Can Flash Pro CC publish to flash player 9??

Hi
It is possible to publish to flash player 9 in Flash CC. Most of the flash ads still require flash player 9 as the highest version to publish for.
thanks
Andrew

Sorry to harp on the same problem. Just upgraded to CC and finding this problem also. I've read thru everything and I am having the error too. It seems like I need to put the file into this path
/Applications/Adobe Flash CC/Adobe Flash CC.app/Contents/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/FP9/playerglobal.swc
But the problem is, I don't have this path!! Even when I view all of my hidden folders. I get to Adobe Flash CC.app and its not there.
The error I'm getting in Flash is
Warning: 5004: The file '/Applications/Adobe Flash CC/Adobe Flash CC.app/Contents/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/FP9/playerglobal.swc', which is required for typechecking ActionScript 3.0, could not be found. You may need to reinstall Flash.
Do I really need to reinstall??

  • Flash CC 2014 publisher for Flash player 8 or below?

I have Pro CC 2014 and need to publish for flash 8 or below.... when I tried to get the older player files, my newer computer can not even open them.  Suggestions? Work arounds?  The only think I can think of at this point is I THINK I have CS6 still installed on my older macbook pro....
    TIA!!!!

Your best bet will be to fall back to using CS6 when you run into something that CC was not made to handle.

    hello,
I am unable to download flash cc in my computer, and I don't know why,
I can only donload flash cs6
    does anyone know why?

If your system does not meet the requirements for the application then the application will not be offered for installation in the CC manager.  Check your system against the requirements to see if it meets the specs or not...

  • Flash Pro CS5.5 and Flash 11/Air 3

Hey guys. First time posting here.
I recently read up on some news about Flash player 11 / Air 3 update coming soon and that Adobe is bringing full hardware-accelerated 3D graphics to both Flash and Air. Which sounds awesome . Buuut.. Here's the thing. Will these features be updated into CS5.5? as well as be available for CS6 (I'm just assuming it's coinciding with the release, I may be wrong). I've only just hopped on the CS bandwagon and bought my student liscence for CS5.5 and I really hope I don't regret not waiting for CS6 to buy instead.
For all who have been using Flash Pro for a while now, how has it been for previous software updates? Did Air become available to those who had earlier versions of Flash Pro when they released a new version?
    Let me know
    Thanks

Yes its available to those people who have previous versions. Just to change or update the folders (tweeking) for new AIR releases.

  • Flash pro CS55 vs. Flash Builder 45

    Dear Adobe Community,
I have been a Flash Pro (AS3) programmer for some time, but since the advent of Adobe Air for Android and iOS this year, I've been seen increasing momentum in the use of Flex and Flash Builder 4.5. For both Adobe moderators/experts as well as community members, what in your opinion and experience, are the advantages of staying with Flash Pro to develop mobile apps vs. using Flash Builder 4.5?
    thank you for your advice,
    Alex

What Jon says about using Flash Pro for minor AS classes and also avoiding timeline scripting isn't correct. I mean, it is correct if you are of a mindset that is more on the lines of Eclipse code editing, but there are other ways of working with Flash. It is possible to have very complex AS projects, and also it's possible to do impressively complex things with only timeline code. You can even do that in organized ways!
My general approach is that if I have to work with colleagues, or it's a job requirement to work with classes (like, there's going to be a code review by the client), or I am reusing a previous project's classes, then I'll do it as external packages. If I have to do something really quickly, or if it's a proof of concept, I'll do timeline code. Sometimes I will completely work out a technique using timeline code, and then incorporate the code into a class file to use with the main project.
I made the "select your own seat" application for Carnegie Hall site, almost entirely with timeline code (there is one place where I needed to share some code amongst nine FLAs, so for that I used #include of an external non-class AS file). I also made the MiXit apps on cartoonnetwork.com, and it has around 50 external AS class files, but also quite a bit of timeline layout and animation.
I just like how Flash Pro lets you work with graphical things and the code that drives them, all in one environment.

  • How-to add Flash Player 9 to Flash Pro CC - (PC & MAC)

    Howdy -
I wanted to compile all of the helpful information regarding lack of Flash 9 support in Adobe Flash Pro CC.
As you know that Flash 9 is still required for a majority of flash adverts and the DFP platform is especially critical of the flash version on a SWF creative.
Currently in Flash Pro CC the lowest version of flash you can save as is 10.3. Even when you do export a SWF as Flash 10.3, DFP and the DoubleClick validator reports the exported file as Flash 12.

For PC users you are going to need to locate the directories below:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CC\Common\Configuration\Players\FlashPlayer9_0.xml
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CC\Common\Configuration\ActionScript 3.0\FP9\playerglobal.swc
Note: The FP9 folder does not exist in the "ActionScript 3.0" directory, you will need to create it and place the "playerglobal.swc" located on the attached "Windows Flash CC FP9 Assets.zip".

For MAC users you are going to need to locate the directories below:
    /Applications/Adobe Flash CC/Adobe Flash CC.app/Contents/Common/Configuration/Players/FlashPlayer9_0.xml
    /Applications/Adobe Flash CC/Adobe Flash CC.app/Contents/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/FP9/playerglobal.swc
To navigate inside "Adobe Flash CC.app" in Finder, you need to right click it and select "Show Package Content".

When I try to download Flash Pro CC, it says, "Flash Professional is a desktop app so you'll want to download it from your computer."
Thing is, I'm on my computer.

    Hi tobiasmurphy,
    Are you doing the following?
Log in to your Creative Cloud account. (https://creative.adobe.com/)
In the Apps section, download and install the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
Log in to the application after the installation is complete.

  • Flash Pro debugging on Nexus 7 via USB didn't work - at first.

I had a wonderful day so far. Although I have debugged on my Nexus 7 in the past, today it just didn't want to work.
Perhaps there are some bugs to be found here, but I'll leave that up to Adobe to decide.
I'd already been testing an app on my Droid 2 phone and then I switched to my Nexus 7.
Notification says its connected for USB debugging. Clicking on the notification brings up the developer option menu, but I notice its not in my settings screen where it used to be. (Must have disappeared after the last system update.)
I goto settings -> About tablet -> click the build number 7 times ( I hear its 10 for the Nexus 10)
Device now says I'm a developer and I can access the Developer options from the settings menu.
    USB debugging is already checked.
Using the Nexus 7 notification I switched USB connection from a media device to a camera device.
I try to debug my app in Flash Pro, AIR for Android 3.5.0.880 but it just hangs when trying to load the app via USB.
I check the Win7 USB drivers - they are up to date. I uninstall and reinstall them anyway.
I made sure I had the latest version of Android SDK installed - no new USB drivers show up though.
Since I'm debugging, it has toggled off captive runtime.
I go to Android platform tools and run adb logcat from a cmd prompt and it can't seem to kill the outdated server and create a new one.
I visit StackOverflow. From advice I found there I open up my Win7 Task Manager and found 8 copies of ADB.exe running.
I kill them all. But every time I have to cancel out of a hung-up attempt by Flash Pro to publish to a USB device, more of those ADB.exe tasks get left behind and they have to manually be killed.
Now I can run adb logcat and see my device logs.
Finally it dawns on me that my Nexus 7 is running the latest version of AIR 3.7.0.186
On a hunch, I switch Flash Pro up to using AIR for Android 3.7.0.1530 and try again to debug. It forces to captive runtime and then runs the app on the device.
Turns out my Droid 2 device, which was running the debug app just fine, was running AIR 3.7.0.166. So I updated it to the latest version of AIR just to see if it exhibited the same problems - fortunately it didn't.
What irony. I'm developing on AIR 3.5 because AIR 3.7 forces captive runtime on my app and I don't always want that. But now it appears that AIR 3.7 has the added "benefit" of preventing debugging of older, non-captive runtime AIR apps on some devices. Actually, after further testing I can't even publish an AIR 3.5 captive-runtime app (debug off) straight to the device. No error though - just a silent hangup. I suppose that's one way Adobe can force developers to upgrade to the latest version of AIR and just accept having captive runtime forced on them. I have to wonder though if all my previously published apps are now going to stop working if users upgrade their devices to AIR 3.7.0.186. I really hope not.
Update: I can still side-load an AIR 3.5 captive-runtime app onto my Nexus 7 and run them.
And older AIR 3.4 versions of the apps I work with still function on my Droid 2 running the latest AIR 3.7 runtimes. That makes be feel better.
I hope this info helps other developers.

Thank you! This is the only thing that fixed my problem after hours and hours of searching.
I had the same problem with the publishing never completing. It turns out that I was publishing to AIR 3.4 while my device has 3.8. Updating the SDK solved all of my problems. Thanks again!

  • Should I render a looping movie in After Effects or in Flash Pro?

Hello. I am using Flash Pro CS6.
Right now I am trying to make a simple SWF file that can play three looping clips via individual play buttons.
I made three FLV movies in After Effects. They are  80 frames , 30 fps clips, but those clips have lots of same frames. I mean one clip is something like this.
    AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD AAAA
    AAAA DDDD CCCC BBBB AAAA
    AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD AAAA
    AAAA EEEE FFFF BBBB AAAA
It contains just 6 frames(A,B,C,D,E,and F). As you can see there are lots of same frames.
I want to make SWF as small as possible, so to make it small, I should import still images and make a new timeline in Flash pro and render them as SWF in it?if I import still bitmap images(ABCDEF images) into Flash Pro and make a SWF in it, Flash Pro can do better compression than AE? If so I will remake the timeline. I really need better compression because I need to submit a SWF file whose limit is 5MB.
If I need to make my SWF small,Which is the best choice? Making a FLV in AE and import it into Flash Pro and publish, OR Making a movie using those still images in Flash Pro and publish? Give me your advice. Thank you in advance.

    Thank you for your advice.
Is it better to make a movie in Adobe Flash? Can you explain the  merit? I always use AE and it's much easier for me to make a movie in AE, if there is not big difference I want to stick with AE timeline. Tween function is kinda hard to handle.
And thank you for the FLV info.I will upload them and use them as an external clip.

  • Flash Pro CS6 - not enough JVM memory - change 128 to 256, flash doesn't start.

    Hi,
working on very large projects, I often get the "flash ran out of memory for the jvm" error.
Restarting flash does the trick for another couple of hours, until I get that error again.
It opens the jvm.ini file to let me increase Xmx memory value.
    I change it from -Xmx128m to -Xmx256m
I restart flash, get the error: "Error initializing Java Runtime environment. You may need to reinstall Flash"
I change it back to -Xmx128m, and flash starts again.
But obviously, I again get the "not enough memory" error.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Also,
after installing Flash Pro CS6, previously installed Flash Pro CS5.5 does not start, gives me the JVM initialization error all the time, regardless of which Xmx value I put for CS5.5

back to square one again. The error message just popped up. So annoying.
    update:
I removed some of the images I embed using the '[Embed tag'. And now it publishes again without the error. Weird because the published swf is only 1.8MB. Nothing crazy. So the problem seems related to embedding images using the [Embed tag...
    update 2 / FIX:
Instead of using the embed tag to embed images I now have an 'assets' folder that I add to the AIR project (publish settings) that contains my images. Then I load the various images using the Loader. After an image is loaded I convert it to a Texture to use in Starling like so:
    var bitmap:Bitmap = new Bitmap(new BitmapData(currentBigTextureLoader.width, currentBigTextureLoader.height, true, 0x00000000));
    bitmap.bitmapData.draw(currentBigTextureLoader);
    bigTextures[aBigTexturesToLoad[nCurrentBigTextureToLoad]] = Texture.fromBitmap(bitmap);
You can then use these Textures to display an image in Starling like so:
    var base:Image = new Image(bigTextures["CollectionBase"]);
Bit of a workaround but al least I don't get the Java Error anymore

  • Swf increase size mystery publishing into Flash 8 and Flash CS4

    Hello,
i discovered recently that a swf build with Flash 8 IDE, published for Flash Player 8 get a different size when published with Flash CS4 IDE.
You can reproduce that effect with all sort of swf.
I did a report for each publish (same .fla into Flash 8 IDE and Flash CS4 IDE)
The result was : all vector graphics, all fonts, all bitmaps, all actionscript code increased
From test.fla, i did one key frame with :
    - a dynamic TextField with some simple chars in it = "Test Chars",
    - a simple shape with brush tool
    - and one movieclip with an ordinary circle

Does somebody knows something about this strange phenomen ?

Didn't look at the file size of the FLA, just the SWF as I didn't even necessarily resave the CS4 as CS6. No edits were made, I tried it with a simple open and publish just to make sure I wasn't doing anything to change the file and the resulting file was heavier (kb).
I looked through the size reports and saw that while image compression was better in the CS6 version, the fonts were all heavier than they were in the CS4 version and this put it over the 40kb limit.

  • Replace the "Flash Pro" name to "Flash 3D"

I teach Flash since few years and I can observe since Flash is not supported on iPad, and on next Windows mobile, everybody leaves Flash formation to learn HTML5. Maybe it's great for HTML websites, but, as the last Nissan project can show us (www.nissan-stagejuk3d.com), Flash still is an important way to present impactant projects. So, we need to change the vision people have about Flash right now. Flash is not dead !
The only way to change opinion is very simple, change Flash name !
The new name of Flash pro should include this vision of a great interactive experience impossible in HTML5, that means how much Flash can complete HTML5. The most single an efficient name I propose, compare what the new version of Flash is going to be, seems to be "FLASH 3D" unstead of "Flash Pro". What do you think about it ?
I'm sure this will be welcome by formators and designers. We then could show to designers that Flash got a new vocation and kill the rumors about a end of Flash. The rumor about the end of Flash will then impact only old versions of Flash named Flash Pro, introucing the new Flash generation called Flash 3D ! Great way, isn't it ?

Well I found this on the Flash Player debug download page (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html):
"10/3/11 - Updated debugger (aka debug players or content debuggers) and standalone (aka projector) versions of Flash Player 11.0 are available for Flash Builder 4, Flash Catalyst, Flash Professional CS4, and Flash Professional CS5 users"
I tried installing the standalone player available there,  but after placing it in the proper Flash Pro CS5 directory at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5\Players, the standalone player launched by Flash Professional CS5 still won't work with FP11 Stage 3D content.  I still get the VerifyError:
"Error #1014: Class flash.display3D.textures::Texture could not be found."
    I am using Away3D 4.0.
Oh well.  Guess I'll just have to keep viewing it in the browser for now  :-(

  • C-level extensibility doesn't work in Flash Pro CC

It is now impossible to create a native C/C++ library and export C functions that can be used by Flash commands for instance. The sample C-level extensibility project "SampleDll" now does not work in Flash Pro CC as well:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/extend/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118a9024f3f-7783CS5.h tml
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/developer/flash/flash-pro-samples.zip
When Flash Pro CC is installed the "<user_home_dir>/AppData/Local/Adobe/Flash CC/<language_code>/Configuration/External Libraries" already contains a dll that exports the MM_Init and MM_Terminate, so presumably the C-level extensibility is still available, but its probable new usage might not be yet documented.

First off, http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/main/samples/Flash_ActionScript3.0 _samples.zip doesn't contain a single dll or a C-source file. I've checked this zip file even before you've wrote your answer since the page http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/samples.html states:
    flash-pro-samples.zip (ZIP, 9 MB)
Note: ActionScript 3 versions of the ActionScript 2 samples in this ZIP are available above in Flash_ActionScript3.0_Samples.zip.
As it is stated here, there are only ActionScript samples in the new zip archive and no C-extensibility API ones.
Thanks for the tip that I should build a 64-bit binary.

  • Using Flash Pro and Flash Builder together | Learn Flash Professional CS5 & CS5.5 | Adobe TV

Adobe Flash Professional CS5 and Adobe Flash Builder 4 enable time-saving workflows. Learn how to develop content in Flash while editing associated ActionScript code in Flash Builder 4, switching easily between the two applications to edit and test.
    http://adobe.ly/w50IJm

This doesn't seem to work the same way in CS5.5 / CS6
In the video the class files are associated with the FLA, when you switch back to Flash Pro...
So far, when I follow these steps the classes are not associated with the FLA, the class field for the stage in Flash remains blank.
Also, clicking the edit icon in the properties of a MovieClip and allowing FB to create the file, does not associate the as file with the MovieClip.
Returning to Flash Pro and clicking the Edit button attempt to create a new file once again, but since the file already exists in FB it just remains on the New ActionScript Class dialog, with the Finish Button grayed out (because a file with the same name already exists in FB).
The resulting AS files for a given are created in a sub folder under:
    Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/[Project]/src-[Project]/*.as
Yet the FLA is located in Documents:
    Documents/[Project].fla
Should the as files exists with the fla, is a folder reference supposed to be set, or did I miss a step somewhere?
Is a source path supposed to be added to Flash Pro for:
    Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/[Project]
I am currently on a Mac, but noticed the same behavior in Windows at work yesterday.
    Thanks,
    Josh
