Calls from Verizon offering money

Has anyone else received a call from Verizon offering them $199.00. I have not enter any contest, signed up for free promotions or anything. My husband and I both received this cal. Do you or anyone know what this is about?

I received one of these calls as well. I was told to log on to vzw50.com Apparently, according to the customer service rep I talked with at *611, there are a number of different websites suggested for receiving your Verizon bonus money. They are all scams, obviously, and need to be reported to Verizon. If you receive a text message of this sort, forward it to 7726; if you receive an email of this sort, forward it to [email protected]; if you receive a phone message, call *611 and report it. There is a team of VZW tech people looking into this. I suggested that all Verizon customers need to be informed so that they are not vulnerable to the negative effects of responding to one of these phishing attempts.
If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is!

got a call from Verizon to registrar my Wilson booster . so i did and got confirmation now the signal is weak

In the phone settings, you can select which ways you will receive your iMessages. Settings - iMessage - Send and Receive I think.
As for Contacts, well, you have the same AppleID so your contacts in the cloud are the same. Were your contacts just on your phone before? Maybe hers were in the cloud and yours were only on your phone?
EDIT: if yours were only on your phone before, you can turn off the iCloud account in Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

  • Automatic Calls from Verizon Wireless?

Recently, I had a situation where I would receive a call from my daughter's Verizon Wireless phone.  I could hear people talking in the background (she was on vacation), but nobody responded to my voice.  Assuming that it was an accidental redial, I hung up.  Within 5-10 seconds I received another call from her phone.  Same problem.  After receiving 43-45 calls from her phone I sent her an email.  She responded that her phone showed no outgoing calls.
Although the problem has resolved itself, I am curious as to what might have caused the issue.  Any ideas?
    Regards, Dan

  • My iphone 5 is only receiving calls from verizon and when at

I have an iphone 5 16G. Phone was working fine yesterday. Someone tried to FaceTime with me (wrong number so I declined then turned off the ringer) last night 10x --not sure if this has anything to do with the problem or not. Someone tried to call me today and sent me a text saying they got a fast busy signal. Later I got my daughter to call and phone worked just fine.Son called, phone worked. Then another friend called and got the busy signal. So I got my nephew who has at&t which is same as all other callers and he got a message saying call cannot be completed at this time. So it seems that only verizon can get through and not other networks.

Try a Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data.
If no joy, talk to your provider.

  • Why am I getting flooded with calls from a deactivated verizon wireless number?

Im not a verizon customer, but after spending several hours on the phone with their customer support to no avail, Im turning to the community for help.
The past two days Ive been flooded with calls from verizon wireless numbers in MO (mostly 636 area code). I try answering, no response. I call back, and after ringing twice I get a prerecorded message - "The verizon wireless number you're trying to call has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service", even when calling back seconds of the original call. Occasionally a voicemail is left, and its nothing but exactly 5 seconds of silence.
This is getting very frustrating, since its almost constant. Im averaging 4 calls an hour between the hours of 10am and 9pm, with a couple up until 11pm. I have no idea whats going, and its getting quite irritating, and Im burning through minutes checking and deleting all the voicemails.
Just for reference, some of the numbers are -
    >Phone numbers deleted<
And they all give the same verizon message when called.
Any ideas or suggestions are great.

Your device may have this option:
If I get an annoying call, I will add them to my contact list as Spam and block the number on my device. The call will go straight to VM and funny, a message is never left.Problem Solved.
Also I agree with Jim, if this is a new number for you, just have it changed.

  • Is verizon making money off of robo calls??

I have been getting a ton of robocalls. I asked Verizon what they are doing about it and they said nothing. I can only block 5 numbers unless I purchase a special package from them allowing me to block more. What a joke! At some point, verizon has figured out how to make money off of robocalls. I just got a call from phone number 000-000-0000!  How can they even allow that to even go through? Oh, that's right. Almost $9 billion in PROFITS last year, and a CEO who made $7.3 million last year. What do they care? If you ever think lack of competition is a good thing, think again.  (PS, I have been waiting for 40 minutes to talk with someone and ask how they can allow a number with all zeros to go through. Oh, that's right, $9 billion in profits.)

VZW does not have an idea where the 000-000-0000 is from, so how can they block it.
Do you have your number on the Do Not Call List?
Have you opted out of the three or four Settings in your Verizon account Privacy Settings?

  • Expiring plans - New confirmed bundle Offers that no one from Verizon can find

Just wanted to see how many people are out there with the same disappearing bundle offers like mine? I called to get a new plan last month and added some new equipment to my package. After 10+ days of waiting I called to find out where my equipment was and now, no one from Verizon has any idea about the new bundle I signed up for, nor do they have any idea what equipment I added.  By the way folks, the confirmation number that they give you is of no use, they claim that the number was not any good either. Maybe they should listen to the recording they made me submit to.
Then again they might have to uphold the price they quoted me!
Most of my friends have seemed to have gone through the same scenario's lately.

Same issue here, renewed my contract and was told my price, my Bill ended waaaaay much more than the rep. quoted me with taxes and STB's included.
Called twice and emailed once, they have no clue and act like there is not much they can do.
I run a business and if I tell my customer a price, THAT'S THE PRICE!
Verizon is pulling this tactic with everyone it seems, it's kind of a shame because I really like the product.

  • We used to have great service, now it sucks! Constantly dropping calls, dead areas that have never been dead. Getting fed up and getting no help from Verizon.

This is really getting old, no help from Verizon. Service was great 2 years ago now it sucks, Constantly dropping calls, dead areas where there used to be fine. What is verison doing to help this???

I have an iphone 5s, my husband has a casio, my sister in law has a Samsung, my friends have various phones we are all experiencing the same thing – dropped calls, no service and it is outside as well as inside the house or the car. At our residence and along the drive to work or to the store. I don’t text much or use my data much so I am mostly concerned with the telephone service.

  • Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

    Hi Ruth:
Thanks for reaching out to me about this issue.
This has been happening since I got the phone a couple of years ago.
I did not realize that my home land line and my wife's cell phone
always go straight to voice mail until my wife pointed it out to me
several months ago.  Is there a setting I can adjust?
Yes, I can make calls to our home land line and to her cell phone
without being diverted to voice mail.
Any advice you might have would be most welcome.
    Thanks.

  • Calls and emails from Verizon

To {edited for privacy}, head of customer service in Tampa office
This isn’t about phishing per se, but I cannot seem to find an e-mail for customer service at Verizon…only “chat”.
I received a robo-call & VM last evening ON MY CELL PHONE from {edited for privacy}from “Jane” at “Verizon”. She reminded me that I must return my equipment or face additional charges on my next billing statement.
I received my return box on 7/23/15, and mailed it back to Verizon on 7/24/15 at 1:06 p.m. I will add that the box was mailed to me from you on 7/20/15.
I keep on getting e-mails from Verizon that will not allow me to respond via “reply”, so I called, and spoke with a CSR named Frankie yesterday (7/28/15). She tells me that Verizon has 30 days to check in returned equipment. Why all of the e-mails then? You want me to “return all equipment promptly”, or face $650.00 in additional charges, but you have 30 days to check my prompt mailing in?
    Let me get back to the robo-call…{edited for privacy} is the phone number to a place called OnProcess Technology…they act as your/Verizon’s “repo-men” for equipment. I do not have to guess where they got my cell phone number from, {edited for privacy}
It may not be a serious issue to you, {edited for privacy} but it is serious to me. When a huge corporation like Verizon feels free to bully a customer to return equipment that is property of Verizon, and that customer has complied to the request, then be done with it. Your own CSR tells me YOU have 30 days to check it in, well, stop calling me on a number that I have repeatedly told you all NOT to use, and stop e-mailing me.
    I hope that I do not have to take this to the next level, {edited for privacy}
If I receive one more call on my cell, that will determine my next action.

  • Will Verizon offer the Wi-Fi calling with cell number?

Will Verizon offer the Wi-Fi calling with cell number? I get horrible reception and this would be a better solution than buying a "signal booster" for my home and office.

No, Verizon Wireless doesn't offer wifi calling at this time.

  • Verizon's caller id database is wrong  - getting no help from Verizon

Our business phone line is through Comcast.    When we call a phone number from our business line, it doesn't matter if the recipient is on AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Comcast, or any other carrier, the caller id shows as our business line.
    -- However --
If we call a Verizon cell phone (ours included), it shows an old caller id record -- the record is of the person who previously owned the phone number three years ago.
I called Verizon on December 1st.  Spent 20 minutes explaining the problem to someone who was completely unqualified to take a call nor understand my issue.  I asked to speak to a supervisor - she refused.  She then said she fixed my problem.   However, she didn't.   I got an email survey on her help.  I gave her "1's" across the board and explained how incompetent this person was.  I then got a call from a Verizon supervisor the next day that had saw my review.  She said she would fix my problem and then call me back.
THE SUPERVISOR NEVER FIXED MY PROBLEM AND NEVER CALLED ME BACK!
This is absolutely horrible customer service.  How do I get in contact with someone at Verizon that will update their caller id database records???  AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Comcast, and all other carriers show the correct caller ID (our business name).   Verizon does not.
I've only been a Verizon customer a month and it's absolutely horrible customer service.  Please help me.
    Thank you.

    pherson.... you're an idiot.
Perhaps you should read the original complaint.     If AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Qwest, and Comcast all show the correct caller ID and Verizon does not.... well, that means IT IS A VERIZON ISSUE.
I find your response very poor... you're showing the poor customer service attitude that others at Verizon have displayed.
Can I recommend that you take a course on how caller id works?   And please learn  how to treat Verizon customers with respect.

  • Does Verizon offer free calls to family/friends not on verizon like other companies?

Does Verizon offer free calls to family/friends not on verizon like other companies?  I recently added my boyfriend. We thought it would be ok if he called his family at night to keep in touch. We thought that the long standing 'Free nights & weekends' would keep us in the safe zone.  that was obviously not the case. I hate to tell that he can't talk to them as much as he does.  I'd rather not increase the plan. His family members either have landlines or with different cell phone companies.
Any recommendations?  And has Verzon done away with Free nights & weekends?
    Thanks,
    animatdjul

Yes Verizon Wireless offer calling plans that include Friends and Family. We have a single plan of 900 minutes that include 5 numbers to F&F and we have family share plans 1400 minutes and 2000 minutes that include 10 F&F numbers to add to your list. The promotion include cellphones that are not within the Verizon Wireless Network, landlines, and 800 numbers. The plans  do not include numbers added  outside of the United States..Hope this information helps!

  • Do facetime calls from a Macbook cost money? from my iPhone4 I do not pay

Do Facetime calls from a Macbook cost?

No cost for the call - it's using your internet bandwidth (similar to skype).
So it's able to make free FT calls to other FT users on any FT-enabled device as long as they have the app.  It is not able to make FT calls to other devices.
