Call sp from sp, is it possible in Oralce

Question

Hi,
Can I call Oracle SP02 from SP01 in the middle of it andstream and then complete my original SP01?
I can't find anything about such case in Ora docs, not sure how control flow will behalf after calling SP02, is it possible?
Are there any restrictions/sideeffects, bad manner -:) doing this.
Thanks for your opinion and appreciate any pointers to good sources.

The calling statement is just the name of the procedure (with its owner and package name, if necessary) followed by the list of it's arguments (if any) in parentheses. The is no keyword such as "CALL"; otherwise, it's like the example you posted:
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(' START SP01');Here, PUT_LINE is the name of the procedure, which is in a package called DBMS_OUTPUT. Chances are, you have a public synonym for dbms_output, so that when you say "DBMS_OUTPUT", it is interpreted as SYS.DBMS_OUPTUT, where SYS is the owner, and dBMS_OUTPUT is the package name.
This procedure takes one argument, the string literal 'START SP01' in this example.

You must say what data type each of the arguments to a procdure has. It's a good practices to explicity say if each argument is for inlut to the procedure (IN), output from the procedure (OUT) or both (IN OUT), like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SP01
(   PARAM1  IN  VARCHAR2
) AS Another example of a good practice is to only have arguments if they are actually used in the procedure.
If you reference a variable or a function, such as PARAM2, it must already exist.

After calling the procedure, control returns to the next statement in you calling code. Hoek's example shows this very nicely.
An exception to this is if the procedure raises an unhandled exception, but I don't think that's what you're asking about now.
