Calling Adobe Interactive Form from a selection screen

Hi,
I have to design an interactive adobe form online scenario,it goes like this :
A certain tcode will call a selection screen when we enter values in the selection screen it will open an adobe form,which will have a submit button,on clicking the button data gets saved in a z table.
I will be designing the form in Web Dynpro,is it possible to call such a form through a selection screen?? Can someone please provide some idea on how to implement the above scenario.

Hello,
for the online scenario you need a communication partner for the form. In WD, you have a partner to exchange the data with. But from a selection screen... who would be your partner? You can of course display a form, a PDF file, a new one (generated) or a uploaded/ stored one, you can even edit the fields, but you don´t have any partner to send the data to.
To cut this... you need a webservice if you want to exchange some data immediately (online scenario).

How to display Adobe Interactive Form from ABAP (not WDABAP)

I have created a WD ABAP application that creates an Adobe Interactive Form (ZCI) and submits it for workflow. All of the data on the form is saved in custom itables in the SAP System. The end-users are supposed to save a copy of the form at the last step in the workflow before they "Acknowledge" the task in UWL. Once the acknowledge takes place, they can no longer display the form in UWL. They want an ABAP program that will read the data from the various custom tables and display a "print" version of the form (not interactive).
I am calling FM 'FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME' to get the function module for the form. I then call FM 'FP_JOB_OPEN' with the parameter IE_OUTPUTPARAMS-REQNEW set to ABAP_TRUE. The call to the form FM has the following EXPORTING parameters:
    EXPORTING
    /1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS   =
      /1BCDWB/DOCXML         =
I understand the /1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS but have no idea what needs to be done to for the /1BCDWB/DOCXML parameter. Can anyone offer any advice or assistance?

this is really simple - the reason you have that /1BCDWB/DOCXML is because you defined your form interface to have an XML based interface.
While this is great for ABAP Web Dynpro, because the XML is generated for you, this is NOT the case with regular ABAP.
You should choose ABAP Data Dictionary-Based Interface. You will then be able to add tables, structures and fields to your interface.
For instance, here's code from a program where I call the form in regular ABAP
data: ls_worksheet TYPE Zxxx_structure.
* Fill the ls_worksheet structure here.
* Call the generated function module
CALL FUNCTION ls_function
    EXPORTING
      /1bcdwb/docparams = fp_docparams
      worksheet          = ls_worksheet
    IMPORTING
      /1bcdwb/formoutput = ls_form_output
    EXCEPTIONS
      usage_error        = 1
      system_error       = 2
      internal_error     = 3
      OTHERS             = 4.
Notice I do not have the /1BCDWB/DOCXML Exporting parameter.
Just change your interface to a Data Dictionary Based, and add the tables/structures/fields to it.
then, go to your calling program, fill them, and pass the data through the Exporting parameter.

Unable to test Adobe interactive form from webdynpro

This is the out put i get when i test run the report 'FP_TEST_IA_01'.As suggested in SAP NOTE : 999998
ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Could not retrieve a password for credential: ReaderRights(200.101).
Actually i was trying my first Adobe interactive form with webdynpro and when i tested it i got this message.

Does Adobe interactive form requires Java stack to be active??
Or is it only a configuration issue in ADS???
What all should i take care in order to successfully run an adobe interactive form???

I had gone through the link you had mentioned detailly.what i understand that is ZCI needs to be installed thats comming with Support pack SAP NetWeaver SPS 10 .
Will this also take care of ADS configuration.Where can i find a guide to ADS configuration and ZCI installation.

Offline Adobe Interactive form from SFP ( ABAP )

I searched on sdn but could not get a firm answer for following questions :
1. Is it possible to use digital signature on offline forms - for which inbound processing is done by sap mail on ABAP side?
2. What all data sources ( like webservice ) is possible if I develop from SFP ?
3. If I use webservice - how can I map webservice interface to context?

For question 1 - What I am asking here - Are there standard ABAP API's available for veryfying Adobes digital signatures ?
For question 2 - When we enter in ALD via SFP - some data connection options are disabled. Also there is no option for RESTful service/ secure wsdl connection - are they supported with ALD 8.1 ?

i was facing similar problems. It could be solved by installing the Reader Right Credentials. If you want to use a pdf with editable fields (no read-only document) you have to install the RRC. Check this url

Calling RFC from Adobe Interactive Form

After creating and calling Adobe Interactive form from ABAP web dynpro, within the form designer is it possible to call RFC or Business Object method from the form script to get the data back from SAP for specific Click events?

Yes,
this is possible, but not through pure RFC, but using webservices and webservice enabled function modules within SAP.
Technically it is quite simple. Create a functionmodule, and create a webserve from that (all SE37 or SE80 but from WAS 6.40). Generate a WSDL (with the Java tool) and import that into the form that you are designing. From there you can bind the data from the dataset (as defined in the WSDL) to screenfields or treat the data any other way Javascript can.
BTW. I only managed this so far by using anonymous logins, so with a password and username bound to the webservice (in SICF).

Adobe Interactive form

I am trying to create one simple example of Adobe interactive form from this link

while creating the application i am finding this problem. I am not able to see this tab Web dynpro instead of that there is two tab webdynproActivex and WebdynproNative So i am not able to find the step 3 in that link i.e Submit To SAP.
And when i run the application I am getting this error can any one help me in this.

Calling an Interactive Form which is embedded in another WebDynpro by link

We have got a WebDynpro-Application in whihch an Adobe Interactive Form is generated.
Now, we just want to call this Interactive Form from another WebDynpro-Application by a link.
How can I do this?

Hi Patrick,
Since the interactive form is an ui element, it is not possible to refer directly to it from within another application. Nonetheless, two options come to my mind about how your problem could be solved:
(1) Link to the other application containing the interactive from ui element and provide needed data to generate the PDF by url parameters.
(2) Generate the pdf before with the other application and put the pdf somewhere (e.g. server cache, file system, etc). Then generate a link in the first application to that resource.
The second solution has a seurity hole since the data could possibly be accessed by other users as well. Personally, I would go for the first one.

Calling BAPI from Adobe Interactive Form

Hi Guys,
I have a requirement from my client to work on interface using BAPI for creating Service notification. Idea is that users will fill an Adobe interactive form (AIF) on company INTRANET and as soon as user press a SUBMIT button on the adobe form, BAPI should be called to create a SERVICE NOTIFICATION (Tcode IW51). I have work with BAPIs and I know the BAPI name (BAPI_SERVNOT_CREATE) to create SERVICE NOTIFICATIONS, but not with this kind of interface. Please advice me how to go about it and if some one can share any documentations to accomplish this task.
Another developer is in charge of developing the AIF and I am responsible for ABAP side .

You can create a portal application and call your BAPI. Other options include - webDynpro Java, calling webservice (if the call can be unsecured). You will be able to call secure web services from adobe forms from future versions afaik.

Calling a WD method from Adobe Interactive Form JavaScript

Hi all,
I would like to save the PDF file (into KM) defined by the binary Context Attribute "PdfSource", when I run a Adobe Interactive Form inside a WD application. And this must be done automaticaly at starting.
The origin of my problem is that "PdfSource" is not filled-in until the adobe form is completely loaded and ready.
So i was thinking to use the "form:ready" event of Adobe Inteactive Forms to call a WD method ir order to save the PDF file (into KM) but i do not find the way
Can anybody tell me if this is correct and how, or should I try another way?

Calling webservice in Adobe interactive form

Hi,
I have a webservice created for a function module which in turn calls the BAPI_PR_CREATE (purchase requisition creation) BAPI. I am trying to call this webservice from an Adobe interactive form I've created. Basically the user will enter all necessary data inside the form and when he presses a button the webservice should be called and the purchase requisition should be created.
My question is what type of "Control type" should I use for the button "Regular", "Execute" or "Submit" and how should the javascript code look like?
I have tried a lot of solutions that I've found on the internet but nothing worked.
The ADS service is not yet installed, I know that this is a big issue but could this affect the functionality or could this be the cause why nothing seem to work?

Unfortunatelly I was waiting for a long time from the BASIS team to install the ADS. Yesterday they've told me it's finally done.
Consequently I started to retest the solutions I've found but with no result so far.
I've tried to make the button an "Execute" control type and added the Connection inside the Execute tab.
I've also tried with the following javascript inside the xml file (inside the click event of the button) and all of the button control types:
