Can I sync using aliases?

I have a huge library of photos, and I'd like to sync just part of them. In iPhoto I have them set up in a bunch of different libraries, so I can't sync using iPhoto because it only syncs the library that's currently active. If I sync folders, then it includes everything in the folder, which I don't want.
Can I create a folder of aliases and sync that? That way I could organizer things differently for Apple TV without having to duplicate many GBs of files.

Sorry I wasn't aware you didn't have an tv, I use iphoto so I can't really test the alias approach for you, maybe some one who uses folders might be able to clear things up for us.
Also wondering why you have multiple libraries in iphoto.
A symlink is a little bit more than an alias, it should work in instances that an alias won't. You can set up a symlink through the terminal window although I prefer to do it through the finder. If you copy and paste the following into your script editor and save it as an application, it will create symlinks for you.

If you double click on the application it will ask you for a file to create a symlink of. If you want to create symlinks for folders, you will need to drop the folders onto the application instead (you can also do this with files). The symlinks will be created in the same location as the original.
