Can one work item drive another work item.

Lets say I have two distinct bug tracking work items in tfs 2013. Would I be able to have one work item drive another... for example
if I create a defect in work item a, it will create a copy of it in work item b.
if I update the status of defect in work item a, it will update the status in work item b.
etc...

As far as I know, seems it's unavailable to get a copy of it in another work item automatically.
Generally, you can associate the created defect with two work items(add links to the defect for the two work items). Another option is open the first work item after adding the defect to it in team web access, then click button of "Create a copy
of this work item" to get a copy of the work item.

Can't get IDE drive to work with K8N NEO2

I built my computer two months ago. The only hard drive I installed was a Samsung 160GB SATA. The Windows XP installation was flawless and the system has worked perfectly ever since.
This past week I decided to install my old Western Digital IDE hard drive. I connected it to PATA port 1 on the motherboard. It's jumpered as a Primary device and connected to the primary port on the IDE cable.
The problem is that when I boot the computer with the IDE drive connected it will hang on the gray Platinum screen for around 5 minutes. If I hit DEL and enter BIOS after 5 minutes I can see that the drive is detected and the boot order already was set for the SATA drive first and the IDE drive second. Then if I reboot it hangs on the Platinum screen again for five minutes. When it finally clears that I get messages indicating that no boot device is available. If I shut down, disconnect the IDE drive, and reboot with only the SATA drive connected it boots flawlessly.
I checked my device manager and see that the nvidia nforce3 250 Parallel ATA controller and Serial ATA controller drivers are installed.
Is there anything else I can check or do to get the computer to boot with an IDE drive connected?

WD drives are special compared to others .
If they are alone on the ide channel they shall not be jumpered as master .
This is only when it is sharing the channel with another ide/atapi device .
Instead the jumper shall be removed , they call it single drive jumpering (SD).
And the reason why bios get hung is :
It finds a master jumpered drive , and since it does it will try to detect the slave
but there isn't one .

Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One Windows 8 driver not working

I recently got a new Dell Inspiron computer running the 64-bit version of Windows 8, and I have an Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One Printer from a long time ago. I don't have the disc version of the driver, since I purchased the printer before Windows 8 came out, so I tried to download it from the HP website. Whenever I try to run it, however, it says that it is extracting, but once the extract is finished, nothing happens. The Installation Wizard doesn't pop up, and there is no error message explaing it. Help please?

Can I check if your Officejet Pro 8500 is A909 or A910? Alternatively, you can install the class driver built into Windows 8 to print to your printer. There are also a couple of Windows Store apps (HP AiO Remote and HP Scan and Capture) that would work with your printer.

Can't get flash drive to work consistently

I am having trouble getting my Buffalo RUF - C/U2 flash drive to work consistently with my iBook. Sometimes it magically connects, other times it doesn't. When it's connected, it works perfectly well. Getting it to work, though, is starting to drive me mad.
I've an iBook, running OSX 10.3.9. Processor 1.2 Ghz Power PC G4. Memory: 768 MB DDR SDRAM. There's about 20 Gb of free space.
I've tried to narrow down the cause of the problem, but with no luck. Re-booting and/or disabling the other USB port doesn't seem to make any difference - neither does attaching the device with the machine powered on or powered off. It seems to have a mind of its own.
Any advice?

It is just "VERY" annoying that i can't get it to work.
I found out something by going to www.adobe.com with my iphone 4.0 and search under flash
No wonder i could not figure out what was wrong, the reason for it is that Adobe and Apple is not
very good friends apparently. Or so i could understand, don't take my words for knowing this correctly.
I would still like to know a "date" for when it comes out, currently our whole firm is using Apple Iphone 4.0 cause its nice but, we would really like to be able to make some use of flash for the firm.... So we are thinking about changing our phones out for another model that might be able to do and run flash.

Kismac worked on 10.6 and not on 10.7, how can i reload the driver that works, the whole reason i have a Mac is for corporate network security testing?

With the upgrade to Lion Kismac has stopped working. The application worked fine with Snow Leopard, is there a driver patch to correct this behavior or revert the driver to one that worked?

Yes OS X was updated. Now you need to make sure you have a version of the software tha'll work with it. Check with the vendor, follow QuickTimeKirks' link.

Auto calculate column item when another column items are changed in report

I have a report which consists of some editable text items. These editable items correspond to different columns in the table. Now in the report I want to make one column item to be automated so that it can perform some calculations based on other columns data entered by the user in the report. Like, for example if the user changes text item data for col3, col4 then it should automatically perform the calculations for col10 ; similar to onchage event. Consider a situation where in a user comes and enters data in the report throught the text item for col3, so whenever user changes the data for col3 it should perform the calculations for col10 automatically.
Can anyone please help me with this issue.

Copying from one iphoto library to another/working with multiple libraries

hi-
my current workflow involves having a 'master library' on one of my external HDs where i store ALL of my images (35,000+) and a 'working library' in my macbook pro where i dump most recent pics first. typically i dump to the working library & then about every 3 months, i burn those events onto disc(s) from within iphoto, open my master library and copy from the disc into the master library. then i will seasonally clear the working library out other than a few portfolio items i may want to keep there.
in the past, when i copied onto the disc and then into the master library, the event names and ratings would copy over too (although if i'd keyworded them, that would get screwed up, so i stopped). now it's not working! the correct event names and ratings show up on the disc, but they are not copying into the master library. i believe this is since i upgraded to ilife 09.
any ideas? it is essential to my current workflow to preserve those event names and ratings. i turned 'autosplit' off in preferences. i tried turning it on. anyone else have experience working with more than one library like this?

thanks larry, i'll check it out and let you know if that solves it. should the free version be sufficient? looks like this could be a really big help if it actually works, cuz i would like to create a 3rd and 4th library for other purposes but not if it's just going to make things more of a pain for me.
i assume this should help with the keyword issue i was having before too? (if i keyworded pics in my working library, the keywords on those pics once copied to the master library would be wrong, it would apply other keywords sometimes, most of the time...)

Argh can't get the driver to work!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working on this for the past 5 hours and I'm on the verge of playing base ball with the zen. I have a Zen Xtra. I tried loading the Play For Sure Firmware but the thing jammed. So I stopped and my player rebooted into the Rescue mode. I tried "Reload Os" and I tried to update the firmware. But the thing wont connect. Windows XP SP2 sees it but says it cannot install the driver. I installed all three drivers on the CD then installed the update from Creative...nothing. It won't install the driver...it keeps saying it's not connected?Now my player is OS less and I can't put a new one in... Can I swap hard drives between working and nonworking MacBooks?

I'm considering buying an Early '08 MacBook (2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo) w/ an apparently bad hard drive ("drive not recognized"). Obviously I want to test before I buy. In order to determine if the HD is the only issue w/ this MB, can I take the hard drive from my functioning MB (1st gen. Core Duo 2.0 GHz, 160 GHz HD, OS X 10.5.7) and simply install it in the non-working MB to see if it starts up? I have a spare 160 GB Fujitsu HD pulled from a 2nd gen. MB Core 2 Duo, but it's wiped clean. Advice?

It should work. If the drive is erased, you won't be able to boot from it, of course. But you could test it by booting from the install disk for the computer and formatting the drive in the "new" computer and see how it works.

Can't get USB drive to work in USB port on airport extreme

I just recently purchased a MacBook Pro and a airport extreme 110/100/1000. My first apple computer. I wanted to use the airport to connect a WD My Book hard drive and my printer so that the Mac and my windows computers would be able to access them.
As many have reported I had trouble making it work. I could not get the Mac to access the hard drive thru the airport although it would when hook up directly.
First Apple needs to say very clearly that the drive must be formatted FAT32. There is some disagreement whether the drive can be partitioned.
Anyway after spending hours trying to use my hard drive I started searching the internet. I found a program that could be downloaded on the WD website that would reformat the hard drive back to FAT32 from NTFS very quickly. After doing so, the hard drive mounted and worked perfectly and had over 232GB available (not 32 like it would be if formatted on a older Windows computer.
The drive must be FAT32 and will definitely work if not partitioned.
Apple really needs to have much better documentation on the whole process, especially for those like me who are PC guys and are not familiar with the terminology. Hope this helps.

Epson is vorking on updating drivers and utilities for this scanner.
From the epson site :
"Description:
An OS X 10.9 compatible Scanner Driver and EPSON Scan Utility for this model is not yet available but is coming soon. Please check back for availability."
So, until then you can only use the basic scanning provided by Image Capture.
Alternatively take a look on vuescan.

HT1338 Can anyone find a driver which works for the EPSON SX445W with Mavericks?

I have an EPSON stylus SX445W printer/scanner. Since I installed Mavericks it doesn't work. I have tried to install a new driver from the EPSON site but this does not work either. It clearly says on the EPSON site that an update is available, but I haven't been able to find it if it exists.
Anyone else having the same problem?

It's impossible to tell from the Epson site if the driver is compatible with Mavericks, because they only identify the driver by OSX, and not by which version of OSX. But the driver was released in January of 2012 so it's safe to assume that it is not for Mavericks. Thus it doesn't look like there is a Mavericks-compatible driver for your printer. Your options are:
see if your printer will work with AirPrint or a generic driver. See: OS X Mountain Lion: If the software for your printer can’t be found
see if there is a driver for your printer at Gutenprint for Mac OS X
go back to Mountain Lion
get a new printer. Don't buy an Epson printer.
This is called dysmarketing: when a company actively tries to drive its customers away by their poor customer service. The beta of Mavericks was out for about six months before its public release. Plenty of time for Epson to release a driver.

Can one network hard drive back up both a Mac and a PC? What file system?

We have both a Mac and a PC on our home network. I would like to use a network external drive to back them both up, instead of connecting each to its own external drive for backups. Iomega makes one, for example.
The external drives I see advertised say that they are both Mac and PC compatible, but don't explicitly say that you can connect both at the same time. Can you?
If so, what file system does the network drive use? Does it have a partition, one side with HFS for Mac and the other with NTFS for Windows? Is this really workable?
And most importantly, will such a network drive work with TM?

I have a late 08 MackBook Pro and several Vista & XP machines. I currently backup the MBP and the primary Vista machine to a 1 TB drive attached via USB to an Airport Extreme router. No problems backing both up through the APE to the USB drive.
The one thing I read when getting ready to set this up is that I should format the drive with the Apple file system, not one of the Microsoft file systems. I did (did it as an external drive off the MBP), and had no subsequent problems with Time Machine backups or Vista backups (using Acronis True Image).

How can one servlet (ActionServlet) effect another servlet (AxisServlet)...

Recent issue is driving me batty. Suddenly started receiving exceptions in app server logs (tomcat a la jboss)...

After many many hours of research, appears that I get this exception if a specific struts action (one of several) executes at the same time as a SOAP call to the AxisServlet. It ends up causing the return of an empty dataset to the calling SOAP client (and giving me a bad headache to boot).
Weird.
The actions that appear to cause this aren't special in any way (not any different than other actions in my application), but I am obviously missing something. I have a suspicion that the struts actions that cause this are all chained events (one action calls another which leads to a JSP....but can't completely confirm).
Any thoughts? How can the activities of one servlet effect another such as this? Yes...they are in the same war/ear......and they probably share some common classes.....
For the record...Jboss 4./tomcat 5.5 Struts 1.3X and Axis 1.2 (although have tried 1.4...same results). Java 1.5 on FreeBSD 6.0.
Any help would be appreciated.

If the other servlet is in a web-app in the same container, you can use RequestDispatcher, if not you would have to use a URLConnection.
