Calling a Dynamic URL in a BSP

Hi all,
We are calling a BW Web Report from a BSP application . Presently we have hardcoded the BW Web Report but when we move from Devlopement to Quality and subsequently to Production we would need to pass the respective URL’s.
One way of achieving the above, is to write Case statements specific to Development, Quality and Production System -IDs, Is there any other way in which we pass the  URL’s dynamically to the BSP.
Thanx in advance.

to dynamically construct BW web report url you can do the following
call the following FM
CALL FUNCTION 'TH_GET_VIRT_HOST_DATA'
   EXPORTING
     protocol             = 1 " 1 for http 2 for https
     virt_idx             = 0
  LOCAL                = 1
  IMPORTING
    hostname             = server
    port                 = port
  EXCEPTIONS
    not_found            = 1
    internal_error       = 2
    OTHERS               = 3 .
now you can use something like below.
concatenate `http://` server `:` port
`/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=<cubename>&QUERY=<queryname>` into bwurl.
Hope this is clear. If not do get back.
please note that if you are using webdispatcher then you may have to follow a different approach.

  • CRM5.2 UI-Call a dynamic URL on button click

    Hi all,
               My requirement is to call a dynamic url on the click of a button in the overview page. I have added a custom button in  the method  IF_BSP_WD_TOOLBAR_CALLBACK~GET_BUTTONS , and the related code in do_handle_event.I have created a custom method for the button event. I have enhanced a custom controller and created an attribute.In the custom method created for the button event, I have written the code for retrieving the parameters to be passed to the url.
    In the layout of the view associated with the display view , I have written the following code for calling the URL in a new window.
    <%
    DATA: lr_cuco_EMA TYPE REF TO ZL_BP_CONT_BPCONT_IMPL,
          lv_url TYPE string,
          lv_url1 type string,
          lv_count type i.
      lr_cuco_EMA ?= controller->get_custom_controller( 'ZBP_CONT/BPCONT' ).
      check lr_cuco_EMA is bound.
      if lr_cuco_EMA->gv_VALUE is not initial.
      if lr_cuco_EMA->gv_COUNT IS NOT INITIAL.
      clear lr_cuco_EMA->gv_COUNT.
      endif.
      LV_URL = lr_cuco_EMA->gv_VALUE.
      Concatenate 'http:/' LV_URL  into LV_URL1.
      Concatenate '"http:/' LV_URL '"' into LV_URL.
        lv_count = lr_cuco_EMA->gv_COUNT mod '2'.
        if lv_count Ne 0.
      lv_url = lv_url1.
    endif.
      %>
         <scrpt language="Javascript">
            window.open(<%= lv_url%>).focus();
          </script>
       <%
             lr_cuco_EMA->gv_COUNT = lr_cuco_EMA->gv_COUNT + 1.
             clear lr_cuco_EMA->gv_value.
             clear lv_count.
             clear lv_url.
             clear lv_url1.
             ENDIF.
    %>
    But here my URl is getting called alternate times.If I do not write the code  by using the variable GV_COUNT the url is getting called only the first time of the button click  and to call the URL again you need to navigate back to the search page and again back to the overview page and click on the button.
    Can anyone help me regarding this? I want the URL to be called in a new page on every button click.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Chandana

    Hi Nisha,
    The crux of your issue here is that you want to call the event triggered with onClick before calling the event triggered on onClientClick. This can be achieved by the following code in the function called on the onClientClick.
    function fn_button()
               htmlbSL(this,2,'b_row_selection:onInputProcessing()');
               window.open("new_page",target="BLANK");
    Here, fn_button is the javascript function called on button click, and b_row_selection is the event triggered on the onClick event of row selection.
    Try this out and let us know if it works for you.

  • How to call a dynamic URL on 'button press' event, in MVC-based BSP

    Hi,
    My requirement is as below:
    On selecting a row in table view, and pressing a button, I need to open a browser.
    The Browser URL depends on the row selected.
    The key field from table view, is added at the end of the URL string.
    Shortly, I can say that, I am getting a value on row selection & want to pass it to button event.
    In Views Section, there are 2 tags- (1)table view & (2)button.
    Right now, I have put the code for getting the key field, in DO_HANDLE_DATA method.
    In Button's OnClientClick method, I have called the Javascript to open the browser.
    If I now write the code to concatenate the key field value to form the dynamic URL in 'OnClick' method,
    it will be called only after the browser is opened.
    (as OnClick event is executed only after OnClientClick event is executed)
    Could anyone please tell me what event (and in which tag) can be used to solve this.
    Is there any event which is triggered, as soon as the row is selected, &  before the button press event is triggered ?
    Would really appreciate responses made to this query.
    Thanks,
    Nisha Vengal.

  • Dynamic URL Smartforms

    Hi all,
    I've to insert a DYNAMIC url in a Smartform behind a label.
    Some topics to consider:
    - The Url is created in running time.
    - The Smartform is called by a Standard Program, so, I can not change the Impressor Program.
    - I want the url behind the word "LINK"
    For example:
    CONCATENATE: 'www.' sy-mandt 'sap' sy-datum '.com' into lv_url.
    so I want insert it behind a text "LINK"
    When SAP sends the form by email the user could click on "LINK" and go to the url before created.
    Thanks a lot

    I've used this Solution for E-Rec Forms too. Its a little old, you've to adapt it for the new SAP version. I mean, using a Enh Spot for the corresponding Enh.
    Example:
    In the SmartForm, this link:
    We are currently processing your application. We appreciate
        your patience and will contact you again as soon as possible.
        HTTP://[CLIENT URL]:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/hrrcf_start_ext/application.do?sap-client=300&BspClient=300&sap-language=E&BspLanguage=E&rcfSpId=0002&rcfContext=ATT&sap-themeRoot=/sap/public/bc/ur/Design2002/themes/att_theme
    Becomes this:
    We are currently processing your application. We appreciate
        your patience and will contact you again as soon as possible.
    Click here to continue to E-Recruiting.
    Step 1:
    Copy the function group HRRCF00_CALLBACK, renaming it ZHRRCF00_CALLBACK.  Also, rename the functions within this group as well.( ZHR_RCF_SF_URL_CALLBACK, ZHR_RCF_SF_URL_PREPARE_CALLBAC, and ZHR_RCF_SF_URL_REFRESH_GT)
    Step2:
    In the function ZHR_RCF_SF_URL_CALLBACK, change this code accordingly:
      READ TABLE data WITH KEY code = 'ST' INTO ls_name.
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
    lv_name = ls_name-string.                                                                          INSERT
    READ TABLE gt_url INTO ls_urlkey WITH KEY name = lv_name.       INSERT
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.                                                                               INSERT
      DELETE gt_url INDEX sy-tabix.                                                               INSERT
    READ TABLE data WITH KEY code = 'LK' INTO ls_url.
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
      DELETE data WHERE code = 'LK'.
    lv_name = ls_name-string.                                                 COMMENT
    READ TABLE gt_url INTO ls_urlkey WITH KEY name = lv_name.  COMMENT
    CHECK sy-subrc = 0.                                                      COMMENT
    DELETE gt_url INDEX sy-tabix.                                            COMMENT
    l_str = ls_urlkey-url.
    Where INSERT is inserting the code in blue, and COMMENT is commenting out the code in blue, respectively.   This change makes sure that an alias has a URL associated with it.
    Step 3:
    Two standard classes must be modified in order to produce the alias.  These classes are: CL_HRRCF_CS_DOC_CAT_APPL as well as CL_HRRCF_CS_DOC_CAT_INVITATION.  Code must be added to the method GENERATE_DOCUMENT in both classes:
    u2026u2026.
    CONCATENATE l_prot '://' l_host ':' l_port '/' INTO l_base_url.
    ls_xsf_param-name = 'BASE-URL'.
    ls_xsf_param-value = l_base_url.
    APPEND ls_xsf_param TO me->sf_output_options-xsfpars.
    me->sf_output_options-urlcall = 'ZHR_RCF_SF_URL_CALLBACK'.         INSERT
                                                                                    CALL FUNCTION me->sf_properties-function_module
       EXPORTING
         control_parameters = me->sf_control_pars
    Step 4:
    In the SmartForms, code must be added to the u2018Initializationu2019 portion in the u2018Global Definitionsu2019 section.  Also, data types must be defined in BOTH the u2018Global Datau2019, and the u2018TYPESu2019 section as well.
    In the TYPES section, define these variables:
    TYPES ls_recruiting_team_member type rcf_s_cs_di_recruiting_team.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_url,
                    name(80) TYPE c ,
                    url  TYPE string,
                  END OF ty_url.
    TYPES: ty_urltab TYPE TABLE OF ty_url.
    TYPES: GD_URL TYPE string.
    TYPES: DISPLAY_URL TYPE string.
    In the u2018Global Definitionsu2019 section, define these variables:
    GS_URL     TYPE          TY_URL
    GT_URL     TYPE          TY_URLTAB
    GD_URL     TYPE          STRING
    DISPLAY_URL     TYPE          STRING
    Also, here you can define any other constant aliasu2019 you would like to use (e.g. G_ALIAS_TEST type STRING with Constant value 'Test Link').
    In the u2018Initializationu2019 of the SmartForm, the correlation between the link and the alias is defined:
    gs_url-url  = CANDIDATE-PERS_PAGE_URL.
    gs_url-name = 'Persönliche Seite'.
    APPEND gs_url TO gt_url.
    or
    gs_url-url  =u2019http://whatever.comu2019.
    gs_url-name = 'Testlink'.
    APPEND gs_url TO gt_url.
    In our case, we generated the URL in a string, then assigned the dynamic string to the URL:
       concatenate
          ls_protocol '://'
          ls_host ':'
          ls_port
          '/sap/bc/bsp/sap/'
          'hrrcf_start_ext/application.do'
          '?sap-client=' sy-mandt
          '&BspClient=' sy-mandt
          '&sap-language=' sy-langu
          '&BspLanguage=' sy-langu
          '&rcfSpId=0002'
          '&rcfContext=ATT'
          '&sap-themeRoot=/sap/public/bc/ur/Design2002/themes/att_theme'
          into GD_URL.
    gs_url-url  = GD_URL.
    gs_url-name = 'Testlink'.
    APPEND gs_url TO gt_url.
    The link MUST be defined within the SmartForm.
    Next, make the call to the custom function:
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZHR_RCF_SF_URL_PREPARE_CALLBAC
                  TABLES
                         pt_url = gt_url.
    Now we link the DISPLAY_URL to the name that we defined in gs_url-name.
    display_url   = gs_url-name.
    This will make the text whatever you define it in the code above, and also makes the actual URL whatever you defined it as.
    Step 5:
    In the Main Window of the SmartForm (under Pages and Windows), you must define the DISPLAY_URL as a variable to be displayed.  Using the INSERT FIELD button on the page, type in:
    &DISPLAY_URL&
    Then, highlight the variable, and then click the HYPERLINK button to make it a hyperlink.  The variable should now become highlighted in blue.
    Let me know if you need some help

  • Dynamic URL value at runtime

    Hi,
    We have created an iView of type "com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap".
    In URL template property we have set the following value:
    <System.protocol>://<System.server>:<System.port><System.uri>?parameter=value&parameter=value&...
    That's to say, it is a dynamic URL that is built at runtime.
    My question is: How can we find out the value of URL when we preview the iView, that is, the URL value at runtime?
    Helpful answers will be rewarded!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Samantha.

    Hi Samantha,
    If I am understanding the issue properly.
    the solution is:
    there is no way you can get the url for iView.
    You need to assign the iView to Role. and assign it to a user.
    When you open the iView then from title bar select Add to Favorites, this will save it in the Browser favorites and when you go to the link and see the properties you get the Short URL.
    In Portal terminology the Dynamic URL is called Short URL.
    And to find the short url navigate to
    System Administration->Navigation-> Short URLs
    Hope this helps you.

  • Dynamic URL images

    I am new to XML Publisher and am using the Java API to read from templates to output PDFs etc. How can I embed dynamic images via URLs in the templates? How do I assign the URL to the template image variable via the Java API? Thank you in advance.
    -Justin

    Hi Sean,
    it looks as if the answer can be found e.g. in the file "includes/tng/triggers/tNG_DynamicThumbnail.class.php" -- many functions in here (for instance "getFileName", which returns the relative filename) use the variables...
    $relpath : the relative path (of an image file) to the site root
    $currentfolder: sets the relative path to siteroot
    This probably explains why the dynamic thumbnails can´t be found in case your rewrite rule doesn´t match the physical "relative to site root" location of the file that´s calling the Dynamic thumbnails functions

  • SOAP Receiver : Dynamic URL configuration vs. TAuthKey capability

    Hello all,
    I plan to use dynamic URL configuration of web service URL in SOAP Receiver CC. I got an idea, which is more or less described on SDN already. But one thing bothers me a lot.
    In my scenario we talk about 10 and more WebServices' URLs to be called dynamically. The WS call will include also authorization username:passwd and it is expectable, that each WS will have different uname:passwd definition to be authorized with.
    I made a capability analysis of SOAP Receiver CC - tab Advanced - Authetication keys and there are prepared only 10 possibilities to define password for authentication key (which I'll handle to CC via TAuthKey parameter).
    In the help page http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/29/5bd93f130f9215e10000000a155106/frameset.htm there is a note regarding authentication key:
    If authentication is required for the receiver system, you can enter a password with confirmation for each key value. This means that you do not need to write passwords in the enhanced message header.
    So in other words there should be a way, how to send to CC even the password with other adapter-specific message attributes. (or maybe I miss the meaning of this comment, like the other way is to develope own module for CC and process additional attribs from enhanced message header)
    Does anyone have some experience with handling the authentication data in "enhanced message header" ?
    Thanx for you info in advance.
    Regards
    Tom

    Hi all,
    I got an idea that the solution could be to use "Enhanced receiver determination" and use a set of Services-CommChannels with special naming convention. With this (little bit complicated) scenarion I'll get a possibility to define more then one SOAP Receiver CC => I'll get more than 10 options to store the logon password.
    What do you think ?
    Points for ideas guaranteed.

  • HTTP Receiver Adapter : Dynamic URL

    Hi,
    I have a scenario where I wish to build a dynamic URL for the HTTP Receiver Adapter. The URL will contain a customer number which is present in the mapping.
    The help seems to suggest that this is possible :
    <i>If you want to use an HTTP destination or URL set by the mapping, set the URL or HTTP Destination indicator. (The indicator displayed depends on the Addressing Type you selected above). If you set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination set dynamically is called by HTTP.
    If the message header does not contain the URL or the HTTP destination, and you have set the Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing indicator, the XI message is set to status System Error. If you do not set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination defined statically in the communication channel is used.</i>
    However, it is not very clear where the URL needs to be set dynamically.
    Does anyone know how to achieve this ?
    Cheers
    Colin.

    hello to all,
    We have a unique issue with one of our customers that is limited to 100 character URL.  The current url is http://mycompany.com/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=urn%3Agoodyear%2Ecom%3AAIT%3AInventoryCheck&interface=AITInventoryCheck_Abs&service=HTTP_AIT_InvChk&QOS=BE&sap-client=010&sap-language=EN
    Is there a way to have a URL like
    http://mycompany.com/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=urn%3Agoodyear%2Ecom%3AAIT%3AInventoryCheck
    and then somewhere in the process add... &interface=AITInventoryCheck_Abs&service=HTTP_AIT_InvChk&QOS=BE&sap-client=010&sap-language=EN
    So the data comes to an F5 through the DMZ to the SAP webdispatcher then to the SAP XI system.
    Any ideas if this is possible or how you could start with a shorter URL?
    Thanks,
    Dede

  • WebDynpro ABAP : Error when calling ME23N with URL

    Hi all,
    I have some problem with my WDA. I have an ALV in web dynpro and it displays Document number for Purchase Order.
    When a user clicks on it, we call SAP WEBGUI using ITS and I create dynamically URL to display the document.
    But I can't set the PO number when I call the ME23N while i passed the PO number in parameter of my URL.
    My URL has this content : http://xxxxxxx/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/?sap-client=&~transaction=ME23N&MEPO_TOPLINE-EBELN=xxxxx
    But the Po display isn't the same. I don't found any solutions for this problem
    Anybody has an idea ?
    Thanks in advance for your feedback.

    I found the correct way to open ME23N in WebDynpro:
    *Create URL
        CONCATENATE 'http://' host ':' port

  • Calling an MVC controller from a BSP

    Hello,
    I'm trying to call an MVC controller from a BSP (Page with flow logic) using bsp:call / bsp:goto and am also passing a parameter. There are two problems:
    - parameter is not available to the do_init method of the controller class but is available to the do_request method
    - do_init is being called at every event (button click, dropdown etc.)
    I've checked that my BSP application, controller and bsp page are all set to stateful (with lifetime = session where applicable).
    Please suggest what I can do in this case?
    Thanks and regards.
    Rajendra Tewani

    for the precise solution the exceprts :
    in the DO_REQUEST method of the controller class just use
    <variablename> = request->get_form_field( '<url param name>' ).
    suppose the url is init.do?node=ABC to read the value within the controller
    data: nodevar type string .
    nodevar = request->get_form_field( 'node' ).
    with due thanks to raja for this

  • Dynamic URL creation

    Hi Experts,
    I have a scenario where I need to call a particular URL via SOAP adapter.
    Now the URL is not constant. A part of the URL should be dynamically selected based on the payload value.
    For ex:
    https://collab.test.com/<name>/<agency>/groups.asmx
    Here, based on incoming payload data i need to populate the <name> and <agency> field in the communication channel.
    Do I need to write any UDF for Dynamic Configuration. If yes can you please guide in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Souvik

    Hi Souvik,
    Yes you need to write a UDF for setting this in the Dynamic Configuration. Please take a look at the below link of how you can use ASMA properties (point 6) to do the same:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/48/327519a3af58d8e10000000a421937/content.htm
    Also take a look at this link:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/profile/2007/06/22/SOAPAdapterdynamicURLconfiguration
    Here is the Sample code for it:
    //Get the dynamic configuration from the container
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    String url = "Your desired URL";   // the desired URL
    //Create the TServerLocation key in namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP. This key will hold the dynamically created URL
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP", "TServerLocation");
    //Put the url value from the input in the configuration under the specified key
    conf.put(key, url);
    //return the data for mapping to the output
    return data;

  • Dynamic URL Submission

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement like,
    I have a button in my apex3.2 region when i click the button.
    I have to generate the dynamic URL. actually its a SMS generate URL.
    Ex: http://sms.test.com/phone=1233444/message=test
    Like that there i am passing the phone number and also message.
    I have a loop to send a multiple user at a single time.
    If i use the redirect to URL its calling the URL. i dont want to see that page but i want tp process that URL for a multiple user in a single click.
    Is it possible in APEX3.2???
    Can anyone suggest me in this???
    Thanks in Advance.
    Cheeers.

    >
    This seems more like a PL/SQL question than something that is APEX-specific. If I've understood the requirement correctly&mdash;that you want to make an HTTP request in the background without changing the user's browser location?&mdash;then look at <tt>utl_http</tt>. There are index owned by another user.
    If this URL actually represents a web service, then it would be worthwhile investigating APEX's web service capabilities.

  • Help writing dynamic URL that has spaces in it in workflow email

    I have a list called "ctcLink Q & A".   I am trying to create a dynamic URL in a Designer workflow that will link to the list item.
    I did put %20 in the spaces, but the workflow takes them out when it runs, thus creating a broken link.  I need some advise on how to create this URL.
    This is the URL I need to reproduce in my workflow variable:
    https://domainname.com/Lists/ctcLink%20Q%20%20A/AllItems.aspx
    There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you are trying to accomplish.

    You'll need to do some URL encoding to get around this.  Here's a good article to help you get started:

    I trust that answers your question...

  • Placing the ITS url in a BSP

    Hi,
       I need to call a ABAP report through a  BSP application using an ITS service created for the ABAP report.
      Can anyone tell me how do i place the report url (ITS) inside the BSP page as a redirect?
      Please help.
    BR,
    Disha.

    Hi Deepti,
    You can place the link of an ABAP report as follows..
    Step1)
    Create a Z transaction for the report and select the radiobutton Easy Web Transcation and checkbox SAP GUI for HTML.
    Step2)
    Create a service node in SICF under the path
    Default host > Sap> BC --> GUI --> SAP -->ITS -->new z node
    Step3) Select Yes in GUI Link dropdown under Service data tab for the new node and maintain GUI Configuration parameters as other standard ITS transcation in system.
    Step4)Maintain CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS as handler in the Handler List tab of the new service.
    Step5)Now Modify the ITS template and place the link of this service node where you want to display it.
    (For SRM5.0 it is template BBPGLOBAL_650_EMP of ITS service BBPSTART).

      CALL METHOD
          cl_http_ext_webapp=>create_url_for_bsp_application
          EXPORTING
            bsp_application      = '<BSP application name'
            bsp_start_page       = <start page e.g default.htm>
            bsp_start_parameters = params " any parameter you want to pass along with url
          IMPORTING
            local_url            = url.
