    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to make calls from the Ovi Suite when the phone is connected by USB like on Nokia PC Suite.
    This was a really useful ap and is sadly missing from the Ovi Suite, it was one of the features that made me buy another Nokia

    THIS may not (..or MAY) be what you are looking for ...!!

  • After Registry Fix, PC Suite no longer works?

    I ran a scan of my registry and repaired some things. My Nokia PC suite which had been working perfectly now will not let me connect to my Nokia 6085. I get a dialog box that asks iof the license has expired. I can't even find my little Bluetooth symbol when i look in MY Bluetooth Places. I have an HP 6710b running Windows XP Pro with service pack 3 installed.I just downlaoded and installed the most recent Nokia PC suite, too. 7.1.18. In the past, the computer used Bluetooth WidCOMM to link.
    I rely on my phone calendar to synch with Micosoft Outlook. Help! Please!
    TIA

    Solved by downloading a new Bluetooth driver from HP.

  • Using Oracle Service Registry without SOA Suite

    I am trying to use the Oracle Service Registry without having SOA Suite as all I want is to simply publish a web service for an experiment.
    I have :
    JDeveloper 10.1.3.3
    Oracle Database 10g
    Getting problem in Installing Service Registry. Do I need to run a script to make UDDI schema, or table space, or database in advance?
    Installation is not getting the directory for OAS Home. Now where is the OAS HOMe?
    .../JDeveloper/jdev/ ?
    .../Oracle10g/
    .../jdeveloper\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j ?
    Its not accepting any of them. Where does OAS resides?

    If all you have is Jdeveloper and database you do not have an OAS Oracle home, you will need to install OAS separately. It is also possible that you can just install standalone oc4j rather than a full blown OAS to install SR into, check the install guide
    If I remember correctly the database schema is created as part of the SR install.

    If my Nokia 6233 (firmware 5.6, homed to 3g network, silent vibrate-only profile) is connected to PC Suite 6.85.14.1, incoming calls divert. I believe this started happening after I updated my firmware to 5.6. Could someone confirm this problem or do I need to send my phone for repair?

  • I cannot call from PC Suite

    I have problems with PC Suite,
    I cannot call or receive calls from program PC Suite. Somebody knows if this option is compatible with the N96?
    Tks

    Make sure you've followed the instructions in this support article. Note that both iCloud and FaceTime on the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple ID; those are two separate steps. Also note that the Mac and the phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Ethernet won't work. Trying to pair the phone to the Mac as a Bluetooth device won't work either.
    If cellular calling still doesn't work, sign out of iCloud and FaceTime and sign back in. You may have to do the same on the phone.

  • Nokia PC Suite - Making calls

    Thanks in advance!
    Hy all!
    I don't really know where to post my problem, hopely this will be the proper forum.
    So. I'd like to know if it is possible to make calls with Nokia Pc Suite using an external program.
    To be more accurate: I am writing a program and would like to attach a "link" (phone number or name) with wich I can easily make a call.
    Can anybody help me?
    PS: I know it is possible to make call inside the Nokia Pc Suite interface.

  • Problem calling a web Service from BI Publisher (10.1.3.2 )

    We have published a PL/SQL Web Service (from Jdeveloper 10.1.3 ) into a SOA Suite server.
    As requirements from BI Publisher , we chose Document/Literal, SOAP 1.1.
    The Program Unit accept an input parameter (we tried NUMBER & STRING)
    The result is an XML formatted (PL/SQL functions returns a CLOB then converted as a String).
    When testing the Service call from the SOA Suite console, no problems.
    We declined a page with APEX to test this Web Service too : Test is OK
    We added this web service as a data source in BI Publisher :
    After typing WSDL URL, Method, Parameter
    After testing , we do not get the XML result but an error message, coming from Apache AXIS (seems to be the DynamicInvoker) :
    not know how to convert '50740' into org.apache.axis.client.Call@cd7fdb
    Our demo is very near to this example : http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/11/01#a123
    and the one from the BI Publisher documentation

    I can't say I know the answer but I wanted to share a thought on debugging the issue. Like you I am seeing an axis error for a parameter on a web service I know works. I can call it using BPEL, SoapUI, etc... I suspect that perhaps BI pub is having trouble interpreting the WSDL for the web service. Specifically, I suspect that since I have imported schemas in the WSDL and nested imports in the supporting XSD files, the process is getting confused. The request message is fairly simple with three optional parameters but the WSDL does use an import via the WSDL. I wanted to share this since this problem often comes up with various tooling and I am lacking time to work out a test case to prove this theory out any time soon. I will try to post once I find some time to test this theory but it may be a while. Reading the results of someone else's test would be just as good!

  • Creative suite 5 and windows 7 64bit + a rant

    Our company has several licenses of Creative Suite 5 Premium Pro  that we use on Windows 7, 64 bit, 12GB ram, xeon quad core 2.93GHz processor, with 2GB nvidia quadro video cards.
    Premiere Pro crashes anytime you try to edit a film.
    Big file or small, it doesnt matter, it just stops working and crashes to the desktop.  I am a support desk tech for my company and not familar with how premiere works, just when the operator loads the movie, and tries to edit it, it crashes.
    Also, Premiere Pro doesnt open on the first or the second attempt to open, but on the third it finally opens.  Clicking on it from the start, then all programs, then adobe creative suite, then finally premiere pro. It just ignores the first two attempts to open it.
    Thats the gyst of the tech problem.
    begin rant-
    The first time i called Adobe for Creative Suite support, they told us our licenses were registered to a non-corporate account despite them being corporate volume licenses.  Had to get transferred to customer support and fight with them for 2 days to get it sorted.
    Now, about 1 month later, same thing is happening again, our corporate volume licenses are registered to some home @live.com mail address and we cannot get support without losing another 2 days arguing with customer support.
    Our previous problem was with indesign crashing indisciminately.
    Who has time to sit on the phone with Adobe "customer support" all day for multiple days trying to resolve something that shouldnt have been changed in the first place.
    Does anyone else see this type of thing happening with licenses changing possession and any tips for running premiere without crashes?
    thanks.

    Please repost in the Premiere Forum.

  • Trying to find the Pathway for OnOne Plug-in Suite 4

    I contacted support on the phone and she said to get the plug-ins to appear in Photoshop 8 I needed to select C://Program Files/Adobe/Elements Organizer/8.0/plug-in.
    This worked for other plug-ins like Silver Efex Pro and Snap Art 2. There is a Plug-ins listed under Elements Organizer/8.0 but then I get an error message later saying Photoshop.exe for that doesn't exist.
    I tried to create a folder in the Plug-in section called OnOne Plug-in Suite 4 and that didn't work.
    Do I have to go in there and do something else?

    Hi,
    Can you try the following steps?
    1. Install the Plugin suite at any location
    2. Launch Editor
    3. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Plug-Ins
    4. Check 'Additional Plug-Ins folder' and choose the location where the plugins were installed
    5. Click OK and close all open windows.
    6. Restart Editor
    Please let me know if it solves your problem.
    Thanks,
    Tarun

  • Is the RMI registry "process-atomic"?

    Hi,
    Sorry if this is a really stupid question, and I have really tried to find this out on my own.
    When I say "process" I mean Process, as opposed to Thread.
    What I mean is, if one Process calls Registry.bind( String, Remote ), can we be sure that another Process which does the same thing one nanosecond later will get an AlreadyBoundException if it calls with the same String?
    The context is that up to now I have been starting the RMI Server (only for logging at the mo, these are my first steps) explicitly in a Process. But now I want to move to "lazy" startup of the RMI registry and of the Server... so I would go LoggerInterface.log( bindingName, message ), and if the name "bindingName" is not presently in the registry it will create a new Server, and log the message using it.
    More specifically, this is about me trying to automate OpenOffice apps using Java... and it occurs to me that 2 events could indeed happen almost simultaneously, so in fact even explicitly starting up the Server in each handler module might encounter "Process concurrency" problems ... so I need to have an answer to this.
    I hope the answer is yes... otherwise I'm going to be a bit flummoxed about how to ensure one doesn't start up one Server Process from one calling Process, and another Server Process from another calling Process.
    Thanks

    I mean to use rebind() instead of the lookup()/bind() pair. It is atomic.... I understand it is atomic, but my point is that between checking whether you need to rebind (because the bound stub is invalid) and actually doing the rebind there will be an interval. If you systematically use rebind, without a prior check to make sure your Remote is actually attached to an existing Process, every call will cause a new Server Process to be created and then rebound, one after another. Which would be a mess.
    I'm going to spend a bit of time looking at your two references... thanks for them.
    I have thought of a possible solution involving a sort of lock, but I'm not sure if it works.
    1. create a "DummyInterface" extending Remote:
    public interface DummyInterface extends Remote {
    }2. in the Process + Thread which actually sets up the Registry, bind a DummyInterface
    Registry reg = null;
    try {
      reg = LocateRegistry.createRegistry( 1099 );
    } catch (RemoteException e) {
      return; // is this right? see below...
    DummyInterface dummyStub = new DummyInterface(){};
    try {
      dummyStub = (DummyInterface) UnicastRemoteObject.exportObject( dummyStub, 0);
    } catch (RemoteException e) {
      // TODO sthg
      e.printStackTrace();
    try {
      reg.bind( "DummyLockForLoggerServer", dummyStub );
    } catch (AlreadyBoundException e) {
      // every Thread in every Process (except the first such) to call "bind" will get here
      return;
    } catch (Exception e) {
      // TODO sthg
      e.printStackTrace();
    }3.     the first Process + Thread which wants to set up the LoggerServer will have first to unbind the DummyLock.
    try {
       reg.unbind( "DummyLockForLoggerServer" );
    } catch (AccessException e) {
       // TODO sthg
       e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (RemoteException e) {
       // TODO sthg
       e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (NotBoundException e) {
      // every Thread in every Process (except the first such) to call "unbind" will get here
      return;
    // only one Thread in one Process will ever succeed in getting here
    // start the LoggerServer
    String qualifiedClassName = ".... rmi.LoggerServer";
    String[] a_commandArgs = { "java", qualifiedClassName, "logName" };
    Process process = null;
    try {
      process = Utils.runSubprocess(a_commandArgs, null, ProcessSettings.getJavaRootDir());
    } catch (IOException e) {
       // TODO sthg
       e.printStackTrace();
    }... however there seem to be one or two questions about this:
    - does reg = LocateRegistry.createRegistry( 1099 ); throw a RemoteException if the Registry is already bound? I don't know and intend to do a few experiments to find this out for myself. But in any event only one Process+Thread can ever bind the dummy lock
    - there might be a race condition nonetheless to do with the interval between creating the Registry and binding the dummy lock... during this interval the Registry is established, and the dummylock is not yet set up... but I think this does no harm, as a Process trying to start the LoggerServer during this time will get the "NotBoundException" and simply return (and the calling thread will then sleep for a bit before trying again).

  • How can I block unwanted calls? (Besides Do Not Call List)

    We just moved into our new home and have Verizon's home phone service (and everything else). In less than the month we've been here we've been BOMBARDED by HUNDREDS of solicitors! Half are non-profits, half biz/telemarketers.They're all unwanted (I don't even do charities over the phone). I've never been so overwhelmed with unwanted calls before! (Must be a California thing? We just moved here from Seattle). Our number is on the National Do Not Call registry, but of course that doesn't stop the non-profits, charities and politicians from calling (they're excluded). Nor does it stop the ones who just don't care. I see that Verizon no longer provides the option of blocking unwanted numbers, and it also discontinued the Do Not Disturb feature. There used to be other options from many of the various phone providers to block all calls except those on a pre-approved list of your choosing. Why aren't these options available to us anymore???
    I'm thinking... with all this advanced technology...  there MUST be some way to block all those unwanted calls!!??!!
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hello rednorsk
    There are a couple of options, including one that is on done through your account online, or by calling customer service and requesting the block.  Customer Service can tell you how many of these blocks can be done for free, and whether you will need a specific plan to cover more.
    Here is a thread on just your issue.

  • BPEL PM, BPM, BPEL in SOA Suite - what's the diff?

    Hi
    I read many blogs, one blog says all are same, other says each is diff. I've got some idea on what each of these offers. But pls clarify.
    I'm really confused of the terminology that oracle uses for BPEL PM, BPM, BPEL in SOA Suite.
    I'm aware of BPEL that comes with the SOA Suite installation, we develop, deploy and maintain BPEL flows using JDev.
    Now, what's this BPEL Process Manager, that is listed in the products section, seperately from SOA Suite? Does it contain anything diff from the BPEL engine that is embedded in SOA Suite?
    And What's Business Process Management(BPM). As far as i know, and could think of, is that BPM is a tool for modelling business applications. It is similar to the BPEL in SOA Suite PLUS Modelling capability of the business process. It even has the same components as in SOA SUite like BPEL, Business Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adaptors.
    So, can we say, BPM = SOA Suite + Modelling capabilities of business process.
    To summarise, would you please summarise the components that each of these provide
    BPEL Process Manager -- BPEL, _(and what other componens)_
    SOA SUite -- BPEL, Bus. Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adapters
    BPM -- Modelling notations, BPEL, Bus. Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adapters
    If BPEL exists in all the three, Is the engine that runs it also the same one in all three..?

    Hi
    1. Yes, your understanding is absolutely correct: BPM = SOA Suite + Modelling capabilities of business process. I hope you know little bit of history behind this BPM product and about BEA and Oracle company. Below is some non-technical information about these companies and the products they owned.
    2. Originally I guess, Oracle had SOA Suite like 10g running on their own Oracle application server. It may have had some basic components like human tasks, mediators some basic business rules etc. During the same time around 2006 to 2008 another company by name BEA has Weblogic Application Server and had another full blown process development applications/software. BEA in turn bought from Plumtree like that. Anyhow they had full stack of products like ALBPM (Aqua Logic Business Process Management), ALUI (Aqua Logic UI Portal), ALDSP (Data Integrator), ALSB (AL Service Bus), ALES (AL Enterprise Security) etc. Then Oracle bought BEA Company and Oracle ended up owning all these products. Oracle spent good amount of money, people and technology and did an awesome job in integrating BEAs ALBPM with their own SOA software and put everything on top of Weblogic Application Server. For a while, soa and bpm existed parallely. Like we can install albpm on top of soa like that. But SOA 11g onwards SOA + BPM are completely integrated and provided as a single product. They are not separate any more. We can call that as SOA Suite or BPM Suite. But as you understand, they had all the stuff to create a full blown process application that includes core BPEL Process, tasks, mediators, adapters, email adapters everything. Customers buy this suite of produt. They can develop simple BPEL Process or complex BPM Applications. The advanced features for BPM you can find online like adding Swimlanes/Roles where we can literally drag and drop the Human Tasks in those roles and that takes care of everything.
    Oracle retained and rebranded other products like ALSB (Oracle Service Bus), ALES (something like identity management) etc .
    In conclusion, your understanding is correct. Now there is only BPM or SOA (use any word) that includes everything and that runs on Weblogic Application Server.
