Can I mass-convert topics to framesets?

We want to change our online help to have a left nav panel and are researching using framesets to accomplish this. So far, we like what we see in our prototypes. If we decide we want to go with framesets, we are wondering if there is a way to do some sort of automated process to convert a bunch of topics into framesets. If we have to convert each topic to a frameset, one by one, well, that would be too much to handle as we have thousands of topics.

Your post is making me wonder if you totally understand how framesets work. I say this because normally there isn't anything you do to topics that says "Hey, I should be inside a frame of a frameset!". Instead, you reference the topics from the navigation topic that appears in the other frame.
For example, say you have topics A B and C that will appear in the frameset.
So when you click the link for Topic A, it simply instructs the browser to display Topic A in the proper frame of the frameset.
Same for Topic B and for Topic C.
So all the instruction as to where the topic appears is in the link within the Navigation pane of the frameset, not the topic that is presented in the frame.
Does this make more sense?

The question is, I have been using Appleworks/Clarisworks for years for my business. Would like to save that history before moving to Lion. I know you can convert the files individually from .cwk file to pages, but I have nearly 6,000 files to convert.

TS1409 How do I mass convert all my videos in iTunes From FLV to MP4?!!

My problem is a simple one that YOU will, sooner or later, face---else you already faced it. It is the DREADED mixed media from You Tube. HOW DO I MASS CONVERT MY ITUNES FLV VIDEOS TO MP4 VIDEOS. If MP4 will play Video & Audio---why do I need FLV files?
1. I have an old APLINE IDA-X001 Digital Automobile Receiver that I have ported my iPOD Classic to via their Alpine Proprietary High Speed USB2 Cable.
2. I have 800+ You Tube music videos from the 80s (what can I say, WE ARE ALL ENTOMBED IN THE MUSIC OF OUR YOUTH and I am a couple of months older than Steve Jobs---Double Nickel or should I say YEAR ZERO of our lord Rock & Roll!!!). When driving, I just want to hear the Audio Files from my iPOD.
3. 90% of said You Tube videos are in Flash Video (FLV), 10% are MP4.
4. You can only play FLV on outputs that have videos, MP4 videos can play in video mode else audio only mode---THEREFORE I NEED TO CONVERT all my FLVs to MP4s on my iPOD Classic (160GB).
5. Yes, there are a handful of FREE Video Converter programs out there and the one I have AV8 will convert FLV to MP4 one file at a time...drip,drip,drip!!!
6. I have 800+ Music Videos---I will have died from old age before my iPod is filled.
7. My DESIRED END STATE is to flip a software switch and have all my iPOD FLV videos magically convert to MP4
8. You Tube Download Modality: I find a song I like and Download it to RealPlayer. Once downloaded, I PAINFULLY convert it to Ipod (can't do more than 9 songs at a time). Once in iTunes, I sync it to my iPOD classic and bam---my videos are in my my iPOD.
9. Currently, the only songs that play on my iPOD are those I've purchased from iTunes.
10. Whudda I Do? The Apple Tech guys haven't a clue. Also. If I can only do it manually (I've got movies mixed in as well), how do I set up an MP4 folder and then only transfer that folder on to my iPOD?!!!

The sync process for iTunes content and photos transferred from your computer to the iPhone is in one direction only and can be synced with iTunes on one computer only.
iTunes includes an option to transfer content purchased from the iTunes Store only from an iPod or iPhone - not for content acquired elsewhere that was transferred from iTunes to your iPhone.
You need to transfer your iTunes library from your Windows PC to your Mac.

New tool script to mass convert .flv to .avi files

Just wanted to advertise the availability of a little bash script I wrote that will mass convert all .flv files to x264 encoded .avi files in a given directory with a single command. This is useful for example if you you use have a number of youtube videos you wish to convert to x264 encoded video in the .avi container for playback later.
I found the original script written by 3ED_0 in the AUR here which I adapted to run without arguments. As such, it can be run on an entire directory of .flv files without user interaction. It does this making use of mediainfo to determine the video and audio bitrates from the original files to pass on to the new files, and by some simple bash commands to handle filenames.
Comments are welcome.

In QuickTime Player
Open the file
Window menu > Show movie info
Look in the Format: field
Note that QuickTime Player may fail to display any audio information for some files.
In MPlayer OSX
Show the playlist window if it isn't already visible.
Drag the movie file into the playlist window.
Select the movie in the list
Click the "i" button for info
In VLC
Open the movie in VLC
Window menu > Info
Click the black triangles so that they point down
Note that VLC does not display the file format, only the format of the content (audio and video) within the file. A file ending in .divx for instance, is probably in actuality an avi file but VLC doesn't show that information - MPlayer will and QuickTime Player will - if - QuickTime Player will open the file to begin with.

Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

I updated to Acrobat XI PRO recently, but now i'm unable to combine or convert microsoft word docs to PDF.
In Adobe Acrobat X I had this feature below, and it would combine Microsoft Office Documents all into a single PDF. Now I no longer have this issue in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. It seems like it was program named Adobe Elements that was running the conversion.

CF9 Problems with Select * query, resulting in Value can not be converted to requested type.

So, I work on a legacy CF web site and there are numerous SELECT * FROM USERS_TABLE queries all over the site.
Well, we changed the structure of said table in the database on our Testing and Staging sites, with no issues.
When we pushed up to our production environment and changed the structure of the production DB table, the server kept kicking back "Value can not be converted to requested type."
After doing some searching out there, it looks like CF caches the structure of the table, and you either have to restart CF to clear it, or rename and then name-back the DSN to fix the issue.

That said, this doesn't happen in our testing and staging environments - so what would be the difference?

Also, if you can use a Stored Procedure to retrieve the data, do so. Standard queries gets all the information, anyway, chokes bandwidth passing it all to the CF server, and forces the CF server to filter, sort, and format the data. SPs tell the db server to get ONLY the data requested, and forces the db server to filter and sort the data, leaving only formatting to the CF server.
That's not true. The only time CF messes with data returned from the DB is if there's a maxrows attribute, and the record set returnded from the DB has more than that number of records... which causes CF to truncate the recordset to the correct size before returning it. The DB might or might not stop sending rows down to CF after CF says "yeah, I've got all I want now".
Other than that, for all intents and purposes all CF does with the SQL is pass it to the DB and wait for an answer. The only thing it does to the returned data is to create a CF record set ("query") with it... this does not involve any filtering and sorting.

This is not a feature of Adobe Reader. You'll need either Acrobat or a subscription to one of the web-based services that Adobe offers (like PDF Pack) to do it.

"GWCommanderClass can't get converted into GWCommanderClass"

I'm using a mix of C3PO & GW Token API. My language is C# and the Program is made for archiving into different archive storage systems.
Here my Error Message in German: 'Das Objekt des Typs "GroupWiseCommander.GWCommanderClass" kann nicht in Typ "GroupWiseCommander.GWCommanderClass" umgewandelt werden.'
Translated: 'The object of the type "GroupWiseCommander.GWCommanderClass" can't be converted into "GroupWiseCommander.GWCommanderClass".'
I got a C3PO which is using token API (GWCommander) to:
a) save the mail in mime format on the harddrive (ItemSaveMessage)
b) get the current logged in username (EnvUserID(1;0);)
My Program is first calling the ItemSaveMessage GW token from within the C3PO. Afterwards, it loads a archive dll which will do something with the eml file on the archive storage. The loaded dll is using another gwcommanderclass object to execute the EnvUserID token.
So, I got 1 commander object in my c3po dll and one commander object in a seperate dll which we replace, depending on the connected systems.
I heard, that it's recommended to free the gw commander object as soon as possible. So I set the gwcommander object to "null", directly after using it. But I still receive this weird error.
This behaviour is not 100% reproduceable.
One time it works fine with 10 tries and no error during the archiving process.
Sometimes I get this error after I archived the first item.
Thanks in advance for any kind of help/hint, regarding this issue.

Problem solved: I just moved the Commander Object code from the C3PO Dll into the second DLL.
