Can OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5.0) Agents send a file to specified location?

Hi all,
I have followed the following links to send an analysis to an email, and it works fine.

My question is, Is it possible to send an analysis (pdf/excel format) to a specified location, i.e. to my hard drive (e.g. D:\bi\)?

You can execute OBIEE 11g agents externally via ODI 11g:

OBIEE11g issue: hiding header banner in OBIEE 11g?

Hi BI Experts,
I have a requirement which require hiding Search, Advance,Administration etc Header banner and Home, Catalog, Dashboard etc menu banner in OBIEE 11g for some dashboard.
What i need is only the dashboard content to be displayed without any menus or bars even dashboard page name.
I m working on obiee 11g. I m not familiar with customized .css file or xml.
Which .css file or .xml file need to be modified? How?
Please advice.

Your updates is very helpfull. I can remove most of these labels.
But Administration, Sign Out, Alert(We have ibots) , Signed In As weblogic are still there, i could not see any label related these links in file saw.sessioninfos.xml.
And also i did remove below:
<resource id="kmsgHeaderAdministration" />
<resource id="kmsgHeaderLogout" />
<resource id="kmsgHeaderAlerts" />
<resource id="kmsgHeaderLoggedInAs" />
in saw.header.xml file, restarted all server, it did not work. How to remove the others?
Another concern is can we remove these only for serval dashboard, not for the whole application?
If we can remove the whole banner instead of removing Label and Link, that would be perfect.

Should OBIEE 11g be installed on a machine having weblogic already installed?

Hi Experts,
We have weblogic server already installed on one of the machines( It got installed when Hyperion was installed)
Can OBIEE 11g be installed on the same machine with its own weblogic server?

So If I install OBIEE with software only install and then configure it with Configuration assistant, Would I be able to see the same stuff in console and the enterprise manager, which I would normally see if had installed OBIEE with its own weblogic?
Also, what would be the console link in that case? for OBIEE with its own weblogic .. link is http://servername.com:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp
And looks like I will always have to coordinate with the Hyperion team as in like restarting of the server and other tasks like config changes.
Or can you tell me the pros and cons of having a single weblogic server.. cause we have different team for hyperion.

Can't login to obiee 11g analytics

Hi Guys,
Client has installed obiee 11g in a server sitting at different place. We have deployed our own repository and catalog. Now we can't login to obiee analytics. It does not accept any username or password created in weblogic console. But if we deploy oracle's default SampleSales repository, then we could login. Can't understand what's the problem!
It's throwing the following error:

Then I saw oracle's default repository and changed my DSN to your suggested format starting from "DESCRPTION" to rest. Still no luck Do you think, i should put the same TNS in my local machine??

Can we have Slider at dashboard level? - OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
We are working on OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.3.0), we have one requirement where we want to have dashboard level slider i.e. slider controlling all the graphs on dashboards.
Currently we have around 9 charts in dashboard and all of them have their individual slider (section) for customer. We wan to put this slider at dashboard level. Is there any way we can do it in OBIEE 11g? or any workarounds?

Sliders are only enabled in charts.But not for whole dashboard its not possible.

Other user can't access to OBIEE 11G installed on a server

We have installed OBIEE 11G on a server ( windows sever 2008 r2) with admin account, and it works fine, But others users can't access to obiee 11g ( administration icons are white in their sessions) even they have admin rights.
Can anyone tell me what should we do??

Can not login to OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I have installed OBIEE 11g last evening. I was able to connect to the dashboard and run a simple report also - all before shut down. Now when I try to access OBIEE 11g thru port :9704 after starting the BI services, I am getting the following error.
"Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
Any idea. Anyone is having any exp on this type of issue. Can anyone guide to resolve this issue.

Since you just installed last night I assume that you are just dev'ing on your laptop or something.
Be sure that on the machine which you installed on that you are entering http://localhost:9704/analytics/ to test the browser is hitting the correct server.
Also ensure that your Web Logic server is up and running and that all of your System Components via enteprise manager fusion control are "up" and running.
Also, when you start up the BI Services, i.e.: Programs > OBI > Start BI Services you must ensure that you enter the username and password correctly for the user/pass credentials that you created during the installation - typically this is the "weblogic" user by default.
For further help please post any actually log warning/error messages in your reply if the above does not work.

Can we apply saved filters to union reports in obiee 11g?
I am able to apply saved filters for normal reports but not for union reports.
The catalog pane is blank, when i click on result columns or each criteria.
The only option i see is to manually create the filters for each criteria, dont i have any choice to use a saved filter for union report?
Is this a bug or something i am unaware of , Please guide me.

I get the same issue. I thought that it's a problem in a security - the catalog pane is clear in a union report. But saved filters work in 11g. I migrated catalog from 10g to 11g and I see saved filters in the conditions. But you may add saved filters directly into xml. Go on Tab Advanced and edit Analysis XML. You have to add code like this
<sawx:expr xsi:type="sawx:savedFilter" path="/shared/FOLDER/_filters/FOLDER/FILTER_NAME" name="FILTER_NAME"/> in a right place.

Can I set a conditional format as default in OBIEE 11g?

I would like to set all positive number be (green) and negative number be (red) for all tables in Analytics Web (OBIEE 11g). Apart from create conditional format for every tables, is there any way to set once only and apply for all reports?

You can set system wide default by clicking on the button in conditional format tab.
*Make sure user has "Save System-Wide Column Formats" privilege to enable the option.

go to u r required columns -->right click and properties then select data format tab --> check it Override Default Data Format > select it custom option put u r required both option work.
if u kept it
DD-MM-YYYY ===> 01-03-2012 format u ill get

Can I install OBIEE 11g and Database 11g on the same machine?

i have some confusion...
i have oracle database 11g on one of my server.
i want to install OBIEE 11g on that same machine...
i just want to be assure that will it cause any problem or conflict..
because i set ORACLE_HOMe=/home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
and i have to set ORACLE_HOME for OBIEE also....
Please let me know what how to give...and is there any other way

Hi Abhishek,
You can install or mount both DB and OBIEE on same machine, but check out the disk space and memory needed should be more to accomodate both.
