Calendar popup in a PDF form

How do you create a popup calendar in a fillable PDF form?
I am running Acrobat on a Mac Air with the current OS.

There's no such component in PDF forms, only in those created in LiveCycle Designer.
There are some third-party tools, though, that bring this functionality to PDF forms. The most known is the free one by FormRouter, which is based on form fields. The other is not free and is by fellow-expert Max Wyss, and it's based on a dialog object and therefore clutters the file less.

  • How to set a pop up calendar control in pdf  form using javascript?

    I'd like to add a pop up calendar control in a PDF form using Adobe Javascript.
    The user should be able to select a date from the calendar control.
    Awaiting a solution at  the earliest.

    Let's say I did provide you with a solution... Wouldn't that be a "third-party solution" as well?
    These tools are not compiled, you know. You have direct access to their source-code and can make sure they don't do anything else beside what they're supposed to do.

  • Help with exporting data from pdf form

    I have about 100 pdf forms that I created in adobe forms central and distributed as a pdf form (rather than on the web). I am trying to export the data into a spreadsheet but when I export it, the fields are all jumbled in the csv file, as in they are not in the same order. I need to export the data all together so I'm going to the forms menu and selecting "manage form data" and then selecting "merge data files into spreadsheet". I tried exporting a single file but that gave me something really weird.
    Please help, I have a deadline next week to analyze this data and can't make sense of it once it is exported to a spreadsheet.

    Would you please share your form with me and send me one of your pdf forms and some of the csv files?
    You can share your form by doing the following:
    1. Click on the “Share” icon on the bottom left corner.
    2. Click on “Add Collaborator” on the popup menu.
    3. Enter [email protected] under “People to share with”.
    4. Set subject to "Export data from pdf form"
    5. Click the “Share” button on the bottom right of the dialog.
    Thanks

  • How can I close an Open PDF form without crashing the browser

    Hi
    We have build a webdynpro application in Java. In this application, we are make using of the Interactive form to bring up  a PDF form that the users can print. Our issue is that no matter what approach we take there is no gracefull way to exit once the PDF is displayed.
    Here are the approaches we took.
    1) Embed the PDF in the existing Window. The form comes up correctly with all fields, but there is no way to get out from it. A browser back doesnt help, nor is there a default close button in the PDF window.
    2) Bring up the PDF on a separate window.The PDF does come up fine on this new window. We were hoping to use the window.destroyInstanece() method on this new window to both close the window and gracefully exit the PDF form. This too dint quite work out and resulted in a browser crash.
    I am sure others must have faced a similar problem. Are there any suggestions on how we can handle this. I found a few other posts with similar issues but no clear answers.
    We are using Adobe 7.0.9 Reader on the client end.
    Regards
    Aju Paul

    I have been working with Aju on this issue. We are still experiencing the issue.
    We have tried using the destroyWindow() method and using a fireplug to redirect the application. When we have an Interactive form embedded on one of the views in the window, the application will cause a browser crash when we try to destroy popup window or redirect the applicaiton.
    If we remove the Interactive form from the view, we can destroy the window and we can redirect the application. The problem only  occurs when the Interactive form is present.
    We have recently upgraded our server to SP10. I have also reloaded the ACF on my pc. Neither of the steps resolved the issue. What else can we look at to see what may be causing the issue.

  • Converting a pdf form to pdf doc so it can't be altered.

    I have a pdf form that I use to complete test reports for the city.  I then need to send that completed form to the customer and city but I want to send it as a pdf document so it can't be altered.  How can I do this?  I use to be able to print to Create PDF but now it's not available so I have tried this Create PDF online but still can not get it to save as just a pdf doc.

    Hi Diego237,
    If I understand you correctly you have a fillable PDF form that you fill with some report information, then you send that PDF form to customers via email, but you don’t want them to be able to altering it.
    You may use Adobe Acrobat to set/change restrictions for your PDF document – to specify what your customers could do with the document. For that just execute the following steps:
    1. Open your already filled PDF form document in Acrobat
    2. Chose File> Properties, select Security tab in Document Properties dialog.
    3. Choose Password Security in Security Method popup menu – it opens “Password Security – Settings” dialog. In Permissions area Select check-box “Restrict editing and printing of the document.
    4. In “Printing Allowed” drop down menu specify allowed printing options
    5. In “Changes Allowed” drop down menu specify “None” or otherwise whatever you want your customers be able to do with your PDF form.
    6. You need to provide password (for you to remember so that only you will be able to change that document again when needed),
    7. You need to Save that document for your new restricted permissions to take effect.  Then close and reopen the document – and verify permissions in Security tab of the Document Properties dialog. And if that’s what you intended – you could email that PDF document to your customers
    Now if you don’t have Adobe Acrobat yet but only free Reader, you would need to download a free trial version of Acrobat XI  Pro from here.
    And if that solution is working for you, please check out Adobe Acrobat Plus pages:
    https://www.stage.acrobat.com/acrobatplus/en/home.html
    on how you could upgrade your CreatePDF subscription to Acrobat Plus subscription to allow you full right to download and use Acrobat XI Pro desktop application on your computer further on.

      response->set_header_field(
                         name  = 'content-disposition'
                         value = 'attachment; filename=webforms.pdf' ).
      response->set_data( data   = pdf ).
    Once button is clicked pop up is opened and closed automatically because of browser or adobe reader issue.
    How can I resolve this problem ?
    In the IE i need to change any settings ?
    IE version = 7.0
    Adobe reader = 9.0
    I have tried in the same code with IE = 6.0 and adobe reader 8.1.2 its getting download the pdf form working fine.
    The same think i want in IE 7.0 and adobe reader 9.0, what needs to be done ?

    Hello Ravi,
    Best would be to bind the dataSource of the InteractiveForm ui element to the parent node containing the table's data. Then specify a name of a template to be created in the templateSource and hit <enter>. Some popups later, the system will have created a template from the structure of the context. All you need to do now is to drag&drop the data structure inside the template designer to the template itself. This will result in a table. Save, activate and return the Web Dynpro view. Don't forget to unbind the pdfSource and enjoy.
    Best regards,

  • Is there a way to submit a pdf form without redirecting my web page?

    I have a fillable pdf form inside of a web page.  When a user clicks on a submit button I have the pdf calling the submitform method.  This redirects the web page to the url I specified inside of my pdf document.  I don't want the web page to be redirected.  I would like to have the pdf submitted to the server and know when I have handled the submission.  Is there a way to do this?

    Normally you'd return an (X)FDF in this situation. It can contain content that causes an informative popup dialog to be displayed to the user, fill in form fields, and some other things. Are you able to reprogram the server to return an FDF instead of HTML?

  • Submitting a PDF form --- save and send completed PDF document?

    A small government site has a number of 'submittable' PDF
    form documents
    that they'd like me to include on the website. I am not very
    familiar
    with PDF forms in this way, and hope someone here can help
    sort out a
    few things...
    Can a PDF form be submitted so that
    a) the completed PDF doc is saved on the server (and renamed)
    b) a printable , completed PDF (looks just like the one they
    filled out,
    with all their values saved in the input boxes) is emailed to
    specific
    address
    c) the raw user data is saved to database (maybe a list of
    fields in one
    column of a db table, and a matching list of values in
    another? this
    would just be for backup in case the completed PDF did not
    save
    correctly to the server, or for later reference)
    We've looked at the standard Acrobat 'submit via email' and
    that won't
    cut it... that method appears to simply trigger a 'mailto'
    popup, with
    the pdf as an attachment. Our system needs to be automated
    via CFmail.
    None of these would handle any 'sensitive' information, the
    main
    concern, from their part, is people being able to submit the
    form and
    have both the city office and the recipient get a copy that
    prints just
    as if they had hit 'print' when filling out the actual PDF.
    Is all of this possible ??
    if so... any tips appreciated!

  • How to tag a Print PDF form ?

    Hi,
    I need some pointers on how to tag a print PDF form. For one of the requirements, we developed a Print PDF form. The form contains Sub-forms which are made to look like a table. The relevant parameter(i.e., pdf_tagged ) is already set before starting the Job. The special case here is that the table gets the text for the header from the application data and shrinks or grows(upto a max supported column count) according to application data. For the same reason we cannot have a table, header row and body row marked in the accessibility tab in the form development transaction. Also, it is required that a header has to be visible.
    So currently in the form :
    1)We have just a set of sub-forms made to look like a table.
    2)We do not have any table,header or body row identified in the accesibility tab.
    3)Table also grows and shrinks horizontally.
    4)First row of the table is made to look like a Header row(bold text) and gets the data from the application data.
    5)This PDF is then displayed in a popup.
    6)The PDF form is currently not tagged (not accessible).
    Any pointers on how to resolve the issue would be highly appreciated.

  • How to close PDF form in Browser

    Hi,
    Does anyone knows if there are any way to close a PDF form that is opened in a browser (Internet Explorer 6)?
    In my form, there is a button that is supposed to close the form when clicked, it is working if I launched the form in Reader but does not work in a browser.
    The script that I used in the click event of the button is:
    event.target.closeDoc();
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    heres the code
    1. Go to <Your Webdynpro project> - WebDynpro - Web Dynpro Components - <your component> - Windows right click and create a window (PdfWindow).
    2. Place the view that contains pdfForm in the window PdfWindow.Create a button in the view say ClosePdf .
    3. Create a context attribute say WindowInstance of type com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.window.Window (java native type) in the component controller.Map this attribute to the context of both views (view with button and Pdfview)
    3. In the onAction of button
    IWDWindowInfo windowInfo = (IWDWindowInfo) wdComponentAPI.getComponentInfo().findInWindows("PdfWindow");
    IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createWindow(windowInfo,true);
    window.setWindowPosition(500, 500);
    window.show();
    wdContext.currentContextElement.setWindowInstance(window); // this iwll bw used to destroy the pop up
    4. In Pdfview create a action closepopup and associate with button ClosePdf. In the action write
    IWDWindow window = wdContext.currentContextElement.getWindowInstance();
    window.destroy(); // this will close the popup.
    Note:
    you dont need wdContext.currentContextElement().setPdfVisible(WDVisibility.VISIBLE); as your pdfform is in different view.

  • PDF form problem in web dynpro

    Hello Everybody,
    I have some problem with PDF form in web dynpro application.
    I have used T layout view set. On top view i put one image. On left view i have tree element. On right side i have all other elements.
    Right side, different views are displayed depending upon the option chosen from tree. But, when I opened view containing Adobe form and then try to choose any other options, Internet browser gives system error and browser closed.
    What should be the reason behind this?
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Hi Markus,
    What should be the version of ACF.
    I have installed ACF SP11.
    My WAS server is SP12.
    Acrobat reader version is 7.0.5.
    But if i change Acrobat reader version to 6.0.3 then it works. But i want version 7.0.5 for date popup.

  • PDF Forms in Firefox - infinite loop

    Howdy,
         I am a developer who is using PDF forms (FDF) to populate data into a database via form submission. Everything works fine on Internet Explorer but, on Firefox 3.6.17 with Adobe Reader X, I either end up getting a blank form when launched from an FDF which has valid data OR, I get into a situation where new firefox windows come up continuously in what appears to be an infinite loop (have to log out to end the recursion). Anyway, figured I'd see if anybody here had seen that before and, if so, if there's a solution to it?
    Thanks!

    I have a similar problem, but apparently in the inverse direction. We recently "upgraded" to Acrobat X (Version 10.1).
    I have a web application that uses data in a database to populate a PDF form displayed in a browser window. (Display in browser window is checked.) At the beginning of August, we started to get an infinite loop whenever trying to display the form.
    Behavior pattern:
    (1) Click the link that's supposed to open the new form. A new IE window opens (as is supposed to happen). Status says "connecting" but there's nothing in the  URL.
    (2) 1/2 second later, a file download popup appears.
    (3) 1/2 second later,  Adobe Acrobat window appears (as if I had run Acrobat as a program). There are 4  windows on the screen at this point, including the normal application window.
    (4) After a 1/2  second delay, system goes into infinite loop, displaying (1) and (2) in an  infinite sequence.Window 3 (Acrobat) seems to simply stay open. Howeve
    Cycle time is about 1/2 second for all 3  popup windows to display one time. This occurs on 19 different  computers (different models, but all running Windows Vista Enterprise, Internet Explorer 7 and Acrobat 10.1.

  • Refresh of report hides jQuery calendar popup anchors

    In an attempt to build an interactive tabular form in Oracle Apex 4.0.2.00.07, we have based an interactive report on a query containing:
    SELECT ...
         , apex_item.date_popup2( p_idx              => 11
                                , p_value            => to_char(..., 'DD.MM.YYYY')
                                , p_date_format      => 'DD.MM.YYYY'
                                , p_size             => 12
                                , p_maxlength        => 10
                                , p_attributes       => 'onchange="..."'
                                , p_item_id          => 'f11_' || to_char(deincno)      -- deincno = primary key column
                                , p_show_on          => 'both'
    FROM   ...This renders perfectly. However, any interactive change in the report (filtering, sorting, hiding/showing columns, ...) will hide the calendar popup anchors, reducing the field to a normal text box. Only when the page is reloaded do the calendar popup anchors reappear.
    Any help or advice on how to prevent these anchors from dissapearing would be greatly appreciated.

    You need to rebuild the date pickers after the apexafterrefresh jquery event
    If you look at your page source > scroll to the bottom and you will see some jquery code that builds date-pickers initially on the page load
    (function(){apex.widget.datepicker("#f11_7369", { buttonImage: "/i/asfdcldr.gif", buttonImageOnly: true,"buttonText":"Calendar","showTime":false,"defaultDate":new Date(1980,11,17),"showOn":"button","showOtherMonths":false,"changeMonth":false,"changeYear":false}, "dd.mm.yy", "en-gb");})();You can look into your above code and find some of the contextual/dynamic parameters into the date-picker widget such as date format,image path etc...
    You can use those values to add this code accordingly
    Add this to your page header javascript
    apex.jQuery('#apexir_WORKSHEET_REGION').bind("apexafterrefresh", function () {
         // loop through the actual f11 column
         jQuery.each($('input[name="f11"]'), function () {
              //rebuild the datepickers
              var vid = "#" + $(this).attr('id');
              (function () {
                   apex.widget.datepicker(vid, {
                        buttonImage : "/i/asfdcldr.gif",
                        buttonImageOnly : true,
                        "buttonText" : "Calendar",
                        "showTime" : false,
                        "showOn" : "button",
                        "showOtherMonths" : false,
                        "changeMonth" : false,
                        "changeYear" : false
                   }, "dd.mm.yy", "en-gb");
    OR create a dynamic action with event after refresh and with action execute javascript
    // loop through the actual f11 column
    jQuery.each($('input[name="f11"]'), function () {
              //rebuild the datepickers
              var vid = "#" + $(this).attr('id');
              (function () {
                   apex.widget.datepicker(vid, {
                        buttonImage : "/i/asfdcldr.gif",
                        buttonImageOnly : true,
                        "buttonText" : "Calendar",

  • Download response as PDF form ....missing info

    I have a form running that has captured and recorded the correct data...and shows up correctly in the response table however when I "downlaod the response as a PDF form" some data is missing and some is there.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Derek
