Calendar permissions not working (Room calendar)

Hey guys, we recently moved from on-prem to exchange online. We have calendar resources for our meeting rooms. However, either permissions aren't working properly, or I just don't understand the changes/differences between on-prem 2010, and exchange online.
Example:
After noticing there were permissions issues: in Office 365 Exchange Admin Center, I've gone to Recipients, then Resources, and opened the meeting room object (Mailbox Type: Room, also, it was of the Room type before we migrated the mailbox to online). I
went to Mailbox Delegation and added my account to the Full Access list. While I can open the calendar in Outlook (everyone can), I can't edit any events. If I double click on them I get the following error.
"You do not have permission to view this calendar. Do you want to ask [calendar name] to share his or her Calendar with you?"
Now, our receptionist can still edit events on the calendar despite not having any access whatsoever (according to anything I can find on the room/mailbox in exchange online, at least). On the receptionists profile (on her computer) if I add my account as
an "Owner" of the calendar (right click > properties > permissions > add > with permission level: Owner) I still can't edit any events on the calendar... What gives????
Automatic booking seems to be working. Users can send meeting requests to the rooms and they'll automatically accept or decline based on the rules. We just want a few users (receptionist, IT folks, and a backup) to be able to modify any/all events when/if
needed.
Help! What do I either not understand, or how can I fix this?

What does Get-CalendarProcessing show, especially for ResourceDelegates? Also, make sure to test the permissions from OWA, Outlook can act funny at times.

any ideas why my premissions repair are not working in my new leapoard is there a free phone to apple
because i bought my os x 10.5 from them

Tony, if you think it isn't working because all you see is the blue & white "barber pole" display instead of the all blue progress bar during the repair, rest assured that this is just a display bug & the repair actually is being done. It can take a long time for the repair -- much longer than in Tiger, so be patient -- give it as much as 10 minutes or more to complete & you should see the 'permissions repair complete' message eventually.
If you are seeing something else, my apologies for assuming otherwise. Please describe more about why it isn't working & perhaps we can help you.

  • Setting Custom Calendar Permissions not working Outlook 2013

    Hi,
I am trying to create a custom calendar permission for a calendar for a member of staff, he wants another member of staff to see that he's free/busy, create items, edit own and delete own. when I set this, only the free/busy under Read is applied, the
other user cannot edit the calendar. Is this a known bug within outlook 2013?, is there a fix? can I use exchange 2010's management console to add a custom permission?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Bondy,
Based on my research, such permissions cannot be implemented. The member won't be able to create/edit the calendar without
    Read Full Details permission.
If you don't want the user to see some items in your calendar, you can mark the items as private by clicking the item and then clicking
Private button under Calendar Tools tab.

  • Send As and Full Controll permissions not working in OWA

I have an exchange 2013 enviroment where I work with send as and full access permisions via Active Directory groups.
I have given the group FC on a shared maibox and in outlook, the user who is member of this group can open the additional mailbox.
In owa the same user cannot open the additional mailbox, exept when I give the user directly FC on this mailbox.
How do I configure Exchange so the user can access the additional mailbox in owa, without giving him directly FC permissions.
btw In an exchange 2010 enviroment this issue is not there.

    Hi,
From your description, I recommend you restart IIS by running IISReset from a command prompt and check the result. I see others have the same issue, they resolve it by running IISReset.

  • SQL 2014 - Group Membership for sysadmin permissions not working

I am using SQL 2014 on Windows Server 2012 R2 and am running into a permission issue. During the install I specified the local server's Administrators group as well as my specific domain account to have sysadmin privileges.
The issue is that accounts that are a member of the local server's administrators group can't even login to SQL Server Management Studio unless they are specifically granted permissions for their account (my domain account works fine as it has a specific
    credential in SQL).
The log just gives the following error:
Login failed for user 'domainname\username'. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error. Check for previous errors. [CLIENT: <local machine>]
    Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11.
I haven't had this issue in previous versions. Is there something that must be done differently in 2014 to grant permissions to groups?

  • Verify Disk permissions not working

Just updated to 10.5.1. No problem with the install. Everything seems to be working fine. BUT, I updated a couple programs that had patches for Leopard. Went to verify the disk permissions etc... after these updates and now the verify process has just stalled repeatedly. This used to take 25-35 seconds or so in 10.4.11. I have had the progress bar telling me "about a minute" for nearly 20+ minutes on 2 attempts. The STOP VERIFY buttons works immediately however...
Should I be concerned about this situation? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Some details my computer generated when I tried to Repair Permissions follow. Perhaps they will be of some help to someone who can figure out what's happening.

  • Repairing Disk Permissions - Not Working with Lion

I simply am not able to repair disk permissions when my Mac is booted normally - the disk utility hangs and never stops - when I boot in recovery more I can run the utility just fine - and then boot as normal.  I am wondering what might be causing this or if anyone else is having a similar problem?

With Lion, it is best to do any disk repairs via the recovery partition
And why do you say that?  I have heard no such thing, and this was never the case with previous systems.  It has always been recommended to repair permissions while booted from the system whose permissions need to be repaired.  Do you have documentation that this recommendation has changed?
Joe, repairing permissions works fine for me without needing to boot into recovery mode.  Are you giving it plenty of time to finish?  Sometimes it may seem to be frozen... sticking on "less than a minute" for well more than a minute, for example.  Have you repaired the hard drive (which you do need to boot from the recovery partition to do)?

  • New hard drive - Disk Permissions not working

Recently had my Hard Drive relplaced, and while updating ran in to multipul issues.
The main one being with iTunes, I can't download songs I purchased from my iPhone & when I try to do it manually it tells me the my permissions need to be changed. So I ran a permissions verification on DiskUtility and it's telling me a whole bunch of stuff doesn't match up.
    Should I run a repair?
    Any other ideas?
Also, my last hard drive had no issue installing Mountain Lion, and this one refuses.
Any one else have this issue?

    MK6475GSX
Yes, that has AFT. See MKxx75GSX.
    I uploaded all the drivers..
But the point is that when you restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media, all the drivers are already properly installed. Everything should work as it originally did.
I would perform the restore again and immediately install this driver.

  • Changes to Read/Write permissions not working

I have had issues with authorizing and licensing third party music production plugin applications. I'm running Yosemite 10.10.2 on an iMac. When authorizing a specific program an error message reading - "Registration File Error (permission denied, error #8313)" I was told to change the disk permissions to Read and Write for everyone. I unlocked the window and changed the permissions accordingly. I ran the authorization again and the same error shows up, despite having been changed. Will the Disk Utility "Repair permissions" tab correct this problem? I have retried this operation more than several times and no dice. Very frustrating problem and is delaying several production projects.

Hi Linc - I went to the preferences page for the Mac hard disc and changed the "everyone" tab to Read & Write in the Sharing and Permissions window. In each case where I changed the access, I unlocked and then locked the window once it was changed. Even restarted the computer. Each time that I did this and then tried authorize the software the same error message appeared. It just seems like the Read & Write function isn't taking effect. I've been working with the software company and they have  replicated the problem, but were able to change their preferences tab so that the authorization went through. Is there a way around this problem? I've been going back and forth with the software company trying to solve the problem for several weeks now.

  • File view permissions not working in Rel 1

I'm part of a team setting up a new portal; Oracle 9iAS rel 1.
I have a portlet which is really a view into a folder called Social Events. Under Folder Style > Access, permission is granted to the company group: View Content, Manage Items, and this access has been cascaded down to all sub-folders. "Make Public" is left blank. "Enable Item Security" is left blank.
Within the folder are two sub-folders. Summer 2002 Picnic & Chili Cook-Off, 11/02
Within each are general files and a sub-sub-folder (Photos): under General is the event flyer, and after the event occurs, photos will be uploaded.
This portlet is on the Home page. Everyone is a member of the company group; and the company group can Customize (add only) anything on the Home page.
The trouble is, when my users click on the flyers (.ppt or .doc files), the files do not open.
I have had to reset the folder access to "Make Public" so that people can click on and open the files.
We definitely do not want our files open to the general public. (actually, we don't care about these particular files, but do about all the others soon to be uploaded)
    What am I doing wrong??
    Thanks,
    Sheri

Deepak, thank you for the link. Unfortunately, that thread hasn't helped me. Notice that I've gone so far as to do the following:
    1. In NQSConfig.ini, I've changed the DEFAULT_PRIVILEGES to NONE
    2. In the repository, under Manage Identity, I've set all access rights for this column to NO ACCESS for every user and every application role. I've manually clicked No Access for every single Application Role and every single User on every row, including the Everyone row.
    3. Restarted BI Server
In theory, that very severe two-step action should make the column disappear from every user. Nobody should be able to see it. Would you agree?
However, the column is still visible to everybody.
If I include the column in an analysis, it returns no results, just a column heading and empty cells, so at least that's a good thing. Still, it shouldn't be visible at all in the Subject Area.

  • Permissions not working in portal

I am setting permissions in ep 7.0  to iview ,workset and role but it ssems to have no effect.
I have an iview  which is added to a workset which is added to a role containing many such worksets
Now I went to Sytem Administration-> Portal permissions and right clicked on iview and workset to open permissions.
Now when I edit this permissions ie. remove all users and groups and keep only the super admin in permissions editor still any other user can access the iview and workset.
    Please guide me.

    Hi Anzar,
Yes you are right. You will have to do this by checking on the permissons using permission editor in System Admin.
I believe that this might be happening due to the cache. Can you try and clear the browser and navigation cache. Can you also try and change the Fetch Mode property of the iview to Server side.
    Thanks,
    Nikhil

  • Repair Disk Permissions not working?

Based on a printer problem, HP suggested that I run Repair Disk Permissions. I did, generating 9 pages of fixes.  But if I clear the history and run it again immediately, the same list of repairs is generated, suggesting that nothing was fixed.

  • Continuous scrolling not working in Calendar month view

Scrolling does not work in Calendar month view. I have toggled System Preferences >General > Show scroll bars to "Always on." Still nothing in Calendar month view.
BUT, wait! Now every other app (except Calendar month view) now has the scroll bar "Always on" even though I toggled back to "Automatically based on...", then restarted my computer. I don't want to see the scroll bars all the time but now I can't hide them anywhere. It seems "Always on" amd "Automatically based on..." now do the same thing. Serious bug.
    Any hints? Thanks

This is odd,  but the calendar scrolling in Month view is working on my machine.   It's been through various reboots - and I checked the disc (SSD) and permissions.
Seems to me that the calendar application is sensitive to the scrolling.
Also,  I've been suffering from Firefox vertical scrolling stopping.  The "fix" is to quit & restart Firefox.  However... this scroll-crashing behaviour goes away for a few days then comes back with a vengence.  Again,  I've a feeling that a full reboot seems to help things.
Yet another mouse-related problem I've been having is with VMWare.  These frequently interpret a single-click as a double-cliick or even triple-click.  Some chatter in the VMWare forums about this too.
All of this behaviour *never* ocurred prior to the Mavericks upgrade.

  • I have an event in my calendar that was sent by someone who does not work for the company anymore and I am reminded 2 times a week. How can I remove it?

I have an event in my calendar that was sent by someone that does not work for the company anymore and I am reminded 2 times a week. How do I delete it?

Tap on the event to open the event. Click the 'Edit' button in the event bubble, then press the 'Delete Event' button at the bottom of the Edit pop-up. It's a little different for events that come through Microsoft Exchange, you tap the event to bring up bubble and click the 'Details' button, and then press 'Decline' to remove the event.
