Calendarview using APEX

Dear Forum Members,
Do you know, if there is any possibility to implement a calendar database including something like the week view of Apples iCal (luxury) or at least something like the week view of WebCalendar (http://www.k5n.us/webcal-screenshots/wcss-week.png)?
Any comments welcome...
Thank you
Cheers,
Johann

Hello Johann,
Do you want to use this as a popup calendar (to select a date into a date field)?
If you want a region displaying a calendar containing information, you should try out to create a page with a Calendar region. In this region you can switch between a Monthly, Weekly and Daily view.
Greetings,
Roel

  • How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?

    HI,
    I am working on application, when i have written a process to send mail, i have a project where i have to send mail at a time for all the email id's
    given list there are upto 5000 email id's where text body also include certain set of data from a report. thinking at a time 3000 its difficult i divided
    it region wise, but still each region have 2000 odd email id's. during testing when i run the process just 950 mails i could send then i got a error
    saying "ORA-20001: You have exceeded the maximum number of email messages per workspace. Please contact your administrator." so please
    can any one help me to know How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?
    Thanks in advance
    Gowthami

    Hi jfosteroracle,
    You are getting the error may be the following reason,
    Check the following,
    Login as ADMIN and Goto -->Manage Instance-->Instance Settings--> Mail-->Maximum Emails per workspace
    Actually this number denotes the Number of mails can be sent per 24 hour for the workspace,It may exceeded.
    It may be the reason.
    Thank you.

  • Where html pages located, which created by using APEX?

    Hi,
    I am using APEX 2.1(Oracle XE) to develop an app, would like to know where html pages stored?
    In other word, how can I put the existing html pages into APEX web server? I don't want to run two web servers on same computer.
    This question may relate to update APEX from 2.1 to 2.2, how to do the upgrade, my APEX is included in Oracle XE.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    >I followed the method to view :8080/i, it's
    interesting, all stuffs are XE's but not find my own
    pages built by APEX.
    >I guess I'm confused now. You say "built by APEX"
    APEX doesn't build static pages so there is no way to
    access them statically.
    I thought what you wanted is you have static pages
    that you want to serve off an XE instance without
    using another webserver. By uploading your static
    html files into the /i/ directory you can serve them
    from there using the embedded webserver.
    If you want to server your pages from within the
    framework itself that at least means uploading them
    into the Shared Components and then linking to them
    in an iframe or frame to get valid pages or at the
    most getting the content sections into the database
    and pulling them into a region on a page.
    Your question is a little vague, can you be more
    detailed on what exactly you want and what you
    expect.
    CarlSorry for my unclear questions. But your answers are very right to me. Yes, I want to put my existing static html files into the /i/ directory, so I can serve them from there using the embedded webserver. I will upload them into Shared Components to try, I appreciate if you tell me how to make the link between these html pages to iframe. I am newby to this.
    My second question is that I use APEX built some test pages, but I can not find them in :8080/i virual fold.

  • Error when print report from apex using apex listener 2

    Hi
    Apex 4.2
    I want print report to pdf from apex using apex listener 2.
    The print server 'Oracle APEX listener' has been defined at the instance-level.
    ACL has been configured.
    I attempt to download a report in PDF mode, it appears that it downloads,
    but when I go to open it up I get an error that the file is of the wrong type or possibly corrupt.
    Upon opening the file in Text editor, there is an error as below
    %PDF-1.4
    1 瀛楄妭鐨?UTF-8 搴忓垪鐨勫瓧鑺?1 鏃犳晥銆?

    If you use Windows the user that runs the reports server is usually LocalSystem. Check this in the Windows Services panel.
    LocalSystem has no printer access. To be able to print, you have to use a real domain user that has access to the printer. So, change the Log on properties in the Services panel.

  • Help With "Package An Application" Using APEX  3.0.1 with XE

    I'm using apex 3.0.1 and XE Database and I'm trying to create a package application but without succes, I can find the way to do it and I know that it's possible. What I'm trying to do is create a file like the package application that we can download from Oracle page but for an application I create.
    Looking here in the forums I found this link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-jul/o46browser.html
    And I was trying to follow it step by step until I found the Step 4: Package Up the Application, number 7.
    1. In the breadcrumb links in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, click the Application nnn link (where nnn corresponds to the ID of the employee lookup application in your Oracle Application Express instance).
    2. Click the Edit Attributes icon, and then click Supporting Objects.
    3. Click Edit.
    4. In the Welcome section, enter readme text for the application in the Message field, such as "This application lets users browse employee information. Users accessing the application with a USERID stored in the table can upload a photo if one does not already exist."
    5. Click the right arrow to go to the Prerequisites tab.
    6. To ensure that folks who already have a table named OM_EMPLOYEES in their schemas don't run into a conflict with this script, enter OM_EMPLOYEES in the first Object Names field and click Add.
    [b]7. Click the Scripts tab.
    8. Click Create.
    9. Click the Copy from SQL Script Repository icon.
    10. Enter Create Table, Sequence, and Trigger in the Name field, and click Next.
    11. Select om_employees.sql, and click Create Script.
    12. Repeat steps 9 through 11 for the om_download_pict.sql and seed_data .sql scripts. Feel free to name these scripts as you see fit.
    13. Click the Deinstall tab, and click Create.
    14. Click the Create from File icon.
    15. Click Browse, select the drop_om_objects.sql script (included with this column's download file), click Open, and click Create Script.
    16. Click the right arrow.
    17. Select Yes for Include Supporting Object Definitions in Export.
    18. Click Apply Changes.
    I can't find the scrips tab and I completely lost. I start to believe that this steps don't apply for Apex 3.0.1.
    If anyone of you could help me with this, please do it, I really need it.
    Johann.

    Johann,
    That doc was probably written against 2.2 because in 3.0, we reworked the supporting objects page a bit. If you are on Supporting Objects, in the Installation region, click on Installation Scripts. For more information, check the Advanced Tutorials document off our OTN site for a Tutorial called Reviewing a Packaged App (something like that - I can't access the doc at the moment).

  • Upload multiple excel files into tables using APEX

    Hi folks,
    I'm wondering if anyone has ever uploaded multiple .csv files simultaniously and store the data into the database using APEX XE before.
    I can browse for a single file, and execute that okay and a good example of doing that can be found at http://advait.wordpress.com/2008/05/21/uploading-excel-sheet-using-oracle-application-express-apex/
    This works fine when the user browses to a specific file on their network and then uploads the data from that one file.
    However I need the ability to 'grab' every file in a specific directory one after the other to process rather than having to specify which one to load everytime, and wondered if anyone has come across this before.
    Many thanks
    Graham.

    Just for completeness ...
    Got this to work, but it's a pl/sql issue as opposed to an APEX issue.
    Anyway, if anyone needs to have the ability to read multiple files then a quick easy way to do it (as lomg as they know the file names that will be read), is to create a directory on the database which points to the actual harddrive on your PC, then create a table (called an external table) and read from that external table as if it was an actual database table ...
    1 - Log on as sys and grant CREATE ANY DIRECTORY to whatever user you are logging in as (assuming you are not using sys to create apps)
    2 - Create a directory e.g....CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY GB_TEST AS 'c:\gbtest';
    3 - Create an external table as ...
    CREATE TABLE gb_test
    (file_name varchar2(10),
    rec_date date
    rec_name VARCHAR2(20),
    rec_age number,
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
    TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
    DEFAULT DIRECTORY GB_TEST
    ACCESS PARAMETERS
    RECORDS DELIMITED BY NEWLINE
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    LOCATION ('data1.csv','data2.csv','data3.csv','data4.csv')
    PARALLEL 5
    REJECT LIMIT 20000;
    That's it then ...
    select * from gb_test
    where file_name = 'xxx'
    will return all the data where the file_name = 'xxx'
    very easy to use.

  • Need to send a link in mail using apex

    Hi,
    I need to send a mail using apex which will contain a link for a specific page. For sending mail , I used the following query:
    for c1 in (select EMAIL_ADDRESS
                 from USER_DETAILS
                where USER_NAME= :P4_USER_NAME and EMAIL_ADDRESS=:P4_EMAIL_ADDRESS) loop
      if c1.EMAIL_ADDRESS is not null then
        HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND(
          P_TO       =>  c1.EMAIL_ADDRESS,
          P_FROM     => '[email protected]',
          P_BODY     => 'Your new password is '|| 'xyzxyz',
          P_SUBJ     => 'Password detail' );
      end if;
    end loop;
    But how i will send the required link.
    Pls give some idea.
    Thanks,
    Chandra Bhanu

    Hi Chandra,
    Try this version of your code, you will alter the url to map to your apex server.
    DECLARE
       l_body   VARCHAR2 (4000);
    BEGIN
       FOR c1
          IN (SELECT email_address
                FROM user_details
               WHERE     user_name = :p4_user_name
                     AND email_address = :p4_email_address)
       LOOP
          IF c1.email_address IS NOT NULL
          THEN
             -- Include link to login page
             l_body :=
                   '<p>Your new password is '
                || 'xyzxyz'
                || '  To access the application and change your password, follow the '
                || 'link below.</p><p><a href="http://'
                || '</p><p><a href="http://edwprd:7777/pls/oitp/f?p=&APP_ID.:LOGIN</a></p>';
             apex_mail.send (p_to     => c1.email_address,
                             p_from   => '[email protected]',
                             p_body   => l_body,
                             p_subj   => 'Password detail');
          END IF;
       END LOOP;
    END;

    v_data_array(11);
    -- Clear out
    v_line := NULL;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END;
    what i understand from this is system does not identify v_data_array as array for some reasons, please help me.
    initially system was giving error for hex_to_decimal, but i managed to get this function on discussion forum and now it seems to be ok. but v_data_array problem is still there.
    thanks in advance

  • PDF printing using APEX Listener

    Hi -
    I have one report region a an apex page which displays a classic report based on a simple query. I also have a some header information above the report which are the application item information passed from the previous page. I am trying to generate a PDF report(using APEX listener), the report comes fine but it doesn't show the header information that is displayed above the report. Is there a way to do that? I tried putting some values in "Print Attributes" --> "Page Header" section but it just shows it as static text. Please provide your expertise.
    APEX version: 4.2.2
    Oracle:11gR2
    Printing Engine: Apex Listener
    Thanks,
    -Seenu

    You will need to build an Xsl document and load it into APEX..  Here is the link showing how to do advanced printing with APEX..:

  • Need to send mail using apex

    Hi,
    I am using apex 4.2 and oracle 11g XE. I need to send mail so I used the following code:
    HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND(
          P_TO       =>  '[email protected]',
          P_FROM     =>   [email protected]
          P_SUBJ     =>  'Data in TECHNICAL_DETAIL edited' ,
          P_BODY     =>  'Please click link below for affirmation/rejection of changes' ,
          P_BODY_HTML=>   '<p><a href="http://localhost:8080/apex/f?p=109:25:12079147455079">link</a></p>'
    It is going t apex_mail_queue successfully. Then I used the following code:
    which one i should use:
    1.
         wwv_flow_mail.push_queue(
            P_SMTP_HOSTNAME => xxx
            P_SMTP_PORTNO => 'yyy
    or
    2.
         APEX_MAIL.PUSH_QUEUE(
            P_SMTP_HOSTNAME => xxx
            P_SMTP_PORTNO => yyy
    Also what else I need to send mail and what should i  ask DBA to provide me so that mail can be sent successfully.
    Please give some idea.
    Thanks,
    Chandra Bhanu

    Hi,
    You should use APEX_MAIL.PUSH_QUEUE witch is documented
    APEX_MAIL
    Parameters
    Description
    p_smtp_hostname
    SMTP gateway host name
    p_smtp_portno
    SMTP gateway port number
    Note that these parameter values are provided for backward compatibility, but their respective values are ignored. The SMTP gateway hostname and SMTP gateway port number are exclusively derived from values entered on the Manage Environment Settings when sending email.

  • Cannot print PDF using Apex Listener

    Hey folks,
    We're having some issues trying to print reports as PDF's using the latest version of Apex Listener. For some reason, every PDF that is created that we try to open gives an error, saying that it's either not a PDF file or that it's corrupted somehow. We're using Apex 4.2 and for the time being, just the default table layout that Apex provides when printing. I believe our instance of Apex Listener is at the very least connected properly because we can print Excel or RTF without any issues. We've double and triple checked all of our options so I'm very confused as to what is happening. If anyone has any input, I'd be very grateful.

    Have had same problem with error message "Unable to convert postscript file". No response from Adobe. Even tried their technical support which said they offered no support for free products.  Have found a couple go arounds but no fixes.

  • Using ApEx with Oracle UCM

    Has anyone tried to use Apex to store documents into Oracle's Universal Content Manager? We are needing to take documents created from the database and store them in UCM, but I am having a difficult time making that happen. UCM has web services to do check-ins, but I can't get Apex to work with them. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help,
    Michelle

    You will have to put the binary content of the document in base64 inside the primaryFile element as the type fileContent. This isn't specified in the documentation and I'm not sure APEX will be able to handle such an operation. You would have to author your own logic to read in the contents of the file and put it into the SOAP call you submit. You can use SOAP UI with attachments to build a succesful posting of a document with its Base64 contents to UCM.

  • Using apex item for list of number for 'IN' clause

    Greetings,
    I have a computation that looks like this:
    select count(mr.mr_id)
    from ds_moriver mr
    where mr.approved = 0 OR mr.approved IS NULL
    and mr.mr_id NOT IN (:P62_MRID)
    I am looking to enter numbers in the NOT IN clause like '123,234,...'
    I have a text field item (P62_MRID) where the user can enter IDs for the NOT IN clause.  So for example, 13578,182.  If the user enters one number it works fine.  If the user enters 2 numbers with a comma (13578,182) then I get this error when the computation is run:
    ORA-01722: invalid number
    So substituting 13578,182 for P62_MRID the SQL statement should compute as:
    select count(mr.mr_id)
    from ds_moriver mr
    where mr.approved = 0 OR mr.approved IS NULL
    and mr.mr_id NOT IN (13578,182)
    Why am I getting the error, 'ORA-01722: invalid number'?
    Thanks in advance!
    John

    Glad to help. Don't know how long you've been using APEX, but thought I'd caution you against "going wild" with the item substitution syntax. In general, if you can do it with bind variable syntax, that's better. The use of item substitution syntax can contribute to SQL injection attacks. But, if you have suitable control over the contents of the items being substituted, the risk is mitigated. Just don't create an APEX process like this:
    begin
       &P10_TEXT_DIRECTLY_FROM_USER.
    end;
    That'll get you into trouble.
