Can I catch the resulting TopLink query in the JSF backing bean?

Hello!
I'm using a JSF in my application. In my case, data on the JSF Pages is based on a TopLink queries, which usually have some parameters. Such a construction works fine except one moment.
For export data purposes, I need to catch the generated text of query evidently, suppose, in a Page's backing bean.
Is it possible to perform this action and how to?
Thanks.

generally speaking, you can just throw one exception a time. you can throw your own application but you can't throw both SQLException and your own.

• The result is empty for the XPath expression

Hi friends
Please, could anyone help-me with this issue? My BPEL process was working yesterday and stoped today...
I think I´m facing a namespace problem.
If I start my process using BPEL Console, filling the "HTML form" option, all works ok.
If my process is started by a call from another bpel process, my XPath query gives me an error, but the 2 received messages are "almost" egual:
Using BPEL Console:
<RejectionMessage>
<part name="message" >
<RejectedMessage ns1:BatchId="" ns1:PrimaryKey="" ns1:RejectionId="invalid_msg_processName_token1_token2_token3" ns1:BatchInfo="" >
<MessageHeader/>
<MessagePayload/>
<RejectionReason/>
</RejectedMessage>
</part>
</RejectionMessage>
Started by another BPEL Process:
<RejectionMessage>
<part name="message" >
<RejectedMessage RejectionId="INVALID_MSG_BatchTest_Read_20060418_101233_0463" BatchId="" BatchInfo="" PrimaryKey="" >
<MessageHeader/>
<MessagePayload> AgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgIE1aIEpBSVJPUyAg MDYwMzA4MTAwMQ0K </MessagePayload>
<RejectionReason> ORABPEL-11008</RejectionReason>
</RejectedMessage>
</part>
</RejectionMessage>
XPath Query:
bpws:getVariableData('RejectionMessage','message','/ns2:RejectedMessage/@ns2:RejectionId')
In the first case, it works.
In the second case, it raises a "The result is empty for the XPath expression" error.
As you can see, this process is used as a "Rejection Handler" process: It implements the interface defined in RejectionMessage.wsdl
Could you help me?
Thanks in advance

Hi All
I find a workaround to the problem. I´m almost sure it is a bug in BPEL.
As you can see on my previous post, the diferences between the two messages is that the attributes have qualified names on one message and unqualified names on the other: ns1:BatchId, ns1:PrimaryKey...
The schema definition for this message (JCAErrorHandling.xsd) define that attribute names MUST be qualified (attributeFormDefault="qualified"). The problem is that the File Adapter sends the message with unqualified attribute names!!
So I edited JCAErrorHandling.xsd (<ORACLE_HOME>\integration\orabpel\system\xmllib\jca) file, changing it to attributeFormDefault="unqualified".
The correct solution is to fix File Adapter to send the message with qualified names, so I´m opening a Service Request at Oracle Metalink.
Thanks.

• Problem with the icon "Display query on the web" in Query Designer

Hi Friends,
I was told by my PM to give them all FI Modules standard business contenet reports, so for that reason i have installed all FI business content & loaded the data in the Dev Server, now i just want to show the reports, but i want excute these reports in Internet Explorer using the Icon "Display Query on the WEB" in query designer, when i click on that it isn't getting displayed in the browser.
the URL coming like this, "http://itcchqbd:8100/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=0FIAA_C11&QUERY=0FIAA_C11_Q0001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1"
getting the message in the page, the page can't be displayed,
How to solve this problem & how do i have to show the standard business content reports to all FI Superiors ?
awaiting for ur answers
Regards,
Balaji

Balaji,
first check if you have enabled web reporting on your BW server ( there is a how to paper for the same )
another way to check out the same is to find out if there are existing web templates being published which would make the server web ready.
As for FI content - activate the FI relevant areas in Business content and then activate the respective datasources and then load the data.. or go trough the best practices for BW-FI ( service.sap.com/bestpractices) wnd then activate the best practices for the same.
Hope it helps.

• Assigning JMS message in BPEL: The result is empty for the XPath expression

Hi,
My project, an Oracle BPEL 11g project, is reading an XML payload from a JMS queue. I would like to transform the message and assign the elements of the messages to other variables. But when I am doing that in the "assign" step, it raises an error: Error in evaluate <from> expression at line "63". The result is empty for the XPath expression : "/ns2:publishProject/payload/Message".
Even though I can see the message payload in the Audit with all the values.
To me it looks like a name space issue, but I could not find out how to correct it. Any hint will be a big help. Please let me know if you want to check the .xsd for the message.

I publish a JMS message to a topic in one BPEL process and have another BPEL process read from the topic and start the flow. The problem I have is that the first process is writing fine to the topic, but the second process seems to be reading twice. I am seeing two instances of the second process in em.
Can anyone help? I am using JDev 11.1.1.1.0
Thanks

Ok so what would have been the result if the equals() method was something like this:
public boolean equals(Object n)
{I guess my question is about the overriding the equals() method which i am not able to understand

what would be the result if we overrode the equals method properlyThe result would be a method, the functionality of which would adhere to Object#equals()'s contract:
public boolean equals(Object obj)
Indicates whether some other object is "equal to" this one.
The equals method implements an equivalence relation on non-null object references:
* It is reflexive: for any non-null reference value x, x.equals(x) should return true.
* It is symmetric: for any non-null reference values x and y, x.equals(y) should return true if and
only if y.equals(x) returns true.
* It is transitive: for any non-null reference values x, y, and z, if x.equals(y) returns true and
y.equals(z) returns true, then x.equals(z) should return true.
* It is consistent: for any non-null reference values x and y, multiple invocations of x.equals(y)
consistently return true or consistently return false, provided no information used in equals
comparisons on the objects is modified.
* For any non-null reference value x, x.equals(null) should return false.

• Finding the context path or docBase in a backing bean - Howto

How should I go about finding the context path or docBase in a backing bean?
Is there anyway to get this from glassfish or jsf? GlassFish proudly displayed it on the Application Server > Applications > Web Applications > page. It puts it there with an EL for example:
${com.sun.aas.instanceRoot}/applications/j2ee-modules/jsf-witaCan and/or should I try to use it in a backing bean? i.e. can I rely on it to stay defined?
Or should I make a property which I can set for my backing work?

Is this what you want?
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getContext()

• Using Powershell Script Run simple query in MS Access 2007 and export the results of query to Excel

Hi Experts,
I have a Access 2007 DB file and 2 Big tables inside that (bigger than the size that can be easily handled by MS Excel 2007).
My requirement is automate using powershell scripts the below things.
1. Create a SQL query in Access DB and save that in access DB
2. Run the saved query and export the result in excel sheet where I can create the charts and Pivots. Thanks in advance
Prajesh

Do you have to use the Access query, couldn't you just recreate the query in Powershell? Here's a link with good info that references an existing script for querying an Access database:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2009/08/13/hey-scripting-guy-can-i-query-a-microsoft-access-database-with-a-windows-powershell-script.aspx
Once you have your dataset you can pipe it to
Export-Csv -NoType c:\pathtofile\output.csv

• How to achieve the results by Query ??

Hello Guys,
I have couple tables which I need to join to get the result....This is what is in the tables...
CList Table
CID, Name
A, ABC
B,CDE
C,JFK
JList Table
JID, Name
1, Something
2, Another
3, Else
4, Should be something
JOb_2_Courses
JobID, CourseID
1,A
1,B
2,C
Employee Table
EID, Job_ID
1A, 1
2A,1
3B,1
2C,2
23D,3
CStatus Table
StatusID, Desc
1,Completed
2,Pending Approval
3,Declined
4,Scheduled
5,Register
Now user can only register the course which are related with their job....NO course else.....
When they register it is moved to temp_course_registration and then once completed to COURSE_HISTORY
For Example : So Employee : 1A will see two courses to register A and B...
Say he registers A....it makes an entry in temp_course_registration table with the course id, employeeid and date....
With further steps once that status is updated to '1'.....the course is deleted from temp_course_registration and is moved to course_history........
Now to show to the user...I need to include all my tables in the query and on the basis of status, show necessary things to the user....
Output :
Course_ID, Status.............
Say if they completed the course will come from course_history, if in the process will come from temp_course_registration.....if nothing is in the tables for the specific employee...this means status is '5' and they need to register everything...
Can someone let me know, how to achieve the results....
Thanks,
Harsimrat

Hello
I'm off home now so I can't look at the query, but for future reference, if you want to improve your chances of getting help, you need to provide simple create table statements, and test data to go with it. I've done that with what you provided and hopefully someone else will be able to help. Also, you were asked if you could provide this in your other thread...
CREATE TABLE CList(CID varchar2(1), Name varchar2(3))
insert into clist values('A', 'ABC');
insert into clist values('B','CDE');
insert into clist values('C','JFK');
CREATE TABLE JList(JID number, Name varchar2(30))
insert into jlist values(1, 'Something');
insert into jlist values(2, 'Another');
insert into jlist values(3, 'Else');
insert into jlist values(4, 'Should be something');
CREATE TABLE JOb_2_Courses(JobID number, CourseID varchar2(1))
insert into job_2_courses VALUES(1,'A');
insert into job_2_courses VALUES(1,'B');
insert into job_2_courses VALUES(2,'C');
CREATE TABLE Employee (EID varchar2(3), Job_ID number)
INSERT INTO employee VALUES('1A', 1);
INSERT INTO employee VALUES('2A',1);
INSERT INTO employee VALUES('3B',1);
INSERT INTO employee VALUES('2C',2);
INSERT INTO employee VALUES('23D',3);
CREATE TABLE CStatus(StatusID number, Descr varchar2(30))
insert into cstatus values(1,'Completed');
insert into cstatus values(2,'Pending Approval');
insert into cstatus values(3,'Declined');
insert into cstatus values(4,'Scheduled');
insert into cstatus values(5,'Register');HTH

• Can't get same results on query using dynamic time frame versus static time frame

I am trying to run a query on a Lookout database using MS Access. If I use static dates as criteria in the "LocalTime" field I get results that are marked on the hour, eg. 1:00 pm. If I try to use dynamic dates as criteria I get results that are marked on the half hour, eg. 1:30 pm. The results are for each hour but the difference in the queries causes the dynamic query to come up with different results than a spreadsheet generated by Lookout that the client relies on for backup. Does anybody know a way I can get the dynamic date query to act like the static query? I can't use static queries because this is for a daily report and the client will not pay for me to make 365 new queries each y
ear. I tried NI's tech support but they pointed me to the same SQL examples that are in the Developer's Manual which are all static queries. Tech Support also told me they can't help me figure out dynamic queries.

Yes I am using an interval clause that says "interval=1:00". I create the localtime clause dynamically and this seems to be where my problem lies. No matter what I have the dynamic function create the date/time as, i.e., 07/01/2002 or 07/01/2002 12:00 AM or 07/01/2002 00:00, the time the query returns for each record is 32 minutes after the hour. From this I assume it is averaging each hour interval from one half hour mark to the next, eg. from 12:30 am to 1:30 am. This is born out because the hourly averages do not match the averages for the same time frame that Lookout exports to an Excel spreadsheet. Thanks for your suggestion though.

• Can not select and delete a query in the screen designer

I am getting mad with that problem...
The problem is that I had a query(query1) based in another query(query2), both created in the query designer.
I think some changes been made to query2 so query 1 was giving some erros.
I am trying to delete query 1, but it still appears in the data sources.
And when I try to erase it from the screens, when I select the query visual studio closes...
So please, how can I erase that query definitely?
