Calendar Features Needed

Things I want to be able to do (am I missing something?):
1. Duplicate an existing event, with all its field contents & notes, so I can simply change the date of the duplicate for a return engagement, without re-entering all the details (creating new event) or losing the history (modifying current event).
2. Create/Edit an event while on the phone, and NOT lose the event if I return to the phone without saving: Warn Me! (Interface basics!)
3. See Calendars with the same color I assign in iCal: the phone can do any color, why doesn't it respect what I've chosen?
4. Edit an event's Calendar association, AFTER I've created and saved the event, IOW in Edit mode.
5. Link events to contacts, so I can click back and forth between them, AND keep a history of events associated with a given contact.
I don't think any of these except 5 is difficult, they've all been done for years on numerous other platforms. Hey, Apple! If you're not going to do it yourself, let somebody else!

Has anyone coded a booking calendar feature into BC?

My customer has a building business and would like to include a booking calendar feature that does the follow process each time a booking is generated:
1. Online booking form that includes:
• a list of trades to choose from.
• asks for a postcode (the area is very important as this service will not be offered in every suburb of sydney). If the suburb is out of area a response page is generated saying that we cannot help them in that suburb.
• If their postcode is accepted in the area of serviceability then the next part is detailing the type of service required.
• Then there needs to be a calendar that they can choose a time and day. The calendar must not show today or tomorrow as available times. In other words, there needs to be a window of 2 days before anyone can make a booking. The calendar must also be able to block out the certain days of the week and this needs to be editable from the back-end by the administrator.
• The next step is an invoice is generated for the customer and payment is made by credit card in BC.
2. Once a booking has been made the workflow must include the following:
The booking request is sent via e-mail to all tradesman (users of BC) and they need to respond with an ACCEPT or REJECT the job. If no acceptance is made within 12 hours, then the request is escalated to an (Administration person of BC).
3. Once a booking has been accepted. A calendar style events page is updated. This calendar shows all the jobs booked in and is only accessible by the Administrator.
ALSO 3. Once a booking has been accepted. A another calendar style events page is updated showing only the jobs booked in for a specific tradesperson and is only visable by that tradesperson.
4. A confirmation e-mail is sent to the client that has made the booking saying that "Mr Joe Blow" will be attending this job on that day etc etc.
Can anyone code this? If so I need to talk to you ASAP. My customer is ready to proceed.

Apparently is is a Google Chrome browser issue. There is no issue in Firefox. BC says they are working on a solution.

Not sure this will work but if you go into the Keyboard preferences, then click the Keyboad Shortcuts tab, and then the '+', you can add your own shortcuts for any application. I am not sure what happens if you try to override an existing shortcut since I haven't tried using this.
Edit/Update:
Probably against my better judgement I'll also throw this out there - there's an Unsanity haxie called Menumaster which might also allow you to do what you want. Against my better judgement because personally I stay clear of haxies. It's (all haxies) probably almost certain to break in Lion. They always do with each major release.

client-originated sessions, but still leaves the ability I am
looking for unavailable.
It did serve to definitively answer my most pressing
question, however, with this statement:
Note: ColdFusion cannot create a session if an initiator
application uses a SendGatewayMessage method to start an
interaction with a client, such as an SMS user. In this case, the
sending code must keep track (for example, in a database) of the
messages it sends and their destinations. When a response event
arrives, it can look up the origniatorID to determine whether it
was in response to an outgoing message.
I will play around with the Application scope to see if there
might be a workable solution there.

I agree... I feel the iCal calendar feature was an after thought. if you goto settings it is the only application you cannot customize or change settings. I hope they pay more attention to this app in the very near future with an update.
It is very frustrating to see the many colors in my iCal calendar and then on the phone they are all over the place in that same boring blue / grey color..
I hope Apple is listening..

Calendar Feature?

A new business requirement for our company is to use a calendar feature on the portal that is used (potentially company wide). As a person signs into portal, their calendar would be pre-filled with activies (that another group would populate). Within the activities, they would like them to link to further detail about the activity clicked.
This would not tie to outlook, but would be a managed process by the business. I know there is a calendar feature in Collaboration - but not sure if those could be used or enhanced to support the business requirement.
Has anyone done anything like this within portal (using a calendar and tasks dyanmically or know of a technology that could support this?)

This comes as a part of Groupware Integration within collobaration component of netweaver.This is tied with Exchange server.

It is only available for late 2006 model iPods. The Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006) serial number's last three digits will be one of the following: V9K, V9P, V9M, V9R, V9L, V9N, V9Q, V9S, WU9, WUA, WUB, WUC, and X3N.
If yours is an older model, it doesn't have it, nor is it available via a software update.

When I create a note in calendar and add location > Assign from Maps, I get error message: Calendar: Feature not supported
Is there way to fix it somehow?
Will SW update help?

A question about the Calendar feature on a Samsung SCH-u410?

I have an older Samsung SCH-u410, and I have a question about using the Calendar feature. I will set an event in the calendar and set a reminder. Then later I will turn the reminder off, but the alarm will still go off. Shouldn't setting the reminder box to off turn the alarm off. Am I forgetting to do something or is there a problem with my phone? Any info will be gratefully appreciated!!!! I can be e-mailed directly at >> personal information deleted <<

Thank you for your post Junebug. On most phones, turning the reminder off will stop the alarm from sounding. As this is a much older device, I don't have a phone to test. Have you tried removing the calendar event completely? Did you recently purchase this phone or have you had this for awhile?

Zen Micro Calendar feature, how to set up to sync with MS Outlo

hi,
i finally got my zen micro working, it has fully charged and i have downloaded some songs to it, the sound is great and it's playing the music!!!
i'm now testing the calendar feature. does anyone know or have instructions on how to set up the zen micro to sync with MS Outlook to download the contacts, notes, etc?

i used the cd that came with the zen micro. what i did now is uninstall all creative softeware from my computer. rebooted.
then install the zen software for the micro. rebooted
after that, there was no shortcut to the zen micro explorer, only thing in the shortcut was the product registration.
but i installed the same on a machine that runs Windows 2000 and it installed everything correctly.
whereas the machine that does not work is using windows xp.
would there be a conflict with the zen micro software on a windows xp operating system?

I don't use anything to "Synch" my calendar with since I typically don't use anything "synch-wise"
Do I have to use another app or can't I simply create a calendar on my Droid. Does this make sense?

In other words - is the only way to enter appointments into my calendar on my phone by having to use Google calendar first & having to synchronize it? I use a paper calendar @ he office & do not use outlook or Google calendar to set appointments - there's no need for me to do that.
Sooo I have to log on to my desktop, enter my appointment in my google calendar & then synchronize it to my droid??

Calendar : Feature request - location field

Hi,
I find useful the new field "Location" in Calendar. It allows to see a realtime estimate of travel time.
I teach at a college and I have been using this field, prior to 10.9, for entering room/office/class address within the buildings of my college. It is useful since it shows in the title of the event and provide a quick reminder of where I need to go. But using the field to enter my college address to have an estimate of travel time (traffic fluctuates a lot), prevents that.
So, I would find really useful if you could add 1 field for a total of 2 : 1 for geographic addresses (linked to Maps) and 1 for office/class addresses, i.e. rooms within a building.

You're not talking to Apple here, just other users like yourself. To make your feature request directly to Apple you can file feedback here. The more who file the more chance it will get done.

Pre Plus won't sync more than latest 3 months from Google Calendar. Need help.

I was a very happy owner of my new Pre Plus until I tried to sync my multi-year Google Calendar to my PP, when only the last three months of my GC data would sync to my PP.
Some higher level Palm techs and I spent quite a lot of time on the phone, trouble shooting and testing. Ulltimately, we were unable to solve the problem. The last tech I spoke with acknowledged that currently there are performance problems with the PP if a lot of GC data is downloaded. Apparently Palm has decided (for now) to prevent us new PP owners from choking our PP's performance by limiting our initial downloads to only the most recent three months of GC data. I was told that Palm is working on this problem and it probably would be fixed with the next update.
I've searched the forum and didn't see any other mention of this problem. Any one else experiencing this problem?
*** My questions: Can someone at Palm tell me (1) Is this is a problem that is being worked on by Palm/Verizon? (2) If so, should be fixed soon? (I only have about 10 days left in my 30 day trial of the PP at Verizon. If I can't have all of my GC data on my phone I will have to turn it back in before the trial period ends.) (3) Can you suggest some other trouble shooting I could try? (4) Can you suggest a workaround?
(I can provide a somewhat comprehensive list of the trouble shooting already tried and my Service Request Number, if needed.)

The time period for syncing calendar events is a setting.
Go into Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Scroll down to you get to Calendars. Where it says Sync, you have an option to change how long you want to sync.
The Default is Events 1 Month Back, but you can choose All Events.
