    If that is true, then what is the following TechNet article discussing?

    Excerpt:
    Task Scheduler Backward Compatible Module Status

  • How to disable scheduled task through database?

    I would like to know to disable scheduled task without OIM running, preferably through the database.
    OIM has out of the box schedule tasks that are set to run when OIM starts, and I would like to prevent that from happening.
    Is is possible to disable these tasks when OIM is not running?
    if possible I would like to know what I need to do, preferably through the database

    The QRTZ92_TRIGGERS table contains the trigger time of the schedule tasks. You can directly modify the START_TIME and the NEXT_FIRE_TIME columns to future dates in order to prevent the scheduled jobs from starting.
    You can also stop the Scheduler, which is responsible for kicking off the scheduled jobs.
    To manually stop the Scheduler go to http://OIM_HOST:OIM_PORT/SchedulerService-web/status
    You can configure the oim-config.xml so that the Scheduler is not started when OIM starts.
    Reference: Managing Scheduled Tasks
    To disable a schedule task, you have to have OIM running. You can use the APIs, modify the schedule tasks metadata (<taskStatus>false</taskStatus>), or use the UI to disable the schedule tasks.

  • Scheduled Tasks In Database

    not sure how to do it, but pls advice.
    I have the schedule task to pass diffrent ID nto url for the same page.  If I have 3 IDs, I don't want to create 3 pages from CF admin schedule like
    task.cfm?id=1
    task.cfm?id=2
    task.cfm?id=3
    Instead of doing that, i create 2 pages below
    Thanks
    <!---run.cfm--->
    got 3 ID returned from variables.q_compInfo query(ID =1, 2 and 3).  I want to loop thru then pass id into task.cfm dynamiclly but runs it for 3 time.
    <cfset baseUrl = ("http://" &cgi.server_name &getDirectoryFromPath( cgi.script_name )) />
    <cfoutput>
    <cfloop query="variables.q_compInfo">

    </cfhttp>
    </cfloop>
    </cfoutput>
    <!---task.cfm--->
    when run.cfm excuted, I expected it query will be run 3 time and update this table for 3 dirrent ID.
    <cfquery name="update" datasource="#variables.dsn#">

  • How can I debug Scheduler Task?

    Hallo,
    I'm developing a scheduler task. I'd like to debug it. I tried it with NWDS debugger. I ran debugger before the scheduler task had started, but it didn't stop on my breakpoint. I copy my code to regular dynpage and debugging worked, but there is something, what I can't debug this way (state of task depeds on time).
    Is possible to debug scheduler task directly?
    Thanks in advance for your responces,
    Josef Motl

    Hi, Josef,
    there is nothing specific that prevents scheduler tasks from being debugged. I could think of two possible reasons for your problems.
    First, the IDE or the VM don't seem to like setting breakpoints on some kinds of code lines, for example while conditions or (even initializing) field declarations, although the IDE does not complain about you doing that. In those cases, it helps to set the breakpoint on the nearest 'normal' code line, best are self-contained statements like assignments or method calls.
    Second, scheduler tasks are of course executed in their own threads. Sometimes, for example if you at the same time debug some other code, the suspended thread executing the task won't get active in the debugger so you have to look for suspended threads in the thread list and select the one you're interested in explicitly.
    One of these two options always enabled me to debug scheduled tasks, so I hope this is going to help you, too.
    Cheers

  • How can I Backup scheduled tasks in ARD?

    Hi,
    I run a number of scheduled tasks throughout the day and I am wondering how I copy these so that I can protect them?
    Thanks.

    Saved tasks are in the com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist file. Back that up and you should be fine.

  • How can I delete local schedule tasks, if they do not show up in the left ARD pain

    In ARD you can schedule task on the local machine.
    Usually you can see the scheduled task in the left pain of the main window.
    I deleated some schedules tasks, but the tasks continue excute every morning.
    Is the a way to find these invisable scheduled tasks and remove them.
    I would be happy to know if a data base needs to be edited or a file deleated
    Cheers

    what dose the invisible task do?

  • OIM - Scheduled Tasks - Validade/Enable

    Hi All,
    I am quite new to OIM, two days working with it, and I have some questions that seem to be easy to answer but I could not find it here, neither on the internet (or I am not using the correct keywords).
    In our OIM environment we have some custom recon scheduled tasks, developed by oracle, and, as our internal processes with the targets are not working properly still, sometimes the scheduled tasks fail and when they fail they got disabled too. Most of the times they fail is because its input file, a CSV file coming from a target, is not there.
    Based on it, my questions are:
    1. I know there is a way to list all scheduled tasks and their status using the API, check this link: http://www.rameshgk.com/blog/2010/09/23/oim-scheduled-task-for-monitoring-other-scheduled-tasks/, but is there a way to do it by command line in Unix?
    2. Is there a way, when the schedulted tasks got disabled due to a failure, to enable it automatically, via API or any other method, without the need to go to web client?
    I was forgetting to comment one thing, unfortunately, I don't have access to the OIM database!
    Thanks for your attention!
    Regards.

    You can execute the scheduled task from the command line and use the following API:
    void updateScheduleTask(long scheduledTaskKey,
    java.util.Map attributes)
    throws Thor.API.Exceptions.tcAPIException,
    Thor.API.Exceptions.tcScheduledTaskNotFoundException,
    Thor.API.Exceptions.tcInvalidAttributeException,
    Thor.API.Exceptions.tcAttributeMissingException,
    tcAPIExceptionUpdates schedule task information based on the attribute that are passed to this method
    Parameters:
    scheduledTaskKey - the scheduled task key
    attributes - a map of updated attributes valid attributes
    •Task Scheduler.ClassName
    •Task Scheduler.Disable
    •Task Scheduler.Frequency Type
    •Task Scheduler.Interval
    •Task Scheduler.Key
    •Task Scheduler.Last Start Time
    •Task Scheduler.Last Stop Time
    •Task Scheduler.Max Retries
    •Task Scheduler.Name
    •Task Scheduler.Next Start Time
    •Task Scheduler.Retry Count
    •Task Scheduler.Start Time
    •Task Scheduler.Status
    You can provide the Frequency Type and Next Start Time and then it should be picked up. Just like when you are in the design console and you have it set to run once and you clear the entries in the time and set it to the current one.

  • Running without Adobe Flash Player Updater Scheduled Task

    I'm trying to understand how to avoid installing Adobe Flash Player Updater Scheduled Task.
    I am also unable to remove the Scheduled Task using a script that works on other tasks, on the same workstations.
    Is there an mms.cfg setting that will instruct the installer to skip the Task?
    1) Uninstall the Scheduled Task from all workstations in my environment.
    2) Install future updates without the Scheduled Task.
    I have already tried mm.cfg with these lines:
    AutoUpdateDisable=1
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
    It still runs the update process every hour.
    I have explained that it hasn't been causing a problem, but running this many processes on so many computers for no reason is causing some concern.
    My organization also does not allow big bang automation included with this product.
    Has anyone managed to shut off the Updater process from running?
    Thank you

    Hi Ethan,
    try creating an MST file, with Fx, Wise package studio...
    Edit the CustomAction “NewCustomAction1” added the parameter “-au 2” to the Command line argument.
    you should do that for both:
    install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi
    and
    install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi
    If you are using both of them..
    Or you can delete the scheduled task with schtask /delete "taskname"

  • Run a scheduled task with pop up message

    I have an .hta script that will prompt a user to accept or cancel a shutdown command.  I can make a scheduled task via GPO but the popup box never shows on the users desktop if they are logged in...the computer just shuts down.  Now, I know this
    is because the task is set to run as BUILTIN\System user.  How can I make it so the popup window appears for the user?
    Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7
    Thanks!

    After MS introduced Session 0 isolation, this is impossible on Vista and
    newer.

    NO THEY ARE NOT EVIL, if you know what you are doing:
    Good or bad GPOs?

    The most under-thought thing Microsoft has done. Because of this Session 0, when in a TS session on a Windows 2008 R2 while using Smart Cards authentification and enabling the setting "Disconnect the session when the card is removed"
    from the reader, every single time you have a message stating that "Your session was disconnected by an administrator" when you remove the card from the reader. You don't have the same result if in a Windows 2003 R2 TS session, where the session simply disconnects
    as it should.
    If someone kindly solve this issue mentionned above, it would be the best thing ever happen to me. Because of this "bug", I cannot use smart card authentification on my Windows 2008 RDS cluster.

  • Scheduled tasks in PL\SQL

    Hi All !!!
    How can I start scheduled tasks in PL\SQL ?
    Thanks a lot.

    You may try DBMS_JOB package.
    If your scheduler job is doing an execution of external application , you may use the Operating system scheduler.
    If you are using unix or similar OS then you may use the CRON TAB settings to start a job according to the schedule.
    If you are using Windows 95/98/NT/2K you may use the Task Scheduler of the OS.

  • How can I setup a scheduled task to run a Powershell Script delivered as a Group Policy Preference

    I have a Powershell script I want to run only once when a user logs onto their system. This script would move all the PST files from the Local drive and the Home drive to a folder location within the users profile. I wanted to run this as a Windows 7 Scheduled Task using Group Policy Preferences. How can I get this to happen short of a logon script? I have updated all the machines to WMF 4.0 so could I use a Scheduled Job instead? I wanted to run the script as the logon user but elevated.#Start Outlook and Disconnect attached PST files.
    $Outlook = New-Object -ComObject Outlook.Application
    $namespace = $outlook.getnamespace("MAPI")
    $folder = $namespace.GetDefaultFolder("olFolderInbox")
    $explorer = $folder.GetExplorer()
    $explorer.Display()
    $myArray= @()
    $outlook.Session.Stores | where{ ($_.FilePath -like'*.PST') } | foreach{[array]$myArray+= $_.FilePath}
    for
    ($x=0;$x-le$myArray.length-1;$x++)
    $PSTPath= $myArray[$x]
    $PST= $namespace.Stores | ?{$_.FilePath -like$PSTPath}
    $PSTRoot= $PST.GetRootFolder() #Get Root Folder name of PST
    $PSTFolder= $Namespace.Folders.Item($PSTRoot.Name) #Bind to PST for disconnection
    $Namespace.GetType().InvokeMember('RemoveStore',[System.Reflection.BindingFlags]::InvokeMethod,$null,$Namespace,($PSTFolder)) #Disconnect .PST
    #Move All PST files to the default location while deleting the PST files from their original location.
    $SourceList = ("$env:SystemDrive", "$env:HOMEDRIVE")
    $Destination = ("$env:USERPROFILE\MyOutlookFiles")
    (Get-ChildItem -Path $SourceList -Recurse -Filter *.PST) | Move-Item -Destination $Destination
    #Attach all PST files from the default location.
    Add-type -assembly "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook" | out-null
    $outlook = new-object -comobject outlook.application
    $namespace = $outlook.GetNameSpace("MAPI")
    dir “$env:USERPROFILE\MyOutlookFiles\*.pst” | % { $namespace.AddStore($_.FullName) }

    Mike,
    I do not understand what appears to be a regular expression above. I did add the PowerShell script to the HKCU RunOnce Key as suggested.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -noprofile -sta -WindowStyle Hidden -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -File "C:\scripts\Windows PowerShell\Move-PST.ps1"
     I'm delivering this using Group Policy Preferences. It seems to fail or time out when run because the behavior is different if I run the script from within the PowerShell IDE. I added the parameters to the script and will try it again in the morning.

    No special java class/object is needed actually. ColdFusion

  • Can summary tasks be prevented from toggling to "Manual Scheduled" Task Mode?

    Hi gang,
    Can summary tasks be prevented from toggling to "Manual Scheduled" Task Mode?  I am using MS Project 2013 Professional, and have the Task Mode defaulted to "Auto Scheduled" for new tasks, and noticed that if I "accidentally"
    enter some text in the summary task's Duration field that the text gets accepted and the Task Mode for that Summary Task toggles to "Manual Scheduled".
    Perhaps should be my 1st question, is this normal behaviour?
    Thanks in advance
    \Spiro Theopoulos, Montreal, QC (Canada)

    Spiro,
    I can confirm the same behavior you are seeing. I am not sure of the design decision based on this, and I do not think there is way to lock summary tasks to be always Autop Scheduled. Sorry!
