Calling Amazon URL with XML response

Hello,
I would like to call a specific amazon-services via http://webservices.amazon.de/onca/xml?Service=AWSECommerceService&AWSAccessKeyId=myAC&AssociateTag=associateTag-21&ItemId=9783836212007&ResponseGroup=Large&Operation=ItemLookup but this is not a web service (I think).
Could someone tell me have to call the URL and how I can handle the response? With a web service or bapi it wouldnu2019t be a problem but I donu2019t know to handle thisu2026
I will try it out with CL_HTTP_CLIENT (hint of Thomas Jung). But did this someone before and how to handle the respone XML?
Can someone help me out with this?
Thx, Vanessa

you can consume this either using SOAP protocol of using REST approach (CL_HTTP_CLIENT)
on how to consume this using CL_HTTP_CLIENT, just do a where used list of this class in your system or search here in the forum, you will find lot of examples.
more on this how to construct the url for this can be found at
http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSECommerceService/latest/DG/index.html?rest-signature.html
once you consume this and get the xml result, you can either parse it using XSLT program or if you are not comfortable you can use FM SMUM_XML_PARSE to parse the XML
Hope this helps.

  • Need help with XML response to refresh document with context and prompts

    I've been working with the Restful api for a few weeks now and have been able to figure out most of what I need to automate testing of our reports. However, one task that I have not been able to figure out is how to refresh a document that contains both a context and two prompts for dates.
    Here is what I have tried, and what the API responds with.
    1) I queried the API for this document's parameters using the following call after logging in -
    headers = {:accept=>'application/xml', :content_type=>'application/xml', :x_sap_logontoken=>@token}
    url = "http://our.url.net:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/12345/parameters"
    RestClient.get(url, headers)
    The response from the API is:
    <parameters>
        <parameter dpId="DP0" type="context" optional="false">
            <id>0</id>
            <technicalName>cQuery 1</technicalName>
            <name>Select a context</name>
            <answer type="Text" constrained="true">
                <info cardinality="Single">
                    <lov partial="false">
                        <values>
                            <value id="CTX_1">LOAN</value>
                            <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                        </values>
                    </lov>
                    <values>
                        <value id="CTX_1">LOAN</value>
                        <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                    </values>
                    <previous>
                        <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                    </previous>
                </info>
                <values>
                    <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                </values>
            </answer>
        </parameter>
    </parameters>
    2) This tells me I need to supply a context, so I then replace my RestClient.get call with a RestClient.put call with the following payload:
    <parameters>
         <parameter>
                <id>0</id>
                <answer>
                      <values>
                            <value id=\"CTX_9\"/>
                      </values>
                </answer>
          </parameter>
    </parameters>
    3) This satisfies the context portion of the refresh. The API replies with the following response, telling me I need to answer two prompts -
    <parameters>
         <parameter dpId=\"DP0\" type=\"prompt\" optional=\"false\">
              <id>1</id>
              <technicalName>psEnter value(s) for Start Date of Application Received Date</technicalName>
              <name>Enter value(s) for Start Date of Application Received Date</name>
               <answer type=\"DateTime\" constrained=\"false\">\
                    <info cardinality=\"Single\"/>
               </answer>
         </parameter>
         <parameter dpId=\"DP0\" type=\"prompt\" optional=\"false\">
                <id>2</id>
                <technicalName>psEnter value for End Date of Application Received Date</technicalName>
                <name>Enter value for End Date of Application Received Date</name>\
                <answer type=\"DateTime\" constrained=\"false\">
                    <info cardinality=\"Single\"/>
                </answer>
          </parameter>
    </parameters>
    4) Here is where I am having problems. I have tried all kinds of permutations of the below payload/response body. All I ever get from the API is a 400 - BadResponse error.
    <parameters>
         <parameter>
              <id>0</id>
              <answer>
                   <values>
                        <value id=\"CTX_9\"/>
                   </values>
              </answer>
         </parameter>
    </parameters>
    <parameters>
         <parameter type=\"prompt\">
              <id > 1 </ id>
              <answer type=\"DateTime\">
                   <values>
                        <value>2012-06-11T09:50:54.000-04:00</value>
                   </values>
               </answer>
         </parameter>
         <parameter type=\"prompt\">
               <id > 2 </ id>
               <answer type=\"DateTime\">
                    <values>
                         <value>2014-07-11T09:50:54.967-04:00</value>
                    </values>
               </answer>
         </parameter>
    </parameters>
    I am not very good with XML and the terminology around it, and I haven't received much training around using the Restful API other than the SDK documentation. I have a feeling there is something very basic that Im missing here. What is the correct XML needed in the response body to properly refresh the document?

    If you are more confortable with JSON, Raylight supports it as well.

  • ABAP WebDynpro: Call a URL with POST-parameters?

    Hi all,
    I want to call a URL from an ABAP WD method with additional data. I know that this is simply possible via the Window Manager, passing a URL. Adding additional parameters inside the URL is of course also possible using "&" and "?" separators.
    Is it somehow possible to call such a URL out of WebDynpro with additional POST data (e.g. an XML datastream)?
    Best regards.
    Alexander

    Hi Alex.,
    As u said that u know how to call URL and pass parameters using window manager., and i am not sure about XML data stream.!!
    I can advise u to post ur thread here: [Web Dynpro ABAP Forum|Web Dynpro ABAP;
    U will get some useful inputs..

  • Calling external URL with POST data

    Hi:
    In my action bean I have to call and external URL (outside my domain), and along with this URL 'POST' data. I have tried the following code:
    try {
    FacesContext lclFC = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getFacesContext();
    lclFC.getExternalContext().getRequestMap().put("x_loc_zip","94804");
    lclFC.getExternalContext().redirect("http://www.mysite.com/personals/search/search.html");
    } catch (IOException e) {
    throw new FacesException(e);
    finally {
    lclFC.responseComplete();
    This works fine in calling the other URL, but no data is sent thru the post protocol. I have no control to the site I am calling....
    I have also tried
    ExternalContext ectx = FacesContext.getInstance().getFacesContext().getExternalContext();
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) ectx.getRequest();
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) ectx.getResponse();
    RequestDispatcher dispatcher = request.getRequestDispatcher("http://www.mysite.com/personals/search/search.html");
                   dispatcher.forward(request, response);
    But this tends to put a "/" at the front of the called URL. Can someone please recoomed the coorect way to call a URL from yr action bean and sending it data thru post protocol. I also wish that this new URL should now be displayed within the browser. This is urgent, yr quick reply is appreciated

    Myfaces sandbox form gives the ability to change its action url and port. Look here:

  • Call an URL with ABAP program (Method POST)

    Hi everyone,
      I need to call an URL for example "www.google.com?q=hello" with ABAP using POST method.
      Like the FM "Call_Browser", but my variable q=hello need to be passed with POST method.
    Any idea ?
    Thanks.

    here is one example I use from abap to call a web browser ITS solution with a project number, I guess you can adapt the it for your purpose?
          check <data>-pspid is not initial.
          concatenate gv_pfs_link
                      'zpfs2?~okcode=PROJ_SEL&zpspid=<###>&sel_action=X'
          into lv_url.
          replace '<###>' with <data>-pspid into lv_url.
          condense lv_url no-gaps.
          cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute(
            exporting document = lv_url ).

    >>. But is it possible in PI 7.0?
    Just few cents..
    Test using SOAPUI or  XMLSPY and use that same WSDL URL in the target URL of Communication channel. Just to make sure you use the right endpoint.
    or
    You can specify the method name as  soap action dynamically using udf in mapping and see how it behaves.

  • Calling stored procedure with XML XSU

    Hi Guys,
    I am using XML SQL Utility api for inserting xml data in to oracle database.Now my requirement is I have to return inserted record sequence value(i.e primary key) back and have to resend it to insert child table data as a foreign key.We can do with PL SQl. Can you guys suggest me how to call a stored procedure using xml sql utility.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas.

    If anyone has figured this one out let me know. I'm getting the same problem. Only in my case I've tried both the "OraOLEDB.Oracle" provider and the "MSDAORA" provider and I get an error either way. Also my procedure has 2 in parameters and 1 out parameter. At least now I know I'm not the only one with this issue. :)

  • Build/call Query URL with selections using JavaScript???

    I have created a web query to list specific materials and each row has a checkbox for the user to select which materials they would like to work with.  Once they push the "Submit" button I have collected the materials they selected into a Javascript array.
    I would now like to call a different query with the materials selected as a filter.  Can anyone show me how to build an URL to call the query and use the materials as a filter?  There could be 10 or 20 selected materials...

  • Does E52 support calling HTTPS URLs with the brows...

    Hi,
    does anybody happen to know if HTTPS websites (SSL encrypted web pages) can be browsed with E52?
    On some pages i found that SSL/TLS support is reported as "no" for this handy, which i do not understand, since this is a basic feature nowadays...
    Thanks and best regards
    Alexander
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes, you have the same OS and Opera mini is Java. I noticed that the default browser doesn't allways show all the content. That could be a problem filling in forms etc... Opera mini has no issues.

  • Printing different URL with javascript

    I am trying to print a URL using javascript but i do not want to print the current page. I have searched google, this forum and a javascript book and can not seem to figure it out. To exlplain in it generic terms i want to be on one page and tell it to print another. Reason being, I am looking at an overview page and want to print a report made in Oracle reports, (Yes I could load the report and print it but i want to print multiple reports from one button)(The reports do work and are valid) Here is a rundown of what I am doing.
    From a button i am calling a 'url' with the following code:
    javascript:V_PRINT('P50_CUSTOMER_ID','P50_YEAR');
    And then in the html header i have the code: (printing same page twice, just an example)
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function V_PRINT (formItem1,formItem2) {
    var formVal1 = document.getElementById(formItem1).value;
    var formVal2 = document.getElementById(formItem2).value;
    var url1;
    var url2;
    url1 = 'http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=' + formVal1 + '+' + formVal2;
    url2 = 'http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=' + formVal1 + '+' + formVal2;
    url1 = print();
    url2 = print();
    </script>
    This code just prints the current page. I know I am calling print incorrectly and thats where i need the help. Of course I might just be approaching it all wrong. Either way I hope someone with javascript knowledge can help.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    To print a page it has to be open in the browser since all it does it call the browsers print dialog.
    Here is one solution http://www.irt.org/script/508.htm and you can also try a iframe instead of a regular frame.
    If it's crossdomain request like your example here that might cause problems as well. There might be additional problems.

  • RRI?  How to call ITS URL and pass field value from Bex Query.

    I am doing RRI from query to webaddress,
    i have defined jump(report type: webaddress and reicver report as url) from shopping cart bex query(SRM ) to webaddres.
    here url is SRM ITS base link for monitoring shoppingcart(http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN).
    jump is working from portal(from bex query ivew).
    but i want to pass value(shopping cart value) to above url and want to skip first screen.
    i have maintained assignment detail by assigning field name against shopping cart infoobject with type url parameter, but its not directly call reciver url with given input field.
    i tried the diffrent combination of url and field assignment as like below:
    1: web address url:http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
    assigned field: GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID
    but when we call reciver url from portal bex ivew, only initial screen come with page url as below:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN?GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'

    I have seen the source code of that url(inital screen and after entring the value to that screen) too.
    how to call webadress(SRM ITS base shopping cart URL) with passing the one of field value of that url screen?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi,
    i have replied wrong,
    i mean that
    when i am trying this,
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'
    with field assignment: shopping cart number = GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID (for drill down on particular field, i.e. open the URL with this field value entred from sender query's field shopping cart number)
    result is coming: http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID=10000456
    and when try this:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
    with field assignment: shopping cart number = GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID
    result is coming: http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID=10000456
    but not skiping the initial screen.
    Thanks.

  • Remote URL with parameters

    I'm building a ADF Mobile application and would like to call remote URL with parameters however there is no concrete example of this in the developer guide. I would like to call www.google.com?q=queryParam where queryParam is an user input.
    Thank you...

    I think you need to first define a white list of sites and this will allow opening the page in the web view instead of a separate browser see:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/doc.111230/e24475/remoteurl.htm#BABJFEAE
