Can I no longer backup my Itunes library to a dvdr since I have Itunes 10.5?  If not can I somehow revert back to a previous version of Itunes to do this?

Can I no longer backup my Itunes library to a dvd+r?  If not, is there a way to revert back to a previous version of Itunes like 10.3?

Will this work?
Yes, but it can't be done from within iTunes. Choose to consolidate it from the Library section of the File menu, and then move the iTunes folder to the drive.
I could try to backup to CD-R, but one of my albums is 708.6 MB big, which is too big to fit on one CD-R.
That will work. Unless a single song or video is too large to fit on a CD, iTunes can back it up to a CD.

  • How can I revert back to an earlier version of Itunes?

I installed the newest version and it took EVERYTHING off my hard drive. A lot of it is crap I don't want on there. Can I revert back to an earlier version of Itunes that only has whats on my Ipod? I tried system restore and had no luck. Thanks

If your disk was wiped, presumable you will not need to worry about the library as a new blank library will be created.

  • My Ipod Classic (160G) no longer synchs completely with iTunes (93G).  Have reset and restored to no avail.  AM about to try roll back to a previous version of iTunes, which has been on auto update.

My iPod Classic (160G) used to sync flawlessly with iTunes (93G).
Recently, there seem to be fewer folders syncing.  In particular, it is not syncing more recent adds.  It also occassionally refuses to sync at least one mp3 downloaded from  Amazon.com, giving an unable to sync message with an error code or 50.
I'm running iTunes version 10.7, and the software (2.04) on myiPod is current.
I only use the iPod for music.  I have only one playlist.
Reset and restore did not fix the problem; I'm considering rolling back to a previous version of iTunes.  Are there any other  ideas to consider?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,

iTunes and its sync process with your iPod have been know to choke once the amount of data that needs to be transferred, replaced, or updated, reaches a certain size limit in GBs.

  • Ever since the most recent firefox update, every time I try to download anything firefox stops responding and will not do anything until I restart it. Can I revert back to a previous version, or is there a fix for it?

Every time I try to download anything firefox stops responding and will not do anything until I restart it. Can I revert back to a previous version, or is there a fix for it? When I restart firefox, then the download continues and all is well until I try to download something new (which I do quite often).

  • I  have been having nothing but trouble with OS 10.6.8.  Many of my appliatins will not work..  HOw can I revert back to a previous version of OS x?

I  have been having nothing but trouble with OS 10.6.8.  Many of my applications will not work..  HOw can I revert back to a previous version of OS x?

Before you revert anything try this:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Next time don't post something like "nothing but trouble." Tell us exactly what the trouble is and provide any additional information such as error messages.

  • How can I revert back to my old version of itunes without deleting my data?

Ever sence I upgrated to the 10.6.7.1, I can't go into the store! I literally tried everything. So only choice is to delete the new itunes and revert back to the 10.4 version. But I don't want to risk getting all my music, movies, pictures,tv shows, pretty much everything get deleted off my ipod. I heard about backing up my files. Someone, anybody, PLEASE help, I'm this close to smashing my computer to pieces if I don't get an answer or a solution.

To clarify things,  if you have LifeCycleManager also called LCM and use versioning, you can revert changes.
Howver,  if you edit a report in a higher patch level then go back to a previous patch level you may face unexpected behavior like sudden crash, document corruption that in the worst cases manifests after a long time.
Therefore the best practices are to use LCM and/or perform systematic backups plus exceptional backups when major changes occur.

  • Can I roll back to a previous version of iTunes?

I just downloaded all my updates, one of which updated my iTunes, and now it is not working properly. Mine too is skipping during certain songs in my library. Also, if I just close the window, and come back to it later the screen has fragmented, and looks like white noise with the impression of several different windows on its face. This seems like some kind of conflict. I downloaded the package containing 6.0.5 intending to install it, and remove the new version, but it will not let me install it. Please help

Did you uninstall the existing version and then restart before you installed the new version?
You can download old versions of iTunes here: Mac | Windows.

  • I recently updated to the new iTunes and I do not like it at all. Is there a way I can revert back to the previous version?

Is there a way to revert back to an older verison of itunes

If you have got a backup, press Command and R keys in boot and restore an old backup. You can install Snow Leopard and upgrade to Lion if you haven't got the backup

  • After updating to the new browser, my password managing program could not work any longer. I had to go back to the previous version but was wondering when this can be fixed?

RoboForm password manager stopped working when I updated to the latest version of Firefox. I will contact them as well but I am using rf version 6 and would have to pay (again) to update that program to version 7. This is a vital program because I use a lot of different sites and really would like to continue to use with the Firefox browser.

Thanks for your help.  I had already done the "forget this device" but had forgotten about the part of entering the passcode with the keyboard in order to pair.  I found my instruction sheet after I posted my cry for help and when I did the pairing procedure right, it worked.  It's weird that it decided to unpair itself.  Both my husband and our daughter have the same keyboard and neither of them have had this happen.  At least now I know what to do if it happens in the future.

  • I have a iPad 2. My husband set it up with his name and account. I want to delete him from my iPad. I can't download anything with out it asking for his password. I have my own account now. But it still reverts back to him when I want to update my stuff.

I have an iPad 2 which my husband set up. He set it all up in his name and passwords. I have since gotten my own user I'd and password, however, it i need to update,or anything else, it still comes up with his name. I don't have a clue how to get rid of all his stuff. Please help me to delete him completely. ????thanks you

Restore the device and set it up as new.
Either plug it into itunes and select restore under the summary tab, or (post ios5) go into settings, general, reset, erase all content and data. When either asks to save a backup, you dont have to....hit No etc..
This will bring the ipad to the start screen like you just bought it and erase everything.

  • Can I revert back to the previous version? Where can I d/l it?

    See subject.

It may be possible that the firmware update did not take properly. You can either try reinstalling it or, if you prefer, downgrading the firmware. The following Apple Support Article provides the details.

  • How can I revert to a previous version of iTunes - v11.1.0.126 is terrible!

Hi there, I've seen this asked on these forums but haven't seen an answer... maybe there isn't one. I really need to revert back to an older version of iTunes from 11.1.0.126. The most recent version has so many problems (and no real improvement from the older version) that I've come to the conclusion rather than solving each of them one by one (and I've had no luck with any of that so far!), it would be easier to go back to the previous release. Is this possible?

Also, if I can do that without destroying my library and files, it would be great!!

  • Videos not playing in iTunes 7, where can I get previous version of iTunes

Since "upgrading" to iTunes 7, I can't get any of my videos to play in iTunes--they show up but nothing happens when I try to play them. This includes videos I bought via iTunes and DVDs I imported using Handbrake. I didn't upgrade to Quicktime 7 because I was afraid it would cause even more problems for the movies spent hours importing. So I have two questions:
    (1) If I get the upgrade to Quicktime 7, will that allow my videos to play?
    (2) If not, how can I revert back to the earlier version of iTunes? I have tried searching the forums and have found some information about how to remove iTunes 7, but can't find where to download the previous version (would that be 6.05--I can't remember).
    Please help! Thanks.

Never mind. I found iTunes 6.05 in the Downloads section of the Apple page. Now I'm back, thank God.
