CAN I WRITE "COM CLIENT" USING LABVIEW?

I am trying to trnsfer data from Texas Instrument's Code composer to other software packages which in my case is Labview. In TI's tutorial it is mentioned that this can be done by writting "COM Client". Please suggest.
Regards,

There may be other easier ways too. If you can create DLLs with this Code Composer, you can access those from LabVIEW. That's the easiest way. You can also build CINs (Code Interface Nodes), though I would suggest not going this way, as it is much more tedious than just calling a DLL.

  • Programmatically Insert ActiveX/COM Step Using LabVIEW

    Hi,
    I would like to be able to create sequences like the one attached, using LabVIEW.
    This sequence has only 2 steps, a LabVIEW VI call, and an ActiveX/COM Adapter Call.
    I have been able to do this using an adaptation of the code here: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-36337
    However, I am struggling to add the ActiveX/COM step.
    Any help would be gratefully received.
    Thanks,

    Obviously there is a way if you look for it
    Since you have an existing object of the "Step" class you can also get a "Module" object for it. Afterwards you have to specify that this is an ActiveX module. If you do not know that - probably you need to get it from the "Adapter" object somehow... Our case is simplier, so you just cast it to the ActiveX module and ... set some properties like ServerId, ActiveXReferenceExpr and so on.
    I have attached an example for you. Interesting thing is the ServerId - I have just read this chain from the TS for similar step and reused it here so don't ask me how to obtain it automatically
    You still have to fill your "Properties" like "file" - but I will graciously leave this job for you =

  • Does iMessages only work when writing to people who have i05, or can you write to people using other systems ?

    I have an iPad 2, but have never yet been able to send a iMessage....does this only work when writing to people who also have i05, or can you also write to people who use other systems ?
    iMessages is turned on on my system, but even when writing to people who I know have iPads or iPhones , I just get the red exclamation mark....
    Sending messages on my iPhone seems to work okay when sending to non iPhone users, so I don't understand what's wrong here .

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529 :
    iMessage allows you to send unlimited text, photos, videos, locations, and contacts using Wi-Fi or 3G* from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to other iOS 5 users.
    Note: On iPhone, if iMessage is unavailable, the message may be sent as SMS or MMS, depending on content. Carrier messaging rates may apply. You can turn this on or off in iPhone at Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Messages sent using iMessage will appear in a light blue bubble, while messages sent using SMS or MMS will appear in a green bubble.

  • How can I detect open applications using LabView 6i

    I am using ActiveX to open and write data to an Excell spreadsheet. I open a Template sheet, fill in the new data, then save the spreadsheet under a new name.
    I have discovered that if excell is already open when the VI starts, the spread sheet does not get saved under the new name, and the data ends up being saved with my template worksheet.
    I need a method of determining if Excell is open and if so close as part of the VI's startup routine.

    You can use the "ActiveWindow" method on the "_Application" node to see if it returns a valid refnum or not.
    A valid refnum tells you Excel is open, an invalid says it's not.
    Sample attached.

  • Can you edit file properties using Labview?

    Except for the file attributes like 'read-only' and 'hidden', Windows 2000 & XP also have file properties like 'keywords', 'comments' and 'description'.
    Is there any way that I can edit these properties in Labview?

    RichElswick wrote:
    nope, we never got that far and I am no longer on that project.
    And it would be a bitch to implement. Basically those properties are implement using propertysheet handlers. That are shell extensions that can be installed in Windows and in the registry added to one or more file types. On loading the property dialog the shell (basically only an Explorer thing) sees that for that specific file type there are property sheet handlers registered and then loads them as an extra property sheet into the dialog.
    There is no common API to retrieve and lets forget about changing the information those property sheet handlers deal with programmatically. And every property sheet handler retrieves the actual properties according to his own private information, such as image properties in JPG files but possible also extra information in the meta data of a file on advanced files systems such as NTFS (the security property sheet for instance).
    So you would have to create a Windows dialog, load the according property sheet handlers into it and then have the user deal with that interactively. I doubt that this is what you want.

  • Extended Classic Scenario Pricing issue, can I over come by using SRM-MDM?.

    Hi SRM GURU'S,
    I am using  ECC 6.0, SRM 5.5, SUS, LAC, cFolders and SRM-MDM with Extended Classic Scenario.
    My Question is : In case of Extended classic scenario, there is issue with Pricing and conditions. Is there any possibility to overcome this issue by using SRM-MDM. Or do I have to go for IPC. My client has not brought IPC. I have to cover Pricing with the above components.
    Anyone suggest me, how to proceed.  Thanks in Advance. Awaiting for quick response.
    Thanks & Regards,
    John.

    Hi Masa,
    We can maintain Price and conditions as a record in CCM for Particular Material or Vendor. When you add that record to shopping cart it will update. I mean, If the provision is available in MDM, I don't want to use the Two components for same functionality.
    If I use IPC, Is there separate license for that. What else need to be updated to use IPC (Patches etc).
    If you have IPC configuration material, could you please share with me? How to bridge the SRM Conditions and ECC Conditions?
    Please clearly give me details.  I really appreciate you.
    Regards,
    John.

  • Can PCI-5640 be controlled using Labview 7.1?

    I am running Labview 7.1 and acquired a PCI-5640. I installed the 5640 drivers (ver. 1.1) but cannot find any 5640 VI's  in Labview.  Is Labview 8.2 required to control the 5640? Thanks.

    You will get all the new features for the board in LabVIEW 8.2. It can also be run with LabVIEW 8.0 but the feature list is reduced. It cannot, however, be used with LabVIEW 7.1 or previous versions.

  • Where can I find contract work using LabVIEW?

    I am currently looking for some LabVIEW programming contract work. I have 3 years LabVIEW experience. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

    There are two good ways to get contract work for programming with LabVIEW:
    1.  Get certified as a LabVIEW Developer (CLD).  This will get your name on our website for customers to browse when looking for LabVIEW programmers.  This will also give you exposure to NI reps to they can be aware you're working and certified, even if they're not your rep, they could still recommend you to a customer in need.
    2.  Become a Certified Professional Instructor.  You'll receive teaching contracts from NI that could last as little as 3 days, or as much as a month at a time based on your location and willingness to travel.

  • Can I write webservice client in pl/sql?

    Hello,
    I wonder whether there is a way to call an external webservice within a function or procedure and use the response for different queries, can someone send me an example of what is the best way to do it?
    Regards,
    Eyal Bitansky

    Sure you can. We've used Oracle's built-in Java capabilities to callout to a Web service on an another server, using http. Depending on what you want, this could be very simple or vastly complex.
    (Also) depending on the Oracle database version you're using, you might have to load several Java libraries in the database. This is well documented inside OTN on the Web services section (I believe).
    Good luck.

  • How can I write code that uses schemas returned by one query to run another

    I need to use the data returned by this SQL
    Select owner
    From dba_tables
    Where tablename = 'TRANSACT';
    To run the following SQL for every schema in the database:
    Select $vschema, count(*)
    from $vschema..transact;
    Where I am using $vschema as a variable to hold owners returned by the first statement.
    I have tried using 1 cursor, 2 cursors, 1 coursor and an execute immediate command and either my code fails or I get a message that it ran successful but I cant see the data that I want returned by the second query.

    I don't actually want to get the count on the transact table for each schema I just used that as an example to simplify... Maybe the code that I have written so far would be better... Here is one attempt:

    SET VERIFY OFF
    DECLARE
    v_schema Varchar2(50);
    v_chgdate DATE;

    SELECT DISTINCT t.owner
    FROM sys.dba_tables t
    WHERE t.table_name = 'GERCVLOG'
    ORDER BY t.owner;
    /* Second cursor */

    SELECT MAX(g.chgdate),
    SUM(g.debits),
    SUM(g.totalamt)
    FROM &&v_schema..gercvlog g
    WHERE g.chgdate >= '01-Jan-07' or
    g.chgdate = (SELECT MAX(g1.chgdate)

  • Can load image from file using LabVIEW and display on IMAQ graph?

    I dont have IMAQ Vision for LabVIEW on my computer. Is it possible to load image file and display on an IMAQ graph?
    Thanks!

    Hey werwr,
    In response to: "I dont have IMAQ Vision for LabVIEW on my computer. Is it possible to load image file and display on an IMAQ graph?"
    As of right now, in order to read an image from file, you actually do need the IMAQ Vision software. The IMAQ driver without the Vision VI's will allow you to collect images from a framegrabber, and it will allow you to save those images to file. But the function that allows you to read an image from file does require the Vision VI's. Once you have the VI to read images from a file, you will be able to display the image on an IMAQ "Graph" or otherwise known as an Image Display.
    I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
