Can items be published as portlets in release 2 ?

Does anyone know if it is possible to publish a text item as a portlet in release 2.
Feedback appreciated
Anders

Hy, i hope this helps:
I made a subpage with an item, i deleted the banner of this page.
This page should be registered as a portlet.
Then i added this page(the portlet) to my page.

  • Public user sees old content of items in content area/portlets

    I have items in my Content Area, as pl/sql folders, text and pl/sql items. These are all published as portlets. Access is set to public. The content of these items have been altered a couple of times during development, and they work as they should when I4m logged in as a user.
    However, when I access these items (both directly by an url to the content area and by an url to the page containing the portlets) as the public user (not logged in), the content of these items is old. The content could be several weeks old, actually it is possible that the displayed content is the original content of the specific item (as it was when I first created the items).
    To me, it sounds like a cache issue, and I tried to set "Enable plsql caching" to "no", with no improvement.
    What can I do to solve this?
    /Sara

    You could try flushing the cache content by navigating to
    $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/modplsql/cache
    ..and deleting the directories and all content beneath them.
    This is guaranteed to cause a cache rewrite.
    You should also set your page cache settings to 'Dont Cache' which will guarantee that the cache is not being used.
    You can check the caching status of a portlet on a page by adding _debug=1 to the URL you are viewing.
    You can read more about it here..

    What patch/version are you running ?

  • Page paths show root level when page published as portlet

    I use pages that simply work as repositories and which are published to the root page in the same page group as portlets. When these repository pages have sub pages I add a region with a page path for users to navigate within each page hierarchy.
    When the pages are published as portlets and placed on the root page of the page group, the page path shows the root page as the first level of the path (root : repospage : reposSubPage1 : reposSubPage11).
    This is confusing as it always seems that there is one more level above the top level when in fact reposPage is the top level.
    I want to have the underlying repository page as the top level of the path. How do I do this?

    The page path always shows the root page of the page group.
    You can try building your own page path in a PL/SQL item. The function:
    wwpro_api_parameters.get_value('_pageid','a')will return the value of the pageid parameter in the page URL (the second parameter is used by portlets and is ignored when used in a PL/SQL item). You can use this value to find the parent page in the WWSBR_ALL_FOLDERS view. By using a cursor loop (I recommend this over a connect by query against this view), you can walk up the tree to get the entire path. The root page will always have an id of 1.
    One caveat - getting the pageid from the wwpro_api_parameters.get_value function may not work in future versions of Portal.
    Also, you'll need 9.0.2.6 or later for the WWSBR_ALL_FOLDERS view.

  • Notification Portlet in Release 2

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use the notification portlet that comes with release 2.
    When I use it for displaying expiry notifications, it works perfectly, but when I want it to show the approval notifications, nothing shows up.
    I have tried different versions on the default settings (showing 1 type at the time or all types), but have gone a little blank ;o)
    Also - my approval settings should be in order.
    Can anyone please help.
    Regards
    Pernille

    The Notifications portlet is in the portlet repository under the Content category. You can add it to any portlet region on your page.

  • Expected behavior of the Exchange portlets in release 2

    I've installed the Exchange portlets in release 2 successfully. Everything works - Inbox, Calendar, Contact list. However when you update the portlet with required information i.e. Inbox user name, server, # of message rows, the portlet displays the view, but once you go to a different page and then decide to return to the page with the Exchange portlets, you need to enter that very same information again. Is this the way it is suppose to work???
    Please share your experiences.
    Thanks,
    r/ George

    George,
    This may be a pain for you, but could you please walk me through the steps that you took to get the exchange portlets working? We are trying to install the exchange5.5 portlets. We are currently using Portal release 9.2.1.2.14 (i think that's it - latest release) and have upgraded to 9.0.2.4 via the December PDK we downloaded. We have also made the appropriate setup to the IIS/Exchange server and can view the test.asp pages that were provided. Do you need to deploy an .ear file on OC4J for the exchange5.5 portlets like you do for the exchange2000 portlets? Any help would be appreciated and we have read the documentation included with the Dec. pdk.zip release to no avail. Thank you.

  • Display content items into custom remote portlets

    Hi, I need to dinamically display content server items in a custom portlet, using the EDK, but I did not find any way to get this result. Is it poossible to get an object (in my case a published content item) within an ObjectManager and display it's content (in our case a simple HTML content).
    I need to do this because whe have to format the home page of the portal in order to display the first half in three columns and the second half in two columns and we are trying to do this implementing a custom portlet (in the content canvas area) containing a three columns table displaying each a different content item.
    Thank you.

    There are basically two ways that I have done to open the content item editor.1) From a content presentation template you would call a JavaScript function like:
    <script>
    function edit_article$$TOKEN$$() {
    var width = 700;
    var height = 527;
    var left;
    var top;
    left = window.screenLeft + 10;
    top = window.screenTop - 30;
    if ( (left + width/2) > screen.availWidth ||
    (top + width/2) > screen.availHeight ) {
    left = 0;
    top = 0;
    var params = "height=" + height + ",width=" + width + ",left=" + left + ",top=" + top + ",screenX=" + left + ",screenY=" + top + "toolbar=0,location=0,directories=0,status=1,menubar=0,scrollbars=1,resizable=1";
    window.open("<pcs:value expr='pcs_location'></pcs:value>/published_tools/content_item.jsp?ciid=<pcs:value expr='pcs_id'></pcs:value>&title=ContentItemEditArticleTitle", '', params);
    </script>
    2) The other way is using the content Item API. You get the editor url from the content item, which you already have. Now what you are doing below is almost correct. The importance of the pt:objectid is crucial. Take a look at the web docs on Plumtree ([url[/url]http://www.plumtree.com/edoc/Enterprise_Web_Development_Documentation.htm) under portlets/adaptive portlets/transformer tags/links. So the reason yours is not working is that you are missing some ptargs. The pt:objectid needs to be the objected of the "Content Administrator" portlet. This is for 2 reasons. One is so that you get the correct PTargs and the second is that it will use the basic auth information stored in its web service. So if your objectid of the portlet was 201 then it would look like this:
    lblHref.Text = "<pt:gatewayLink xmlns:pt='http://www.plumtree.com/xmlschemas/ptui/'pt:ObjectID='201' pt:href=\""+ url + "\" target='TinyURL' onclick=window.top.open('','TinyURL'," + WindowOpenParams + ");>"+myContentItem.Name + "</pt:gatewayLink>";

  • SMS Portlet (Beta Release) Release available for download

    SMS Portlet (Beta release) is now available for download from Portal Center, Knowledge Exchange.
    The SMS Portlet leverages Oracle9iAS Wireless Push Service & Transport Architecture to send an SMS to any mobile device. The user of this portlet would need to get an account with Oracle9iAS Wireless team. However, to encourage the use of this service, a trial account of 1000 units (where each SMS message uses 10 units) per IP address has been permitted.
    You need to subscribe to the Oracle9iAS Portal Developer Services in order to download this sample. Subscribers to the Oracle9iAS Portal Developer Services will be able to access the Knowledge Exchange where this portlet sample is uploaded. The Oracle9iAS Portal Developer Services is a network of people dedicated to creating and exchanging portal expertise.

  • How to migrate  published content portlets

    When trying to migrate the Published Content Portlets , I get the error: "The Migration Utility cannot contact a server. Please check the status of this server or select a different server in the list: Server Name: Content Server Remote Server.
    Any clue?

    I get the same problem. I'm running content 6.0 on Weblogic express 8.1 SP3. I realise SP3 isn't supported in the interoperability matrix for content 6.0 but I'm trying to establish if we can run with the combination anyway as I'd like to deploy collab 4.2 on the same weblogic server, and collab 4.2 requires sp3.
    When I try to import the published content portlets pte, i get the following error in the content server weblogic log:

    Hello i had exactly the same error, but not with file upload.
    I'm sure you have in your application lib directory to jars which aren't compatible to each other.
    And the problem occured between my myfaces and tomahawk jars .
    See this page:
    http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/CompatibilityMatrix
    It tells you which myfaces and tomahawk jars you can use together.
    Hope it can help.

  • How can I read published data from a datasocket server running in a different network?

    Hi all,
    I have been trying to solve this problem but without any success. I want to develop data acquisition Vi to run on a computer on a remote location. I want to use the datasocket technology to acquire and publish this data so that in my office (in a different network), I can read the published data and perform analysis with it. I can successfully use this approach for the two computers in the same network but not when they are in different networks. My real problem is how to specify the URL for the acquisition computer in one network while the analysis Vi runs on a different network.
    I have attached two Vis to illustrate my point (I simply want to be able to read the random numbers generated in the acquisition computer in a different network). The first Vi (RemoteDatasocketWrite.vi) will run on the remote computer with an IP address (192.168.0.110). My office computer on which RemoteDatasocketRead.vi runs has an IP address (192.168.0.11) and I can log in remotely into the remote computer using Remote Desktop Protocol with name (emelvin.001.eairlink.com) from my office computer.
     Is it possible to do what I am trying to do or is there a simpler way to solve this problem?
    I will really appreciate any help towards a solution to this problem.
    Thanks

    Are you getting an error? The way you have it set up, you can have an error and it will never be displayed. Put and error control on your front panel and see what it gives you. Also, shared variables in a project can be useful. Look at some examples for that.

  • I can no longer publish my ICal work calendar

    Just updated to the new calendar in mobile me but it deleted all previous calendars that were on my iCal app on desktop computer.  Fixed that with apple's help, but can no longer publish new calendar updates that are created on home desk top computer/ical (not mobile me).  The radio beacon is no longer present on the work calendar that has been published for 5 years and in the tool bar under Calendar "published" is not able to be selected.  I have 81 mb of my iDisk being used and over 9 gb of free space.  Any help/ideas out there.  Thank you.

    This is odd: I have no trouble doing this. However I'm on Snow Leopard, so I don't know what difference Leopard makes.
    When Apple sorted out your initial problem with the calendars after the upgrade, are you sure they didn't land you with MobileMe calendars? The new calendars live on MobileMe and Leopard can read them and display them in your iCal - I don't know whether it lists them under your MobileMe login name as Snow Leopard does.
    Try this: create a new calendar and make sure that it's 'On My Mac'. Add a single event to it just so that there is something there. Can you publish this? If so, then the other calendars probably are on MobileMe and need to be transferred back to your Mac (from where they won't sync with MobileMe).
    This is the procedure for shifting calendars back to 'On My Mac':
    Select a calendar listed under your MobileMe login name.
    From the File menu choose Export...>Export. An .ics file will be saved at your designated destination.
    Create a new calendar with the same name as the one you've just exported from, choosing 'On My Mac'.
    From the File menu choose Import... Select the .ics file and choose to import it into the calendar you just created (make sure you don't import it into the MobileMe version).
    When complete, check that it's OK and then you can delete the MobileMe version.
    Repeat for other calendars. I should keep the .ics files for a bit as a safety until you are quite sure everything is correct.

  • Can we call a pdk portlet from other pdk portlet

    Hi friends,
    Can i call a pdk portlet from other pdk portlet when an event happens.
    Scenario:
    I have a pdk portlet with 10 html links. When anyone clicks on a link then a new portlet should be displayed in the same page.
    Is it possible to call one portlet from others.
    Please help me out with ur ideas or any workarounds.
    Thanks & Rgds,
    Dhanu

    Neeraj,
    Let me state my requirements very clear to u.
    1)I have a search portlet at top right corner.
    2)Below there is a region with 3 tabs(say A, B, C).
    3)When anyone searches for anything in the search portlet then the results should be displayed in new search tab(say D).
    4)If any one navigates to other tab(ie A or B or C) then the search tab(ie D) should not be displayed.
    This is my requirement. Can u please suggest me with how this can be achieved. I am just a beginner to Oracle portals10.1.4 and i am using JPDK to create portlets.
    Please do reply ASAP.
    With thanks & Rgds,
    Dhanu

  • Can give me the details how to release the transport request to the qa

    can give me the details how to release the transport request to the quality server pr production server
    thanks

    Hi,
    Use transaction SE09. Here select "modifiable" .Then click -Display.
    Now you get a list of all requests which can be released.
    Locate your request number and drill down. Release the sub-request first and then the main request by selecting and using the "transport" icon.

  • Can third part publish in same multi folio app?

    We are planning on upgrade to proffessional license so that we can publish multifolio apps for ios and android for
    a specific client.
    Are these multifolio apps tied to our account or can other devolopers publish new folios in the app that we created in the beginning?
    For example: We make the multifolio app and publish four folios, and then we want an app for the same client but that app contains
    features that DPS cant handle.
    Can we hire a approgrammer (that not have CC) and let that studio publish this new publication so it will be number 5 in our app?
    Or is it so that the final customer that we develop for need to subscribe to Creative Cloud?
    Best regards
    Magnus

    All content shown in DPS must be in our format. You can't just add another folio that came from something other than DPS.
    If you need to extend the functionality beyond what we support the normal way to do that is to include an HTML article or web overlay with some HTML5 to do the advanced interactivity you're trying to accomplish.
