Can Item Import handle default subinventory/locator

Hi,
I have developed Item Conversion in my project, now there is one additional requirement to add default sub inventory/locator with the item during item migration. I have doubt that Item import will linked default sub inventory/locator with the item.
I have studied and found that we need to go to Setup->Transactions->Item Transaction Defaults, and when item is linked to default sub inventory/locator with the help of this screen, it updates tables MTL_ITEM_SUB_DEFAULTS, and MTL_ITEM_LOC_DEFAULTS for that item.
Now my question is that, if I get these two fields in Item data template and need to insert these two during item migration, how is this possible?
I know there will be many suggestions, Please share ur views with me.
Thanks and Regards,
Nidhi

Nidhi,
Item import cannot handle this. Also there are no public APIs available for this. For subinventory defaults you can use NV_ITEM_SUB_DEFAULT_PKG (we used and found no issues). You can write a simple wrapper to validate information passed to this.
For locator defaults there no database package found at all. Entire insert happens from the form itself. It is just another simple insert like the above into MTL_ITEM_LOC_DEFAULTS table. So you can explore your options.

  • Default Subinventory/Locator for item during Shipping Transaction-Any API

    Hi,
If we need to define a Default subinventory or locator for an item during Shipping Transanction, we are setting it up from Application as follows:
Inventory --> Setup --> Item Transaction Defaults window
Can we define the same setup using any undocumented API? Please let me know if any API can accomplise the same functionality.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Gowri

    Hi Gowri,
if you want to ship the goods from a specific subinventory & locator, then setup a default release rule in Order Management Super User > Setup > Shipping > Picking > Define release rule form. Where you can define the default pick from subinventory & locator. Each time you will try to ship the goods, the system will pick the goods from the subinvetory defined here.

  • How can we change the default folder location (avoiding problems with Temporary Internet Files)

(Environment in question: Windows 7 secure desktop (running as user not admin), Office 2010)
    Hello,
As has been touched on in various forums (such as here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/797451), when one opens a PDF attachment in Outlook, Acrobat and Reader store the file in the "Temporary Internet Files" folder (f/k/a OLK folder in previous versions of Outlook.  There are two major problems with this:
First, as Microsoft has documented in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817878, attachments end up here staying here under certain conditions (go checks your now, you'll find some!), which ends up being a file attachment no man's land, and that can present security risks (e.g. if data we thought was deleted still lives in that folder).
Secondly, the first time you open an attachment in Acrobat and do a Save As, Acrobat is defaulting to the Temporary Internet Files location.  This folder (as noted in the thread linked above) is ridiculously hard to get to for the average user, so they can end up storing a file and then losing it.
We've found that if we open Acrobat once, do a save as, and change to the users Documents folder, the change sticks.  But how can we have Acrobat default to Documents instead of that temporary location?
      Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you check to see if Acrobat sets a registry entry or file preference for the first Save As?  That's where I would start looking.  Process Monitor is a good tool for this.

  • Can I set the default save location in text edit to dropbox?

I'm happy with dropbox for now and want to set the default save folder to a dropbox folder but I cannot see how to do this.
Can it be done? Or do I need a 3 party text editor?
    Thanks
    Tom

You cannot. Because this option both takes much longer and reduces the quality of files, it has to be chosen specifically.
In any case, when you save a PDF file from Word. this process does not involve Acrobat or Adobe software in any way.

  • How can I set the default window location in calendar to my second monitor?

After installing Mavericks, Calendar always opens its windowed centered in my main monitor.  I move it to where I want it (upper left, second monitor) but when I quit the program, the location reverts to the original location.  Is there a .plist I need to edit?
    -Jeff

The "quit calendar" fix does not endure after the next logout or restart.
In System Preferences, in the Mission Control Pane, unchecking "Displays have separate spaces" causes the windowing behavior to revert to pre-Mavericks behavior.  Applications open in the previously used window.  Applications with windows on multiple monitors re-open with correctly located windows.  However, all the behavior reverts, so you can't run multiple full screen applications on different monitors, nor is there a tool bar at the top of secondary monitors.

  • How can i change the default profile location to another directory or environment variable?

    Hi,
I need to move where Mozilla Firefox creates its profiles. it currently creates in AppData\Local\Mozilla... normally that is ok. In my network unfortunately AppData\Local is synchronised using Citrix Profile Management tools. the size of the Firefox profile whilst only several meg causes slow login times for my customers. So we currently have folder re-direction enabled and we would like to move the Firefox profile to a directory within documents i.e. %USERNAME%\documents.
I have found some ADM templates on the internet however, they have not had enough options including the VBS files i spotted that they are for a very old version. i have tried to find the correct location in the registry under HKLM\software\policys\Mozilla however this does not exist.
We are using Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
Mixed Versions of Firefox used but for sake of arguments version 28.
If someone could help that would be much appreciated.

  • Import Default Bin Location Using OITW - ItemWarehouseInfo.xlt

I am trying to import default bin locations in SAP B1 v9.00.058 PL.06.
I created a new OITW template using the Data Transfer Workbench, and then insert my data. I am only using two collumns from this template since I just want to specify the Default BIN for every item code. See attached for the original template as well as a test import file.
I followed the following steps for importing this data in the DTW
    1. Master Data
    2. Update Existing
    3. Inventory - Item Master Data
    4. Choose update file (See attached Test.txt), next to "ItemWarehouseInfo"
    5. Run Update
When running the import I get an error message Update Failed "1470000335 Bin location not enabled for warehouse "Warehouse name"
The strange thing for me is that this error is probably quite logical, since my update file only specifies the Item Code and the Default Bin Location, how will SAP know which warehouse this Bin Location is to be configured for.
I would assume that it should be possible to specify a combination of the ItemCode and WarehouseCode when importing a default Bin Location, but the default OITW template, only uses the ItemCode as it's ParentKey.
Any suggestions? We have about several thousands of bin locations to be updated so the DTW is probably our only alternative?

    Hi,
I have tried the above solution and it is not working. The DTW tries to set the Default BIN Locations for the first warehouse in the OWHS table. In our case this specific warehouse does not have Bin Locations enabled. We have several warehouses in the OWHS table and we want to import bin locations for specific warehouses. In our case it is the warehouse in Line 5 in the OWHS table.
We have tried to set the linenum field to 5 in the OITW import template but DTW still tries to import the bin locations to the same (first) warehouse.

  • How can I import Canon GPS location from one picture in project to remaining pictures in project?

How can I import Canon imbeded GPS location from one picture in project to remaining pictures in project?

If you have several photos taken at the same location you can use the Lift&Stamp tool to copy the GPS data to the other images.
Seelct the image, press the "Lift" button, deselect all tags in the Lift&Stamp HUD but the GPS coordinates, then select all photos taken at the same place and and press the "Stamp" tool. (marked by the down arrow)
Alternately use the "Places View". You will see the photos with a GPS location marked by a pin. Drag the photos you want to assign to the same place simply to that pin on the map and they will be assigned to the same place.

  • Default storage location setting

    Hi,
how can i set the default storage location.
I need to reflect it autometically while booking any order.
    Regards,
    Rajdeep

    Hi Rajdeep,
there are quite different ways to achieve this,
    - If you are open for enhancement, then write the piece of coding to default the storage location in Includ:MV45AFZB under
USEREXIT_SOURCE_DETERMINATION which could be applicable for all doc types or set of doc types/ item cat's
    OR
    - You can achieve the same requirement with Transaction variant in Tx:SHD0 while recording enter this field manually & at the time of save , save it as "with content" & assign this variant in order doc type details in VOV8.
then whenver you create sales order using this doc type, storage location will be defaulted. ( assumption is - you have single storage location which has to be defaulted in order)
    Hope it helps,

    Hi Marcelo,
Yes this is normal, a default route unlike any other routes is not redistributed between routing protocols by default, in the case of BGP you have 2 options, either use a network command and make sure that the route is in the routing table (via EIGRP in your case), or use redistribute + default-information originate, you can test this by removing the network command and adding the default-information originate under the address family.

  • Default file location when calling report from Forms 10G

I've tried this in the reports forum, but it applies equally to forms I guess..
    Hi,
I've managed to put together a routine for running a report from a 10G Form. In 6i I specified a "relative path" to my report name as follows:-
    "Run_Product(REPORTS, '..\Reports\myreportname', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id, NULL); "
In 10G I would like to just specify the report name, rather than the full file path. Can I specify a relative file path - or alternatively can I set the default report location in a configuration file?
At the moment I'm having to specify something like:
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid, REPORT_FILENAME,
    'c:\oracle\systemname\reports\myreportname.RDF');
I would like to just have:
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid, REPORT_FILENAME,
    'myreportname.RDF');
    Many thanks,
    Keith.

Do you run your application on an application server?
If so you should use the REPORTS_PATH environment variable (in windows registry entry).
Alternatively you could use an environmentid in the reports.conf-file:
    <server version="10.1.2.0.2">
    <environment id="YOURID">
    <envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH" value="C:\......"/>
    </environment>
You call the report with the parameter &envid=YOURID in the URL.

  • Portable Home Directories - Default save location

We are using portable home directories, that is multiple users in Open Directory that have their home set to afp:\\server\Users\ and are configured with mobile accounts and home sync.
The default save location is always the afp:\\server\Users\username location (Desktop or Documents, or whatever is needed depending on the app). The problem is the user saves to the Desktop, but it's not really their local desktop, the file doesn't show up until the next home sync. How can we change the default save location without breaking their home sync?

    Hi,
Do you mean you want to change the default location when you click Save and then
Browse? If so, we can do this via group policy.
First, you need to install Office 2010 Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX/ADML). See:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=18968
Follow this article to add the ADMX files:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179081(v=office.14).aspx#Load_O14_templates
After that, open your Group Policy Object Editor and navigate to: (Word for example)
User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Word 2010\Word Options\Advanced\File Locations, double click on
Default File Location, select Enable and defines the default path to save documents under "Options" section.
Restart Word to check the result.
    Hope this helps.

  • Defaulting of SubInventory / Locator

    Hi
We have configured Subinventory as locator controlled. I need inputs on below scenarios -
Can we default Subinventory and Locator at the time of PO Receipt. My understanding is SubInventory can be defaulted by maintaining subinventory at Item - Org in Item Master / Subinventory on PO Line / Transaction default. Is there any alternate option?
Locator is dynamically controlled and the user can give the locator at the time of PO Receipt. Locator can be given in Item Transaction Default screen but as we have millions of items so the process will become very cumbersome. Is there any good alternative to default the Locator at the time of PO Receipt.
For drop ship orders, users would not like to enter the subinventory and locator for each line. Subinventory can be defaulted but how to default a single value of locator for multiple lines at the time of PO Receipt.
    Pl share your thoughts!
    Thanks!
    Rajeev

    Sandeep Gandhi, Independent Consultant wrote:
Rajeev, assuming your subinventory is locator controlled, you can let a locator default automatically at PO receipt.
You are familiar with the "item transaction defaults" screen. Just go to the locator tab and create a new record with type = Receiving.
If you have a large number of records, you can do load those values programmatically.
Since it is only a default, the user can override it at the time of receiving.
The other option is to modify the receipt traveller. This way, a default can be printed on it based on your custom logic. And when the warehouse person PUTS AWAY the material, he enters the put away tranasction with the locator where it was stored. This works especially well if you are using handheld scanners for put away. You print the non-barcoded locator on the receipt traveler. And you make the person scan the actual locator on the rack. This ensures that he put it away at the right location.
For drop ship orders, why are you receiving them in a locator controlled subinventory? Or you are not using the true drop-ship functionalty in Oracle?
    Hope this helps,
Sandeep Gandhi My bad..sandeep is right..what i did was i haven't created a record for subinventory in item default screen..i just created it for locator..so when i was receiving it..i can't find the default values..i just went ahead and created a record for combination of subinventory and locator..and i could see them..been defaulted..
    Sandeep..
what do you mean by true drop ship functionality in oracle..can you be more specific please??
we follow by defining the item to a least used org..when we create a SO..we do select it as external source..then we logical receive PO...and do the logical receipt
Any other way you are talking about??
    Thanks

  • How can one set a default location for the pictures on the hard drive?

Since Windows normally places the pictures on a typical drive as "My Pictures" about four or five levels down from the root, any effort to import picture files into Lightroom requires multiple clicks to drill down to the "My Pictures" then (for example) year, month, date, etc.
Can I define a location as the default starting point to find the pictures?  I don't see how to put that into presets. Or can a key shortcut be created to go straight to c:/users/name/mypictures/2013/April15 etc?
    Steve Board

dj is right. Any Folder can be a picture folder.
Create a root level folder and add it to your Pictures Library in Windows.  It will show up with all the scattered pictures from other programs. It can even be a different dirve if you like.  You  can even specify one to be the default save location for pictures in this dialog.
Navigate to Pictures in your Libraries in Windows Explorer Right Click and select Properties.
