  • How can I create a Forms9i Runtime for client distribution

    Currently we have an application developed in Forms 5.0.6.8.0 our Database has been upgraded to 9i DB. The application is working fine with this combination but we want to upgrade Forms in order to get Oracle Support. We just get the Developer Suite 9i package and we're trying to test our application with this software.
    How can I create the client runtime for Forms 9i?
    My application will work with Win 95 and 98?
    Thanks.

    Oracle9i Forms is web-only. Forms 6i is the last release of Forms to have client/server and character mode.
    You can test Forms from the Builder by installing iDS. To deploy Forms using iAS follow the documentation. It's all there in the deployment guide.
    iAS and Forms doco can be found on OTN.

    Please help

    Hi Jason,
    I think the issue might have been with your specific download.  I am able to create a server runtime to the 4.0 (build 89) GA install from OEPE and am able to start the domain as well.
    D:\GlassFish\GlassFish_4_linux_zip\glassfish4\bin>asadmin
    Use "exit" to exit and "help" for online help.
    asadmin> start-domain
    Waiting for domain1 to start ..............
    Successfully started the domain : domain1
    domain  Location: D:\GlassFish\GlassFish_4_linux_zip\glassfish4\glassfish\domains\domain1
    Log File: D:\GlassFish\GlassFish_4_linux_zip\glassfish4\glassfish\domains\domain1\logs\server.log
    Admin Port: 4848
    Command start-domain executed successfully.
    asadmin> version
    Version = GlassFish Server Open Source Edition  4.0  (build 89)
    Command version executed successfully.
    asadmin>
    if you need to be on 4.0, I would suggest you try to download the installer again.
    cheers

  • How to create variables at runtime

    Hi,
    I need to know how can i create variables at runtime.
    or is their anything like array that we create in 'C' if yes . how can i define its size at runtime.
    Thanks,
    Dev.

    In forms, either record groups or pl/sql tables of records give similar functionality to an array. You have full programatic control of either but with completely different syntax. Record groups integrate well with certain forms built-ins and features (eg LOVs and Tree items). PL/sql tables integrate well with other pl/sql such as stored procedures. Unlike an array, a pl/sql table may be SPARSE (index numbers need not be sequential), and UNBOUNDED (no need to declare the number of rows).

  • Can I create a dynamic number of inputs during runtime?

    Can I create a dynamic number of inputs during runtime?
    Oracle 11g
    Application Express 4.0.2.00.06
    Here is my problem:
    We have a table that holds metadata about files (hardcopy or softcopy files).
    We expect we may need more columns in the table at some point and don't want to modify the table or the application.
    So in order to do this I would like to create:
    A table called TBL_FILE with the columns:
    TBL_FILE_ID               NUMBER                (This will be the primary key)
    TBL_FILE_NAME          VARCHAR2(1000) (This will be the name of the file)
    A second table will be called TBL_FILE_META with the columns:
    TBL_META_ID               NUMBER               (This will be the primary key)
    TBL_FILE_ID               NUMBER                (This will be the forign key to the file table)
    TBL_META_COLUMN     VARCHAR2(30)     (This is what the column name would be if it existed in TBL_FILE)
    TBL_META_VALUE          VARCHAR2(1000) (This is the value that record and the 'would be' column)
    So a person can have as much meta data on the file with out having to add columns to the table.
    The problem is how can I allow users to add as much data as they like with out having to re develop the page.
    Other things to note is that we would like this to be on a single page.
    I know how to add we can create multi-row inserts by using a SQL Query (updateable report),
    however the TBL_META_VALUE column in the TBL_FILE_META will sometimes be a select list and other times a text box or number field.
    So I don't see now a SQL Query (updateable report) would work for this and I can't create an array of page items at run time can I?
    Any idea's how I could accomplish this? Is there a better way of doing this?
    Also is there a term or a name for what I am doing by creating these 'virtual' columns in another table?
    I found this method when looking at Oracles Workflow tables.

    Creating Page Items dynamically is not available. You will have to create excess items and hide/show , etc. But you cannot change the Item Type. All in all, too many limitations in this approach.
    >
    Other things to note is that we would like this to be on a single page.
    >
    The 100 item limit will hit you if you go with extra item on page. With Tabular Form that should not be a limitation, unless you are exceeding the 50 item limit of APEX_APPLICATION.G_Fnn items, and the 60 column limitation of Report region with "Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)" of Dynamic region.

    If the type if item is variable it only means you need a way to store the item type. Meta Data of the Meta Data.

    >
    Yes, you can do it. Updatable report/ Tabular Form query can be constructed from the Meta Data using PL/SQL Function Returning SQL Query . It will be a bit of coding in PL/SQL where you use the Meta Data and the Meta Data of the Meta Data to piece together your SELECT with the right APEX_ITEMs. It might have a performance penalty associated with it, but will not be a serious degradation.

  • SBO2004A: Runtime Error 429 ActiveX Component can't Create Object

    Hello,
    We have an Addon developed with VB6 that run without problems with SBO 6.5.
    We have upgraded to SBO2004A and I have referenced in the source code to the 2004 UI and DI. I debug mode (from IDE) we don't have problems, but when I try to execute the addon from a client, I get this error message:
    <b>Runtime Error 429 ActiveX Component can't Create Object</b>
    Thanks in advance

    I'm using Installshield 10.5 to generate the setup file. It's much more easy and not requiered to install Framework 1.1 in each PC client before to install the Addon.
    You have to create and msi project, and write the Installscript to retrieve the install directory from parameter string passed by SAP.
    After install you must execute the AddOnInstallAPI.EndInstall to notify SAP:
    #include "ifx.h"
    prototype  LONG AddOnInstallAPI.EndInstall();
    prototype  LONG AddOnInstallAPI.RestartNeeded();
    // OnFirstUIBefore
    // First Install UI Sequence - Before Move Data
    // The OnFirstUIBefore event is called by OnShowUI when the setup is
    // running in first install mode. By default this event displays UI allowing
    // the end user to specify installation parameters.
    // Note: This event will not be called automatically in a
    // program...endprogram style setup.

    Sorry, your script makes no sense. You never create the object wshshell
    and you never use the object wshSystemEnv. Start the code with
    set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")

    Hi,
    I am using below code in vb6 application but this is throwing an "Runtime Error '429': ActiveX component can't create object" error.
    CreateObject("OracleInProcServer.XoraSession")
    is that due to any dll or reference error ?
    I have an Oracle client installed on my PC
    please share your solution
    Thanks in advance

    Are either of those 64 bit? If so, your problem is likely related to that.
    A 64 bit Oracle client doesn't support OO4O at all, so this code will never work with that client. You need to use a 32 bit one.
    If you are using a 32 bit client but on a 64 bit OS, I've found the 11.2.03 installer doesn't properly register the files. Manually registering OraOleDB11.dll may fix it, though we had to do some other registry stuff and it got very ugly. Backing up to a slightly older client should also fix the problem.

    i created a tab canvas inside a content canvas, but after that, i want to create a new empty canvas by clicking the canvas node ,then "+" , but it always gave me a new canvas with the tab canvas in it as default. this problem happens when i use tab canvas , if i just use other items i.e. text, button,list, i can create a new empty canvas. Thanks.

    I don't quite understand the steps you took to be able to recreate the problem. But you can change the canvas type of a canvas from the property palette.

  • Can we create Communication Channel Dynamically at runtime

    Hi Experts
    Can we create Comm Channels during run time, If yes can any one help me out how to create....?
    My requirement is
    we get a file called manifest file. This file has list of file names and paths.
      step 1. XI has to read manifest file
      step2: from manifest file XI has to read file names and create comm channels dynamically to read these files
      I am looking for option to create comm channel dynamically.
    we need to determine sender dynamically.
    Advance for your Replies
    Regards

    Hi,
    or you can just write a script that will take the file from the path and put it in one directory for PI to fetch
    this should not take longer then 15 mins to create such a creature

    Hi All,
    i my use case i have created simple adf application using ADF BC and want to deploy on Apache server 6.x.
    So my question is that  how can i create Data Source i have goggling and find  two different way to do this.
    1. write following line of code on apache server conf/Context.xml file.
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
                  type="javax.sql.DataSource"
                   driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:dst"
                  username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
                  maxWait="-1"/>
    but when i have used this way i got following exception.
    org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource$PoolGuardConnectionWrapper cannot be cast to oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection
    check link-
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2564233
    2. write following line of code apache conf/Server.xml file
    <GlobalNamingResources>
        <!-- Editable user database that can also be used by
             UserDatabaseRealm to authenticate users
        -->
        <Resource name="UserDatabase" auth="Container"
                  type="org.apache.catalina.UserDatabase"
                  description="User database that can be updated and saved"
                  factory="org.apache.catalina.users.MemoryUserDatabaseFactory"
                  pathname="conf/tomcat-users.xml" />
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
                  type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
                  description="User database that can be updated and saved"
                  driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
                  factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//172.31.43.207:1521:dst"
                  username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
                  maxWait="-1"   />
      </GlobalNamingResources>
    and add this line in context.xml file inside <context> tag
    <ResourceLink global="jdbc/TestDB" name="jdbc/TestDB" type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"/>
    but when i have run application i have got following error

    But when i run the "exe" file it display "can't create Java VM". Here is the part of the code in C program:

    Can anyone tell me the problem?

    I think you need to get the address of the create function from the jvm.dll at runtime and call that: this works for me:
         HINSTANCE handle;
         JavaVMOption options[5];
         char JREHome[MAX_PATH];
         char JVMPath[MAX_PATH];
         char classpathOption[MAX_PATH];
         char librarypathOption[MAX_PATH];
         if(!GetPublicJREHome(JREHome, MAX_PATH))
              LogError("Could not locate JRE");
              abort();
         strcpy(JVMPath,JREHome);
         strcat(JVMPath,"\\bin\\client\\jvm.dll");
        if ((handle=LoadLibrary(JVMPath))==0)
              LogError("Error loading: %s", JVMPath);
              abort();
        CreateJavaVM_t pfnCreateJavaVM=(CreateJavaVM_t)GetProcAddress(handle,"JNI_CreateJavaVM");
        if (pfnCreateJavaVM==0)
              LogError("Error: can't find JNI interfaces in: %s",JVMPath);
              abort();
         strcpy(classpathOption,"-Djava.class.path=");
         strcat(classpathOption,dir);
         strcat(classpathOption,";");
         strcat(classpathOption,JREHome);
         strcat(classpathOption,"\\lib");
         strcat(classpathOption,";");
         strcat(classpathOption,JREHome);
         strcat(classpathOption,"\\lib\\comm.jar");
         strcpy(librarypathOption,"-Djava.library.path=");
         strcat(librarypathOption,JREHome);
         strcat(librarypathOption,"\\lib");
         OutputDebugString("classpath option=");
         OutputDebugString(classpathOption);
         OutputDebugString("\n");
         OutputDebugString("librarypath option=");
         OutputDebugString(librarypathOption);
         OutputDebugString("\n");
         options[0].optionString=classpathOption;
         options[1].optionString=librarypathOption;
         options[2].optionString="vfprintf";

  • Can i Create Output Variable for DB Polling in BPEL 11g?

    Hi Team,
              I want to create the Output Variable for DB Polling,But when i double click on Reply Activity-->Create New Variable it is giving error message like "Can't Create output variable.The Selected operation doesn't have an Output Message".
    My Question is Can we create Output Variable for DB Polling, if Yes tell me the procedure to create the Output variable ?
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
    In these scenario generally runtime faults occurs so you can use the CatchAll activity and rethrow activity to complete the instance in error state. Also before the completion of the process if exception occurs you can rollback all the transaction.
    or
    you can use the Fault handling framework:
    Using Fault Handling in a BPEL Process - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7)

    It looks like makepkg only runs install in the fakeroot. Is there any way a binary installer can be run inside the fakeroot?
    Am I going in the right direction, or is there no way to run a binary installer like this?
    Are there other binary installers that are run like this?
    Best regards,
