Can you tell me if there are any problems?

I left my headphones into my new macbook pro and now there is no volume through headphones or without. I have tried to reset the audio port and it is not on mute. Any ideas?
Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
Audio Devices window
Side Bar
Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it. -
I can't sync music already on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. I've read through all the Help tutorials but none of them say what to do if the sync options don't pop up when you highlight the device. A song I purchased shows up in iTunes, but will not show up on my iPhone. When the phone is plugged into the computer, iTunes shows that it is on my iPhone, but it is not. How do I get that song to show up on my iPhone?

OS X will automatically block versions of Flash that are known to be unsafe. As long as Flash is kept up to date, it's reasonably safe. You can minimize your exposure to Flash content by installing the "ClickToFlash" or "ClickToPlugin" Safari extension. Flash elements will then load only when clicked.

I have a CC subscription and had it loaded on my Mac and my old MacBook pro. I bought a new macbook pro and turned off CC on my old laptop but when I try to load it on the new one it keeps saying I already have it activated on two devices. Help!

IPod touch library to new MacBook Pro
Previous computer was stolen so I do not have access to it. My iPod touch has over 1,000 songs, only some of which were purchased on iTunes. Does anyone know how I can get my ENTIRE iPod touch library into my new MacBook Pro iTunes library? Thanks for your suggestions.

Just got home from purchasing a new Macbook Pro and Lightroom 5. Problem is I do not have a CD/DVD drive. Just opened my Lightroom 5 to install and I'm clueless how to install it on my new laptop UGH! What can I do? Is it possible to install my new Lightroom 5 without a CD/DVD drive?

How do I transfer my songs from my iPod Touch to my new MacBook Pro?
Okay so I have read many similar questions, but I have not found any that share my exact problem. I got an iPod Touch for Christmas and bought songs from the iTunes app it has, NOT FROM A PREVIOUS COMPUTER. I have boughten 83 songs so far. Now I just got the new MacBook Pro for graduation and haven't touched the iTunes on this computer. It is all set up through the same Apple ID. So again, all 83 songs that I have on my iPod did NOT come from a previous computer, they all have been bought through iTunes on the iPod Touch, how do I get those songs on my new computer? Thank you!
P.S. OH! I also just got the Time Capsule (2TB), so I am not sure if that would solve my problem.This is answered often.

My ipod touch shows up in Itunes, but does not display sync screen.
It does not sync or backup. The backup bar gets stuck at about 5%. I have removed and reinstalled iTunes several times and still nothing. I have also restored the ipod and that did nothing as well. Please help
No error messages. I just can't drag anything into my music folder and if I check a playlist, artist, song or anything the "apply" button stays greyed out and I can't sync.

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod cant see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.

turned the power option for the my usb to always on...
The diagnostics from itunes shows I'm runnning firmware version 1.1 on my ipod nano which makes sense because I'm unable to update the software because itunes will not recognize it in the main menu.
I have another ipod hooked up to this computer occassionally.
Not at the same time though....
Please help!Thanks! For whatever bizarre reason for which I have no answer - I sync'd my iPad to my MBP the old fashion way (not iCloud) and the movie showed up just fine. It is Nikon camera 'how to' video. I like to watch them for a better indepth discovery of what the camera can do. The only weird thing about the hard wire sync is that it was placed in a catagory "home movies" which was never there before...actually it showed up in two places "home movies" and TV shows.
So, thanks anyway! Pretty cat!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reboot the computer
- Try another USB port and cable
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Try on another computer (do not sync) to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem
