Calling event called in a component but set in another?
I have two components, both called from my main application. I've added an event listener in one of the components, but when I try to dispatch the event in the other component, nothing happens. Can anyone explain why this is please?
It sounds like you have the following:
Component A - has a listener attached for some event.
Component B - dispatches the event.
Assuming this is a correct interpretation, it's pretty clear why nothing happens. You have a listen attached to A, but A never fires the event. It is B that fires the event, but you are not listening to it. Attach the listener to B and have the handler function perform whatever operation is desired on A.

Hello.
We are trying to implement a declarative component, that will be used as Flex Fields for our application, ie, the components will be created dynamically through a database configuration, and who is responsible for organizing and creating the components, is the declarative components, and its own backing bean.
The declarative component, will receive a List of custom components, and with this list it is possible to create the components dynamically. We want the components to be created as soon as the page is loaded. The developer could place this declarative component in any region of his page, and even in another tab if he wishes. The problem is, that we cannot register a load event in the declarative component, since it doesn't have a document Object, to call the declarative components backing bean method that is responsible for creating components.
How could we simulate the onLoad (of the declarative components) so that the backing bean method (responsible for creating component, and putting it in the view tree) could be called ?
I've tried with a RENDER_RESPONSE phaseListener, but the beforePhase has no objects in the tree, and the afterPhase has already rendered to the client.
Any ideas on how to achieve this ?

Back to my scenario. I'll try to be more clear to what we need!
We have to have dynamic creation of components, based on a database configuration. This will allow our customers to have custom flex fields, without the need of us developing custom pages for each customer.
One solution we are trying out, is the declarative component. Why ? Because the developer (when developing the page), knows that this specific page, is possible of customization by the client (custom flex fields). With this, the developer would choose where on his page the custom flex fields will be placed. Note that at this point (design time), no component (input, buttrons, etc) is created. The idea of the declarative component, is just so the Developer knows where he wants the custom fields placed in his page (a tab, below the form fields, in a another panel group, and so on). The declarative component, has only a container, PanelFormLayout, and no other component.
What we want, is a way of calling our managed bean (the managed bean of the declarative component, that now I did configure it in the adfc-config.xml file , thanks for the tip) method, that's responsible for creating the custom components. The declarative component, receives a list of all the custom fields that needs to be created, at design time, through an attribute. The developer is responsible for setting this list when he drags the declarative component on his page.
Now that I've put the declarative components managed bean in the adfc-config.xml file, the @PostConstruct is called correctly, but I still have a problem. At this moment (postContstruct call), my component PanelFormLayout (that is binded to the managed bean), is null. So I cannot add any component to the PanelFormLayout.
Am I way out of line here Frank ?

When i upgraded from 9.2.3 to 9.3.1 I had migration issues, where most my photos ended up in a restored event called restored photos. But then they don't come up in faces anymore. So can i upgrade to 9.3.2 and then just rebuild my photo library ? I want to upgrade to mountain lion. But concered about my photo library. So I restored my whole computer back to an earlier date, becuase I couldn't figure out how to restore just my photo library. Advice?
Best way is to restore your backup from before the problem, rebuild it and update it again

If they both have the same media, you can just copy the CurrentVersion.fcpevent file. But then you have two databases with the same UUID, and FCP X will only open one of them. If you use Carbon Copy Cloner, you can clone just that folder to the external drive, and set it up to only update files that are newer or have changed.

But what you can do is to define an event in the component controller. The view
controller can register for this event.
In the stage where you currently want to call the view controller method just fire
the event. In the event handler method in the view controller you can call the
method then.
Why do you need to call a view controller method? Can you give more details
about the scenario?

I can make calls with my MBP on FaceTime but i can't receive calls!!

I have a problem, I have a MBP with OS X Yosemite and an Iphone 6+ with IOS 8.1 .
i set them to use handoff and FaceTime to call and receive calls from my Mac.
IMessage works great, Handoff too, i can call using FaceTime, everything works good but only one problem: when i receive a call, i don't get any notification on my MBP.
Anybody can help me on this?I fixed it by setting Time Zone in automatically in both iphone and MBC
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct.

How to call partial trigger on JSFF component from separate managed bean?

Using JDev 11.1.1.2.0. Looked on the forums and google. Initial results aren't so great.
Is it possible to call a PPR on a JSFF component from a separate managed bean? It seems calling the FacesContext in this instance calls the root JSPX, which only contains one child: the RichDocument.

8330 Call Forwarding...How do I set the number of rings before calls are forwarded? Right now it instantly forwards my calls but I don't want that. I want to change it so that let's say that if after 5 rings I don't answer the call is forwarded. I've looked everywhere for an answer but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I am with Virgin Mobile if this makes a difference.

However it works for your carrier is how it works. Actually, from what I understand about call forwarding, it normally is an all-or-nothing circumstance...calls forward to the number you've asked them to be forwarded to, keeping you in a DND status. Regardless, though, if your carrier tells you how it works on their system, there's nothing that the device can do to override that. Unless there is some kind of 3rd party app that would do it, bypassing (somehow) the carrier network CF feature...but I've never heard of such a thing.

The site described the software thus: "Take advantage of R-Studio's unique ability to recover files and disks on remote computers, even if their partition structures are damaged or deleted."
The demo software searched my ipod and found all my photos and showed them as thumbnails. Of course the demo software would not save the files unless I registered it which cost US$49.95. There are several different suites of applications from this publisher, I got the cheapest option which is called "R-Studio FAT".
I didn't mind paying this amount because the photos were very precious to me and by this point I had just about resigned myself to losing them all. I had previously contacted a professional data recovery service and they had quoted me "AUD$80 per hour and probably 1 to 2 hours work".
I've been too busy organising my newly recovered photos into galleries and editing them using photoshop to be bothered to try and fix my ipod which I doubt I will want to use again for photo storage. -
