Can I Upload Data from a table to matrix, while matrix is bound to another table??
Hi Friends,
right now i am uploading records to matrix row by row, but when records are very large in numbers then its taking too much time, so how can i upload these record directly to matrix without changing current data binding of the matrix.

I am having a big problem, trying to create datebase.
I have 3 tables: SUPERAVATAR, MASTERAVATAR, MEGAAVATAR.
- SuperAvatars are heroes in an online role playing gaming. They have an ID, superavatarID which contain an UNIQUE NUMBER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY to identify them.
A wisdom trickster,conjuror,magician, etc..
A current owner who is the user or player of the game and has that Super Avatar we associate the link to USERID to know the person.
SuperAvatars can be fathers or mothers of Mega Avatars.
-MegaAvatars are the children of SuperAvatars . They also have an ID UNIQUE NUMBER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY to indentify them.
A magic power it can be a Leader or Sheep
A parent parent is the number identifying to know to who Super Avatar belongs.
e.g.

-We see MEGAAVATARID we choose the number 2 . His magic power is as WIZARD and his father is the number 3.
We see SUPERAVATARID now we look up the SuperavatarID 3 . We can see he has a wisdom GENIUS who belongs to the USERID 16 and he is father of MEGAAVATAR number 2.
The list can carry on and never stop.

What happen when we try to insert values to this table?
In this case we insert to User Table some examples:

Now, we insert to SuperAvatar some examples;

Whats the problem?
We have to insert manually the data from USERID to CURRENTOWNER as we didnt match or link CURRENTOWNER from SUPERAVATAR Table to USERID from USER Table with a SQL CODE.
What happen if we have thousands of USERS that they register to this game ? We will never know to how belongs that SUPERAVATAR but if someone do it manually can spend a year.
I am trying to fix this problem . I add in SUPERAVATAR TABLE CHECK in currentOwner..

but i don't understand, how you join these tables ?
Which user id must come in which column currentowner ?

Reading data from a table which can have millions of record
Hi,
I need to write a query in my report that can be able to fetch records from a z table that have arount 20 lac (= 2 million) records. As far i knoew we can not handle such a huge amount of data in our internal tables. because the size of internal table is fixed and that can be increased only by basis persons.
So can anybody tell me the approach that i should follow such that i can split the data from this table.
Or any other approach is also welcome.
Please reply ASAP when you have the time.

reduce the data selected to the fields you really need, avoid select *. See online help on SELECT, addition PACKAGE SIZE.

Upload data from excel with vba by calling a function module
Hello all,
i have a problem with the function module "ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE". I will call this function module with vba to load data from excel to sap with a Buttonclick. I have copied this function module and set it remotable. But i can´t call it from excel.
Can you give me some tips how can i
upload data from excel with vba by click a button.
The problem seems the function: call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>clipboard_import in the function module, because when i comment this function call the vba-call is true but no results.
How can I call the function module correct with vba?

Upload data from excel (not the excle file) into SAP
Guys,
how can we upload data from excel sheet into SAP? I mean just the data not the entire file,
I have a requirement where user press a button in excel sheet and the data in the sheet will get uploaded into SAP.
I am sure we have to use BAPI and some VB programming for macros, I will really appriciate if anyone can help how to achive this.
some sample code exampe will help.

Copying data from one table to another table thru java
Hi
I have to copy data from table emp in Database A to table emp in Database B. My input would be table name and number of rows to be fetched. these rows i need to insert in table B.
The problem over here is I won't be having any info. of table emp i.e the number of columns it has and their type.
So is their any way i can copy the data from one table to other without having the info abt the number of cols and their type.

Generating a (surrogate) primary key value is usually done using:
A) an Oracle sequence to generate a number
B1) refer to the NEXVAL of the sequence in your insert statements
or
B2) a trigger on your agents table that populates agent_id by referring to the NEXTVAL of the sequence.
Both approaches have pro's and con's, see what best fits your requirement.

How can I pass data from a form guide to another form in a business process
How do we pass data from a form guide to another form(not necessarily a guide) without having to open the form. For example we have a small form guide to capture the contract id so we can then get data from contracts table to present to the user in a form. We want the user to open the guide (either Flex guide or form guide) to enter the contract id. Upon submission we want the process to get the contract data and put it into the form that will be opened at the next step by the user without having a user interact with the form to get the data into it. In other words we need the process to get the data and populate a different form than the form guide the contract id was entered in and this new form needs to be opened in the next step by the user.
Firstly, I'm assuming that you have a Forms ES Server if you are rendering a Guide. This could be either version ES1, ES2/2.5 or ES3/ADEP
If you submit the form back to the server, you can populate a second (PDF/XDP) form with the data bound to the same schema/Data Model using Forms ES.
You referred to the next user in the chain - If you are using Process Management, this is very easy, as you define what form is used to render the data in the "Presentation & Data" section of the Assign Task activity -
Reading Data from a Table With an Expert
Hi all - I'm trying to write an Expert in OWB that would read data from a table and create a new table based on that information. I have the table creation part down, but how can I read data from a table with an Expert? From what I've read, Experts only deal with metadata, and there is no mechanism in Experts to actually read data in the tables. Does OraTcl work in Experts? Has anyone ever came across this problem, and if so, how did you solve it? Thanks in advance for your time! - Don
