I connected to my computer to back up and update my iOS. At the time I connected to my computer, it also said I needed to update my itunes. So, I updated itunes, then went ahead with downloading and installing the updated iOS. It says that my last back up was today, and now my only option is to restore to factory settings. My concern is being able to get back all of my info. Now, it shows a screen on my iphone with a USB cable and and arrow to the itunes icon.

I never had this problem, but just noticed it happening.. Please note it's a BUG. I went out and bought a 128GB iPhone just to hold all my songs. It wouldn't work. This never happened with the iPhone 3/3s/4/5/5s but started happening with the iPhone 6. After 40 hours of working through all possible solutions on the web and with Apple cares support (supposedly senior level) They finally suggested what the problem was. I had "Convert higher bit songs to 128 aac" Checked. This does not work One more thing when I unchecked that, the sync took like 3.5 hours instead of the 9-12 hours is usually took even on the smaller iphones. I have 98.7GB of music. Before I was just syncing a list of specific songs.
The syncing seems to be random when it has the problem though.

I would use a program like iExplorer to perusue your backups.
1. Search for iExplorer, download it, install it.
2. Plug in your phone
3. Click continue with Demo on the lower right
4. On the left side panel select "Browse iTunes Backups"
5. From here select the iOS device and then click Messages... now you can look through your messages..buying iExplorer will allow you to search your messages.
Also, check out DiskAid, I believe it will let you look through your backups and search may work without purchasing, just understand that both programs will have some limitation in demo mode.

How can I retrieve my iPod Touch information after I restore it?

A couple of months ago my computer crashed and on that computer was my itunes (which contained everything that I have on my iPod Touch, over 150 purchased songs, a couple of purchased apps aswell as purchased movies, tv shows and music videos). I immediately thought that this wouldn't be a problem, because I could purchase more stuff via the itunes and app store on my iPod. However, a couple of days ago my Safari kept crashing after about 5 minutes of use and subsequently the rest of my apps started doing the same. I then decicded to check if any other iPod Touch users were experiencing the same problems (which they did) and read that the only solution would be for me to restore my iPod. Now I am worried that if I restore my iPod, which seems to be the only option, I will lose all of my data.
If anyone knows any possible way that I could either transfer my information onto my new computer and then restore it or any other solution to my problem. Any and every advice that is posted is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
*Also, if this helps, I haven't updated my iPod touch yet in the same fear of losing my data.

- Make a backup by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup. This will also update the iOS.

Itunes wont detect iphone after factory restore

hello, i had to restore my iphone to factory settings because all my apps would not open. Has been doing this for awhile now. I did the restore, and now when i turn it on,it has an itunes logo and the connect wire shown. Itunes doesnt even detect that my iphone is there. I want to restore from backup, but it wouldnt let me so i had to do the whole restore. What do i need to do to get itunes to detect my iphone? i have lots of data that i cant lose.

Ok ... I found the solution. If you view the driver details for the iPhone when plugged in, you will see (at least in my case) that the iPhone is using Microsoft Drivers, not Apple ... this apparently was the issue.
To fix, I downloaded the latest iTunes, I then -extracted- (not installed) the file ... then within the extracted items, there were more .msi files, I extracted all these also.
After extracting, view your iPhone in device manager, click properties, then driver ... update the driver, when asked choose to Browse for folder. Choose the parent folder that you extracted all items to ... Windows should now discover the correct iPhone driver and install.
Don't know if that will work for everyone or not, but it seemed to do it for me.

I have been backing up my files with Time Machine on to a Western Digital Network HD on my Home Network. If i do a final back up and then Install a clean copy of OSX Lion [Format My system HD], will I be able to restore my personal files using time machine back up I have on my Network HD?

There is no such thing as an unlock code. Only the carrier it is locked to can unlock it.
If the phone you got replaced was hacked to unlock it instead of legitimately unlocked, then you will have to contact the carrier the original phone was locked to.
If your phone was legitimately unlocked, then contact the Apple Store where you had the phone replaced.

Did you restore your iCloud backup? That should recover camera roll photos.

Unfortunately no. The only way the phone backs up is if you make it back up. You either connect to iTunes and backup and sync, or you set it up for a wifi sync to iCloud. But you have to setup iCloud to start with. You have learned a hard lesson on how to make sure you import pictures on a regular basis like you would the digital camera. When things happen to the phone, this is the media that is lost the most (pictures in camera roll). After taking a number of pictures, and especially ones you consider important, you should connect the phone to the computer and import them, so there is a backup copy on the computer.
Contacts are saved in the backup as well, however they are really designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer, or backed up to iCloud or other cloud service. The photos could have gone a couple of different places ...but it is unlikely that they are lost forever. It kind of depends how your Backup was done. With many Computer-based iTunes connections, your Computer Photo App will actually open first when you connect your iPhone and the photo transfer will happen between the iPhone and the App. Assuming that isn't what happened in your case, but you did Backup on iTunes, you could reconnect to iTunes and then click on your iPhone button on the Computer screen ...typically the iTunes Summary screen will show up ...but you can tab-through the various iTunes Screens and find the Photo page. You could check your options and see if you have a Manual Sync setting regarding iTunes to iPhoone ...this would mean you have to select the Photos you want to download to the iPhone during the Sync.
