Solved!
Go to Solution.

smercurio_fc , Attaching the ver 8.0 files.
Gireesh, If you want that to run then you must have 8.2 runtime engine.
As smercurio_fc said we use System Exec VI to run exe or any other kind of programs & we don't need any DLL. Shared variable is the person who can communicate between two different exe.
You can have look at the sample code if you have LV 8.0.

  • Call dll from my dll

    I Have a dll file for my attendance machine
    and every thing are ok when I call dll from my exe application
    I want to create my own dll which my dll connect to attendance dll and get data from it and then insert data to tables
    a second question
    is there a method for calling my dll through windows batch file or I must create an exe application calling from it

    Let me explain a bit what a VFP DLL is for:
    You can only build one type of DLL, an OLE COM Server DLL. It'll mainly contain OLEPUBLIC class definitions, which are then usable in other programming languages. In any programming language capable to make use of OLE COM Server classes.
    If your project is named mydll.pjx and a prg or vcx contains a class myclass, the final DLL will have the OLE class "mydll.myclass" in it.
    This is overhead, if you use this in VFP. If you want to modularize your application, then create several EXE or build as APP. You can DO some.prg IN some.APP or you can create an object o = NEWOBJECT("myclass","myclasslib.vcx","myapp.app")
    to refer to a class inside a vcx compiled and build together with other project files into an app file.
    But any separation you do complicates the code use. A DLL is only needed, if some other programming language needs to use your VFP code. And that other programming language has to be able to instanciate classes.
    You don't need this, even if other programming languages would be involved. You can compile an EXE and that can be run. If needed with parameters. That's typically much simpler and could even be used by DOS batch files either using the DOS start command
    or directly your.EXE as man DOS commands also are merely EXE files.

    What version of 5.0 are you running? There were some problems new in 5.0 seen mainly with the Java Plug-In and other apps which embed the JVM which were fixed in 5.0u6.

  • Calling startrfc.exe from within a vbs script

    Hello, can someone help me please
    I am trying to process xml idocs into SAP on a Windows 2008 server. I have written a vbs script to process the file and am trying to call STARTRFC.EXE from within the vbs script. However I keep getting an error that it cannot open the file. The code is shown below. I have changed the server name and gateway and user/passwd for security. I'm passing the filename as a variable (str_expfile) but it does not seem to be able to extract the actual file name from the variable. I know from past experience that you can pass it variables if its running on a unix box and in a shell. But for some reason it not decipering the variable name in the vbs script
    Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
    str_startrfc = "D:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\startrfc.exe -d SID -3 -h hostname -s 00 -g hostname -x sapgw00 -u user -p passwd -c 100 -l EN -t -F EDI_DATA_INCOMING -E PORT=MYPORT -E PATHNAME=str_expfile"
    objShell.Run str_startrfc, ,True
    The error I'm getting is shown below:

    Hi Markus
    Unfortunately I can't do that because I need it to process hundreds of files one after another and I would have to hard code the file path each time. That's why I need it automated.
    Can startrfc.exe not take a variable for the pathname in a vb script? It works fine in a unix shell. We are migrating from unix to windows and I need to convert all my unix scripts into vb scripts.
    I notice there is a nother rfc type program available, can I use rfcexec.exe instead of startrfc.exe and would it take variables?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Steve

  • Calling an EXE from Forms 4.5

    How do i call a windows Exe from forms. Whats the exact syntax to do that? Code sample would help.
    Thanks!

    Client/server mode calling an EXE from Forms 4.5
    The following is a Foreign Function Interface that I employed to launch an outside program in its own asynchronous window. It was a great alternative to the HOST command.
    The disadvantage to the HOST command was that the launched program would have to be closed before you could return to the form. With this method the the launched program
    could be minimized etc. and you could switch back and forth between forms and it.

    Hi all,
    kindly help in giving a solution for calling C code (exe ) from Java program, i will be very thank full to u if any body can help in sending a code example
    bye

    You might need to consume the io operations on the Process...
    An excerpt from java.lang.Process:
    All its standard io (i.e. stdin, stdout, stderr) operations will be redirected to the parent process through three streams (Process.getOutputStream(), Process.getInputStream(), Process.getErrorStream()). The parent process uses these streams to feed input to and get output from the subprocess. Because some native platforms only provide limited buffer size for standard input and output streams, failure to promptly write the input stream or read the output stream of the subprocess may cause the subprocess to block, and even deadlock.

  • Opening an app or exe from a flash projector

    Hi everyone:
    How can I open a exe application from a flash projector. I am
    burning a project to a CD and I need (in AS3) to call out run an
    EXE when the user clicks a button.
    I tried using the code below, but what it does is it prompts
    the user to either run or download. If the user clicks run, the
    prompts them that EXE are dangerous...blah, blah....How can I make
    the EXE run from the CD automatically when the user clicks on the
    "search" button without any notices (like other CDs do)?
    I cant find this anywhere. I know in AS2 you can use
    fscommand, but I read on line that this is not supported anymore.
    thank you for your help.
    Rafael.

    Ok, Flash continues to infuriate me!
    I have removed the 'settings' file parameter from my
    fscommand call to see if my projector would at least launch the
    .exe file, as per the following code . . .
    fscommand("exec", "Ripstation Lite.exe");
    But nothing happened . . .
    I also tried another Windows .exe to see if it would work and
    again it failed to launch anything . . .
    fscommand("exec", "C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe");
    This .swf is wrapped by Zinc to produce a Projector .exe file
    but yet it fails to launch either .exe file! Why is this!?!?

  • Debug Assertion from javaw.exe

    I'm getting a Debug Assertion Failed from javaw.exe: (Windows 2000)
    jre1.4.2\bin\javaw.exe
    File: dbgheap.c
    Line 1044
    Expression: _CrtIsValidHeapPointer(pUserData)
    This occurs on one of my native DLL method calls. Here's the scenario:
    I've got a set of supplied DLLs from a manufacturer that are implemented using C++ and STL. I'm working on a wrapper DLL that maps to a Java class in that my Java class invokes the appropriate native methods in my wrapper DLL, which in turn works with the supplied vendor DLL's.
    As part of the initialization, I load up my wrapper DLL, and invoke its initialize() method, which in turn instantiates a C++ object:
    DShowLib::Grabber* m_pGrabber;
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_biz_femtosoft_rtfrog_data_framegrabber_ImagingSourceFWFrameGrabber_initialize
    (JNIEnv *, jobject)
         if( !DShowLib::InitLibrary( "********" ) )
              fprintf( stderr, "The library could not be initialized ");
              fprintf( stderr, "(invalid license key?).\n");
              exit( 1 );
         m_pGrabber = new DShowLib::Grabber();
         fprintf( stdout, "[DEBUG] The library has been initialized \n");
    Note that this C++ object is referenced by a global variable, m_pGrabber.
    In a subsequent function in my wrapper DLL, I invoke a method on the instantiated C++ object, and that is where the debug assertion happens:
    JNIEXPORT jobjectArray JNICALL Java_biz_femtosoft_rtfrog_data_framegrabber_ImagingSourceFWFrameGrabber_jni_1getVideoCaptureDevices
    (JNIEnv *env, jobject)
         fprintf( stdout, "[JNI FRAMEGRABBER] Entering getVideoCaptureDevices JNI function call\n");
         if (m_pGrabber != 0) {
              // Generate a list of all available video devices
              DShowLib::Grabber::tVidCapDevListPtr pVidCapDevList = m_pGrabber->getAvailableVideoCaptureDevices();
    I've omitted much of the source for brevity.
    Can anyone tell me what I might be doing that's causing this? I'm pretty rusty on my C++ coding, so there's a good chance that I am forgetting something quite fundamental.
    Regards,
    Ron Cordell

    Ok, I've discovered the -Djava.library.path command line switch. That took care of the problem.
    Now I can see where things fail, and it is on the return that the exception occurs. The code that is executing is shown below. Upon execution of the return 0 statement, I get the Debug Assertion Failure. Is it because there is some local storage hanging around?
    JNIEXPORT jobjectArray JNICALL Java_biz_femtosoft_rtfrog_data_framegrabber_ImagingSourceFWFrameGrabber_jni_1getVideoCaptureDevices
    (JNIEnv *env, jobject)
         fprintf( stdout, "[JNI FRAMEGRABBER] Entering getVideoCaptureDevices JNI function call\n");

  • Calling an external program (*.exe file) on the client

    Hi,
    I use 9iDS and I'd like to call an external program (*.exe file) on the client, but this exe file is located on the server not on the client.
    So it should be something like a mixture between host and client_host(webutil) command. Is it possible to use client_host where a virtual path is passed to?
    Regards Sören

    Are you saying you want to run on the exe on the client but its located on the server???
    In that case you would have to do a webutil file transfer to move it to the client before executing. Or, if you are calling a DLL, webutil will download it automatically from the server to the client (see the C API example on the webutil page).
