Calling an ABCS Requester from a DB Adapter

I have built a standard AIA integration scenario where we have the following processes:
Requestor DB Adapter (pulls data from source system - implemented as an ESB)
Requester ABCS (implemented as BPEL)
EBS Payables Invoice (implemented as an ESB)
Provider ABCS (implemented as BPEL)
Provider DB Adapter (inserting AP Invoices into eBiz)
I'm trying to work out the correct way of Linking the Requestor DB Adapter with the Requester ABCS.
Initially I have done the following (which works but i'm not sure its the correct approach).
The ESB process has a DB Adapter Service and a Routing Service, in this routing service I use the Service explorer to find the deployed BPEL Requester ABCS service and add this routing rule.
This draws the picture as you intend and does actually call the BPEL process at runtime.
However we have had instances where this link (between Routing Service and BPEL process) disappears.
Instead of using the service explorer to add a routing rule, should I instead add a SOAP Service (using the Component Pallet) and configure this to call the BPEL process?
I'm assuming that with my initial implementation if the BPEL process is Undeployed for what ever reason then we could have issues.
Please advise.
Regards
Stuart

Stuart,
You have implemented exactly how it should be. It is recommended to use native bindings between ESB adapter service and BPEL ABCS.
However we have had instances where this link (between Routing Service and BPEL process) disappears.Could you please provide more details? Is your flow failing in some instances?
I'm assuming that with my initial implementation if the BPEL process is Undeployed for what ever reason then we could have issues.Yes, however, IMO you would have many other issues if that happens and undeploy of a service would not happen in a production scenario without reason and planning.

    Calling a concurrent request from within the trigger.
    Does it requre apps initilization.
    Thanks,
    Lavan

    Hi,
    Whether apps initialization needed or not will depend on followings
    1. Trigger is written on which table seeded or custom. In case of seeded tables, there is no need for apps initialization (although oracle does not recommend writing trigger on seeded tables).
    2. Triggering Table Update/Insert/Delete event processing is done from apps front end or Backend. In case of front end apps initialization is not required.

  • How to call multiple stored procedure from same DB Adapter

    Hi,
    I want to invoke 3 stored procedures from my message flow in BUS . I created a DB adapter and invoked 1 successfully . Now I don't to configure 2 other DB adapters for calling other 2 stored procedures . I want some how to be able to call the other 2 from the first DB adapter only . Somehow I need the flexibility to have procedure names as the operation names in 1 wsdl and be able to configure this in JDeveloper for this at time of DB adapter configuration . I am using 11G . Is it possible ?

    You can probably create a DB adapter with operation type selected as Execute Pure SQL and write SQL code to invoke the stored procedures depending on the procedure name (which you can get as one of the parameters of DB Adapter).
    However, Even if you were able to do it, the DB Adapter schemas are generated based on stored procedure parameter list and types. If you use Execute Pure SQL type of DB Adapter the schema will be generated based on the parameters which you are using in your custom SQL code within DB Adapter. Which means that if you want to add a new stored procedure as target which has a different name and different parameters then you will need to regenerate the DB adapter and update your custom SQL code. This also means that you will need to do regression testing interfaces to all stored procedures whenever there is any change in this DBAdapter.
    Now, my question is why do you want to invoke multiple stored procedures from same DB adapter?
    This is not a good way to design integration solutions and makes your services resistance to change as it will take more time to change and test.
    If all that you want is to have a web service which can have different operations for different stored procedures then you should create three business services and create a wrapper proxy service which has one operation for each stored procedure, within the proxy transform and call the correct backend service (you can use operational branch). This way you have a modular code where each module (read interface to one stored procedure) can be independently modified and tested.

  • Script example trigger web service call and populate request from adobe

    Hello,
    I'm trying to make a adobe interactive form that needs to be populated by a web service. I have one field : In the dataconnection that is the input for the web service request and this is bound to the request. I have a button that is connected to my web service. After filling in a new value and pushing the button I want the web service request to be triggered.
    Thus anyone has a coding example or more information about using web services directly from within a Adobe Interactive form ?
    thnx, Jasper

    Hi Jasper,
    You may refer the Adobe ddevelopment center for the docs related to the execute property of the button to trigger a web service.
    <i>Alternatively, if you do not want to create a button to execute a call to a Web Service, you can do it via Script.
    Assuming your Data Connection is named ‘LeasePayment’
    For JavaScript:
    xfa.connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    For Form Calc:
    $connectionSet.LeasePayment.execute(0);
    execute(0) indicates no data merging
    execute(1) indicates all the data in the data DOM will be remerged.</i> - Adobe doc.
    hope this will help.
    Thanks andRegards,
    Anto.

  • Calling web service request from PL/SQL

    I am trying to create Apex page with stock quote ticker - like what Yahoo has on their page. I have the right web service and have put together a page which works when you submit (created by the wizard). Instead of clicking submit to refresh the page I want to use Ajax to do this but for this purpose I need to know how to call web service from PL/SQL so I can do this in my on demand process. Any ideas?

    George,
    The documented way to call a web service using PL/SQL is to use UTL_DBWS package.
    Here are a couple of links that may be useful:
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/utl_dbws10g.php
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/jsp/callout_users_guide.htm
    There is also an APEX package wwv_flow_web_services, but I couldn't find any documentation on it.

  • Airport Extreme won't accept password request from DirecTV wireless adapter

    My Airport Utility is running on PC (Windows XP). The DirecTV wireless adapter "sees" the network, and I get to the password screen but it can't get the password approved by Airport. Anyone know a fix?
    I've already updated Firmwear, rebooted everything, etc. Other wireless things working fine including new setups, so it's not the router unless I need to change some settings
    Thanks, Marty

    wyhoser, Welcome to the discussion area!
    Are you by chance using WPA or WPA2?
    WPA: You can use WPA if you upgrade your iBook G3 to OS 10.3. See KB 107795, AirPort Card: When You Can Join a WPA Network.
    WPA2: Sorry, but the iBook G3 can not join a WPA2 protected network. You will need to drop back to WPA or WEP.

  • Unable to automate deletion of old data (requests) from InfoCube using a PC

    Each week I copy open Notifications into a 'SnapShot' cube, from the Transaction Cube, using the current date to make it a unique copy/snapshot for that week.  This is then reported on showing, amongst other things, the trend of open Notifications throughout the year.
    In an effort to ensure this doesn't grow too big, I will only keep a rolling 52 weeks of data.  I thought I could use a feature available when creating Process Chains called 'Delete Overlapping Requests from InfoCube' to manage the amount of data held (52 weeks only).
    The variant used to delete the requests has been created linked to object type 'Data Transfer Process' (DTP) and the actual DTP used to load the  'SnapShot' cube ... I then click the 'delete selections' button.  On the next window I select 'Request Selection Through Routine', then click 'Change Routine'.  I entered the following code, which I borrowed from another thread:
    data: datum(16) type c,
    date type sy-datum.
    date = sy-datum.
    date = date - 365.
    break-point.
    concatenate date sy-uzeit into datum.
    loop at l_t_request_to_delete.
    delete l_t_request_to_delete where timestamp gt datum.
    endloop.
    append l_t_request_to_delete.
    p_subrc = 0.
    I get a message saying "No Requests for deletion were found'.  Any ideas?

    HI Tony,
    Please check whether the timestamp value you are popolating i filed datum with the following statement:
    concatenate date sy-uzeit into datum.
    has same data format and type as the timestamp for the request.
    If this is not same then you will not be able to find any request corresponding to timestamp.

  • CSD_RULE_MATCH_FAILED-calling service request api from oracle apps adapter

    We are doing integration between Siebel and Oracle Apps. When a service request is created on Siebel we are passing that in Oracle Apps using Oracle Apps adapter which is calling a custom API which is doing all the validations and in turn is calling a public api for service request creation. There are two types of service requests - Field Service and Depot Repair. For Field Service we are able to successfully insert the data on Oracle Apps, but for Depot Repair we are getting an error 'CSD CSD_RULE_MATCH_FAILED' from the standard API.
    We have checked the setup and found it is proper. We invoked the pl/sql API from sql developer and we are able to insert the data. So we are facing this issue only when calling the api from oracle apps adapter.
    In the invoke call we have set these properties -
    jca.apps.RespApplication
    jca.apps.Responsibility
    jca.apps.Username
    Based on our analysis till now it is looking like a security context setup issue, but we are not really sure what properties to set.
    Any help in getting this through will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shantanu

    Hi Vijay,
    We have created the apps adapter with default settings as 'apps' user and set the properties Responsibility, RespApplication, Username of <invoke>. Other than that no other settings has been changed.
    Are we missing anything?
    This adapter is able to hit the database in case of 'Field Service' but it is failing for 'Depot Repair'.

  • Calling web Service from the Custom Adapter.Is it Possible?

    Hi Experts,
                    I am having requirment in which i have to cal com.sap.aii.mapping.lookup.LookupService for calling web Service from the Custom Adapter.Is it Possible?
    Regards,
    Rajesh.D

    Hi Rajesh..
    Just looking the problem in another angle.. if there is no constraint that you have to use XI specific API to call the web service, why dont you use usual Java API used for calling a web service inside you custom adapter (I have Microsoft background.. donno exactly how it is done in Java,, but in .NET kind of a language it is possible). SInce your adapter is in Java itself and is capable of calling web service.. collect or lookup the data whatever you want and validate...
    Just a thought..

    Hi Quwang ur help needed
    My requirement ...
    1) PLSQL as web service : I succesffuly deployed PLSQL Procedure as Web service at 10 10g. The PLSQL takes string (CLOB) as input convert that into XML and store in table and return XMLTYPE as output.
    When I am accesing PLSQL WS using browser I am able to send string (basically XML format) as a input and able to receive the result back (SOAP envelop)
    2)WS Invocation : After PLSQL WS published I need to pass the SOAP XML which is generated from XYX wsdl file to the PLSQL WS published above. For this req I was using XML Spy to test this. (In actual the clinet will be Sieble that will send SOAP XML to PLSQL WS).
    Initially I was generating the SOAP XML from XYZ.wsdl and was directly sending that to PLSQL URL. I was getting error as I described initially.
    Next I tried to generate the SOAP request from the PLSQL WS wsdl file and inside the parameter I am sending the SOAP XML as string to the IN paramater of PLSQL WS. This time I am getting some different errors. The first error is same as http error: couldnot post the file /balprocess/balprocess/operation?processRequest on server 'localhost' (500)
    and second error is SOAP fault as follows
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

  • Question: How to call a BPEL process from a PL/SQL procedure

    Hi All,
    Greetings to all BPEL people. I have a question on how can we call a BPEL process from a PLSQL procedure. It might be a stupid question but i wanted to know whether this fetaure is available in BPEL as our scenario requires us to explore if this functionality is available in BPEL.
    Please let me know and also if possible please send me the links for the tutorials if it is available.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Dibya

    Yes u can do it. there are two ways.
    1) First one is using utl_http package of PL/SQL
    In this case u can create SOAP request message & send it as Http request to your deployed BPEL process.
    This package provides some methods like
    set_header,write_text,get_response,read_text etc..
    Following is part of code which may be helpful to you.
    create or replace package body test_book_order_sub_pkg
    is
    FUNCTION test_book_order_sub(p_subscription_guid IN RAW,
    p_event IN OUT WF_EVENT_T
                                            Return VARCHAR2 IS
    soap_request varchar2(30000);
    soap_respond varchar2(30000);
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    launch_url varchar2(240) ;
         begin
         DBMS_OUTPUT.Put_Line('Subscription : Order has been booked');
         soap_request:='<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
         <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header/>
    <soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/BES_BookOrder">
    <ns1:BES_BookOrderProcessRequest>
    <ns1:input>725</ns1:input>
    </ns1:BES_BookOrderProcessRequest>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>';
    http_req:= utl_http.begin_request
    ('http://172.28.5.191:8888/orabpel/default/BES_BookOrder/1.0',
    'POST',
    'HTTP/1.1'
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml') ;
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Length', length(soap_request)) ;
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'SOAPAction', 'initiate');
         utl_http.write_text(http_req, soap_request) ;
    http_resp:= utl_http.get_response(http_req) ;
    utl_http.read_text(http_resp, soap_respond) ;
    utl_http.end_response(http_resp) ;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.Put_Line(soap_respond);
    return('SUCCESS');
    end test_book_order_sub;
    end test_book_order_sub_pkg;
    2) Second way is make your BPEL process listening to some database Queue(use AQ Adapter). & then put some message in tht queue from ur Pl/SQL code . This will also initiate BPEL instance. Check out AQAdapter tutorials.

  • Calling a web service from BPM without using bridge S/A

    Hi Experts,
    I want to call a web service from a BPM and I want to call it asyncronously. That is by having my request and my response as a separate interface.
    I already did it by calling another BPM, this one with a bridge, but I don't like this solution.
    Any ideas?
    Regards
    Gonzalo

    Hi Sanjeev,
    EDIT: I was wrong, I have to reconsider your scenario.
    Leela,
    Watch this:
    http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/3536/presentacin2vm9.jpg
    The points of my scenario:
    -There's a BPM
    -Send and Receive in BPM have to be asynchronous
    -It have to comunicate with a WS wich is synchronous
    -I thought that, may be, playing with the receiver SOAP adapter modules I will achieve to send the response to another SOAP adapter, a sender one, and then have my ASYNC/SINC scenario as it's described here: File - RFC - File without a BPM - Possible from SP 19.
