Can a applet be SELECTED during its installing?

In the chapter 11.2 of <The Java Card 2.2 Runtime Environment (JCRE) Specification>, it depicts that
" The Installer shall ensure that during the execution of the install() method, the
new applet (not the Installer) is the currently selected applet. In addition, any
CLEAR_ON_DESELECT objects created during the install() method shall be
associated with the selection context of the new applet."
I am confused that whether a applet can be selected while it is being installed?
And the following paragraph cocludes that "The installation of an applet is deemed complete if all steps are completed without failure or an exception being thrown, up to and including successful return from
executing the Applet.register method. At that point, the installed applet will be selectable." It seems the latter depiction conflicts with the former.
Who can give me a help?
Thanks!

The JCRE has to call your static install() method in order for you to be able to call register(). That register() is what informs the JCRE to add your applet to the JCRE table. In order to call your install(), the JCRE has to make your applet the default selected applet .
If you violate something or throw an exception during the processing of the install(), the applet won't be installed, neither will it be in the JCRE table, therefore not selectable because it doesn't exist.
To try it, just throw an ISOException in your install() and see what happens. Then try calling an algorithm that's not implemented like AES and see what happens.

    Hi,
If I am correct parameter ZCSA/INSTALLED_LANGUAGES value is called default language vector.
    But our ZCSA/INSTALLED_LANGUAGES <> 4DEWX.
Is it possible to change language vector during EHP5 install?
We have a lot custom translations, but SAP attempt to translate into Lithuanian language is ugly.
We want to exclude some SAP language translations during EHP5 install.

  • I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. How can I fix it?

I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.
At this point I feel like I wasted my money paying for this supposed upgrade. I got nothing for it but frustration. It even automatically set my security settings to allow only downloads from the Mac store so the first time I went to download something I had to stop what I was doing and go correct settings first. I feel like there should be a security setting to block downloads from the Mac store so I don't accidentally end up clicking the wrong thing and being charged.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone.  You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone.  You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account.  iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac.  When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account.  You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar.  If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

How can I change (or select) what is being being used when I share, as the file cover. When I Share lets say "Master File" i want to select a frame that is used as the file cover. So when its on my desktop I see this image as the file icon.

I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways  do this is
Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible.

It claims it is downloading again?! Am I missing something here? Why is this process so complicated? I need to get this resolved asap and start working.

I originally had Adobe Photoshop Extended, then upgraded to the Production Suite. I ran the Adobe Cleaner, and that uninstalled most Adobe products, including my existing Adobe install, and then I re-installed everything with the same error code. Since CS4 came with CS5, I've installed AE CS4, but would really like to upgrade because I'm new to Creative Suite, and not sure how CS4 integrates with CS5...CS4 After Effects installed perfectly. I do have a 64 bit system, and installing to an OCZ Vertex 2....every other suite installs perfectly, except AE. And I think that is the coolest program in the Suite. I thank you all so much for taking the time to help, I really want to get AECS5 running...I did try to install after doing the recommended items Adobe suggests for Exit Codes 6 and 7, including turning off many startups...
    I'm baffled....

Thanks for the added information, the screenshot did not get posted but that is ok.
These steps should resolve the issue on your Mac:
Double-click on the link for Uninstall Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 at Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers.
Check if the Install link is now available in the Adobe Application Manager.
If not, install and run the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove any traces of Premiere Pro. It can be downloaded from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html.
The Install link should now be available in the Adobe Application Manager.

Yet another example of why it's a VERY BAD IDEA to do a clean install of Lion unless you are already VERY familiar with how to tweak the Mac OS. There's a reason Apple engineers removed it as an option. To accomplish it you have to erase your disk; not for the faint hearted.
Do you have a backup? PLEASE don't tell us you did this without a robust backup.
You erased the operating machine, so your computer went to the only place it could find one, the Recovery partition. And it's minimal, so it has to download everything in small chunks to reinstall itself. So yeah, it could take 10 hours.
Here's another option. Do you still have the original disks that came with your machine? Put one in and restart from it. You can reinstall your old system much faster. Then go to the Mac App Store and your purchase history and see if you can redownload Lion (I think that still works).
And this time just do yourself a favor and install per Apple's instructions. When the machine starts into Lion, use Setup ***'t (the first thing that fires up) to migrate from your backup.

I have just setup a new ipad and first app I downloaded was ibook.  my ipad says its installed but I can't find it.  any suggestions please?

For some reason this happens to some people.  The one thing that works is to reboot your iPad.  To reboot:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad wil restart.  Once it's back up, I'm betting you'll see iBooks.

  • Can't mount /dev/hdc during install?

    Hi,
I've inherited a Dell Precision 410 computer (PIII, perhaps 6 years old?).  It currently has
an older version of RedHat installed and I'm attempting to install Arch.  The Arch CD boots
and loads vmlinuz and goes through screenfulls of initialization info.  It gets down
to loading the add-on modules and pauses; then it comes back and says
"Can't mount /dev/hdc -- (Empty media?)" and drops me at the "#" prompt with the
message to enter "loaddisk /dev/hdc" if I need extra modules.   I attempt that and I
get the same "Can't mount hdc" message.  I can enter "/arch/setup" and get the
initial menu, but since no modules are loaded my network card is not working, etc.
How can the bootup and menus work, but yet /dev/hdc (which is the CDROM itself)
not be mountable?  If I boot the old Redhat, I see the link "/dev/cdrom --> /dev/hdc".
If I start Gnome and insert the Arch CD, it automounts (under /dev/hdc) and
I can browse the CD contents (including the add-ons folder) and see all the files.
I have used the same CD to install Arch on another non-Dell computer so I believe
    the media is OK.
Clues as to how/why /dev/hdc is causing a problem during vmlinuz startup?
    Thanks in advance,
    Roggie Boone

Problem solved ... looks like it was either a defective CDROM drive or just one
that the kernel did not recognize.  I salvaged a Lite-On drive from another
computer and Arch was able to mount it as /dev/hdc during the install.

  • CS4 Master Collection Install - Can't Select Flash to Install

I'm trying to install the Master Collection on my PC here at work, however when I get to the option to select the "Easy Install", or "Custom Install", Flash CS4 isn't selectable to "Check" to install. It doesn't change if I got to Easy, or Custom. Both have Flash "Grayed Out". I had the trial of Flash CS4 installed, but I uninstalled it, thinking that it was causing the issue, but it still doesn't give the option to install it.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Im trying to install Mavericks but It tells I can't use my HD because its being use by Time Machine. What can I do?

I'm trying to intall Mavericks on my HD but it tells me that I can not install it beause Time Machine uses the this HD. I have turn off the Time Machine and even removed all portions from the drive. What else can I do?

You shouldn't install an OS on Time Machine drive. You should upgrade from the existing internal HD that your previous OS was on.

i buy a macbook air with my friend and i changed the apple id also.at first i can update the application but now its impossible to update the application.when i clock to update it shows the id of my fren andsomebody do you have idea to solve this problem.

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
