Can I join two QT movies side-by side to create a wider (2x) clip?

I have two QT clips (640x480, same everything). Can I use QTpro to place them side-by-side and create a 1280x480 movie? I can do this from FCE/FCP but I want to see if I can from with QTpro alone and save time, hd, renderings, etc.
I know how to join one after the other but don't know where to start if the final sixe is to be double the original horizontal scale.
The purpose is to provide two recordings in one file to simplify delivery and playback for the customer.

Easy with QT Pro but it takes a few steps.
Open both files using QT Pro. Command-A (select all) and Command-C on the first movie.
Switch to the second movie, Command-A and then use "Add to Selection & Scale".
Open the Movie Properties window (Command-J) and you'll see all the movie parts. Highlight the first video track and click the "Visual Settings" tab.
Set the "Offset" to 640 X 0 pixels and the videos will now be side by side.
You can also delete the extra sound track.
Use Save As to create a new file (leaving your originals untouched) and save as self-contained.

How can i join two libraries from two different users

how can i join two libraries from two different users in the same computer?

I should add that you can turn on SHARING where each user can see the other user's library and play stuff out of it. But they can not import those tracks to their own library or put them into their own playlists or burn CDs of the shared library.
Also note, to do this you need to have the fast switching option enabled with the accounts so both can be running at the same time and both must have iTunes running at the same time.

How to join two MP4 movies with iMovie '11?

Just after a quick bit of help here. I'm not a movie making enthusiast so never used iMovie before and never will again most likely. However I do have 2 mp4 movies about 4 minutes each that I SIMPLY want to join together.
I've searched and seen reference to dragging the fils into a project then just export as one but for the life of me if import the files I can't seem to find anywhere that provides a view of the two files as thumbnails so I can just drag them to say this one first, this one second. Join please. I seem to get streams and streams of individual frames with sliding lines and what not and the best I seem to be able to get is about 4 seconds at a time. Surely ther MUST be an easy way to just join two movies together without going into advanced frame by frame editing.
It's not the most intuitive piece of software and I don't have any desire to learn it. Problem is I am in a **** of rush with this and at the end of a 14 hour image managament day which is making me less than patient with iMovie.

QuickTime X can join your two files. Edit menu "Add Clip to End..."

Can you join two DSO's?

We have tried joining two DSO's and are getting the warning that "more than one datasource has been used in this report". It appears that the DSO driver does not support joins. The report runs but it is VERY slow, the same sort of performance you get when you try to join data from two datasources that are actually different (like two different SQL Server databases or an Oracle table joined to a SQL Server table). It appears that this is not a supported function with the DSO driver. Any thoughts?

Yes, we have created the joins between the two DSOs. We are looking into using the Open SQL driver to go against the base tables to see if that will work. This is how the original ODS driver used to work.
Update: After changing the join type to a left outer join the performance improved signficantly. Although not ideal it looks like it will be fine for our requirements. This particular report will be run monthly and scheduled to run overnight.

You can do this a number of ways. You can use an inner join in your select statement and put the required data into an internal table or you can do two selects from the db and loop at the first itab, then loop at the second where the keys match and put the required data into a third internal table.
Here is an example of using an inner joine to get data from db tables into one internal table.

The answer is no, sorry both probably good machines but simply don't have the ability .However if you want to improve performance on them the best upgrade you can do is to increase the RAM. Both machines will accommodate up to 6GB of RAM and make the user experience much more pleasurable. You can buy RAM upgrades from reputable sources such as Crucial or OWC (www.macsales.com.)

If you are using a Linux machine, you can use a command-line tool called AVIMerge.
I recently used it for joining individually submitted segments of a film like so:
avimerge -o InstrumentalityPart2.avi -i 01.avi 02.avi 03.avi 04.avi 05.avi 06.avi
There's also a way to do it in MPlayer/MEncoder using stream copying and rebuilding the index, but AVIMerge is easier to use.
Two caveats:
- AVIMerge isn't included in the out-of-box install of most distros, so you'll probably have to download and install a copy before you can use it.
- The AVI files you are joining have to have the same format (in the PAL vs. NTSC sense of resolution and FPS), and (I believe) the same encoding (as in "XviD with a constant Q of 2, a keyframe interval of 92...."). Basically, it only works properly if all of the videos you are joining were encoded the same way, with the same tools, and in the same format. This means that, if your individual video segments are in different formats or encodings, it's best to obtain the highest-quality copies possibe, as the re-encoding process will inevitably result in a loss of quality (though careful selection of filtering parameters can minimize some of this effect for certain types of footage).
I don't know of any Java tools that do the same thing, and am unsure of whether your goal is just to join a bunch of AVI files, or to make a JAVA app that, among other things, can join a bunch of AVI files. I do know that there is a way to use the "Runtime" object to call command-line programs from Java and wait until they terminate - which could allow you to make a Java wrapper for a program like AVIMerge or MPlayer/MEncoder.
Unfortunately, all of this is pretty much useless on Windows machines (though it might work on Mac OSX, I'm not sure).

Say I have a project (A). And a second project (B). A third project (C). Each with their own music photos, etc.
Is there a way to create a new project and import A, B, C.
So the movie that is rendered will be A, B, and C playing smoothly as one giant movie.... so there is a semeless transition of A to B to C.
The reason for asking is I want to create a large movie.... but I want to put together in sections (individual projects) ... then join the sections together (one new large project).

No sir, I do not have FCPX. And it doesn't support my graphics card. I think I missed it by only one "level". I would have to buy a new iMac. And add to that an optical drive!!! Oh, and then there're my USB 2.0/FireWire drives. I guess the USB would work, but it wouldn't run at USB 3.0 speed.
I think I'll make due with iMovie 9.0.4 for now. I can manage, but of course I welcome any tips to make things easier! I'd like to get iMovie 9.0.8, or whatever the latest is -- IF it would have some useful-to-me bug fixes and not break anything I currently have. I don't want to do a semi-non-reversable upgrade from 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion just to find out that iMovie 9.0.8 breaks something! Is it really asking to much for Apple to provide a comprehensive list of bug fixes, like DEC, Compaq, and now hp do with their VMS operation system? (I assume hp still does. I haven't upgraded a VMS system in years, so I'd have to check.)
Fortunately, at least for current projects, I have very few titles and transitions. Hmmm, I just remembered. My movie "Silent Quake" has transtions, and I didn't have any trouble copying them. You know what? I might have done my experiment copying from a 24 fps to a 30 fps project. Yes, that must be it. It seems that nothing comes over right when you do that. . . . OK, transitions are okay when not changing the frame rate.
As far as converting to a different frame rate goes, I'm doing it. Here's what it takes (approx. 14 minutes, 45 video clips plus titles and one transition):
Plan to make 30 fps VFT
Document 24 fps version
    For each clip
        Take screenshot of the first frame
        Take screenshot of the last frame
        Get speed
        Get duration
        Take notes about what got cropped
        Write down color correction parameters (Or I could copy and paste, but that involves the old back-and-forth bit. Hey, can't write down the color correction params in FCPX, right?! Yes, FCPX color correction has more capabilities than iMovie's.)
Build the 30 fps version
    Create a 30 fps project
    Copy single clip of the raw footage to the project
    Split the footage at each clip's first frame.
    Make cuts so that the last frame of each clip is correct.
    Copy music over
    Sync with music
    Adjust the speeds
    Adjust the durations
    Apply cropping
    Apply color correction
So far I've done the following:
VFT D-3 16 24 fps version
VFT E 0     30 fps version (copied the single big clip from the Event Browser to a new blank project.)
VFT E 1        first-frame cuts applied except very first
VFT E 2        last-frame cuts applied
Well, I still have to document the 24 fps version from Get Speed and forward.
As far as titles go, my current set of movies all have original titles shot in Super 8. Only my "Visuals for Timesteps" movie doesn't. I presently have 5 titles for that, so it's not real bad. And I still have to go back and forth between the projects once in a while.

They were on my computer but when I play them they are different movies. I don't know what bill they were in (How do I search 5 years worth worth of bills anyway?).
How can I find/restore these?

Do they show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page ? If they do, but they don't have the cloud symbol against, then do you still have them listed in the TV Shows part of your library ? If you do then try deleting them from there and they should then get the cloud symbol in Purchased for redownloading.
If you aren't in a country where TV programmes can be redownloaded, or you are but they are no longer in your country's store, then you won't be able to redownload them, you will need to copy them back from your backup of your library/downloads that you should be keeping and maintaining.

Can't join two images using imagetoimage

Well I have spent a good portion of my weekend trying to get this VI to work and I am oficially out of ideas...
I'm using DataSockets to extract images from the web and I'm trying to join these two images using the ImageToImage function of IMAQ.
The images are extracted just fine but when I try to join them all I get is the first image!!!
What am I doing wrong????
My VI is attached.
Some test considerations:
To extract the images be sure to add [text] to the end of the html line
This VI only works with http and not https (DATASOCKET limitations)

As previously stated you options depend on your Oracle version and platform and the target version and platform for the remote non-Oracle (well in this case mySQL) database.
Oracle replaced HS or Generic Connectiivy with a new name and support module on 11g and maybe in 10g. You can see your manual CD or check the online documentation.
For that matter you need to check to see if the Transparent Gateway product has a mySQL driver.

You'll have to be more specific.
IF you are talking about two partitions that were set up through Boot Camp Assistant and you want to remove windows and go back to one partition, then simply run Boot Camp Assistant again and choose the option to reunite the partitions.
IF you are talking about two Mac, HFS+ partitions, there is no easy way to do it. The only solution would be to make a backup (easiest by making an image in Disk Utility), and then repartitioning both drives as one, then restoring from the backup image.
Partitioning is usually a "final" process that cannot be reversed; boot camp is one exception.
