Can i use up my warranty?

I recently got my iPhone 5S Gold that is 32GB. And since i got it i downloaded Galaxy on Fire 2 HD and on some cases the a
Screen would not respond to my touch. Then after my phone fell from shin height(below the knee) and had a small dent on the upper right, and the un responsiveness has kicked in more often. I have to close GOF2HD and remove it in the background running apps then start over by opening the app again. My hands are not wet/moist, my hands do not have callus(hard/thick skin) can i have my phone changed? Someone said I can but i have to pay, but is my reason good enough for a phone change?

No, it means IF they are willing to replace it, you will have to pay. Whether or not Apple is willing to replace the phone is up to Apple. You'll need to have them evaluate the phone. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.

If you purchased AppleCare + within 30 days of getting your iPhone 5 you are allowed 2 instances of breakage replacement with a $49 deductible. If you do not have AppleCare + accidental breakage is not covered under you warranty, you can do an out-of-warranty replacement for $229.

I have heard stories that Apple will not even look at an iPhone purchased
in another country at any price since they will not be able to replace with an
identical iPhone which is their practice ( carrier locked etc)

  • How can I use the Warranty on my LaserJet Toner Cartridges ?

I have accumulated a total of 4 malfunctioning LaserJet toner cartridges in the last 6 months and I seem to be stymied trying to do anything. They are for LaserJet models 5, 6p, and 2100, and the failures are each unique print quality problems, move from printer to printer with the toner cartridge and  are all completely resolved by using another toner cartridge. Each of the cartridges yielded between 100 and 800 pages before failing, outlasting the 14 day return policy at local Staples where they were purchased. None of the cartridges depleted its toner supply.
The Warranty Return Card in the package is very simple. It says "this toner cartridge is warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship during its useful lifetime", and "does not apply to cartridges that have been refilled or to those which are simply empty as a result of normal use."
HP's Limited Warranty Statement at http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/privacy/limite d_warranty.html under the heading "HP Limited Warranty Statement - LaserJet Print Cartridges and Imaging Drums" seems simple and  straightforward,  "HP LaserJet Print Cartridges and Imaging Drums are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship" then a clause excluding cartridges refilled, tampered abused, or simply worn out from use, "To obtain warranty service, please return the product to place of purchase (with a written description of the problem and print samples) or contact HP customer support. At HP’s option, HP will either replace products that prove to be defective or refund your purchase price."
N.B.: There is no period stated for the Warranty, nor is there any on the Warranty Return Card in the product package. Also, these toner cartridges do not contain any smart chips, toner depletion sensors, etc.
When I tried to return the cartridges to Staples, they called HP and were told by HP I had to have my receipt to prove the cartridges were less than 1 year old, and then that they wouldn't take them back at Staples anyway but that if I called HP would "mail me one". Since I buy a spare to sit next to a printer for when it runs out of toner, I'm not sure they were all purchased within the last 12 months, only that they were put into service within the last 12 months.
When I called HP support they opened up a trouble ticket for my printer and said someone would get back to me within 10 days. I'm half expecting to get an email in 10 days apologetically noticing that HP no longer supports any of these printers. An email to ship them somewhere far away and expect a reply in 90 days is a definite possibility. I definitely don't expect an HP field service technician to arrive at my door to service the toner cartridges in person.
I don't understand how to use the Warranty. I've (over) paid for piles of genuine HP LaserJet Toner cartridges and having 4 fail for quality problems in the last few months got my attention and its enough money to chase it rather than tossing them like the other 6 or 7 defective ones over the last 10 years.
Does anyone know how to actually get a replacement toner cartridge for a defective one? Please tell me the Warranty isn't just smoke and mirrors...

Sorry to say.  TheHP Warranty is worthless.  I have a friend witht eh EXACT same problem.  DOA cartridges (2 BRAND SPANKING NEW ONES).  One fail about half wai the other did not even over 600 pages.  At $140 per cartridge (plus tax) that is about 21 cents per page plus the cost of paper.  That is color inkjet prices.  And that does not take into account cost of electricity, printer, and time wasted to buy the worthless cartridges.
I listen in his last tech call and I had to go out because it was enfurating.  The technician even email him prve that the toner had NP time based warranty and still in the same breath said our policy is that the warranty is 1 year.  Huh?  What the #%^&* !  Really?  I mean REALLY?  Is like sending you a picture of a perfectly blue sky as proof and telling you that the sky is red with yellow dots.  I hope there is  class action lawsuit agains HP since they are clearly ripping people off.  And the sad part is that some small businesses will also get screw since they sell HP cartridges and some actually say in their web site that the cartridges aare warranted for life.
    I would say either:
    - Do NOT buy HP cartridges
    - Never stock spare cartridges
    - or btter yet, buy another brand of printer.
I actually have the same printer simlilar to his and I used generic with no problems.  Plus I buy my cartridges for $35 if he had done the same he would had at least $400 towards another printer so even if the toner blows up and destroys his printer he would have enough money to buy a replacement.

    it actually says:
"There is no expiration date for the use of HP toner cartridges."
This came from the tech guy at HP!
And then he had the guts to say it is a 1 year warranty?  This only can happen when you have tech support in India.  I guess in India's English no expiration means 1 year.  I have not found an Indian English to American English dictionary but I am sure that is what it should be because they guy did not even hesitated for 1 second when he send that and said it.
    Welcome to HP!

this iphone5 is under warranty period.and now i am parmennantly in india so how can i use this warrary? this phone is factory unlock and alos i have my purches bill of 840$.

If the phone is factory unlocked you can sell it but you probably won't be able to get the warranty replacement in India.
Also, what seems to be the problem with your picture? It seems pretty normal to me, I mean you're taking a picture of the sun, of course it's going to have some glare.

  • I have purchased iphone 5s from us and brought to India. So can I use warranty in India?

I have purchased iphone 5s from us and brought to India. So can I use warranty in India? Or warranty can be transferred for us to India ?

No.  The warranty is only for the country that the device was purchased in.  So for example, if you need service for your phone, you would need to have someone in the US submit the device (from a US mailing address).  Or, someone to take the phone into an Apple Store for you.

    Hi
You should ask your relative to physically take the iPhone to the store rather than shipping it because as diesel vdub has said:
"No Apple store will accept an iPhone shipped to them"
All you have to do is safely pack and ship your iPhone from the Philppines to your California-based relative.

  • Can I use my warranty out of London?

I'm in Colombia my battery in not working , my question is, can I use my warranty out of London ?

The warranty on portables is worldwide, so yes, it should work just fine in Colombia, provided you are still covered. In EU countries, a recent court ruling lost by Apple now obligates the company to honor the standard mandatory two-year warranty for computing equipment. We folks in the rest of the world only enjoy a one-year base warranty. Then, there is the AppleCare warranty extension: for us, it gives two extra years of coverage, for a total of three from date of purchase. For EU members, I have no idea.
Perhaps consulting your coverage here may help:  https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

  • Hello, I live in the Netherlands and my friend is going to bring me a MAC and an Iphone. I was just wondering is there international warranty? Other question is that can I use Iphone with any simcard that I want? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I live in the Netherlands and my friend is going to bring me a MAC and an Iphone. I was just wondering is there international warranty? Other question is that can I use Iphone with any simcard that I want? Thanks in advance!

There is an international warranty on the Mac, but not on the iPhone...iPhone warranties are tied to the country of purchase.  Iphone 5s are currently only available in the US tied to a carrier, you cannot use another nano-sim card in them.

  • I have a Macbook Air that had some coffee spilled on the keyboard and as a result the plus/equals key is no longer functioning. Can I use a program like Ukelele to reprogram a different key to be my plus/equals key? Can I program a function key? key

I have a Macbook Air that had some coffee spilled on the keyboard and as a result the plus/equals key is no longer functioning. Can I use a program like Ukelele to re-program another key to do that function? Can I re-program a function key to do this function?

Water + electronics do not mix.  Something was damaged insode, and the logic board may be corroding as is.
Take it to a Genius Bar for an evaluation and repair estimate.
This is accidental damage and not covered by warranty.

  • Why is it that no sooner do I update my iTouch 3G 32GB to iOS 4.3.5 that suddenly I can't use Wi-Fi anymore? The bar is greyed out and says "No Wifi". I can't use bluetooth either.

Is Apple not worried about the older models or what? My iPod was perfectly fine up until the 4.3.5 update. Now, I've lost about three or four $4.99+ games that I can't redownload for free, a whole music album, and I can't use wi-fi or bluetooth. I can't send in my iPod to get it fixed if that's the problem because my warranty's expired. I can't even find out if there is a problem without buying a help session. What's going on? It's almost like I need to buy a brand new iPod, and I don't have $300 to spend because Apple decided that the new iPods are more important than the old ones. Is there anyway I can fix this without downgrading or buying a brand new $300 iTouch?

    Resolution
If you encounter this issue, try the following steps and attempt to enable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth after each one.
Verify that Airplane Mode is turned off.
Update your iOS device to the latest version of iOS.
Reset Network Settings. To do this, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Restore your iOS device in iTunes.
If you are still unable to turn Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on or off after attempting these steps, contact Apple or your wireless carrier for additional assistance.

  • IPhone 4 I can't use my Safari app. Every time I try to open it, the LAST app that I had used (and closed out of) opens instead of Safari. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sorry! I didn't realize that a message window opened up, so am not sure if my entire question showed up. I can't use my Safari app at all. Every time I try to open it, the app I used (and closed) previously opens instead. It doesn't matter what app it is, it is just the previous app used. Settings: 4.2.6 (8E200). Model MC676LL.  Please help...Thanks!

  • How can I use international data on a prepaid sim (not vzw roaming) with the Galaxy s3?

This has been incredibly frustrating.  I am in the middle of a trip to Europe.  Before I left, I confirmed with VZW CSR's that my s3 LTE phone is fully unlocked and that I could buy a local sim and use it while in Austria.
Aside -- I can't use VZW global services on their network -- cost notwithstanding -- because I  hit some device limit when I bought my wife an iPad, and VZW required a deposit for it.  No big deal, EXCEPT that here three months later I learn that VZW accounting prohibits global roaming if you account has a deposit.  So fine, VZW doesn't want me to pay them a dollar a minute and $20/100MB.  No problem, I can get a drei (3) prepaid card for 10 euros that has 1000 minutes and 2 GB of data.
So, I do.  I activate the card, and voice and sms work fine.  No data.  No joy.
Step 1.  I call samsung.  Samsung, after about an hour of claiming it should work, decides that it is because VZW has some sort of software block.  Not surprising, since the software is actually from VZW.
Step 2.  Call VZW.  After a great deal of ****  VZW says you have to go back to the drei store.
Step 3.  Return to drei.  Store rep discovers VZW software will not recognize their access point name (APN), and will not let you enter it.  They verify on a different s3 that the sim is fine.  With my VZW sim, I can see the VZW APN's, but because I don't have global services turned on, no joy.
Step 4.  Do some web digging.  Discover that this APN thing is a known bug.  Web sites (like the CSR in the transcript) suggest rooting or jailbreaking is the only workaround -- which I don't want to do.  But here I sit in Austria, with no data on a top of the line VZW phone and an account with seven different lines.
So, how do I resolve this?  Take the phone back, because there is clearly a defect?  But if it's software, I'll have to get an escalation to get a different phone.  Is there a fix?  Sue for false advertising?  Better yet, start a class action -- there sure seem to be a lot of us in this boat based on web searches.

OK, I have to throw VZW some props here.  I went to the store where I bought my phones, and explained the problem I was having with international travel and the s3.  The store put me into an iphone5 for free as a warranty exchange -- apparently they know the APN issue is a serious one and they said there was a big lawsuit about it.  It cost me a bit for power adapters and such, and a few paid apps, but the iphone has (reportedly) no issues with international travel and local sims.
Way to go, VZW. Mark this one up for responsive customer service.
