Can  jclass and jmethodID be static in code?

Hi
In my program different threads call same C function.
In this C function I am calling JNI APIs.
Here JNI_CreateJavaVM is called only once and same static variable JavaVM is used all the time.
AttachCurrentThread is used to attach current thread and get variable JNIEnv.
During first call to C function, JNI APIs JNI_CreateJavaVM , FindClass and GetStaticMethodID are called and static variables are initialized.
During subsequent operations, API AttachCurrentThread is called and same static variable for method id is passed to CallStaticIntMethod.
Program is running successfully for all threads.
Question) Is it a good way to declare method id variable static and use same variable in all threads?
As JNIEnv variable is not same for all threads...so is it expected to call apis FindClass and GetStaticMethodID after AttachCurrentThread API?

Can jclass and jmethodID be static in code?Yes.

  • Problem with static and nonstatic objects in same code?

    Hi everyone, I am working on a project and I kept running into an odd problem where my code would compile but when I went to run the code I would get an exception. I finally narrowed my problem down to a small fragment. Here is an example.
    class Mut{
    static Mut Fido = new Mut();
    Mut Sammy = new Mut();
    public static void main(String args[]){
    This piece of code will compile but when I run it on an WindowsXP machine the JRE tells me there is an exception at line 3. If I change the code to this:
    class Mut{
    static Mut Fido = new Mut();
    static Mut Sammy = new Mut();
    public static void main(String args[]){
    The code runs fine without any problems. My question is: why can't I create a static object and a nonstatic object in the same class? Is this a certain feature of JAVA I don't understand or is this a blackbox problem with XP? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
    Vance

    Is the exception stack trace what is displayed in the command-line window? If it is here is what is displayed(This is a lot):

  • How can we pass argument to static block of code????

    hi ,
    My question is we can use static initialization block for having functionality like constructors for initializing static variable ,but we cannot pass arguments to static initialization block then how can I create functionality like parametrized constructors.Whats the alternative shall I use a static method to perform this functionality,since all methods in given class are static and
    there is no need of creating instance of class.

    Hello Jussi,Salut Jérôme
    That's probably a more maintenable design.
    However what do you base your remark on - I'm struck by the word obviously?
    Is there some design principle from which this advice so naturally ensues that it is obvious ?Yes I read my posting later on and thought about changing it, since it's not necessarily an obvious solution. I was making assumptions that I didn't clarify from the OP.
    In the OP's case, the "state" on which those methods operate is apparently fixed, presumably at the beginning of the program, so what's wrong with all this staticness?
    I can list:
    - threading issues (a non-issue after some initialization phase), that you wouldn't have with immutable instances
    - harder unit-testing (that's not an OO design problem, more a methodology problem)
    - mix and confusion between static and non-static state if the class ever happens to have both, in future maintenance. All good points, I see all-static classes as a "code smell" and especially in this case when there's parametrization involved.
    Now we just need to have the OP explain his situation a bit better.

    You need to adjust your security stuff/ permissions and possibly use compatibility modes. It means that your licensing service is being blocked/ shut down.

    There is no way to retrieve the 4 digit code. You have to restore the device if you don't know the code and you cannot unlock the device. There have been more than a few users that are asking about this and they are all saying the same thing that you are saying - they never set a passcode before.
    What is the exact message that you are getting when you try to update?

  • How can I pass a file refnum into and out of external c++ code? What type does it convert to in c++?

    I am trying to write external c++ code that will read a file already opened by Labview and therefore assigned a refnum. (Unfortunately, I definately can't use the standard Labview vis.) However I am not sure what c++ type to use in order to manage the refnum.
    All help and thoughts appreciated. Thanks,
    Joanna

    You could do ALL your file handling in C or C++ (MFC CFile for
    example) and pass Microsoft file handles into and out of LabVIEW
    instead of LabVIEW file references into and out of C. This may be an
    easier way to attack the problem.
    You could create a DLL in MSVC that exports a FileOpen function, a
    FileClose function and a FileRead and/or FileWrite Function and then
    call that DLL from place to place as required in your code.
    It would help us if you would explain what kind of data you are trying
    to read or write and what the application is. Is it binary data?
    text files? Do you need some special Win32 file system feature like
    file mapped memory? I guess what I am asking is what is your
    motivation for doing file handling in C or C++?

    This alert occurs when iTunes is trying to do something not allowed by the iTunes Store in that country.
    The most common example of this is trying to sign in while limited to iTunes U by Parental Controls.

    Please provide us with the following logs.
    You can find them at:
    Ps Installer logs
    For Mac:
    Library\Logs\Adobe\Installer
    For Win:
    Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
    You can zip all the files together and send us through mail ([email protected]). This would help us in finding the root cause.

  • I recently downloaded is x mountain lion and while it finished it erased all my data, some of which I need. When using disk utility I found my old data but it says corrupted. I can't repair and while restoring the error code 32 Broken Pipe appears. Help?

    My data I need is on my computer but it needs to be repaired but can't and when I try to restore it/back it up it ends abruptly with error code 32 broken pipe.
    It was damaged while installing os x mountain lion and I found my data on disk repair (utility)

    Sounds like your hard drive is badly corrupted, likely due to problems that were already there when you started trying to install Mountain Lion. The problem is, if you don't have any backups already, you may not be able to recover all your data from this state. Do you have backups of that data already?
    If not, I assume when you say that "it needs to be repaired but can't," you mean that Disk Utility tells you there is a problem with the disk, but that it is unable to repair it? If so, you can try repairing the drive using DiskWarrior, which can repair problems that Disk Utility cannot. That may give you access to your data again, but may not.
    Also, it's important to understand that if your data is not backed up, everything you do with the computer runs the risk of overwriting or corrupting that data. You may want to go straight to trying to recover your data. See Recovering deleted files.
    Regarding the error code, if you're trying to back up the drive using Disk Utility's Restore tab, note that that is often not successful when the drive you're trying to back up is corrupt.
    Once the situation is resolved - either because you have backups, are able to recover your data files or are forced to accept that they are gone permanently - you will need to erase the hard drive and reinstall the system and all your apps from scratch.

  • Been having trouble with printer drivers, so I uninstalled Photoshop CC and now I can't reinstall. Getting an error code 50

    I can't get cc to install. error code 50

    Can you open the CC Desktop Application Manager.  Click on the cog icon top right corner. Then on Account and see what version you are running?
    If less than 1.6.0.393 then you need to update the Desktop Application Manager.   I think that _might_ fix your error 50.
