Can i implement Brain computer interface on labview biomedical workbench

sir,
This Manikyam from Hyderabad doing m.tech project on implementation of brain computer interface based on labview. can i get any help from your technical team regarding the classical visual evoked potentials paradigm, designs the stimulation program and experimental scheme base on the labview platform. can we use usb x-series 6351 DAQ instead of PXI 6070 DAQ
THANKING YOU sir

Hello,
I have a few questions which may clarify the issue:
1. Is this an error you see on the instrument itself or do you see it in LabVIEW?
2. Are you using a Plug and Play Driver, an IVI driver, or simply programming using NI-VISA in LabVIEW?
3. Can you reproduce this error with a very simple program, such as doing just an initialize and then read 51 times?
As for the data storage setting on the 34401a, it is likely being programmatically set by your LabVIEW application, which would explain why you see it reset all the time when you check in Measuerement and Automation Explorer (MAX). If you set the Data Storage to off in the subVI you mention, does that prevent it from appearing otherwise in MAX?
In any event, I actually have access to an HP34401a so if you'd like to attach a simple program which replicates the problem and only accesses the HP34401a, I can take a look at here and see if there is anything we can do programmatically to fix it!
Thank you,
Best Regards,

  • [Music] Recommending music on Spotify and brain-computer interfaces.

You can make your methodology more better and recommendations music more true. For this I offer to use brain-computer interfaces. For example NeuroSky or Emotiv Systems. For example neurowear.
Brain-computer interfaces can understand the reaction of listener during the track music and to see when his reaction was good or bad. It can be possible to sell earphones with brain-computer interfaces. Music lover will not need to take his smartphone from the pocket to put the music he enjoy to his play list. Brain-computer interfaces with neurowear will choose the music and put it automatically.  Sometimes we can’t decide what music to prefer and we can put or cut several times before we understand if we like it or not. Using the brain-computer interfaces we can understand it better.

  • How can I have an english interface to labview if the package is in german

    Hi ,
I'm a student that makes a project in Germany using labview ... the problem is that my german is not that good , and the labview is in german so here is my question :
how can I have an  english interface to labview if the package is in german (labview 7 )
    Any help would be apprecieted.

The only way to really have everything in English is to install an English version of LabVIEW.  You may want to talk to your local NI sales representative about the possibility of getting a different version.

  • Comiucation computer usb with labview

    Hi
I want to communicate us computer with labviwe but I don't know how can I do it?
Can you tell me please how can I communicate between computer usb and labview?
    Thanks you .

The USB interface on the pcb has to be implemented by something. Do you have a microcontroller, or something like that? If you don't know much about USB communication, then this will be very difficult for you. In addition to the KB article I mentioned before, it would be worth your time to read this nugget: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=340676.
If you haven't implemented anything yet in hardware, you may want to consider chips like those sold by FTDI which can provide a virtual COM (serial) port interface for applications via their drivers.

  • I want to play video on my computer to make some analysis to frames, the problem that I face ,I can't change video frame rate using labview, but I can change frame rate to the video out of labview using some program

    HI All
I want to play video on my computer to make some analysis to it's frames, the problem that I face ,I can't change video frame rate using labview, but I can change frame rate to the video out of labview using some program .
I used IMAQ AVI Read Frame VI
for example I have avi video It's frame rate is 25 fbs ,my image processing code is very fast that can process more 25 fbs,so I want to accelerate video acquisition

    Hi abdelhady,
I looked into this further, and reading an AVI file into LabVIEW faster than its frames per second won't be possible. LabVIEW could read in frames faster than 25fps, but because it will be pulling the available frame at that point in time this would just give you duplicate frames. If you want to be able to read in frames at faster than 25fps, you would need to speed up your AVI file before reading into LabVIEW.
There's a good shipping example to show how to read in from an AVI file, "Read AVI File.vi". You'll notice that they add timing to make sure that the while loop runs at the right speed to match up with the frames per second of the file being read. This is to make sure you're not reading duplicate frames.

  • Can I implement advanced control algorithm with floating-point computations in Ni 7831R ?

    Hi,
I plan to use a Ni 7831R to control a MIMO nano-positioning stage with servo rate above 20kHz. The control algorithm is based on robust control design and it is much more complex than PID. it also includes floating-point caculations. Can I implement such algorithm with Ni 7831R?
By the way, is there any way to expand the FPGA gates number for Ni 7831R? Suppose I run out of the FPGA gates (1M), can I add more FPGA gates by buying some different hardware?
    Thanks

    Jingyan,
as long as there is no GPU core implemented on the FPGA these devices only support integer arithmetic. NI's FPGA targets currently don't contain a GPU core so there is no native floating point arithmetic available.
Still there are several options to implement floating point arithmetic on your own or to work around this target specific limitation. Here are some links that might help:
    Floating-Point Addition in LabVIEW FPGA
Multiplying, Dividing and Scaling in LabVIEW FPGA
The NI 7831R uses an 1M FPGA. If your application requires more gates the NI 7833R (3M) is a good solution.
    I hope that helps,

  • How many Interfaces can i implement?

How many interfaces can i implement in one class??
I have 2 different events and i want the same class to be a listener for both events generated from one class.

Around 32,000 (although the class file has a 16 bit
unsigned int for the number of interfaces, each
needs a class info and the string in the constant
pool, which is limited to 65,535 entries). So what's the runtime overhead of adding an interface?

i cann't extend a inner class in some other outer class . Where as i can implement the nested Interface in some other class. Why????
    for example:-
    class ABC
    class Inner
    /* class body */
    interface TempInterface
    /* interfacebody */
    class OuterClass
class InnerTwo extends ABC.inner //(line 1)Will give error
class InnerTwo implements ABC.TempInterface //(line 2)Will run fine
the line 1 is going to give compilation error i.e not in the scope but the line 2 will run fine .
Both of the things are in the same class but giving 2 other results.
I am not getting sufficient reasons for it.

As far as the language is concerned, the classonly
exists in the context of an instance of theenclosing
class. This still exhibits a class/object confusion to me.
It should be 'instance only exists ...' or 'instance
can only exist'. The class only exists in the
scope of the enclosing class, but this is another
issue.I'm not following what you're saying. The second sentence sounds like you're disagreeing with me. The last sentence sounds like you're agreeing with me.
A non-static nested class is an instance member, just like an instance method or instance variable. As such, as far as the language is concerned, that class only exists in the context of an instance of the enlcosing class. It's not just instances of the nested class--its the class definition itself that only exists within the context of an instance of the enclosing class. That's why you have to do anEclosingIntstance.NestedClass and can't do EnclosingClass.NestedClass.

  • Can I implement the functionality of a Schmitt trigger in LabVIEW?

I am reading in a waveform file using the Read Waveform From File.vi.  I would like some guidance as to how to implement a Schmitt trigger using LabVIEW blocks to massage the incoming waveform into a new waveform that resembles a digital data stream.
    For example:
When the amplitude of the incoming waveform goes over 0.7, the output is 1 and is latched until the amplitude falls below -0.7.
Once the amplitude of the incoming waveform falls below -0.7, the output is 0 and is latched until the amplitude exceeds 0.7.

Thanks again for the quick response.
I am having trouble with the autoindexing: I keep getting data values of 0.
I have attached a VI that I quickly threw together to show what I am doing.
Please tell me if my method/reasoning is incorrect.

  • How to implement an ActiveX server in LabVIEW

My task is to implement an ActiveX server in LabVIEW 8.0 that will be called from a data management software (DXE).
The LV server will take care of data acquisition and control.
I have been looking for tutorials and example code at the NI developer zone and elsewhere without any progress. Information is either to general or code is to old (LV 5.1) to give any help.
Please, show me to a good example of an ActiveX server in LV 8 properly commented or with attached explanations.
Alternatively, suggest any tutorial, short course or books with practical instructions.
    Specific information is most welcome.
I suppose that it is possible to write a ActiveX client in LabVIEW to verify the functions of the ActiveX server ?

Thank You. Good to know that I am on the right track.
    However,
Your sentence "If You look at the several shipping examples..." make me
little concerned. I am not able to find any example of a LV ActiveX
server in my LV 8.0 installation. I would be very grateful of You can
    send me any.
Basically you can not create your own
Active X server with your own object hierarchy and methods in LabVIEW.
LabVIEW however can export a predefined Active X server interface that
is just another access method to its internal VI server interface.
With this interface you can determine what VIs are available to
control, load specific VIs from disk if you know their path and,
execute those VIs and passing parameters to it and receiving outputs.
So if your software allows you to script the Active X access to an
Active X server in some ways such as VBA or similar you should be fine.
If your software expects a specific Active X interface you have to
implement in the server application, you are out of luck with LabVIEW,
without using an external component such as an extra Active X server
DLL that translates between the expected interface and the exported
LabIVEW interface. But this last method is quite likely not worth the
    hassle.
    Rolf Kalbermatter
While I did follow the link mentioned above and found the Interop.LabVIEW.dll that is included in the C# project for the purpose of calling VIs from C#, I am frustrated that these methods are 'buried' in a .dll that you have to go and find on the NI web site, and are not ActiveX methods that are available in an ActiveX Object that is installed when you install LV 8.20 PDS.
Rolf, I don't know that you will get this email, but are you refering to the methods inside of the Interop.LabVIEW.dll in what you are saying above, and if so, how did you become aware of this .dll?
Is anyone aware of any documentation for these ActiveX methods?
    Thanks,

  • How can I implement multi page display

    Hi,
I'm implementing a user interface which will display similar sets of data depending on the stage of the operation they are in.
I thought that the tabbed control would do where I could select the tab appropriate to the operation stage but I can't find a way of controlling the tab on display.
Is there a control that affectively display a page of controls depending on an inpute state/value.

I'm not familiar with propery nodes, can you point me to a tutorial on them.
To write a value to a control in the same VI, it is best to use a local variable. Property nodes are best used sparingly. Most of them alter the appearance of the widget on the user interface panel, and will cause an instant switch to the UI thread. This behaviour can be managed in LabVIEW 2011 (interesting discussion)

I have one remaining issue. The states that will control the tab control are text eg "Calibrate" and not numeric.
I can find a way of linking the states typedef to the tab control values.
If you create a typedef of the tab control, then all instances will have the same named pages. To add a page, alter the typedef custom control, and all instances will be updated. If you have LabVIEW 2011, a black triange will be added to the block diagram constants to show they are typedef controls.

  • How can I implement data type map?

The getString() method of java.sql.ResultSet interface is not efficient enough.
I want to map any data type to VARCHAR type, then use the getBytes() method to get the value.
    How can I implement it.
I know proc can implement it, simply set selda->T[sli] with 1 for any field.

    Hello,
What's your LabVIEW version ? Do you have a simple example program which demonstrates this behavior ?
I found another discussions related to your issues with Xcontrols:

  • Can Apple TV wake computer from sleep?

I don't think this is possible unfortunately, but maybe someone else knows better. It seems like a no-brainer to me, so Im not sure why Apple hasn't implemented this feature. It's a TOTAL waste of energy to have my Mac Pro awake all the time just so I can have immediate access to all my Apple TV content (which is obviously streamed from the Mac Pro).
Yes, I know I can walk to the computer each time I want to use Apple TV and wake it up manually, but it is at the other side of the house and to do this each time me or a member of my family wants to watch something on Apple TV, well it almost ruins the whole convenience of the product.

Your tv won't wake your mac I'm afraid.
It may seem like a waste of energy to you not allowing your mac to sleep, however constantly waking up your mac (as is very likely when used in conjunction with a tv) is likely to cause unnecessary wear to your hard drives within it and may be more costly to you in the long run than leaving it awake.

  • HELP: How to implement Model Predictive Control in LabVIEW?

    Hi, everyone
I have a problem on realizing model predictive control algorithm in LabVIEW 7.1.1.
What I have now is a linear model predictive control algorithm designed with Matlab -- Model Predictive Control Toolbox. Under simulation in SIMULINK, it works well.
Now I need to implement this algorithm with hardwares such as sensors and actuaors by LabVIEW.  Initially, I try to use the NI Simulation Interface Toolkit (SIT) 2.0 connect the simulink module with my LabVIEW interface to get the model calculation out of matlab, then send them into LabVIEW. It failed, because SIT can only help me design a simulation interface in LabVIEW based on Matlab model. Not the parrallel working mode I need. I am wondering,  does any  people here have experience dealing with the similar problems?
Thanks! Appreciate your time and help!

    Thanks Jarrod.
With your suggestion, I tried LabVIEW simulation module. It seems the Model Predictive Control (MPC) block I developed in Matlab/SIMULINK cannot be supported by LabVIEW simulation translator.
The parrallel mode means I want to use the input from DAQ card as the input for MPC block (Basically, it is just a control algorithm with I/O), and I would like to use the output from MPC block as my actuator output to external device. However, when I use Simulation Interface Toolkit to import my MPC block from Matlab to LabVIEW. It is completely sealed. I mean I cannot pull the I/O ports out from this block in LabVIEW. That is the problem where I am now.
BTW: I found there is optimization function in Simulation module of LabVIEW.  But Why I cannot find that function in my Simulation module (LabVIEW 7.1.1 + Simulation Module 1.0) ?
Do I need to upgrade my LabVIEW to 8.0, since I heard about several powerful math functions there. And I am hoping with these math tools, I could realize MPC by myself in LabVIEW.
Anyway, Thanks a lot for your help!!!
