Can I remove a running subpanel VI?

I have seen examples of inserting VIs into a subpanel, but when inserting a new VI, the code always removes the current VI and aborts it.
Is there a way to "swap out" a VI for another but keep it running in the background?

When you insert a sub vi into your sub panel generally it won't run you have to invoke a run method to run that vi and the same way it won't abort the vi. But generally we use to stop the vi using the set control value method because when you try to insert the same vi again it will give you an error. The sub panel will only insert a vi which is not running.
I'm getting the "VI in the wrong state" error when I try to swap two VIs back and forth. It only works the first time the VI is inserted into the subpanel (unless it's stopped). I was hoping I could swap VIs in and out of the subpanel while they continue to run. I have a bunch of clone VIs that the user wants to display. I wanted a method of keeping the screen size down to something reasonable.

  • Can I remove J2SE Run. Env. 5.0 up6 from my PC now that I have Java 6 up11?

    Hey guy's, I'm new to Java... I just have it because I know it helps run alot of stuff on PC's today... Anyway, my story is:
    I recently updated my LimeWire that I paid for to the new version and it would just freeze and never open up from it's begining stage. Anyway I researched on it and found that it was my Java Version (J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 6 ) which I don't know what any of that means... did not support the new LimeWire Version... So I down-loaded ( Java 6 update 11 ) and now my LimeWire works fine... Even though I lost all my files on LimeWire while updating, lucky for me I had a back-up...
    My question is:
    In my Add or Remove Programs list, I can see both in there: 1.) J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 6 which is 152.00 MB & 2.) Java 6 update 11 which is only 94.38 MB and it's the New one I down-loaded...
    CAN I REMOVE THE J2SE RUNTIME ENVIROMENT 5.0 UPDATE 6 OUT OF MY COMPUTER OR IS IT ATTACHED TO PROGRAMS OR STUFF THAT I'M NOT AWARE OF??? DO I NEED IT??? I HAVE THE NEW ONE ABOVE... WILL IT HARM ANYTHING???
    Thank you Guy's or/and ladies...
    Looking forward for the help...

    Java versions are independent of one another and can be installed and removed separately. Other Java versions won't be affected.
    What may be affected are Java applications (like Limewire) that require a certain Java version - yes, some applications are written so that they'll run only with a certan version of Java, most are not. Since we don't know what's installed in your computer, we obviously can't say whether removal of a given version will cause one of your programs to malfunction or stop working.

  • Unlucky recepient of the Troj/JSDldr-V "iTunes" trojan (turns itunes German, for starters). I have perused forums for how to remove the trojan nd cannot find anything for Mac (Sophos found, can't remove). Running a 2011 late model Macbook Pro 10.9.5

    Hi! I was the unlucky recipient of the Troj/JSDldr-V "iTunes" trojan (turns itunes German, for starters). It arrived via a FedEx email that was in my Spam folder and somehow unleashed when I moved Spam to trash. (I saw a fake itunes update, clicked the red circle to close which might have been the trigger). Anyhoo, I am perplexed as to how to remove. My Sophos found it and isolated it afterwards, but has been unable to remove it as iTunes is already compromised - and everything being in German or faux German, I'm not about to enter any info as it cleverly prompts for admin user name and password. Sneaky buggers! I have perused forums and found it is likely spyware, but have been unsuccessful at finding how to remove for Mac (Sophos found threat, can't remove it). Running a 2011 late model Macbook Pro, 10.9.5. Any support would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm broke (as in homeless broke) and even if I had money, the nearest Apple store is a five hour drive away - a tad inconvenient and inaccessible. :-(  Karma points for helping, though! And I always pay it forward!

  • N95-can't remove .sis from SD

    Hi all,
    my beauty, N95, gives me pure and real satisfaction but also plays me hard (pretty much like all the beauties I know...)
    First issue: have installed to SD two .sis files (games) and after upgrating to 12, I can't REMOVE nor RUN them. Should I just format SD (after backing up of course)?
    Second issue: many themes to SD again, they appear in the themes menu but don't seem to exist (except for 3 or 4 out of 35) in the app. manager. This results in a)can't remove the ones that don't appear and b)out of curiosity,...where are they????!!!
    Say woman, WHAT DO YOU NEED?

    Hi adorminach
    I am a little confused here, did you backup to microSD before update and then restore to phone memory afterwards/
    Did you restore factory settings *#7370# as advised in NSU FAQ after update?

  • How can I remove a file on server w/ my JSP app running on Tomcat 7 ?

    First of all, I'm posting here because I found it the closest to java web development in the forums listing.
    How can I remove a file on the server side with my JSP app running on Tomcat 7 ? I did it in a JSE app by changing permissions, but how can I do it for a simple JSP app ?
    My code is
    public static void excluirArquivos(String nomeArquivoExcluido) {
              File arquivoExcluido = new File (nomeArquivoExcluido);
              arquivoExcluido.setWritable(true, true);
              SecurityManager sm = new SecurityManager();
              try {
                   sm.checkDelete(arquivoExcluido.getAbsolutePath());
                   System.gc();
                   if (arquivoExcluido.delete()) System.out.println("File '" + nomeArquivoExcluido + "' successfully removed.");
                   else System.out.println("File '" + nomeArquivoExcluido + "' wasn't removed somehow.");
              } catch (SecurityException se) {
                   System.out.println("File '" + nomeArquivoExcluido + "' can't be excluded. There is no permissions.");
         }And it always falls on the catch statement.

    2. make sure the file is in fact not locked (for example, opened by another process)
    3. use File.delete()
    There is no guarantee that you can delete a file, you can only make an attempt. There can be any number of reasons, most if not all of them not related to code, that the deletion of a file does not work.

  • HT1923 hi, my mac air is really low on disk space, can i remove iTunes (which is huge) to an external hard drive to free up space and then just run it from the hard drive. instead of taking space on the mac? even if the mac no longer has enough to accommo

    Hi, my mac air is really low on disk space, can I remove itunes (which is huge) to an external hard drive to free up space?...and then run it from the hard drive instead of the mac,even if the mac no longer has space to accomodate the size of the library?

    Yes.
    Copy your music iTunes Library folder to the external drive and change the Advanced settings in iTunes to point to this new location.
    Once you're happy with these changes you can delete the same Library from your User account to free up space on the internal drive.

  • Can't run and can't remove iTunes

    My musics is gone off my drive. I can't open iTunes nor can I remove iTunes from my system. I get this error in both cases, and then it produced a fatal error and closes.
    "The folder path 'My Music' contains an invalid character"
    I tried opening properties and changing the path back to the drive where my music was. It's a 600 GB drive and my music/videos/everything iTunes related is gone. I can open the drive and it has nothing on it. Where did my music disappear to? None of my other drives are big enough for my collection.
    I'm ready to scream!!!

    I upgraded my 2007 iMac (20") to Maverick. Should never have done this! Lost mail, lost my mail archive, lost numerous programs/applications, lost all my installed hardware, spend 4 days on getting it running again with the (supreme) help of Apple Care. However it should not have happened at all!
    iMac Computers with less than 4Gb of internal memory (as explained by Apple Care), or less than (estimated) 150Gb of free disc-space should not upgrade! Simple as that and the App Store should warn you about that and not simply let you pick up your free copy of Maverick!

  • How can I remove a tablet device that isn't there?

    In one of our test environments we've got an Xserve running OSX 10.5.6, inside is running Server 10.5 in VMWare Fusion.
    Now, the VM thinks it has a tablet device installed, as is evidenced by the ink tab showing up in system preferences (the host does not have the ink option there). Obviously there is no tablet device installed. The VM was set up by one of our IT guys who has already reinstalled it, noting no options during setup about a tablet device.
    This problem is causing one piece of software to not work in the VM, or at least, the UI doesn't. There are thousands of console messages reading "QCocoaView handleTabletEvent: This tablet device is unknown (received no proximity event for it). Discarding event"
    Question is, how can I remove the tablet device so that this software will start working? I've checked all through VMWare Fusion's options/preferences & couldn't find anything there and Googling has turned up nothing so far.

    Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
    Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
    After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
    If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
    Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    I stopped in to see one of the genius at the local store who referred me to "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable" (I am trying to install it on a Windows XP System)
    The last version on iTunes on my PC was iTunes 7.

    (If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

    How does one remove temporary files from Safari?  A friend logged on to her Facebook account using my iMac running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and Safari 6.1.6.  Now I can't remove her e-mail address from my computer.  When I open Facebook her address shows in the user button.  I do not have a Facebook account.  It was suggested to me that I try clearing temporary files from Safari but I can't find anything that tells me how to do this.  Are temporary files the same as the cache?  It also was suggested that I try clearing Safari cache.  How do I do that?

    Check Safari/Preferences/Passwords to see if the Facebook account is there. If so, select it and remove it. If you are still having problems, Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari.

  • How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only?

    How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only, which have a different user with a separate Apple ID?

    You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
    Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
