  • Integration with business processes (workflow)?

    Hi all,
how OBIEE integrates with business process?
    kapil

    Hi,
Integration can be done both ways:
    - You can call an iBot from any business proces via webservices.
    - You can call a business process (i.e. BPEL proces) from an iBot through a custom java script.

  • Re: Business Process Tutorials

    Hi,
I am working as Support Consultant. Can any one send me the Business Process Flow or Business Process Modelling Tutorials or links and to about the tools used for business process.

    Dear Vivek,
<b>AcceleratedSAP (ASAP)</b> is SAP's standard implementation methodology. It contains the Roadmap, a step-by-step guide that incorporates experience from many years of implementing R/3. Along with that, AcceleratedSAP contains a multitude of tools, accelerators and useful information to assist all team members in implementing R/3. Quality checks are incorporated at the end of each phase to easily monitor deliverables and critical success factors. ASAP is delivered as a PC-based package, so that - if required - an implementation project can begin prior to having an R/3 System installed.
AcceleratedSAP (ASAP): A comprehensive solution for the introduction of the R/3 System in your enterprise. ASAP and most of its tools can be used independently of an R/3 installation.
The tools available for AcceleratedSAP are:
The <b>Project Estimator</b>, an internal SAP tool which enables SAP consultants to accurately gauge the required resources, the costs and the time frame of implementation. The Project Estimator takes into account the project scope and several project and risk factors.
The <b>Concept Check Tool</b>, a tool enabling you to carry out quality checks on the project preparation, technical infrastructure and R/3 configuration settings. This is done mainly during the first two implementation phases of the R/3 project. In this way you are alerted to potential data volume and configuration conflicts that could lead to performance issues if not addressed.
The <b>Implementation Assistant</b>: The ASAP navigation tool that accompanies you through the five phases of implementation down to the task level. It includes a description and a detailed "how-to" for each task in the Roadmap. Along with that, many tools, templates and documents are hyperlinked to the task. The Implementation Assistant contains the following elements:
<b>ASAP Implementation Roadmap</b> and <b>Project Plan</b>. The Roadmap contains the five phases, from which you can drill down into work packages, activities and tasks. The Project Plan contains three components, a budget plan, a resource plan and a work plan. These are explained in more detail in the next chapter.
The ASAP Roadmap is the successor of the R/3-based Procedure Model, which was used until Rel. 3.1 in R/3 implementation projects.
<b>Knowledge Corner</b>, containing tips and tricks for configuration from consultants, detailed documentation on SAP’s implementation services, information on technical tools, as well as simplification guidebooks and R/3 Customizing wizards.
<b>Question and Answer Database (Q&Adb)</b>. Using the R/3 Reference Model structure, the Q&Adb is used to assist in gathering requirements for business processes, conversions, reports, interfaces, enhancements and authorizations. The database provides useful questionnaires to help you define the process needs and also serves as a repository for all this information. Since it is a database, it allows for flexible reporting. The business requirements generated from the Q&Adb are collectively known as the Business Blueprint.
<b>Business Process Master List</b>, to manage configuration, testing and the creation of end user documentation. The Business Process Master List is linked to pre-written Business Process Procedures (BPPs), detailled end-user documentation for R/3 transactions.
<b>Issues Database</b>: supporting project management, this database supports the entering, monitoring and managing of issues that come up during the project.

  • ABC Costing - Business Process

I'm working in a matrix organization and we need allocate expenditures and revenue to a Process.
One Cost Center allocates expenditures to different Profit Center,  in SAP a cost center is relationed with only Profit Center.
Therefore, I think in Business Process object of ABC Costing.  Now I would like to know:
    1. Can I use Business Process in all relevant transaction in SAP?
    2. Can I assign revenues to a Business Process?
    3.  Can I get a Profit & Loss state by Business Process?
    Thanks in advance.
    José Luis

    Hi,
in general follow the link to CO-ABC documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/7e/cb7d1443a311d189ee0000e81ddfac/frameset.htm
    Your questions:
1: see the link above, if you use "integrated CO-ABC" yes. Business process can be used as a fully integrated cost object.
    2: yes
3: in SAP standard no, it depends on your effort to assign each P&L posting to a business process (price difference postings, inventory differences,... they do not belong to a single business process in SAP standard).
    Best regards, Christian

  • Difference between Business Process and Workflow

    Hi all,
What is the difference between Business Process and Workflow? i have googled it and I don't really understand that complicated definition? Is there any examples to illustrate the difference between the both?

    Hi,
I will try to put here , my perspective of this. If somebody knows better, they can update further on this.
Business process is purely on the perspective of the users. It may or maynot have anything to do with the system. When a draw a business flow diagram, we dont take care of how each and every process is handled in the system. The best illustration is an example of authorisation.
Let me say that I create a Purchase requisition. Once it is released a PO will be created by procurement managerD
This is a business process. However if we look at the system perspective, it can be like this.
    1. Create a PR.
    2. Check the value of the PR
    3. If value <$100,an email needs to be send to person A, if it is $100 to 300$, an email should be send to person B and if >$300, an email should be send to B and C.
4.Once it is released, an email shoudl be send to D for creating a PO on this PR.
Here not only the process, but also how the work is delegated across  various entities of the process is mentioned.
There are softwards like VISIO which actually take care of the business process in the perspective of the entities involved in the process. A workflow is a moredetailed version of business process with the roles of entities clearly defined and hence configured well in the system.
The concept is workflow is mostly used in the processes of authorisations, business activity monitoring(BAM), etc.
Hope I make it little clear to you.
You can reward if my response is of some help to you

  • Business process of AP &AP\R

    Hi All,
Can anybody explain me the Generall business process of Ap &AR
    1)what is Business process?
2)please explain me General business process of Accounts Payable and Accounts Recivable?
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Chandu.

    Business Process of Accounts Payable:
Accounts payables are the liabilities towards business to pay, which arise when the goods and services are purchased for business.
    Accounts Payable Process:
Creation of Purchase Requisition(PR)(ME51N) for services or goods-> Approval->Release of PR(ME54N)--->Then Creation of Purchase Order (ME21N) with reference to that PR, ->Release of Purchase Order (PO)(ME29N)->Monitoring & maintenance of that PO---> Goods Received against PO (MIGO) -> Entering of incoming Invoice against that PO(MIRO)->Invoice verification(MIRA) &  processing of payment against that invoice F-53.
Process for Accounts Receivable is same, because if you are purchasing goods & services then for second party it is sales order.
So I hope you get an idea about AP & AR. Transaction code are different for AR. AP is covered in MM, AR are covered in SD.

  • Solution Manager to test business process

    Hi all,
Has anbody used solution manager for testing business processes in SRM??if so how??We ahev Solution manager configured for SRM but I dont know how to test the SRM business processess through SM???
    Please advise.

    Hi Rejin,
You have to first create a Test Configuration for your test script. This you can do by going into your test script from TCODE "SECATT" and follow the menu path Utilities/Test Configuration/Create, this will create a Test Configuration with the same name as your script. Now you can goto to the Solution Manager business process and enter you Test Configuration in the Test Case Tab.
