MS docs having problems indexing

Hi there,
I try to check out a MS Office file and this is what I get:
Account: prj/PRJ000001
Checked Out By:
Status: GenWWW
Formats: application/vnd.ms-excel
Now it doesn't index, i try reindexing nothing... i search for GenWWW and some people blamed IBR but i disabled it and nothing. Someone else talked about partitions and no, that's no my case. I'm puzzle about this one, pfd, txt, files work correctly.
As a result I can't see the "Web Location" link either, nor can't find the file on search (well this is implied by the this-does-not-index). Any ideas?

OK we seem to have 1 refinery server, but all it says is:
Type Time Description [ Details ]
Info 2009/58/16 11:58 PM Agent is initialized.
Info 2009/58/16 11:58 PM Agent queue is being monitored.
(yes I don't know what is going on with the date)
I just noticed we don't have the IBR provider setup to it >_<, it must have been removed somehow, I'm going to add it and see what happens.
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it
EDITED: I added the IBR provider and it worked, i'll mark you both helpful for pointing me in the right direction, thank you.

    I am having problems interacting with Microsoft Office programs since the last update:cannot create a pdf through the 'print' menu in exel and both Word and Exel docs sent in Mac Mail end up being received as .dat files.
    Both these situations have cropped up on my MacBook Pro since the last update.
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers
    Bob

    The 'Winmail.dat' problem has been extensively covered in these forums, I would search for that (a Google search works well) and unfortunately I have not seen the pdf print problem before, but assuming the software is current and functions normally (other than the pdf print problem) I have no suggestion other than the obvious (but time consuming) re-installation of Office.
    I wish I had more

  • I am having problems opening some PDF docs on my Mac Book Pro?

    I am having problems opening PDF documents, I have already checked and I do not have my pop up blocker on, Is there an app that I need to get? I just bought my MacBook Pro and love it but need to get it set up and this is on of the things I am having a problem with. Any advice?
    Thanks Kimberly

    Is this a problem opening pdf documents in a Safari browser window? If so, you'll need to download Adobe Reader. It will install the "Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in". For opening pdf files off-line, I also recommend Reader - Preview will choke on forms sometimes.

  • Having problems with pacman -R

    I am having problems removing packages sometimes. I use "pacman -R <package-name>" and I had certain ones break the system. The recent one it broken down to a ramfs shell. I used "pacman -R nvidia". I couldn't startx and thought I had to reboot.  I have no idea what to do at the ramfs shell. I can't even list directories in it. My question in relation to pacman -R is, is there a safer way to remove packages than pacman -R? Also, are there certain packages I shouldn't be uninstalling? In other words, IMHO, I believe that there are probably packages that can be broken if you are not careful in ArchLinux. The problem is, I don't know which ones! I never have had problems when using other package managers, such as apt-get, so I wonder if this is a package manager specific issue. Any thoughts or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

    ok, alas! I tried every command up to "pacman -S kernel26" (reinstalling the kernel. Here is the response on screen:
    warning: kernel26 local (2.6.23.12-3) is newer than core (2.65.22.9-1)
    warning: kernel26-2.6.23.12-3 is up to date -- reinstalling
    resolving dependencies...
    looking for inter-conflicts...
    error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :nvidia: requires kernel26>=2.6.23.8-2
    This other part may help you a little, too. I tried typing "arch root=/dev/sdd3" , because that is where the root partition is. The boot is on /dev/sdd1.
    Here is the response:
    arch root=/dev/sdd3
    ... (whole bunch of data here, apparently working so far)
    FATAL: could not load /lib/modules/2.6.22-ARCH/modules.dep
    But, believe it or not it did boot in the system this way, but with those error messages.
    This may help even further. I hope this isn't too big. This is my /var/log/pacman.log  :

  • Performance Problems - Index and Statistics

    Dear Gurus,
    I am having problems lossing indexes and statistics on cubes ,it seems my indexes are too old which in fact are not too old just created a month back and we check indexes daily and it returns us RED on the manage TAB.
    please help

    Dear Mr Syed ,
    Solution steps I mentioned in my previous reply itself explains so called RE-ORG of tables;however to clarify more on that issue.
    Occasionally,ORACLE <b>Cost-Based Optimizer</b> may calculate the estimated costs for a Full Table Scan lower than those for an Index Scan, although the actual runtime of an access via an index would be considerably lower than the runtime of the Full Table Scan,Some Imperative points to be considered in order to perk up the performance and improve on quandary areas such as extensive running times for Change runs & Aggregate activate & fill ups.
    Performance problems based on a wrong optimizer decision would show that there is something serious missing at Database level and we need to RE_ORG  the degenerated indexes in order to perk up the overall performance and avoid daily manual (RSRV+RSNAORA)activities on almost similar indexes.
    For <b>Re-organizing</b> degenerated indexes 3 options are available-
    <b>1) DROP INDEX ..., and CREATE INDEX …</b>
    <b>2)ALTER INDEX <index name> REBUILD (ONLINE PARALLEL x NOLOGGING)</b>
    <b>3) ALTER INDEX <index name> COALESCE [as of Oracle 8i (8.1) only]</b>
    Each option has its Pros & Cons ,option <b>2</b> seems to be having lot of advantages to
    <b>Advantages- option 2</b>
    1)Fast storage in a different table space possible
    2)Creates a new index tree
    3)Gives the option to change storage parameters without deleting the index
    4)As of Oracle 8i (8.1), you can avoid a lock on the table by specifying the ONLINE option. In this case, Oracle waits until the resource has been released, and then starts the rebuild. The "resource busy" error no longer occurs.
    I would still leave the Database tech team be the best to judge and take a call on these.
    These modus operandi could be institutionalized  for all fretful cubes & its indexes as well.
    However,I leave the thoughts with you.
    Hope it Helps

  • WebElements - Having problems putting CR report in WECollapsibleSection

    Hi there -
    The user doc indicates putting a WEcontrol in a collaspible section  is possible - I am trying to put a CR report in the section and am having problems.
    Here's my code:
    WECollapsibleSection (ElementName, {@WE_OppListRiskReport}, OpenText, CloseText, Font, SectionWidth, SectionHeight)
    where {@WE_OppListRiskReport} is
    stringvar targetpath :=WETargetPath ("rpt","CUID" ,{@WE_OppListRiskPullCUID},"");
    (i've also tried other permutations of the placement of WETargetPath)...
    When I run my report with the collapsible section and click on the OpenText Link, the section appears, but what appears in it is the Opendoc URL:
    /OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=rpt&sIDType=CUID&iDocID=ASHjBo78IzxEj_yzCRYc6uc
    I have used the target path to the same CR report in an iFrame and the report displays correctly so I know it can find the report correctly.
    Help!
    thanks!
    Pam
    PS.  Just into a week of using WE and loving it!!

    Hi Jamie -
    I have already encountered issues after I accidentlally copied/pasted code and left  2 physical webelements with the same name.    (hey!  why is that report loading in that frame??)   That wasn't the issue here, but your response made me go through my code with a fine tooth comb to verify that I hadn't done that.
    While I was double checking, I did some more experimenting and debugging.  This led me to an interesting discovery.
    As a reminder, I am trying to 'load' crystal reports into iframes onto a Main 'portal' report.  My main report has iframes, collaspible sections, editbox controls and a flyout section with 5 elements.  Loading a report into a frame works fine for the 'independent ' iframes that are placed directly on my main report.   The expected report also loaded on the 'top' element of the FlyoutSection control.  (When I say 'works fine', I mean that the reports loaded into their respective iFrame controls when I open the Main 'portal' report)
    The 2 controls that I was having issues with were the CollapsibleSection and the  FlyoutSections (all but the top element.) .
    In each case, I had defined iframes and targeted the iframes with Cystal reports within these controls.  When my main report loaded and I clicked on the 'Show Report' link to open the CollaspibleSection, I could see the outline of the iframe but within it,  was the never ending 'please wait ' window.  The report just never loaded.  I experienced the same thing when I put an iframe on the 2nd 'section' of a FlyoutSection control.   I knew that my code was correct because if I pulled the iframe code out of the control and put it directly on my Main 'portal' report, it worked like a charm.
    To me, it seemed as if, despite the 'please wait'  message, the iframe was NOT loading the report.   I was never prompted for parameters and the DB showed no I/O hits to indicate the report was hanging due to performance.      So just for the hell of it, I put a submit button within the content of the FlyoutSectionControl's second section (along with the existing iframe).  All the submit button did was force the report to be loaded into the same iFrame that was already there.  And, to my surprise, after pressing the button, the report loaded.
    I tried adding a submit button to the collaspible section as well and that seemed to force the report to load as well.
    Of course, this is really clugey.  My expectations are that when I click on the FlyingSectionControl's element headers, the reports wherein would load and, if I click on 'show report', the report will load as the collaspiblesection expands.  I think users will also have the same expections.  It's seems unnecessarily redundant to have a 'Show report' link open up and then the user have to click a button that says 'Do you really want to see the report' before the report will load.
    Fundamentally, these 2 controls differ from others because you need to 'click' on them to change their state.  Perhaps this 'click' is interfering with the report loading into the iframe?
    I'd love an explanation and also your input into how these controls could be 'preloaded' .
    thanks!
    -Pam
    Here's the code for my collaspible section (that finally worked)  - the only difference from the prior version is the addition of the WeSubmit(btn) function:
    stringvar item1:= WETargetPath ("rpt", "CUID", {@CUID_chart}, "weIframe=iframe5"  );
    stringvar OpenText:= "Show Chart";
    stringvar CloseText:= "HideChart";
    stringvar SectionWidth:= "3in";
    stringvar SectionHeight:= "2cm";
    stringvar insideframe :=WEIFrame ("iframe5", "item1", 400, 200, "yes") ;  <==if I leave out the target path here, the frame shows up empty at first (which is neater than seeing the 'please wait' message box))
    stringvar SectionElements:=   WESubmit("chartbtn","Button", "see chart",item1 , font)
    + WEBreak (2)+  insideframe;
    stringvar collaspiblegroup := WECollapsibleSection (ElementName, SectionElements, OpenText, CloseText, Font, SectionWidth, SectionHeight);
    collaspiblegroup + WEBuilder(collaspiblegroup,2);

    Hi,
    This won't work for analog fax. You need a normal analog telephone line to fax this way. Please check the following article:

  • Still having Problems with yamaha USB UX16 midi device can anyone help??

    I have setup drivers on my computer which have installed successfully. In logic I have setup environment so Physical input sequenser and keyboard are all connected up in Click and Ports layer.
    When I am trying to play keyboard I still have no input or outport signal in transport window I am stuck on what to do??
    please can someone help???

    I take back all I said. After reading reviews of this product, take it back to wherever you bought it and buy something else, anything else, everyone hates this thing, and is having problems with it. get a midisport instead.

    here are a couple of reviews:
    Dec 12, 2006 - It is hit or miss as far as compatability goes and you don't know until it is too late if the full instruction set is going to be sent/recieved intact. Tried it on various Macs, PCs and inconsistent in every situation. Yamaha needs to issue a full recall on this POC called the UX-16.
    Nov 6, 2004 - The first Yamaha UX 16 that I bought worked okay for a day, then started to cause a buzzing noise. The next day, it was not recognized at all by my laptop. I returned it to the retailer, hoping to find a competitive portable USB/MIDI interface at another store. After failing to find an alternative at the other store, I bought the Yamaha UX16 again, hoping that the first dud was a fluke.
    The second UX16 also worked for one day before giving out.
    Avoid the UX16.
    Apr 12, 2004 - This thing only works for a short period of time then quits being detectable to windows for random periods of time. Totally unreliable.

  • I had MacKeeper & Norton & Bitdefender on my iMac - I'm still having problems

    I I was told by an Apple technician to never install or even download MacKeeper - too late.- I've removed the software but after reading the comments here, I may have been duped into insuring more probllems into my iMac. I'm running the latest Yosemitie but Im getting odd problems - one is that I can't use Chrome Voice to make international calls - as it always has worked until recently. I was also told to remove JavaScript - which i did - but Chrome is a mess - formatting is gone. I'm also having problems with Airdrop - my iMac can't be seen by my iPhone not iPad.
    The Apple Tech told me to get a free utiility program that sounded like "keepmymacsafe.com" - but I forgot the actual name - can you recommend security and maintenance software that you trust is not secretly more malicious malware? And what should I do about Adobe Flash Player and JavaScript?

  • For users having problems with Mail functionality...

    Hello! I have been having problems with Mail functionality as well, so, I took a few steps to see if I could solve the problem on my own.
    My problems were:
    Mail would freeze when sending mail, or, when I pressed quit, it would freeze.
    If I toggled between inboxes too much it would freeze up.
    Even after trying the many techniques others offered on this board, Mail still froze up. So.. here's what I did:
    1.) Turn off the auto-retrieve mail function in the preferences/general menu. Set it to a manual check. Just check it yourself every once in awhile. It may not be as convenient, but it works, trust me.
    2.) Under the fonts and colors menu, set all three fonts to the SAME font (mines Century Schoolbook, but anything works) and turn off fixed-width font. Sometimes mail has a tough time decoding and working with texts, and causes it to freeze.
    3.) Clean our your main inbox! Place the emails that you want to keep, but don't need to be in your inbox in a new folder on your inbox bar (mines aptly named 'Saved Messages.' That way, when you open up Mail to your default account, it doesn't have 1,000+ messages to index. Also, try to keep the inboxes from having more than 100-200 messages per. It seems to frown on any more than that.
    After trying these three easy, steps, restart mail and see if things run smoother. I have had no problems since these changes, and mail runs a ton better. Plus you don't have to worry about deleting your library/mail folder anymore. Let me know if things work out so I can see if my theory is a universally proven thing. Thanks and good luck!
    iMac G5 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Good question. I have worked very little with IMAP other than as a testing device, so, on a daily routine I cannot say how it would function. However, I can only expect that by having the option to download all emails for offline viewing selected, you are right in it being a lag creator. Another suggestion would be, if you are running a single-computer setup, to have the account delete emails from the server after recieving them on your computer. Thus, you reduce the risk of repeat downloads or unnecessary build-up on the server end. DO NOT select this option if you run multiple computer set ups on one AppleMail account system or you will cause some discrepancies and/or data loss from system to system. Or, if you have emails redirected from a seperate server to Mail (i.e. I redirect mail from my university email account into Mail so that I don't have to go to the web-mail site to check it--> just like Gmail or Yahoo etc etc) you won't be able to check them from the web-based email system if you have the system delete them. Ok that sounded confusing. Solution: have the system remove emails from the server after a week (or any period of time, just not immediately) so that, in the off-chance you need to use the online system, you will have access, and will give you a chance to check the emails on other systems without a threat of data corruption (by corruption i mean that frustrating feeling you get when you can't find that super important email that was in your inbox just 10 seconds ago on your desktop etc.)
    I will see if I can learn anything more about IMAP Ernie. Its definitley the biggest problem source for Mail, POP and .Mac being simple and functional as long as you don't play with the settings too much. As far as the issue of Offline viewing goes, try turning it off and seeing how Mail functions.
    BEFORE you turn it off, however, I recommend saving all of your emails in your inbox as a text file or something so, in case the server burps and has a brain flatuence, you don't lose anything. Been there, done that, thrown the books against the wall in a frustrated rage.
    My only reserve about the Offline Viewing is whether or not Mail will, when you click "recieve mail," have to re-download the emails from the server each time. If so, then it may end up taking longer and lagging more. The issue here is obviously minimizing the amount of activity between Mail and the email server without jeapordizing information on the server or multiple Mail programs on the same account. When we can find that balance, I think Mail's potential will be realized. Keep the questions coming.

  • Having Problems with my mail Program

    I am having Problems with my email account. I am still on OS snow Leopard and just recently ordered the Newer Mac mini with Lion.
    I use to have the Mobile Me account, since I haven't switched over to iCloud yet, I still have the Mobile Me account set up in my email account and still have the Mobile Me idisk on my desktop.I also have my other local isp email account in my mail program. Just now I am getting a email problem from my other email account, I am getting my email but I get a pop up window that request my password from my other email account and at the top of the side bar where the mail icons are on the left side there is a "A" with a Circle around it next to my mail icon or sometimes a " ~ " (Tilda)  next to the mail icon. I tried to contact my ISP to ask them if they were having propblems at their end but they didn't get back to me, they usually do get back to me.
    Since I have the Mobile Me email account un active, am wondering if the mobile me account is effecting my other active email? am also wondering if the computer still thinks that the Mobile me email account is still active and is trying to get mail through my other active email account?
    Does someone have any soloutions for me? or can someone Please help me? cause this is very fustrating cause that Password wondow keeps popping up and I can not turn it off from popping up unless I completly quit the mail program but if I restart it or reopen it up, it starts all over again.
    Please someone Help me if you know what is going on here?
    Thank You,
    Mrs. Trisha Foster

    you might try to look for the VACUUM command (do a google search on: mail.app vacuum).
    The ~/Library/Mail/Envelope Index file is a SQLite database. it does slow down as things are added and deleted. You can also find people who suggest deleting (or moving this file to the desktop or somewhere else) after quitting MAIL and then restarting MAIL... it will tell you it needs to import all your mail... it SHOULD find all the mail and rebuild the "Envelope Index" file. You can try it.
