Calendar work week

I work in the Middle East. The work week seclection on the Palm Treo is Mon-Fri or Sun-Thurs.
We work Sat-Wed.
Why is it not possible for a user to customise their own work week?
Post relates to: Treo Pro T850U (Unlocked)

Rather odd that the option is not included as the option to customise a work week exists in Outlook.
Will check for third party options to resolve - otherwise I will just have to tolerate it!
Thanks for the feedback.

  • Change Calendar Work Week

    The IOS5 software has changed the work week to start on a Sunday in Calendar, I want it to run from Monday to Sunday (as it did with the previous software).  How do I change the view to be Monday to Sunday?
    Please HELP - driving me MAD!

    This is one of those weird, nagging problems that Apple ignores even though the fix is so incredibly easy. Unless you change your international settings, you cannot choose the day you want to start the week.  And it makes absolutely no sense because they include the option in both iCal and iCloud calendars
    If this is essential to your week, then change the region to UK. This will screw everything else up though, including sending you to google.co.uk while searching in Safari and your phone numbers will be UK-style in Contacts.
    Just with the good in Apple, there is also the bad. They will give us the option to start our work week when they are good and ready, not when we want it, which is now.
    I want Monday to start my week. Unfortunately, even asking Apple for it through suggestions gets you nowhere unless you have a loud enough chorus. So here I say again... I WANT MY CALENDAR WEEK TO START ON MONDAY!!!!!

  • Evolution to start in Calendar - Work Week View

    Any hints?

    Thanks & Regards dhampall

    Hi dhampall_79,
    Ok, you could open the project you shared, and open RudiGrobler.Controls/Calendar/Themes/Generic.xaml file, and then you could find below part of code:
    <Style TargetType="{x:Type local:Calendar}">
    <Setter Property="Template">
    <Setter.Value>
    <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type local:Calendar}">
    <Border Background="#E3EFFF"
    BorderBrush="#6593CF"
    BorderThickness="2,2,2,2">
    <Grid>
    <Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
    <ColumnDefinition Width="50" />
    <ColumnDefinition Width="*" />
    </Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
    <Grid.RowDefinitions>
    <RowDefinition Height="38" />
    <RowDefinition Height="22" />
    <RowDefinition Height="*" />
    </Grid.RowDefinitions>
    <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" Margin="5,0,0,0">
    <Button Content="Previous" Height="25" Command="{x:Static local:Calendar.PreviousDay}" Background="{x:Null}" BorderBrush="{x:Null}">
    </Button>
    <Button Content="Next" Height="25" Command="{x:Static local:Calendar.NextDay}" Background="{x:Null}" BorderBrush="{x:Null}">
    </Button>
    </StackPanel>
    <Border BorderBrush="#6593CF" BorderThickness="0,0,1,1" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="1" />
    <local:CalendarDayHeader Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" x:Name="PART_DayHeader"/>
    <ScrollViewer Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" x:Name="PART_ScrollViewer">
    <Grid>
    <Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
    <ColumnDefinition Width="50" />
    <ColumnDefinition Width="*" />
    </Grid.ColumnDefinitions>
    <local:CalendarLedger Grid.Column="0" x:Name="PART_Ledger"/>
    <local:CalendarDay Grid.Column="1" x:Name="PART_Day" />
    </Grid>
    </ScrollViewer>
    </Grid>
    </Border>
    </ControlTemplate>
    </Setter.Value>
    </Setter>
    </Style>
    Above code is the appearance of the View, you could create your own view and replace
    <local:CalendarLedger Grid.Column="0" x:Name="PART_Ledger"/>
    <local:CalendarDay Grid.Column="1" x:Name="PART_Day" />
    You could change above two lines to your control, and then you could get what you want.

    Hi andrius.kr,
    I understand. Then I can help to check the settings on the Exchange side.
    As far as I know, Entourage uses web services to connect to Exchange Server. Let's first test the web services by running Test-OutlookWebServices command, more details in the following blog:

  • Calendar app: Week days in the day view

    Hi,
    some days ago I had (in the day view of the calendar) the weekdays in the upper bar. But these are vanished and I don'd know why and do not know how to bring them back. I compared the day view to a collegue's Z30 day view but he has still the weekdays in the upper bar although it is the very same OS version. I also searched for a setting but I did not find any.

    Are you talking about having ONLY the weekdays in the upper bar? I get that when I'm in the Week view and have show work days in Calendar >Settings >General >Week View >Work Week.

  • Appointments Not Showing Up In Work Week View

    Hello
    I have Outlook 2013 with 3 calendars that overlay in my Calendar.
    When I am in Month view all the appointments show but when I go into Work Week they all disappear.
    I have attached screenshots.
    This worked before but when i re-added my account this no longer seems to work.
    Help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    It seems that the Work Week view is corrupted. Please try to reset Outlook view with /cleanviews switch to check the result. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the
    Run command, type outlook.exe /cleanviews and press
    Enter.
    If problem persists, we can try to run a repair of the Outlook data file to check if it helps. See:

  • How can I define my work week in 30 minutes steps?

    Hi developers,
    I have the following problem: A customer wants to define his work week with e. g. start time: 8:30am and can only chose between full hours. Is it possible to define lower iterations (e. g. 30 minutes steps)?
    We defined it in /_layouts/regionalsetng.aspx.
    Can anybody help me?
    Best regards,
    Björn

    Based on the underlying structure, it appears that the internal definition relies on the "hour" number for a start and end,
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spregionalsettings.workdaystarthour.aspx.
    That being said, you might be able to change it to a "30" minute start hour, (e.g. 510 for 8:30am). However, I'm not sure if this will work or is supported. If it does work, you might experience unintended behaviors in other areas that use the calendar.

  • Project resources with different working weeks

    Hi All,
    I have a project with resources in different locations (Australia and the Middle East) who have different work weeks.
    Australia (Monday-Friday)
    Middle East (Sunday-Thursday)
    Basically, common work week is Monday-Thursday, while the Australian resources do not work Sat/Sun, and the Middle East resources do not work Fri/Sat.
    I need to be able to schedule work for both resources, but I can't find a way to allocate work weeks in this way as it appears that work weeks is a global setting. Is there a way around this with holidays that i'm not seeing? Anyone have a solution to this,
    I can't be the first person to run a project in this manner.
    Help very greatly appreciated,
    Ryan

    RyanBaker --
    This is a really excellent question, by the way, because it gets at the heart of how Microsoft Project really works.  Remember that Microsoft Project is a scheduling tool.  You give it the correctly scheduling information and it will figure out
    the correct schedule for every task in the project.
    To resolve your situation, begin by creating two new Base Calendars:  an Australian calendar and a Middle East calendar.  On the Australian calendar, set the work week to Monday - Friday.  For the Middle East Calendar, set the work week to
    Sunday - Thursday.  On your Standard calendar, leave the schedule set to Monday - Friday.
    Next, assign the correct Base Calendar to each resource in the project.  For resources from Australia, set the Australia calendar as their Base Calendar.  For resources in the Middle East, set the Middle East calendar as their Base Calendar.  This
    will ensure that Microsoft Project schedules tasks correct when you assign resources to them.
    Leave the Standard calendar set as the Project and Nonworking Time calendars in the project.  Even though it will only show work from Monday through Friday, it will not matter.  When you begin assigning resources to tasks, Microsoft Project will
    reschedule the task, if needed, using the schedule shown as the Base Calendar for each resource.  For example, you have a 5-day task with no resources currently scheduled to start on a Monday and finish on Friday.  If you assign an Australian resource
    to this task, the schedule will not change.  But if you assign a Middle East resource to the task, the schedule of the task will change automatically to reflect the working schedule of this resource.
    Hope this helps.

  • Code to derive the Work Week (ISO IW doesn't fit the requirement)

    I could use some assistance with my pl/sql code to derive the work week from the current date.
    If January 1st lands on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, the work week for January 1st is '53'. If January 1st lands on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, the work week for January 1st is '1'.
    I think I have the logic down, but my pl/sql is admittedly weak.
    This is what I have thus far:
    create or replace procedure work_week_fn (work_week DATE) IS
    first_year_day INTEGER;
    my_work_week INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT '01-JAN-'||to_char(to_date(sysdate, 'DD-MON-RR'), 'YY') into first_year_day from dual;
    SELECT to_char(to_date(sysdate, 'DD-MON-RR'), 'WW') into my_work_week from dual;
    IF first_year_day IN ('SUNDAY','MONDAY','TUESDAY','WEDNESDAY') THEN
    dbms_output.put_line(my_work_week);
    ELSE dbms_output.put_line(my_work_week + 1);
    END IF;
    END;
    It's compiling, but I'm not getting the result I need. Any suggestions?

  • Need to pull records for full work week two weeks back

    I wanted to pull the results from two date fields and calculate the lapsed time. Both dates in the calculation are from the same field, so I used the command feature in Crystal to differentiate the two
    SELECT max("A"."CREATED_DATE") as installerContactCreatedDate,
    TO_NUMBER("A"."OBJECT_KEY")
    FROM "OMS"."AUDITS" "A"
    WHERE "A"."ATTRIBUTE_NAME" = 'installerContact'
    AND "A"."CREATED_DATE" > SYSDATE - 16
    group by "A"."OBJECT_KEY"
    SELECT max("A"."CREATED_DATE") as dateScheduledCreatedDate,
    TO_NUMBER( "A"."OBJECT_KEY")
      FROM "OMS"."AUDITS" "A"
      WHERE "A"."ATTRIBUTE_NAME" = 'dateScheduled'
    AND "A"."CREATED_DATE" > SYSDATE - 16
    group by "A"."OBJECT_KEY"
    Incidently: u201CAND "A"."CREATED_DATE" > SYSDATE u2013 16u201D was used to limit the results from a huge table and u201816u2019 has no real significance other than trying to return the minimal results for the report.
    once I had the above I used this:
    datediff("H",{Command.INSTALLERCONTACTCREATEDDATE},{Command_1.DATESCHEDULEDCREATEDDATE})
    Now to what I need to do; if I provided too much info I am sorry, I just was hoping to give enough.
    I need the results  for a full work week; the catch is I donu2019t need it for the previous week but for two weeks back; i.e. if I ran the report  on Monday the 19th  I want to pull records from the 5th to the 9th
    I know that this formula:
    {Command.INSTALLERCONTACTCREATEDDATE} in
      CurrentDate - DayofWeek(CurrentDate) - 5
    to CurrentDate - DayofWeek(CurrentDate) u2013 1
    will pull the prior full business week (m-f); i.e.  ran on Monday the 19th- pulls records for the 12th to 16th, no good for me.
    Furthermore, if the field is populated late Friday afternoon and field is not populated until the next week I need to capture that on the following weeks report- eventhough the first part was populated the prior week.
    So, report runs Mon. the 19th captures 5th to 9th, but  is populated the 9th and the is not populated til the 12th, 13th, or 14th then that cant show on report for week of 5th to 9th, but on the report for 12th to 16th.
    Iu2019d greatly appreciate any assistance and apologize if I made little to no sense when describing my issue.

    Try:
    SELECT max(case when a.attribute_name = 'InstallerContact'
                        then "A"."CREATED_DATE" else null end) as installerContactCreatedDate,
                 max(case when a.attribute_name = 'dateScheduled'
                        then "A"."CREATED_DATE" else null end) as dateScheduledCreatedDate,
         TO_NUMBER("A"."OBJECT_KEY")
    FROM "OMS"."AUDITS" "A"
    WHERE
    ("A"."ATTRIBUTE_NAME" = 'installerContact'
       AND "A"."CREATED_DATE" > SYSDATE - 45)
    OR
      ("A"."ATTRIBUTE_NAME" = 'dateScheduled'
       AND "A"."CREATED_DATE" between SYSDATE, - datepart("dw", sysdate) - 13
                                                 and SYSDATE - datepart("dw", sysdate) - 7 )
    group by "A"."OBJECT_KEY"
    having max(case when a.attribute_name = 'dateScheduled'
                        then "A"."CREATED_DATE" else null end) is not null
    (where datepart("DW", <date>) returns the day of week.  It's not clear what DB you are using.)
    This assumes that the installer date is within 32 days or so of the scheduled date.  Increase the 45 (or remove the date condition altogether - but that would be very slow on a big table) if that's not the case.
    sysdate - datepart() returns the prior Saturday,
    subtracting 7 days is the end of your week period (Saturday) two weeks ago,
    subtracting 13 is the Sunday of your week period two weeks ago.
    The case statement within the max() database aggregate functions will be null, and therefore not effect the results, if the attribute name is not the one we are interested in at the moment.
    The having clause will restrict the returned records to those objects scheduled within the week of interest.  (Since the WHERE clause is using an OR, there may be records with installerContact date > 45 days ago, but the dateScheduled is not within our week of interest.  In that case, the max() in the HAVING clause will be null.)
    And it's all done with one database query!
    HTH,
    Carl
