Can I attach an OLE object to print on the page following a group after the regular pages print?

Post Author: Rose57
CA Forum: General
I have a PO form to print.  The user wants the option to print the Terms and Conditions page after a PO is printed.
This optional page is not to have any page headers, group headers, group footers, nor page footers.  It is just a OLE object that fills an entire page by itself.
There may be multiple PO's to print, but, if the user wants the Terms and Conditions to print, it must print on the page following each PO.
Is there a way to do this in Crystal Reports 10?

@Evert – or you can do it with a table (1 row 1 column = 1 cell) like that:
And it can break out away from spine if you format the paragraph that holds the table accordingly:

Make a link to your pdf file.

  • When I compose a message, I don't get the composition menu - attachemnt, send, etc. I can only attach something if I use one of the codewords like "attach".

I have had to install Thunderbird on new PCs and I no longer get the menu bars on the composition page. I cannot attach a file unless I type "attach" or another keyword in the body of the message. Then I get a reminder asking if I forgot to attach something and can click on that. How do I get my menu bars back? Clicking in the upper right corner doesn't give me the right options.

In the main menu bar of the compose window:

  • How can I attach artwork to a film file in the new iTunes?

Just recently went through a binge of updates (iOS on phone and iPad, Mavericks, iTunes).  Somewhere in the process, I lost the ability to attach artwork to film files (haven't checks TV or albums yet).  I go to "get info".  I update the genre, sort it as a film, and attach the artwork.  All other changes hold, but the artwork is simply lost.  If you reopen the "get info" file the artwork is blank.  Is this planned?  A bug to be fixed?  Any thoughts on a workaround?  Thanks.

  • How do I make a photo a jpeg that can be attached to an email and not in the body

How do I attach photos to an email so that they are an attachment and not in the body of the email?

Right click on the photo in the email and select Display as Attachment from the contextual menu.  How it ends up is dependent on the email client.  You may have it show up as an attachmen before sending and the receiving end may be set to display it in the body.
In either case be sure to set Mail to send Windows Friendly Attachments:
If you compress/zip the file it before adding to the email it will definitely be added as an attachment. But that requires an couple of additonal steps and to assure the zipped file will be Windows friendly you would need to use the free YemuZip application.

  • Disable manipulation of OLE Objects in Previewer

    Hello to all,
I've developed several reports containing OLE objects stored in tables. These maybe Word Docs, Excel Sheets, images, etc. The OLE objects are displayed in the previewer / printout correctly. But when you doubleclick on an OLE object in the Previewer the OLE server app starts and you can manipulate these objects. When you return to the Previewer these changes can be printed but are not stored in the database (which is alright). Now here is my problem : as these printouts represent electronically signed documents, no change in its contents is allowed. How can i prevent the user form changing these objects ?
I hope I made my problem clear. Thanks to anyone who can help.

  • Problem with embedded OLE objects

I am using Outlook as client.
I sent mail with Excel table as embeddet object.
Outlook can after what read and show this mail.
But if I read this mail with SOAP I get a message body without Excel table.
I thought it should be in attachment.
hasAttachments-filed in mail object is true, but attachments-filed is empty (not null!): attachments=AttachmentItemInfo[0].
I am reading mail with getItemRequest and view = "default attachments attachment message attachments".
We are using Groupwise 8.0.1 HP1.
What is hier wrong? How can I read OLE object with SOAP?

The complete response was not included.
If you are trying to save an embedded OLE attachment,
there is no logic to do that on the POA, the attachment
    will be dropped.

  • Memory problem if OLE-object references to WMF files

    Hi there,
I have a report with an OLE object containing WMFs.
The graphic files are variable and their name is loaded from the database during runtime (path + filename).
Running the report leads to 185 pages, each one containing a different WMF.
If I preview the report in CR, everything looks fine.
If I print the report, the OLE object / graphic is left empty....
If I export the report to PDF (as an example) I get the error message 'memory full'. Reducing the data set to ~50, the PDF is created. But the pictures get resized (much bigger) and only parts are visible.
The machine I'm using doesn't have any memory problems.
The WM files are only 3 to 12 KB each.
If I convert the WMFs to JPG and use these within the report it works...
Problem with this: a loss of quality (it is necessary to stretch the pictures to certain size)
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
    Susanne
I'm using CR 2008 SP 3 on Windows 2003 Server

Format the pictures outside of CR for best results.

  • OLE objects & scaning in Acrobat 8.0

    Hello!
In forums (May 3, 2007) I have read the question:
" How to avoid dialogue of saving in a file before scanning in Acrobat 8"?
Leonard Rosenthol has answered, that there is no way because
now developers changed from "Scan & Save" to "Save & Scan".
    It is very surprising!!!
I have the application which uses OLE automation for scanning documents in Acrobat and place them in
    database as OLE objects.
In database the object is created on the basis of an PDF file with one empty page and then activated in
    window of Acrobat.
Then menu item "Scan" is carried out.
Fragment of VBA code (properly work in Acrobat 6):
    Set GL.Acr = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
    GL.Acr.Show
    GL.Acr.Minimize 0
Me!DocImage.Class = "AcroExch.Document" 'set class of OLE object
Me!DocImage.SourceDoc = "c:\applicants\empty.pdf" 'source file with empty sheet
Me!DocImage.Action = acOLECreateEmbed 'creation on basis of source file
    Me!DocImage.Verb = acOLEVerbOpen 'command - open
Me!DocImage.Action = acOLEActivate 'activation in Acrobat
    ScanExe = GL.Acr.MenuitemExecute("Scan")
    If ScanExe = False Then
But Acrobat 8.0 does not understand, that document is open from OLE object
and always gives out save dialog before scaning.
Menu items -"Update" (instead of "Save") and "Exit and Return to ..."
    (instead of "Exit") are absent.
It turns out, that in Acrobat 8 you have destroyed an opportunity of work with
documents contained in OLE objects in other applications. It is absolutely not clear.
    Please answer what to do???

    Dear Leonard!
    I disagree with your answer.
OLE automation is used by many programs.
Within the framework of this technology is widely used:
    - creation and preservation of object in the application - client (database in my case),
    - then opening of object in application - server (Acrobat in my case)
    - and applying methods described in the documentation of application - server to open object.
In my code is used the standard technology of OLE automation and ONLY!!! the methods described in the documentation of Acrobat.
My code works in Acrobat 6 and Acrobat 7.
I have written previous message to make Acrobat better!!!
I so understand, that you answer on behalf of developers, but your answer not worthy the world famous name - "Adobe".
I think, that developers of new scan plug-in for Acrobat 8 simply did not consider, that the document can be open from the object stored in application - client.
And as representative of developers it is necessary for you either to recognize publicly a problem or publicly to declare, that "Adobe" will not solve it, instead of to write, that not documentary opportunities have been used.
    Yours faithfully,
    Victor.

  • Translation Toolkit (PB 12.5) / OLE objects binary (.udo)

There's always been an issue with using translation toolkit with objects that include OLE objects
In earlier versions of Powerbuilder, the binary data for the OLE object was found in the source code (edit source).
Powerbuilder 12.5 however, when I do edit source on a object containing OLE objects, I find the following script at the bottom:
    string binarykey = "u_external_object.udo".
How may I find this binary content in the .udo file? Can't seem to find any udo files in the build directory.

That is a reference to the compiled version of the object that the olecontrol is placed on. A .udo is the compiled version of a userobject inside the pbl/pbd. A .win is the compiled version of a window.
If you export your object to a .sru file, you will see the following at the end with some binary data in between the two lines.
Start of PowerBuilder Binary Data Section : Do NOT Edit
End of PowerBuilder Binary Data Section : No Source Expected After This Point
The binary data is actually stored separately in the pbl/pbd as a .bin object. Inside the pbl/pbd files nothing has changed.

  • Ole Object in Report

    Hi!
We r trying to embed an OLE Object (gif, bmp) in the report . The report shows the logo (gif) when run thru client server but when run thru Application server no image is shown. Can anyone tell what is the problem.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Srini,
OLE doesn't work on teh Web. Creating a Report for the Web converts the output to HTML, HTMLCSS or PDF. The OLE container gets excluded which is why the image is not shown. Work around is instead of using OLE to include images, to reference them on the filesystem of the Server (or database).

  • Can I attach a Touchscreen monitor to my W530 laptop to use with Window 8?

I purchased a W530 laptop with WIndows 8.  Can I attach an external touchscreen monitor to use the Windows 8 touchscreen feature?    I was told by tech people, in office stores, that it wouldn't work becasue Windows 8 looks at your primary display and see it isn't a touchscreen and turns of that feature during bootup.  Thanks for the advice in advance.
    Solved!

  • Ole object not visible on oracle report

    Hi,
I have an oracle report built in oracle report 6i builder I have used a Boilerplate OLE Object(image.bmp) in the report but when I am executing the report on Oracle E Business(Application) then that OLE object is not visible on the report output(output is in the pdf format).

If you want to display an image on your report, use Link File as item type in the Layout Editor.
Note that the image has to be accessable from the Reports Server.

  • OLE Objects - Visio drawings?

    Post Author: sarmour
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
I've managed to get a bitmap image in my report by inserting an OLE object, and then in the Format Editor, under the Picture tab, I've entered a formula for the Graphic location.  The formula is simply: + '\' +
What I really want to do is get a Visio drawing inserted in my report by pointing to the file location in a similar manner -- is this possible?
    Thanks.

OPEN DATASET is meant for the flat text files, you won't be able to open an mdb file with it. Once I've tried using OLE objects to obtain the file modification date and, even though it worked great in foreground, it didn't work in the background mode.

I have three e-mail accounts (pop3) which I use Mail to get and send mail. Hi Caroline,
Are you trying to attach a file to the message without typing anything in the message body? You need to have typed something, even a space, in the message body before attachments will attach.
Not sure exactly when, but this has been a 'feature' of Mail for a while now, and one that I personally dislike.
