I'm new to Java programming and I wanted to write a program that would set my computer's date as I wanted. But I don't know what class and methods to use and I didn't find anything in the Java API Specification. Please help me.

I don't think you can do this with java. I think the only way to do this is to drop out of java via JNI.

I am not sure what format these files are in.. but if they are itunes or iphoto.. have a care.. it is easy to corrupt them.

There are plenty of other ways to do it.. but issues to do with Apple not using a dynamic DNS client so if your ISP does not allocate you a static public IP there is no way to find it, if the public ip rotates as they are designed to do hourly or daily.

BTW your school system may simply block the port.. if I was a school IT admin.. I would. You are dragging files across to the internal school network bypassing the firewall.. that is unacceptable risk to the whole school system.

There is a date and time Title you can use. If I recall correctly, it displays date plus hours and minutes, but not seconds.

Can't access the internal Time Capsule disk

I bought the Time Capsule a few months ago when I got a 13" MacBook Pro for my wife. The idea was to be able to back up both MacBooks automatically. At 2TB I expected to be able to use the Time Capsule as a NAT to archive some files I didn't want filling up the MacBooks but wanted infrequent access to. Within the last week I noticed that the Time Machine backups had stopped and I could no longer see the TC data disk in finder. I now understand that the TC shouldn't do both backup and archive on the disk. I am trying to "archive" the TC disk onto a 1TB USB drive attached to the TC using the Airport Utility. After 23 hours, 130GB of 681GB on the TC disk has been archived onto the 931GB USB drive. My questions are: Will it ever finish the archive successfully? Is the archived file a bit by bit copy so I can save the files I archived onto the TM disk then erase the TM backups? If I erase the TC disk, will I get it back to a state where I can use it as a strictly TM backup disk for the two MacBooks?

No, reset will not touch the data.. but your TC name or even disk name could have changed and you will need to fix any connection to it. It will also reset passwords which could have been set.. and so you will have to change that.
Mountain Lion seems to be painful in how the finder was setup.
The TC should appear under shared. Make sure you have it turned on.

Archive DB mounts but can't access the data on the mailbox

We had a dirty shut down.
We tried the standard repair with mseutil but ended up having to use /p
One archive mailbox does open but the other does not.
We tried to repair that mailbox

So a couple of things;
1. Did you keep a copy of the non-repaired database?
2. Eseutil /P removes entire pages of data as it finds errors which means that depending upon which pages are removed it can effect bot good and bad data
3. After the /P your should definitely do an eseutil /D to defragment the DB as its best practice to do so after doing a /P and it should clean up the remaining issue
4. If the /D doesn't do the trick then the only other option would be to
A: Restore the archive DB from backup via RDB and recover the data
B: Try out our DigiScope tool to open an offline copy of the EDB before the /P was run. If accessible then I would remove the production archive DB, recreate it and use DS to recover from the offline archive DB to the recreated
production archive mailbox

Satellite U400-124 - Vista don't boot so how can I access the data?

I have a problem with my U400-124 when it loads Vista. It has a blue screen error when trying to start windows. It comes up with the boot repair program but that does not work. Therefore I have a question, unless someone can help with the above.
I have the restore discs but I have to get some data off the hard drive. Is it possible to remove the hard drive, place in an external case and copy the data I need. Then place the hard drive back in and start the restore process?

Yes, this is no problem and you can do this.
I did the same on my Satellite notebook. Its pretty easy because the HDD is removed in few minutes and so I can backup all my data on my other notebook.
Such USB 2.5 SATA HDD adaptors are not expensive. Ask your local computer dealer or search on eBay. I bought my adaptor from eBay.

I Can't access the data on my Time Capsule

Everytime I try to access my data from my MacBook Pro running 10.8, my finder window closes. I tried attaching my laptop using an ethernet cable and resetting the time capsule, but my problem persists.
Any advice?

Did you copy the stuff across before you upgraded to ML?? Or did you do this from ML?
Did you do a full factory reset? That might help.. also do not use both wireless and wired connection at the same time.
There are some issues with ML recognising the TC .. but I refuse to upgrade.. to such a poor networking OS.
You might have to do some devious stuff to get at your files.. Like connect it to a Mac still running a decent networking OS.

hello friend ru looking at date and time @ client side frm the server side if it is all about the client side date i don't think there is use of AJAX triggers and rendering the view by modifying the dom...

I see the drive under the shared tab in Finder, but I cannot open it. I am at school and need to access documents that are stored on my time capsule at home. When I set everything up, I enabled "sharing over WAN" and everything and set up the password access. The software is up to date. How can I get into my drive? How can I access the Attribute Values from the Search Region

I have a table which contains Company id, department id, and PositonId. For a particular Company and Department there may be multiple records.
I have to pupulate a table which contains the position and other details that comes under a particular Department and Position based on the selection in the Three comboBoxes.
Also I have to populate a select many Shuttle to add new postions and records under a particular Department.
I created a query panel *(Search Region)* for the serch and a table to display the data. That is working fine.
Now the issue is I am using a view criteria to populate the shuttle with two bind variables ie, DepartmentId and CompanyId.
If the serach will return a resuktant set in the table it will also pupulate the correct records, otherwise ie, if the if the serch result is empty the corresponding iterator and the attribute is setting as null.
SO I want to access the attribute values from the Search Region itsef to populate the shuttle.
I don't know how can I access the data from the Search Region.

How do I change the date/time of a dll created in LabVIEW without killing it

I use the LabVIEW (6.0.2 of course) Application builder to create a dll, and I cannot enter creation information, nor can I modify the date time property, which labVIEW does not properly set. I have tried to modify this information in Visual C++, but that destroys the dll because it wasn't compiled in VC++, and therefore isn't compatible.
If anyone knows how to correctly modify the date/time (and the checksum) without destroying the dll, I would be gratefull to know.
