Calling view from view.

Hi,
I am Facing a problem, actually i want to call a view from within a view (both views are under the same controller "indx.do") and for that i am using <a> tag like:
In "View1.htm" i am using,
<a href="Qual_Insp.htm"><label>Qualty Inspection</label></a>
but i am unable to do the same.
Can anyone please tell me how to do this.

Hi,
If you have just enhanced an existing view then you can call the standard methods in one of the new methods which you will create as part of enhancement.
If you have created a totally new view using enhancement framework option ( Create as Enhancement ) then in this new view you won't be able to use existing methods in other view as a view controller is private in nature. So all the view attributes, context nodes and methods are Private to that view only.
Regarding text elements, I guess adding a new text element is just a table entry in text table and is therefore not recorded as enhancement.( Not very sure about this, need to double check )

Calling RFC from view/component controller

I've got a model node in the component controller's context which is mapped to a node in a view controller. Now, when binding the model's input node with an array and executing the RFC from within an event handler in the view controller, everything goes just fine.
Now, I want to put this functionality in the component controller, so I created a method there, copied the code and call it from the view controller's event handler. When the RFC is called, the input table always contains just 1 element, of which the fields are all initial.
Any thoughts on what might be going on here?

I too faced the problem what you faced.
Near to it.
Ill explain you .
YOu have your model node.
1st you will map that to component controller And from there to view controller.
After that you will bind the elements in this node to some elements in your view after that .
For example
Model class name:-Lok_model.
In the DOINIT method:-
write this code.
Lok_model k = new Lok_model(); wdContext.nodeLok_model().bind(k);
Suppose you have a button in the onaction you write this code.
wdContext.nodeLok_model().currentLok_modelElement().modelObject().get_details();
Ill expalin you about this statement Lok_model() is the node in my view which is mapped from the model and by using that i am calling the method get_details() which is in my model class Lok_model.By this data will be automatically populated into the view elements which are being binded to the model attributes.

How to call a view from another

        I have embedded a view (let us call this view 'A') in standard homepage. This works fine. Now on click of a button on this embedded view I want to launch another view that is also created by me, in the same component in which I had created view A. But I do not know how to launch this second view
     Could you please tell me how to call/launch a view from another on click of a button?

Hello Prafful,
I guess by launching you mean substituting one view by another. It can be achieved by declaring a navigational link in the runtime repository from one view to another. You have to create an event handler on the button and outbound plug in your view using the wizard. Then, on the event handler you call an outbound plug where you trigger a navigation using this navigational link and the view A will be replaced by view B.
A code which needs to be done in outbound plug:
me->view_manager->navigate(
source_rep_view = me->rep_view
outbound_plug   = 'NAVLINKNAME'
data_collection = iv_data_collection ).

Please check the method CL_WD_UTILITIES=>CONSTRUCT_WD_URL, to create a runtime url for your WD Application and call this URL.

Give some idea for the below scenario:
I ve created a simple web service and consumed it in a model. What I did was
1) for the input parameters, mapped the node from view->custom controller->model
2)for the output parameter, mapping from model->custom controller->view.
It works fine.
But I don't want to access model nodes directly, rather I want to set the input param in somewhere else (like custom controller) before calling the appropriate method, same for the response also.
Share me your thoughts.

Can we call a analysis view from a Dashboard

Is it possible to call an Analysis View(ex Table, pivot view etc) from a dashboard. I am trying to call Summary and Detail View of an Analysis in a dashboard, when I click on Summary, Summary view should be called and when I click on Detail, Detail view should be called. Can anyone let me know, if this is possible.
I am using 11g.

You can get the error message during the exception of calling RFC in view itself.
Any way you may call the RFC at some action in the view only.

Calling invalidate( ). from a second view.

I have view A and v B in a web dynpro. B is a popup. In the popup window i can add a row to a table which is shown in view A. Saving and closing view B I see the changes only after resetting view A (i do that with wd_this->invalidate( ).
My question how to call invalidate from the popup (b) so that i can see after the refreshed table in A?
I found some anwers here, but they were to abstract.
Can you maybe give me an example?

Hi Ezachiael,
Instead of using invalidate() method you can also distroy the view and recreate it.
i.e your view will be refreshed
Goto ViewProperties-->In View Properties
Change framework_controlle to when_visible
This will solve your problem.
You can also use invalidate() method in any action. i.e write action in View B.

You have to define a "controller usage" using the controller editor. Then the code generator will create an accessor "wdGet<ControllerName>Controller()" to the component controller which can be used to call its methods.

Method in custom controller not getting called from view

Hi experts,
I have a very strange problem. My web dynpro application works fine on the development portal. i am in the process of deploying to the production portal there is no issue it deploys perfectly without any problems. However i have noticed that some methods in my custom controlller which are called from the view do not run. there is no error message or anything data just doesnt get picked because the execute function which fills the context are in the custom controller methods.
For some reason the method in the custom controller does not get called even though i'm calling it for the view. I have this problem with two methods. the other methods work without any issue.
Now i overwrote what i have on production at the moment so am stuck and in need for a solution.
I have tried undeplying, restarting and re-deploying to no avail. what could be wrong?

To access the methods present in component controller from View , first u need to add the component controller as the required controller.
open the view controller --> switch to propertues tab --> add the component controller as required controller(click add controller).
Now in your action handler , write this below code to add the method:
wdThis.wdGet<COmponent Controller>().MethodSaySomething();

If your carrier provides that information via their website it can be done. I know I can log into my AT&T account and view call history there for all of the phones in my family plan.
Whoops, missed the question about the contacts. Your contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer. That can be done via iTunes or a supported cloud service such as iCloud, G-Mail, etc.
